This year, I have decided to do a fantasy league in baseball and I'm looking for people to sign up. The rules of the league...

1. It is a dynasty league, once all the managers have signed up, we will discuss how many players we cut each year.
2. You must be active. If you do not show up at least twice a week don't bother, I want ACTIVE FUN MANAGERS.
3. You must know what baseball is. Do not take Rick Ankiel with your first pick.
4. The draft will be live and held on a Saturday in the near future.

I'll do it if someone could explain to me how fantasy baseball works. I hear about it all the time, I read articles about it, but I am still confused.

It's really easy.

Step by Step
1. You join the league
2. You set up your team name and ways we can reach you
3. You wait for the date of the draft
4. You draft players at each position based on their individual skills (ex- While he may be a great team player, and will contribute to the teams success, you probably shouldn't draft Orlando Hudson)
5. Once the players have been drafted there are many ways this league could go.

Head to Head
6a. You compete with other teams, one each week of the regular season.
7a. You strive to be better as a team in catagaories like runs, BA, HR, RBI, and SB
8a. Win or lose, they get added to your season W-L record, so it sort of looks like a real season record for a real team almost.
9a. At the end of the season, the final 4 or so weeks are for the fantasy playoffs
SIDE NOTE- There are trades enabled so you can trade players for other player

Points
6b. You compete with EVERY team EVERY week.
7b. You strive to be the BEST team each week.
8b. Your points per week get added to your season total
9b. The best team obviously, wins.

I haven't decided whether I will do a head to head or Points league yet, so if anyone has a preference, they SHOULD post it.

It takes some getting used to, but my first season wasn't bad. In a 10 team league, I finished 5th. Just average.

Anyway, one thing to remember is it IS a dynasty league. So if you don't think you will have a chance to win this year, you may be better served to take prospects with high ceilings. This ensures you will have a strong team in the future, although you sacrifice your first season.

legacyme3 : I very much prefer head to head, if you were asking for my input on that. I like it to feel like normal Baseball, where you face different teams, rather than face everybody all of the time.

But what stops me from just drafting all of the good players and how do we determine the wins and losses? Anyway, I guess I'll learn from doing it. I'm in. I want my team to be called the New Jersey Dwarfs.

Team A, B, C, and D

Team A has the first pick.

Team A
Team B
Team C
Team D

Team D

Team B
Team A

Team A
and so on.

Win and losses are determined based on how a team does,

EX- HR, RBI, SB, ERA, K are the catagories here

Team A v Team B
Team A wins HR, RBI, SB, and K
Team B wins ERA

Team C v Team D
Team C wins RBI and SB
Team D wins HR, ERA, and K

Standings
Team A 4-1-0
Team D 3-2-0
Team C 2-3-0
Team B 1-4-0

And so on.

Anyway, got you, spread word to anyone on Vizzed who likes baseball.

Maybe bvd1022 would like to join us. He's the only other person that I know on here that likes baseball.

basically we pick players and stuff, if you have ever done fantasy baseball you would get it right away, but if not, then you will learn this season. Everyone has a first season.
