It is tough to say which movies are overrated… I will say that I never understood the whole Harry Potter or Twilight craze but that’s me. I will say that more and more movies with big budgets seem to put an over emphasis on special effects and sensationalism more than a good all around story that carries the movie. I am one that feels 2012 was a good movie but I can see others point of view when someone says that the movie didn’t have enough story to it.

It could be one underlining reason that their starting to remake movies from the 80s. It’s kind of sad that with all the technology advancements that have been going on the last decade that it seems that it makes people over compensate on what they can do with special effects when they have a considerably big budget to make a movie that it makes me think that there just isn’t as much creativity as there use to be.

It makes me laugh sometimes thinking about all these big budgeted “Blockbusters” that people come out with mixed reactions to after considerable hype of a movie then I think about a movie like Pulp Fiction (One of my favorites) that didn’t have a big budget from what I understand and was way ahead of it’s time in terms of how the movie was presented.

It does make me wonder what will happen to movies in the next twenty or so years when it seems like the philosophy from the film makers seems more and more to be leaning on special effects and big budgets rather than telling a compelling story.

The whole Twilight Saga, it's so lame, and all the girls in my school worshipping it is even worse.
Avatar- it was OK and all, but being released in theaters AGAIN? Seriously? It's just basically a rip-off of a ton of H.P. Lovecraft stories...
The Dark Knight- it was soooo boring, everyone says it's so "action packed" but the only halfway decent parts were in the beginning.
E.T.- UGGHH, this movie was soo boring! The only part that didn't totally bore me was the end.

I have to say that I agree about 2001: A Space Oddysey, I left my brothers and parents who were watching it after what seemed like four hours to read a book.

One movie that probably nobody will agree with me on is Napolean Dynamite. I didn't find it funny, I found it to be a waste of time to watch.
