Have you ever been to a real life equivalent of a Pokemon region?

Have you ever been to a part of the world a Pokemon region is based on? If so how do you feel Pokemon did at capturing the feel of the location?

I've been to 2 one being New York City which I never left the airport so I can't speak too much on it but flying in and seeing all the big buildings definitely did give Castelia City so uh good job Pokemon lol.

The other I've been to is England or well more specifically London which is the inspiration to Wyndon which I have more thoughts on, for starters Wyndon is weird in Sword and Shield and I've always kinda thought so for a final town and being the biggest region in the city it just feels so empty. I mean you have big London landmarks being referenced like Big Ben and the London Eye or I'm pretty sure the stadium where you battle is supposed to be Wembley. As for getting the vibes right and such right though I think it does a really good job with having characters talk like they are from the UK and such.

I've been to the Kanto region (Tokyo) in Japan, which is what the Kanto Pokemon region is based on. I've also been to the Kansai region (Kyoto, Osaka), which was the inspiration for Johto.

I grew up on Long Island, so I've been to New York City (Unova) plenty of times.

That's it for me as of right now, but I'm likely going to Hawaii in February or March of next year, so soon I may be able to cross Alola off the list too.

I've been to the European based ones.

Kalos in France. I've been all across France basically, including Paris or Lumiose City.

Galar in the UK. I've only ever been to London though, so I haven't fully explored Galar yet.

And Paldea in Spain. I've been to Barcelona, which I think is around the starting city? Or at least there's the mosaic garden or whatever that I visited. Haven't been to all of Spain or any of Portugal yet.

If I ever go Japan I'm definitely visiting all the regions there. That would leave Unova in New York, Alola in Hawaii, and the new region in Indonesia

I was born and raised in New York City, so i've been in Unova a good chunk of my life. Thats pretty much the only region i've been to so far. I have no plans to go to other region equivalents yet.

I've been to Galar a couple times. I've visited London, Sheffield and Manchester, which is not much but it's something. I've been wanting to go back and explore more of it but I'm trying to see interesting things to visit that catch my attention more than other places (for example neighboring Ireland and the Guinness factory).

Obviously, I've also been to Paldea. I've traveled far and wide through Spain, being the country I live in, and I've also been to neighboring Portugal and Andorra which make up the region. I've surely been or have been around many of the inspirations that made up the region, though I must say I'm surely missing a lot more since there's still many places in my own country I haven't seen yet.

I've been to France but only the southern regions close to the Spanish border, so I haven't reached Kalos yet. Actually, the closest I've been to Kalos is when I've been to the western regions of Germany, which makes it more funny. I could probably explore it in the future, we'll see.

As for the Japanese and American regions, they seem way out of reach. I don't have plans on going to any of them due to budget reasons, which is a shame because there are a lot of interesting places to see, but it's what it is.
