You saw the title, and I was wondering that, what is the trick? When it's 12:45 AM and I can't sleep, I don't know what to do

I find telling myself a story in my mind works.

It's almost like starting a dream in your head before you're asleep and eventually as you tell the story you start to fall asleep.

Not sure if that will help or not but it seems to work for me.

I read the title and I thought someone was reprimanding me? "You did XYZ? How do you sleep at night?!"

The short answer to your question is physical exhaustion. It's not enough for however many hours to have passed since I woke up. In most cases, when I've spent all day working at my computer, it will take me and hour or two to fall asleep, regardless of how late it is. But if I am physically exhausted, if I spent a lot of time moving around during the day, I can fall asleep almost instantly.

To give an example, I used to be able to fall asleep easily during the summers when I worked at a summer camp. I would spent 8 hours (ore more; in fact, usually more) each day running around in the hot sun. I was physically exhausted by bed time, so falling asleep was not a problem.

Another example would be the 5 months that I worked at Disney World. On my feet all day, again in the hot sun, with shifts lasting upwards of 13.5 hours. I feel asleep faster during my Disney College Program than any other point in my life.

And now, when I go to Disney with my wife when I have a day off and I walk over 20,000 steps, I fall asleep much quicker than the days when I sit at my desk.

My suggestion for you, then, would be to do things during the day that make you physically tired. In other words, exercise.

tgags123: I sleep with a binky and a nite lite with a bird. Warm milk and a bed time story so I don’t get scared from the boogeyman under my bed asking for spare change every night before he walks out and goes outside again. He stunk so bad like no shower boogeyman

I mean usually I can sleep so easily from exhaustion after a 12 hour work schedule from my job. If not then I just go to bed, get comfortable with a YouTube video or twitch and just watch a bit before turning it off and call it a night. I fall asleep easily with a blank mind and letting my body just stay motionless unless I have to move to get comfortable. Eyes closed and just feel weightless I guess. Within 2-5 minutes I’m knocked out so deep that I rarely dream I guess or I don’t remember much? Either way it’s just my way of hitting the hay

Do pushups until you can't anymore and then lie down with your eyes closed and do absolutely nothing.

Well, I usually don't have to do much to go to sleep. Sometimes I need to lay on my side to do it, but most of the time, I'm able to fall to sleep just fine.

I normally have to start laying on my stomach facing my head to the left while having youtube on in the background then once my body decides that not comfy I can roll over so my head's facing to the right and fall asleep depends on the day but normally takes between 15-45 minutes once I'm in bed.

I don't.

When I turn my phone of for the night (bad habit before going to bed, I know), I turn on my ceiling fan and my air purifier. I always turn my fan on (even now in winter) because I like to have air circulation while I sleep. If the room is stuffy or still, I'd struggle to fall asleep if at all. I also have my air purifier on because it provides white noise in the form of a quiet whirring sound that helps me fall asleep easier. I also have a sleep mask I wear over my eyes sometimes to block out light from outside, but I haven't used it recently because it's winter now and it's usually pitch black outside by nighttime.

It's definitely still a struggle for me to turn my brain off and wind down for the night, but these three things help make it easier for me to get decent sleep most nights.

Why is this in Video Game Craziness?

Anyway, I also have trouble sleeping. I normally do something that makes my eyes heavy, which is normally looking at my phone, and then trying to sleep. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I can only sleep on my back, no other way, which can be annoying.
