1. Is it easy to navigate the Retro Game Room and to find a game? If not, how could it be improved?

Its all easy.

2. When you first came to the Retro Game Room, was it confusing? If so, how long did it take to get familiar with it?

Not confusing.

Ive played alot without losing much Viz.

4. How does the Vizzed Retro Game Room compare to similar sites?

Its the best free online game site I know of.

5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?

I think that it is very well-made. I can find the game that I type in and also look for other games that I have not seen before and try them out. This is really good and I hope that it does not change very differently.

1. I thought it was fairly easy to navigate. I think the only 2 things I would suggest is that when I do not select a specific alphabet letter to search (view all), I would still like them to be in alphabetical order. It just makes it seem less jumbled. For the next part, I personally am not so interested in hack games and games customated by others. When I search for A Link To the Past, I want to play that, and not 10 different versions created by others. I would suggest that if you are searching a specific console system, separate the mod games from the real ones in the list so they aren't all mixed up with them. Otherwise, it often takes me a while to find what I'm looking or start speeding through my search because I'm trying to ignore the mod or custom games.

2. I was familiar with it immediately. I like that you can narrow to specific systems and simply look for any game you want.

3. Honestly, before I became more familiar with how the site works, I did not even realize it was costing me Viz in the first place Very generous prices.

4. It is definitely the best I have seen. I have seen sites that you play directly on their site instead of downloading an emulator, and it often was laggy and would quit halfway through. This is smooth playing and consistent.

5. I felt like my ceiling opened up, a beam of warm light shone down on my laptop, and I could here a chorus singing "Hallelujah!"

6. This isn't one of your questions, but I figured I might as well ask here since I can't really find a thread that addresses this. Is there a reason why the menu is different between NES and SNES? On SNES, I hit the escape key, and I have a all the scroll down menus right here. On NES, it took me forever to realize that I had to hit 'fn' with the function keys to save. And as far as I know, you only get one save state per game and I can't customize my keys. Is there any way to make it like it is on SNES? If not, its cool. It isn't really a big deal to me. I will keep playing anyway

1. Is it easy to navigate the Retro Game Room and to find a game? If not, how could it be improved?

Yes. I can search specific systems or certain games or both. I've been able to find most of the games I wanted without any trouble, and the one I haven't been able to find (Commodore Space Taxi) isn't on the site so it's not a search issue. The one thing I would like to see added is an alphabetical, text-only listing of games for each game system. The text only would allow it to load more quickly than the regular results, and we wouldn't have to click through several pages. As a bonus, we might see a game we liked in the past that we aren't remembering.

2. When you first came to the Retro Game Room, was it confusing? If so, how long did it take to get familiar with it?

Not at all. I was able to familiarize myself with it in very little time.

3. What do you think of the Viz price of the games?

I haven't even noticed. Even before I posted my referral link for the first time, I haven't run out of Viz. I also like the "Games You Own" part of the profile. It serves as a favorites list and allows me to access those games more quickly. Being new to the site, I don't know if there's a time limit on 'owning' those games but if there is, I hope they get bookmarked one way or another when they expire.

4. How does the Vizzed Retro Game Room compare to similar sites?

It's great. It has the most extensive collection of games in one place. I only know of a few other sites--one Atari only, one Nintendo only, and a couple of Commodore sites. The C-64 sites run slowly and the games are buggy. The Nintendo site has fewer games. The Atari site is good but only has Atari. Vizzed easily beats all three.

5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?

"Wow, this is the greatest site ever!! I've always wanted to find a site like this!"

I didn't have any problems trying to find games I loved when I first came to the retro game room. Everything else is cool with me except some of the vizz costs for some of the games. Some of them are like 45 vizz and stuff and it seems like alot too me for some of the games it says that much on.

Just a few questions I'd like you guys to answer in order to help me make the RGR Structure the best it can be.

1. as a new member of the site. i find it relatively easy to find a game. iether because of it being in the immediate menu for a system, or because i can search it. witch is actually a huge plus because alot of other websites search systems dont work that well.

2. it was a tiny bit confusing but i actually think that its because the website sounded too good to be true. the thought of being able to play all these really nice classic games made me feel like this was a trap for like viruses or something. however after i settled down and started chilling on the site i realized how wrong i was.

3. pricing games with vizzed is actually very appropriate. i can sort of understand the whole, you cant go out and play every game you want right away. because that almost sounds like cheating the website. and it feels like im renting games again. its really a nice touch. and its not like you go to play a game and you go. "dang it. i really wanted to play this, but im out of points" ive never run into that.

4. what similar sights?

5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?
5. i actually stated this already. but it still felt a little bit like a virus trap. especially how you needed the vgr pluggin. i never trust downloads. but i went ahead and made the download anyway. and after playing mega man for like 20 minutes. i said to myself... this site is alright.

keep up the good work. dont change a thing

1. Is it easy to navigate the Retro Game Room and to find a game? If not, how could it be improved?
Yep, because I just need to fill in the keywords in the search log, and ta-da! I get the game I want to play.
2. When you first came to the Retro Game Room, was it confusing? If so, how long did it take to get familiar with it?
Kinda, because I didn't expect the RGR to have that much games, but I got used to it pretty quickly, thanks to the search box.
3. What do you think of the Viz price of the games?
Three words: CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP!
4. How does the Vizzed Retro Game Room compare to similar sites?
I'd say it's the best of all, but I wouldn't even dare to attempt to compare Vizzed to others, because Vizzed is special in itself.
5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?
My face was basically this: Oo <(OMG). I was pretty shocked at how good it was, which was one of the many reasons I stuck with Vizzed =)

Davideo7 : Being here for less then a week, this is easy for me to remember. I just hope that since the Spell checker seems to like to destroy all line breaks for me, and the fact the edit button has vanished on me, that this is easy for you to read. If that is the case, my apologies. I will make the questions and my answers highlighted just in case that happens.Q: 1. Is it easy to navigate the Retro Game Room and to find a game? If not, how could it be improved?A: There are many options to find a specific game you are looking for. My only recommendation is to perhaps make it so more games appear in one page. I may not be looking for a specific game I know; rather, I may just be browsing games I haven't seen before and trying to look for something that interests me. So as far as just browsing goes, it can be a slow process. My recommendation is to add more games in one page (or perhaps the option to).Q: 2. When you first came to the Retro Game Room, was it confusing? If so, how long did it take to get familiar with it?A: I was confused at first, but merely because of the expense of the stupidity of my computer, and saying it was installing the pluggin, but in reality it didn't ACTUALLY install the pluggin. I was fine after that.Q: 3. What do you think of the Viz price of the games?A: I think the prices are both fair and unfair. I think they are fair, because it only takes a couple posts of small text, or one post of big text, to play the game. My complain on it being unfair however, is the fact that, if for some reason, my window crashes (happens a lot on my firefox, trust me...) or the game DOESN'T work (Example of this being Quest 64, it doesn't seem to want to play at all after I hit the start button to either begin a new game, continue, or delete a saved game), then I get my Viz points stolen like a vending machine that didn't actually give me my candy. My recommendation is to increase the price of the games, but after paying, you have free access to that game for a certain amount of time. This way, you can adjust the pricing and the timing as you choose flexibly.Q: 4. How does the Vizzed Retro Game Room compare to similar sites?A: To put it simply, I haven't seen any site that lets you play rom games through a web browser. Then again, I do not go into a whole bunch of random forums often like I did in this one. I actually spent 2 hours surfing on here before deciding I wanted to be part of the community.Q: 5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?A: (This answer is really a combination of most of the questions, but please bare with it because I believe it holds good criticism) My first reaction to the Retro Game Room was: "Cool, I can play rom games at my school without getting suspended because I'm not actually running an EXE file to play the game! (EXE file being an emulator; against school rules to play a game using an executable, but websites are fine apparently). As a bonus, my brother didn't actually know you could do such a thing, so he was easily impressed as well. Brownie points! However, on the other hand, I do wonder this as well; what is to stop me from downloading the game I wanted to play so I don't have to pay Viz each time I want to play it? This, I did admittedly with Quest 64, but only because I couldn't get it to work and I did like 25 reloads, each eating my Viz because the bloody thing kept crashing my window, so I think I payed with my Viz enough as it was anyways.. And I was frustrated, because as I said, it did chew up all my Viz. And it still refused to get me past the pesky menu. On my emulator, it worked completely fine. All other games, as I tested (costing more Viz) worked fine too, so either I was unlucky, or it was clearly the game. Conclusion: I hope this post helps in somewhere to give you an idea on how to improve the Retro Gaming Room in anyway. I personally believe it is something that holds a large amount of potential and finding it overall absolutely enjoyable. Just a few minor pet peeves here and there that I believe can easily be taken care of with a bit more plotting and/or fixes.

1. Is it easy to navigate the Retro Game Room and to find a game? If not, how could it be improved?
It is easy to find what ever game I want for the most part. A couple things I would implement would be a direct link to play each game without going to the specific games page. Also I use the random button until I find an interesting game, but I am forced to keep hitting the page back button to get access to the random button again. I would not mind a way to filter out anything Pokemon related haha, I am somewhat serious about that too. There are so many pokemon games/hacks I usually have to go a few pages into the search to find something else.

2. When you first came to the Retro Game Room, was it confusing? If so, how long did it take to get familiar with it?
I don't think it was confusing at all, maybe a little bit overwhelming, but that is a good thing. It took me roughly 10 minutes to get familiar with the general layout and how everything works.

3. What do you think of the Viz price of the games?
Honestly, I didn't even realize they cost Viz until a few days ago. I am fairly new being here only 20 days. It is easy to get Viz and I have not had a problem playing a game because of the Viz price.

4. How does the Vizzed Retro Game Room compare to similar sites?
Simply put, similar sites don't compare to Vizzed at all and this site is by far the best.  I have only been to a couple sites that had browser based emulation, but they usualy have a very low selection of titles and lack many features this site has. For instance, they usually don't allow you to change the control scheme.

5. What was your first reaction when you first came to the Retro Game Room and started exploring what it offered?
At first I shocked, never in my wildest dreams did I think a site of this magnitude could exist. I have been using emulators for over 10 years and I have never seen anything quite like this. I was also surprised when I found out how long this site has been running, as I figured game companies would want to shut this site down.

   No, it wasn't confusing.

The prices are decent, and fair for the amount of Viz a use can make per day.
