Yes, I think we are. At least my mom isn't. Most of us wouldn't last an entire day without electronics. Except really old people who just read books.

BTowns : Glad I could be of assistance… I don’t know what the definition is of “Internet addiction” but I do feel that more and more jobs are computer related so for most computers would be viewed as a necessity more than material. I for one work out of my house so it’s beneficial…

As much as I love and wish I could go back to the 80s, I don’t know how some people would react to not having the technology advancements that we have today. I know that I would likely have to use a type writer to do my work so it wouldn’t be that big of an adjustment for me.

Perhaps “Internet addiction” would be a more accurate term for those who seem to be addicted to social networking. (The ones you hear about on the news etc.) I personally can’t see what the benefits of it are and prefer to take an old school approach to things but that’s just me.

gameface138 : you do know that most of the world exists now on computer.... your money is just a bunch of 0's and 1's, unless you have some cash. Most of the transportation infrastructure is computer controlled now. And tons of other things.... if computers crashed or there was a super-virus or something.... we would lose so much of what we are right now.

Oh, and not to mention how dependent our communication is on computers. Most of us would not be able to communicate outside of our neighbourhood without computers.
