That used to aggravate me. But I just used proxy's to get around it. Same with the library. They blocked myspace, facebook...etc. There is always a way around it if it's really that important that you go on during school time. If it's not that important then just cut your losses and just go on at home.

Like a lot of people have said, school is for learning not surfing the internet. I approve of blocking social sites like Facebook, MySpace, and even Vizzed on K-12 school computers because they exist for learning not for your amusement. Your teacher gives you free time, read, goof around with learning a new program, or work on homework so you have more Vizzed time when you get home.

Now, what I disagree with is blocking sites on college systems. I mean, I see blocking porn on public computers, but anything else is just silly. Only time I had trouble with the keyword blocker was a thread on Xeogaming talking about a "F*cking insane roommate"... they blocked the adjective form of the word, but "F*ck" was okay based on my research.

Oh... and a school blocking Wikipedia is lame. Really lame.
