Hau is honestly my least favorite rival. He started the tradition of the rival having the starter weak to yours. Like yeah sun and moon games especially the ultra ones can be kinda hard but your rival should actually be hard and not a complete cake walk. Like I feel he should have been the main character we just took over.

Hop is pretty bad (in my opinion), but Hau is even worse. He's too buddy buddy with you from the beginning and doesn't have the competitive drive that good rivals have.

Also, his team is pretty weak and unbalanced for 90% of the game.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget, his only personality traits (if you can even call it that) is malasadas... that's it.

For me it's probably Silver. Pokemon Gold has always been myn favorite Pokemon game but I just didn't really like him as a character that much.

The X and Y rivals are terrible and I'm shocked no one has said it yet on this thread I couldn't tell you a thing about Calem or Serena personality wise as the rival at all.

Anyone after Hugh was a huge waste of space. I guess Nemona was okay, though still a bit annoying.

The Kalos ones were literal NPCs with no personality. I think we legit see Trevor like twice in the whole game, couldn't tell you anything about him. Tierno dances which I guess is a bit fun, but the rest suck.

I have little hopes for the Gen 10 rival at this rate, but who knows.
