For those of us who love the horror genre of gaming, we are challenged with the question of which survival horror game is the best, Resident Evil or Silent Hill? Resident Evils my vote. They got good puzzles, good zombies, fun stories, and just been around alot longer then Silent Hill.

Yeah, I'll have to vote for resident evil in this debate. I always had the most scares from Resident evil, and basically that's what the purpose of a horror game is. Still, Silent hill is not that bad, but is beaten.

I wish Resident Evil would go back back to zombies though :,( What's with the parasite crap. Sure the fourth one was addictive to play (I've never played the 5th one) but it feels like they're forgetting the important things in life.....killing zombies XD

Im going with Silent Hill. It was hard and scary and well as fun.

Resident is awesome too though and pretty creepy...but thats all, just creepy. Although Resident Evil 4 is one of my top 10 (Number 6) It just wasn't as scary as Silent Hill
(Wich Ironicaly takes up place 5 on my list.)

I've played more resident evil games, but probably because I think they're more fun. I enjoy zombies and the zombie genre, and you get to kill lots of them in Resident evil. Silent hill is really spooky and messed up, but I didn't find it as fun.

Its a tough choice, but I enjoy the flat out insanity of Silent Hill more. It uses subtlety and atmosphere in a way that is unique and tense. Silent Hill 2 was my favorite, and its story was very adult, mature, and psychological. It was anything but straight forward, so I spent a lot of time analyzing the themes and drawing out profound ideas about life. Certainly not something everyone can appreciate, but I dig it.
