I think what you mean't to ask was "post more", I can fix that for you if you want. Besides that I say yeah, it gives people something to work for per se and maybe even gives them some motivation to post more at times. Kind of looks cool as well.

I think it does. It makes me proud to think that I posted 25 times in a day, and then slightly disgusted that I actually spent so much time to post 25 or more posts in a day. It is a cool thing to gain, and I do like seeing my name in italics more than in regular print. It makes me post so much more- I try to get my name in italics at least every time I log into Viz, which really helps bring up my post count, so double win for the system. I think its a great idea to generate more posts and thus more traffic. Of course, having the different syndromes also helps as well.

The problem is those that do care that much about it might often go about getting it the wrong way, ie spamming.
