when you win a gym leader and they say this badge raises (for example)the defence stat of your pokemon how much does it raise and is it for all pokemon you own?and for hold items that boosts certain types of moves..how big of a boost is it?

I believe, that the raise in stats is very minimal, you can't see the change on the stat pages, but the game starts your stats off at about 95% and raises them to their full potential after you get the gym badge.
