Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)
Gray Banner: Veteran member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who signed up more than 7 years ago)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing


Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

Let the games begin!

Guess I'll be spending the next couple of days being on a screenshot parade (making them mostly I work three days a week I need something to keep me in the top five on days when I have to be at work) before I figure out which game will get the big screenshot dump but it could be stuff carried over from last year (it's a long story I'll talk about it when I make my end of tour story time thread) and last tour I said I would likely be scaling back on reviews because I was completely worn out from last time and will only post reviews on review double CP day, even though I made it clear I was going to aim more for actions than CPs, even though it would be nice if I could get that ever so elusive rainbow jersey

So now would be a good a time as any for a song to get stuck in my head, and to make a list of games I played during the day, among other things that would be a big help

I’m not competing this TdV due to working and just focusing more on personal interests in life

Have fun guys I don't have the time, energy, or motivation to compete seriously this time around I might try and compete here and there but I would have to make sacrifices I'm not willing to make to compete the entire month this go around.

That said I hope someone new wins!

Oh I'm so pretty with that rainbow banner on me, and now to try and strengthen my lead, a two point margin is a small margin but it's a start

Well, the first points of 2023 came on a day where it was totally unexpected, I almost even forgot January meant the colorful explosion of jerseys xD

I will mostly score sporadically during this first week as I'm finishing the semester. After that will come the time to prepare exams, and the last 10 days I should be entirely free for anything. We'll see if I can get to work around something during these periods, there are a few minor things I still want to accomplish in this competition.

Heh, that was fun, can't remember the last time I won a jersey.

Don't think I have it in me to go for the rainbow or any of the overall jerseys but, maybe I'll compete some other days now that the competition isn't too bad. Makes it so I can actually have a shot at winning a jersey without having to stay up all night.

The fact SonicOlmstead isn’t competing means one thing, he’s retiring. How he just goads about being the best TdV contestant ever and how he did so much better than zanderlex on every category to retrieve all those jerseys throughout his years. Oh surely the passing of the torch shouldn’t burn out just yet. For this, we must press “F” for Sonic.

Certainly didn't have a Zlinqx return on my New Year's Bingo.

Zlinqx : Yeah, I know all too well the timezone disadvantage. I literally lost a second TdV win because I was comfortably sleeping, luckily I didn't sacrifice my sleep nor compromised my real life in any way in the whole month to drown in the shore like that.

Despite that disadvantage, overall Yellow and Blue are perfectly plausible given the current activity and, to an extent, the specialization of the current participants. Red and Green are impossible because it's absurdly easy to skyrocket through the ranks there, and the competition has always been fierce for those lately.

I sincerely hope you do participate somewhat, we two are the only ones in the veteran battle (because all the others have already won it before) and I can give you a run for your money if I truly intend it xD

EX Palen : Preach. My sleep schedule was so out of whack when I won the summer 2015 one (and I'm well aware of the irony in saying that now). Even when I was just going for the green jersey later. I really lived and breathed this place.

I think that was the last summer I spent living at home without any other things to focus on too. I'm glad I took the chance, it really solidified my time on here. Starting to feel so long ago now, but in hindsight I still enjoyed a lot of it despite the struggle. Made a lot of memories during that competition and in its aftermath.

Barathemos : Heh, that makes two of us.

I think I needed some time fully away from this place to focus on other things and sort myself out (felt that I was being pulled in different directions). Now I made a decision to check back and feel a lot more relaxed being here. Competing for a little bit is fun. Even if it is just to relive that old feeling.

EX Palen : I kind of disagree in regards to blue it kind of is difficult to obtain considering the forum posting rules about how much you can post in a certain thread or area

and it doesn't really help that I made it a little more difficult for myself as I had decided to scale back writing game reviews (though I do have four ready for the double CP days)

I competed in the last one, so I think I will compete in this one. My goal will be to get into the top 10.

becerra95 : Thanks for the great speech on my retirement from tdv I wanted to win green 7 times in a row but 6 tdvs where I seriously competed for top 3 and normally top 2 in a row was too much I don't really remember the whole bragging part but it was a good run of tdvs better to retire now after I won the last one I seriously competed in then to keep going till I'm old and washed up.

SonicOlmstead : don’t be so hard on yourself. Everyone gets to that age where carpal tunnel can be a serious problem in their livelihood. Can’t type, can’t snap, can’t even mod games or play even with the condition. We understand, even though you’re in denial.

Though in all seriousness, great to see activity picking up during the first month of the new year. Seeing surprises like Zlinqx getting the veteran jersey and the fact he’s even competing, somewhat. We just need zanderlex unless he’s retired too from carpal tunnel affecting his livelihood. We’re getting old

excellent I still have my lead, and it's a Screenshot Double CP day, and now I have to make sure that I stay in the top five today, since I had to work today, now where did this new unknown dude come from come from?

Well at least I will have more time tomorrow because I will be leaving work early due to an appointment though I might be busy installing a program tomorrow

Wow, I managed quite the decent performance yesterday even though I wasn't trying anything serious. My wordy nature keeps paying its dividends year after year xD

With this, now I've barely managed to snatch 6th overall in total points. It's gonna be a very long while until I have the chance to actually chase 5th, but still I'm glad I could do this so early on. I feel confident in tackling my other goals for the month, so I might as well get everything prepared just in case unexpected competition pops up.

classgame : The jersey on itself is hard to obtain, it's true, but I was referencing the fact that timezones don't affect it that much. That's the main problem we Europeans encounter when trying to participate here, the day has already ended for me whereas most of you still have several hours to use.

Zlinqx : Yeah, participating seriously in the TdV is always filled with good memories, even when said participation is occasional. Pushing yourself to the limit and challenging your capabilities is an enjoyable experience.

And yes, it's good to take the chance even if it's just once before you no longer have it. It's better to look back and feel no regret, rather than feeling you could have tried a bit more. As long as you're being realistic with yourself, that is.
