Okay, here is a forum question set to make it to 4000,

Which console is going to be the new market leader,

I hear that Sony is making moves pretty fast,

I wish I still had my original gameboy though!!!

Totts : The Xbox 360, just like all is perfect, i bought an Elite after my 5 year old xbox just wouldnt play disks anymore. First off the system is now very quiet when your playing it, and one of my old disks which is completely scratched to the point where it looks like my cat got ahold of it still plays on it. Also i have had mine a while and i have yet to get the red ring. And if you dont move the system all the time, you lower the chances of getting the red ring. Another thing, your getting 2 games with this that are normally in the range of 50 to 60 dollars, your doing nothing but winning in this buy, 250 is a small price to pay for a system that will last you a long time. If your thinking about buying this, its a great way to spend your money. best games to get# All-new campaign content. The “Halo 3: ODST” campaign explores mysterious events leading up to the Master Chief’s return to New Mombasa in “Halo 3.” Experience the fate of Earth from the brand-new perspective of a special forces ODST (Orbital Drop Shock Trooper), adding a unique outlook and new gameplay elements to the events that unfold in the trilogy’s finale. This new chapter captures the same great feel of previous “Halo” experiences while offering fans new tactics, tools and weapons to defeat the Covenant.
# A new hero: Prepare to drop. ODSTs are highly-trained special forces operators. Known for their courage, valor and willingness to tackle missions no sane soldier would, ODSTs pride themselves on being the first unit deployed into hostile situations, often in one-man drop-pods that burn through planetary atmospheres at break-neck speed.
# Expanded multiplayer experience. No “Halo” game would be complete without groundbreaking multiplayer content. “Halo 3: ODST” introduces an entirely new way to play “Halo” with Firefight, a cooperative multiplayer mode included on the campaign disc that lets up to four people jump immediately into combat. As an ODST squad, you will face increasingly challenging waves of enemies together, striving to earn the highest scores possible, while various “Halo 3” “Skulls” are progressively activated. The experience is intense and ever-evolving. “Halo 3: ODST” also includes a separate, standalone multiplayer disc which includes three new “Halo 3” multiplayer maps, all original “Halo 3” maps, as well as the “Legendary,” “Heroic,” and “Mythic” Map packs for a total of 24 maps.
# Ever-growing community options. Players will continue to enjoy all the great “Halo 3” technological innovations, including Saved Films, screenshots, Campaign Scoring and four-player co-op over Xbox LIVE. All of the new “Halo 3” multiplayer maps fully support the Forge editor, offering near endless gameplay customization possibilities for fans
# Key to “Halo: Reach.” As a special bonus for fans, all copies of “Halo 3: ODST” will provide access to the “Halo: Reach” multiplayer beta when the beta goes live. More information about the “Halo: Reach” multiplayer beta will be shared at a later date

I think that the best gaming console would be a really good hand held PC with some gread solid state media and space to insert more.

Loaded up with roms and ems, it owuld be a dream, battery life, screen size etc and processor heat all to be considered, but watch this space.

p,s, best console of all time SNES!!!!

Aren't there already systems made to play emulators? I can't remember the name of one of them, but Tweeterman reviewed one of those kinds of consoles. Tons of Chinese rip-offs also are pretty much what you described, only crappy.

I'd say Nintendo may have a chance this time. This is only if they shape up. I don't mind what they are doing, but the whole casual gaming thing was already here, and they didn't need to make a buck off something that was being done to death. Halo? Casual in plenty of ways. Call of Duty? Do I even need to explain this one? Any online game? WoW is quite casual if you play it that way.

I don't care, or know for sure who will get the most sales, but Nintendo seems to like using gimmicks for a bit to get some more people in, and then go more hardcore. That was the case with the NES, anyway.

As for what I consider the better out of all the gaming consoles in existence, I'd say Genesis for old school, and Playstation 2 for our times. The PS2 is Sony's true success. It was able to kill off a console that was doing well with marketing, as well. The Genesis... Really. I don't care what Nintendo fanboys say, Mario saved the gaming industry, but it was the Genesis that gave us classics like Sonic the Hedgehog, the Shining series, Phantasy Star games, the fantastic Shinobi games, and many more. The SNES was good, and the NES was good, but I consider Sega to be the better producer of consoles. They made hardware that was well-built, and had many great games.

Its all about the 3ds: but in my day they made big deal of virtual reality and we went to the arcade paid £3 which was a fortune and the suff was terrible.

In Robotville, the citizens were not a happy lot,
a cyborg found a program on a secret microdot:
a clandestine report had warned that droids were full of risks,
so now mankind would start erasing all their data discs!

The 3DS is technically a hand-held, but I'm not the thread maker. I'm just the person replying. Obviously, Nintendo will dominate the hand held market like usual. The console market is a big "if" as none of the next gen consoles have been released to the public, and the current gen, while lackluster, is still going strong. It was basically another Bit War this time, but we still got a handful of good stuff. The generation before this one was so peaceful, it's funny. The Xbox was just doing its own thing. The PS2 was having a blast. The Gamecube was just in the corner where few cared to check on it. The GBA was all solo, and every creature was crushed. I actually miss that peaceful gen. It made for less pressure, and more creativity.

Now half the gaming scene is bickering about whether they should kill the PS3 or 360. The Wii, like the Gamecube, is just the red headed step child again. It seems like we're so flustered still due to all the new technology, and the new technology won't stop coming. It's almost like a hurricane if you get caught up.

I'd say the DS was the best handheld of the modern gaming gens. Out of the old school, Gameboy Color was significantly better than the original brick that played Tetris. It was good, but it needed so much improvement. The color on the go gaming was already being asked for, and most companies were doing color screens. The Gameboy only had an excuse for having such poor screen lighting, bad use of the black and white effect due to the green replacing the black, and so many other problems just because it was the cheaper option, and most people wanted that. I appreciate the Atari 2600, so I'm not saying it's bad for what it is. Its faults were the reason it could possibly be popular. It was cheap, and made by a company people trusted. If Sega made it, we'd be less likely to see it as a household name.

The Color version was just as bad in lighting, sadly, but it made some games much less of a hassle due to the color feature. It also was much more portable, and easier on the eyes.

3D without glasses has been done long before Nintendo decided to make it more known. We had TVs with this feature already, for one. The 3D is based on the eyes when it isn't without glasses. Now, TVs with the 3D effect that don't use glasses aren't widespread, nor are they practical, but they're out there.

Although I'm excited to see what new stuff Sony has in store for the future, right now I think the 3DS is gonna be a winner. I'm excited to see what kinds of new game ideas they will have for the 3ds, and I'm also excited to take LoZ:OoT around with me!

Rpg games do rock, but for them to rock, then they really really really (like to the power of x1000)have to rock, and I played Land Stalker thinkming that would rock and paif full price for it at the time, but really that game STANK.

Then I played a SNES game think it was EARTHBOUND and the only way that rocked was by pushing the fast forward button that sped up the oh so slow speech and fight scenes.

I love you all.

Thanks for replying

I'm looking forward to buying the new Nintendo 3DS. It's going to be released in the US/UK/AUS in March 2011 and Feb. 26 2011 in Japan.

Apparently "The console will have a 3D display without the need for glasses (known as autostereoscopy), using Parallax Barrier technology"

In reply to the Panasonic system, I doubt it'll be popular. For one, look at every other systems Panasonic were given the rights to make. Those mostly did terrible at the start or later in the system's life time. I don't see them doing any better. Besides, that handheld system may very well be another system that is hard to develop for, which is one reason for consoles that had potential failing. I just don't see such a company doing any better... It's hard to imagine with the failures on their gaming system report card.

I'm not looking forward to the 3DS, to be honest. It might just end up being utterly gimmicky. I will buy it, as I love the DS family systems, but I will not use the 3D. I don't think we need it. Handhelds are best without it in my point of view. I'd rather we keep the 3D in movie theaters and as TV things. It may end up being a flop for all we know. Just look at the Virtual Boy. This one has more potential than the infamous Virtual Boy, so I am not gonna say I hate it.

I think that the 3DS easily takes the cake, but I thitnk that the best new gaming technology would be a tie between that and Microsoft's Kinect. 3D technology and body-controlled gaming will soon be more accessible and will revolutionize the market.
