The first final fantasy I ever played was the actual first one. Or, more specifically dawn of souls for the Gameboy Advance.  I'm still playing it, and I might have gotten to the end by now if my save file hadn't been deleted DX  So yeah, I've been trying to get into the franchise for a while now, but I want to play them all in order, which is very time consuming.  And I really want to play VI, because I hear its just s good as chrono trigger, and chrono trigger is the best.

The first Final Fantasy I ever played was the remake of the first game on the PSP. Needless to say, it was amazing. The second I turned on the game, I was instantly hooked, and it is my favorite Final Fantasy so far (haven't played VI or VII).

I may be remembering wrong, but I believe it was Final Fantasy V. I ended up playing it through the RGR, and died pretty early on without saving once throughout the game. It was kind of painful, since I went through quite a bit to get where I did, but I overall just gave up on the series after it due to the lack of interest I had in it, Nya~.

The First one For N.E.S.
Nintendo power magazine had some contest to win a vacation I think.
Had something to do with the photo and a Tower I think.
Any way I never got to the tower and I was bored out of my skull with the game. I couldn't comprehend why Nintendo power had such Awesome Art depicting this game. I was just a kid but I didn't buy the magazine after that for a long time. Not till the Zelda Comics for the S.N.E.S. game were printed. ...And Not another after.
Back to Final Fantasy.
I didn't get hooked until number 4 came out. (We called it part 2 in the U.S.)
That thing was an amazing display of talent compared to the first game. Why Final Fantasy was not "The Final Game" of the company is beyond me still.
But the fourth instalment was a brilliant invention. All the effects, the story, the characters, the music. ... That game was made to suck in young males and get them spending cash on these digital comic books. Fun times and a great way to kill a few hours of boredom.
That's my tale of Final Fantasy Firsts.
Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

The first Final Fantasy I ever played was Final Fantasy IV although it was originally released as Final Fantasy II in America for the SNES. To date it is still the best Final Fantasy I have played but most likely for the nostalgia of playing it when I was so little after watching my Aunt play it and plugging all of us youngsters' names in as the characters based on how we all acted at the time. I don't remember who all of us were but I do remember that I was Porom aka Polom here in the US one of the mage twins.

First one to me was Final Fantasy VII. My brother got it, we both played it, loved it and had to get more. I still have yet to beat Emerald Weapon, just can't get that darn thing destroyed no matter what.

I honestly cannot be sure what was the first Final Fantasy game I played... I never played it when I had a Nintendo, never had my own Super Nintendo, and only started hearing of it when our home first got the Internet. I grew up on Dragon Warrior, and only sometimes heard of Final Fantasy from classmates, but never understood it.

My first experience with Final Fantasy was with ROMs. The first was either the original Final Fantasy, or Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. I was not impressed with either, thought Mystic Quest was a little more addictive to me.

The first one I actually beat and enjoyed, however, was Final Fantasy 9. A VERY excellent game, and on I wish the rest of the Final Fantasies followed.

Final Fantasy 2(IV) for the SNES was the first for me. I have played this game beginning to end over 50 times and still go back from time to time. It's among my most cherished games of all time.

The first one. I never finished it tough. It was fun until I got on the boat. After that, I got lost and didn't care to try to find out how to get back or where to go.

Long ago I swore myself to never play any Final Fantasy game in the mainstream series, aka: any one with a number in front of it. I added the number bit after playing a really fun castle defense game on one of my friend's PS3 only to find out they were there to witness my first Final Fantasy gaming experience. After that incidence, my first INTENTIONAL Final Fantasy game was the Rhythm game demo for the 3ds, but you could argue a demo doesn't truly count as a video game or a true gaming experience, so I guess we should move on to my third and final, well, Final (funny) Fantasy gaming experience, which was on this very website, which was a game I found by watching my friend play it on an emulator he had downloaded at my house, and that game was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Game Boy Advance. Is it weird if me and my fore mentioned, I'm not sure I used that word correctly but whatever, friend already had an inside joke because of this game before I ever even thought to, or got motivated enough to play it? Ah well, listen to me ramble on like an old man, just without the wisdom. Goodbye now.
