I don't really have the feeling of getting older, but I do feel like "where did all that time go?", The summer goes by and I can't remember much at all about what I did.

Yeah i fear getting older because i forced myself to grow up faster than i should have. Mentally, i feel so much older than twenty; Like I've lived the life of someone 10 years my senior. Not that its necessarily a bad thing, i'm far more mature than a lot of people my age, and im not as inclined to make as many stupid choices (i made them all when i was 14 and it was easier to bounce back from lawwl) but i still have so far to go and im already so tired; i could sleep for a year if i let myself

Plus what will i do when my looks fade?!?

I do not have a fear of it,just a mild resentment at times. I wish I could go back in the day,but I know I cannot.

Last year, I was really afraid to look forward. It was depressing to see emails recommending colleges when I was only in 9th grade. Now, I've gotten used to the idea; Planning ahead, thinking about how I'm going to get by. It's a little exciting, but I don't want to wish my time away.

I would be. I am still young, but I am going to be scare of what I would be when I get older.

The only reason why I'm afraid of getting older is more responsibilities. Eventually, I'll be so swamped with work to do, I won't be able to hang out in these Viz boards for long periods of time...

I'm only afraid of getting old because of all the work I'll have to do. Especially in college and when I have a kid to deal with.

I fear growing up, why? because I actually enjoy being a kid unlike most kids.

Yes i do fear growing up it brings so much responsiblity
And now that i'm almost 16 i miss being a little kid.
doing whatever you want all day and not having to worry
bout anything but playing with your toys.

I do have a fear of growing old...I still remember being 12 and sometimes 10, now that i am 15, I feel that the years are becoming shorter and shorter.

I'm 17, but I still feel like I am nothing more then ten years old, and I still even act like so in real life; albeit, in a still mature way, which is the same way I still acted when I actually was 10 years old. My personality hasn't changed much in seven years at all, I guess that may be why I still feel that way.

this whole thread actually scares me, i dont want to look back at my life and say wheres it all gone or ask why itsd gone so fast i hate beign stuck in the past even know i know uni's coming up and i gotta study hard and thigns are comign on thick and fast and is no logner care free like secondary school i know that after uni ill probably have a kid and get even mroe responsibilities. its like a switch has clicked and youve changed from easy to gruelling and you want to get back i dont want to age anymore and get closer to dying also but time does fly and i cant believe that ive already started my 6 form for a whoel year know seems like a few weeks ago i joined its too fast :/

I can't say that I have a fear of getting older. I haven't experienced the real world yet. I'm 23 and I'll be 24 in two months. Yes. I'd admit that I still live with my mother. I'm doing my best to help her out and with this job I'll hopefully be getting soon. I'm going to try and get my own place to live even though she says I won't be able to keep up with the bills. (I'll be getting paid $7.45 an hour) So I believe her and yet I think she's trying to keep me from moving out. That feels weird to me. Anyways, I'm getting off topic. No, I can't say I have a fear of getting older. I still look young, (16 years old I look like) I haven't experienced the real life out there, don't have a girlfriend, or a house to call my own. Yeah, I know it's sad really, but I'll let you know if I start to experience that when I begin to really live.

NotJon : so you've been in college for two semesters now? Jeez yeah I feel like it was just yesterday, (10 yrs ago) and I was watching all the cartoons that they just re run for kids now a days like yu-gi-oh, spongebob, saturday morning cartoons, 4 player splitscreen on FPS, SSB, and mnay other 4 player games, now with colllege, and having to get a job, its all picking up real fast, I am seriously dreading how fast we have to grow up out of high school

 I don't really have a fear of growing old, but it does seem as though time is flying very quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was 4, watching my big brother play the N64, games like Zelda OoT, Banjo-Kazooie and Paper Mario. Now I'm 15, soon to be 16, playing games in 3D, feeling as though I've lost numerous years of my life. Such is the destiny of one with a stressful life, I suppose. Yet I still fear that time will never slow down. Who knows, I may be 60 and remember my typing this as though I did it only a moment ago. 

 It also may stem from the fact that I was forced to grow up emotionally at a very early age, for reasons I shan't disclose, but it just seems that my childhood ended far too quickly.

Rasenganfan2 : Wow seems like yesterday you were what, 12? Hard to believe you've been around that long. Yeah you've had a very different life than most.

I do not think it is so much of a fear of aging as much as dying suddenly and not going to heaven. It is shocking how fast time flies and it feels like it is accelerating.
