I think it is really unfair that ths thread has been allowed to run, when there has been a mini campiagn of sorts to close my threads as they might be percieved to be duplicates and yet this one is engaging the same depbates that mine would have done and yet has been allowed to run without being closed down.

I enjoy this conversation and am not angry, it just proves that Vizzed is not always as fair as it appears.

Totts : why are you complaining? That thread is closed.... and was closed for reasons other than it being a duplicate.

Do i think he will get re-elected? sure! I believe thsi because nearly every president for the last 20 years has been. Not because of the people or because of congress, but because who is gunna try to take that away from him? I'm not. That place is so corrupt it makes me sick to my stomach.

And about progress..... I'm still glad he hasn't found a way to take our gun rights away yet, like he is planning to do.

Also, he is trying to Abolish the constitution. And if he cannot, he will amend it in such a way, that they can work around it without having to follow it anymore. Such as the 14th amendment.

So no, i hope he dosen't get re-elected. In fact, i hope he does something so crazy that the people call for a revolution and we can take this country back from the paid criminals that run it.

Get out of the middle East, Fix peoples' job situation, save money, and live a better life. Thats what i'd tell him.

Because being fiscally conservative has worked so well in the past.

Great depression would like a word with you.

I hope he gets another term, I doubt it though. Too many people are completely ignorant. That's why Bush was president for so long...

Nearly every president in US history has gotten a second term after their first, usually because citizens know how that candidates term will go, rather than taking a risk they prefer not to change and go the safe route.

But people want change that is why he got in office I'm sure people will be more in demand of change then ever before after his term.

gameface138 : I kind of hope he does get re-elected to a second term… Lets face it as I said in my thread “What’s your opinion on politics in America?” he inherited quite a mess and there is no realistic quick fix for it. It takes time.

If George W. Bush could get elected twice under questionable circumstances and with really low approval ratings Obama needs to be given an adequate chance. He also as I said in my thread is fighting a battle against a party who are going against him on anything and everything simply based on political affiliation being that he is not a member of their party.

The way I look at it is although the Republican party may have valid points, the fact is that they sat back for eight years and allowed the mess that we’re in now to manifest itself and to me that brings serious questions into their credibility.

Obama...second term i dont think so, though i do give him credit for trying to pick up the mess left for him but i have a feeling america is going to vote republican for the next master and chief. Though if i was old enough and had enough capital i would run for president cause we need to get ppl that are blue collar in there, cause the rich get richer and us poor folk just keep going broke

I think it's very likely he gets re-elected, because the republicans dont have any good candidates to run against him. Are you seriously going to vote for Sarah Palin?

I'm about about as anti-Obama as you can get, I'm a libertarian, but I dont think it's realistic to think he wont get re-elected.

And Stikk, I clicked through a bunch of things on the site you posted, and I disagreed with all of them. I didn't like that he did those things, such as repealing bans on stem cells, increasing the required MPG on cars, developing the stimulus package, increasing minorities access to capital, etc.

nicksorbello : What's wrong with increasing the MPG of cars?

I think he will get re-elected. I can't picture this country voting Republican so soon after Bush. Besides, considering the circumstances, he's done okay. Besides, there really is no other appealing Republican. I've really begun to hate the average American voter. Flip flopping between parties every election - it's disgusting. I always thought of the Republican party as belonging to the rich, business people who have little interest in helping 99% of Americans. Democrats have their own flaws, but, I'd rather take my chances with them (or an independent party candidate).

There is nothing wrong with it, if the car companies choose to do it on there own to better compete in a market where MPG is important. But the president is forcing companies to increase it, giving us less choice on the type of car we'd like to buy.

What makes you think republicans are for the rich? The rhetoric of democrats brainwashing you into believing it? It's sad that they've been so successful at doing that. Wanting lower taxes benefits everyone, not just the rich. And dont believe that corporations are not paying their fair share because of loop holes, thats pure fabrication.

I will be voting for him next year because I seriously doubt that there will be any other candidate running that is even remotely sane. The Republicans are bowing to the whims of the far right, and that means that the moderates have no chance.

I have paid attention to what has been going on in the political world since the Obama election and based on all the evidence I have seen Obama has done the best that he can do get this country back on this feet with little or no help from the Republicans that try to roadblock him just because they can. All of the issues that people bring up, like the health care bill, are more to be laid at the feet on Congress than the President, but no one ever holds the Senators responsible.

And like others have already said, if Bush can get elected with a dismal approval rating after he openly stole the first election, then Obama should be able to get elected to despite the very loud rantings of the far right. Besides, with nutjob candidates like Sarah Palin, running either as a Republican or anything else, the Republican vote will be split or on the off chance the entire GOP loses their minds and make her their main candidate I would certainly hope that republicans with more than half a brain cell would vote for Obama instead, because Goddess only knows that Palin would destroy this country.

Honestly, no, I don't think so, even though I wish he got a second term. He did more good and passed more positive bills in his first year in office than GWB did in his eight, but with the crappy state GWB left the country in it's going to take way more than one term to fix it, and people want it fixed now, instantly, and if Obama can't do it instantly the public is going to try somebody else. With the senate now being composed entirely of Republicans, not a single democrat, there isn't enough a Democrat can do in office now anyways. The Republicans are the Sith, and they could get anyone they wanted into the oval office through the right kinds of bribery, nepotism, refusing to count 50+ percent of the black vote in certain states, and all the piles upon piles of corruption and deceit just the same as got GWB into office in the first place. Some poll stations stopped counting votes half way through then, so it wouldn't surprise me if they only decided to count votes for whatever Republican puppet is next up to bat. The new initiative will probably be nuking China since America won't be able to pay off it's trillions in debt. I wonder if they'll come up with a catchy name like last time, Operation Iraqi Liberation, or OIL, for short. They musta been having a good old guffaw when they came up with that. Maybe the Republican president will give a special private address to the nation like GWB gave to Iraq, trying to convince the public to specifically not burn oil wells when they sent in the troops. Maybe the address this time will be that everyone who will work for less than a dollar a day will be escorted to bomb shelters provided by the states. Whew, sorry if this rant offended anyone, but the Republicans are a pack of filthy, deceitful, liars who will do ANYTHING to increase their own profits and agenda, in my personal opinion.

BTowns : Look, you may not agree with Republican policies, but that's no reason to call them an evil, corrupt party bent on taking over by any means necessary. If what you said was really true, they would already be ruling this country with an iron fist dictatorship. Personally, I think that BOTH main parties have serious problems with corruption and misuse of power, not just Republicans. A lot of politicians seem to think that being in office absolves them of all crime and obligation to the law. I not saying that all politicians are bad, but we have serious problems in politics across the board, not just in one place or party.

As for Obama being reelected, unless the economy suddenly makes a massive comeback or we go to war, I doubt it. Economic patterns are the biggest deciding factor in which party controls the White House, and right now, the economy is doing bad, so people will probably turn towards Republicans to see if they can fix it.

Firstly... Republicans hold the majority in the Senate, but there are still plenty of Democrats in there, and like two Independants. However, Republicans won't pass anything that this country actually needs and even want to cut Veteran's benefits, showing that despite all of their claims they do not give a damn about the men and women that fight for this country.

Now, not every Republican is a bad person, but a lot of the ones in power are. They are corrupt and do the bidding of whatever lobbyist pays them the most. It is a problem with the entire Senate and a reason why we really need to hold them accountable.

Glyphomancer : Another war is the last thing this country needs. Bush ran up a HUGE amount of debt with the last two wars... yet all the blame is falling on Obama because he cannot undo eight years of Bush's bad spending in 1/4 of the time.

In my honest opinion, the impatience of the American voting public is an embarrassment to the country. You cannot fix as massive of a problem as our economy overnight, it is going to take time. But they want it now, not gradual improvement, because most people have no actual idea how it works... I mean, how many people actually pay attention in high school economics, and even when they do how many teachers actually teach you more than how to read the stock market section, invest, and balance a checkbook? That last bit is really more of a whole other side rant about our failing education system... which Obama is trying to fix, but the Republicans won't let him because they feel it is okay to raid the Education funding every time the budget comes up for discussion. They don't care about our future, they don't care about our children. They are rich and can send their kids to private school, and they do. Name one child of a Senator or Representative that goes to a public school, I dare you!

Elara, as much as you accuse people of being uneducated, you sure pack some uneducated wollop in your posts. The democrats still control the Senate, its the House that the republicans control.

And let me ask you, do you want this country to exist in 10 years? Because at the rate democrats are going, it wont be there, at least in the fashion you know. We are 11 trillion+ in debt, and it is climbing under President Obama. His proposed budget was 3.73 trillion, which adds to the debt. He claims that eventually his policies will curb that, but only if you re-elect him! Oh, ok. We'll do as you say. Thank you sir, may I have another! Thank you sir, may I have another! That is what we are saying by electing progressive liberals to office, they run up the debt because they believe in something called Keynesian economics, look it up. Keynesian economics says that when the economy is doing poorly, the government should spend more to spur the economy. It has never been proven to work, and is just a theory, yet they want to risk the future of our economy on it?

I'm not a fan of republicans either, I vote libertarian, if you're familiar with it. Dont vote for either of the main parties, they are liars and both will spend us into oblivion. If you want America to continue as a free and prosperous nation, we must cut spending drastically, while also raising taxes across the board for a short time to bring our debt under control. You wont want to live here when foreign countries no longer accept our dollars because we've defaulted on our debt for too long.
