My dentist was nice, but I found out I need to get braces and my orthodontist is whacko! Typical day:
"Hey, Buddy, open your mouth nice and wide for me"
I open my mouth wide.
"Oh, come on. You can open wider than that."
I strain to open wider.
"Seriously, now, I said open WIDE."
My jaw feels immense pain and tears stream down my face as he himself uses his own hands to try to force my mouth open wider.

I hate orthodontists!

i like my dentist, hes very nice actually same with orthodontist im very lucky from what Ive heard here. the one i hate the most are surgeons. first of all they see people naked i wouldn't trust anyone like that! second, they are cutting me open! so they see more of me than i do!! haha, third off, with one tiny mistake, i can easily die!!! i don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a bad plan for the day hahaha.

I dunno why you all hate the dentist, he can't kill you (unless with extreme force), the Surgeons can (not on purpose though, both are).

I put a lot of trust in doctors, therapists, dentists, etc... I always have, I guess it's just the way I am. They didn't go to ten plus years of medical school and gain no experience from it, y'know? I guess I'm lucky to have mainly positive experiences.

Going to an appointment has never bothered me... If there's one thing with the potential to be extremely awkward is the annual checkup with my OB/GYN. But it has never managed to be uncomfortable for me.

I do have a fear of needles, but it's not due to a fear of checkups.

DNG : I go my family doctor that helped deliver me. I know she's not lazy, and if she refers me to a specialist they probably aren't lazy either. Like I said, I'm lucky to have had good experiences with doctors, I'm also lucky to have had the same general practitioner my whole life.

I hate going to the Dentist or Orthodontist. You sit in the chair forever, they barely do anything, then you give them your life's savings. Also, you can't see what they're doing in your mouth, what if they're drawing little pictures or stealing your DNA or implanting a microphone or who knows what else. I think it's pointless to go to the family doctor, unless you've been vomiting everything you eat for three days or you have a tumor or something like that. All those psycho moms who take their kids to the doctor because s/he coughed once or had a runny nose just slow down the whole system and get their kid more sick by going into the doctor's waiting room and lobby.

A dentist because I'm not a trusting person and to have someone fiddle with the inside of my mouth is something I'd rather not do. Not being able to see what is being done inside my mouth makes me somewhat nervous...but I know it's to repair and not destroy so that make's me feel a bit better through the experience.
