Let us all celebrate that Earth has completed its ninth lap around the sun since the day I happened to register here!

Okay, now put your drinks down, because things get serious from here on. Basically, we use these threads to reflect on what we've achieved site-wise in this period of time, but I don't have much to say on that aspect I'm afraid. I ended 2021 with a decent level of activity, but in comes 2022 and I have essentially gone MIA in this beautiful Land of V.

Since I moved out, I'm having trouble coming back here. I basically made life on my room when living with my parents, but now I'm free to use my whole place as I wish. I'm building new habits, taking care of things, and that's mainly the reason why I don't even turn on the computer for days. Not even when I was left alone at my parents' house did this happen.

For those thinking that's not the entire story... you're absolutely right. Life is basically throwing adversities at me one after another, and I'm currently enduring my toughest time in this planet. Right now I'm under preparation for a colonoscopy because apparently my medication isn't doing its job anymore and I might need a change. And this isn't the worst of them all.

Enough with the somberness. I'd like to be active around here, even if it's not everyday as it used to be, and I want to return to writing. I need to keep myself productive until my course resumes, and I definitely need to get some hobbies to kill time. I just hope real life allows me to fulfill these "promises" to a certain degree.

Next year will be a special celebration, so I hope I can say I'm active once again. And hopefully it won't be such a somber celebration as this year, but I can't promise that.

And for all of you americans reading this, since Europe is ahead of you in the timezone aspect, happy 4th of July! Having a festive monday is one of the best things in the world, so enjoy it to its fullest if you can.

I mean 9 years is quite an accomplishment, especially when times are different on this site compared to years ago. I know life can change dramatically once you’re out on your own and able to have your freedom. Less time on computer and more time on enjoying the smaller things in life

Though I remember your talk about the situation from my earlier threads and I’m sorry the situation hasn’t gotten any better. I do hope your colonoscopy goes smoothly for you and helps with your situation

Annndd I realize the word smoothly and no pun intended I’m sorry

becerra95 : Puns that only make sense in a single language are the best of them all.

Things did go smoothly, but sadly immediate action needs to be taken. Nothing life-threatening or such, just countermeasures to not let my disease run rampant as it apparently wants. I'll have more news on that on Friday.

And yes, enjoying the smaller things in life has increased my life quality. I do miss my old habits, but it's not like the new things that have overshadowed them are bad. I just need to build a routine, get my head clear and it will all go... smoothly xD

EX Palen : We have some things in common. I was very active on this site on my earlier days on here. Then life threw a knuckleball at me.

I kept getting sick with pulmonary and gastro problems. My doctors tried to treat me, but I was not getting better. They diagnosed me with several different conditions. Therefore, I became less active on here. The problems went away and I returned to being more semi-active on this site. Then the problems came back. My endocrinologist sent me to a new pulmonary doctor. I was put through the ringer with testing.

My gastro doctor did new tests on me. Finally, I got the correct diagnosis. It turned out I never had the conditions doctors in my past diagnosed me with. It was revealed I have Celiac and Crohn's. Also, my pulmonary problems were autoimmune. My treatment changed and while i still have a few bad days. I am doing much better, which is one reason I'm back.

tornadocam : Wow, mixing in being Celiac with Crohn is absolute hell. Two very specific diets and habits collide there, so you're having a way harder time than me.

Glad to hear you at least got the right medication to feel mostly good. The body is grateful, once you give it what it needs to work it responds diligently and efficiently so it's important to feel comfortable with whatever treatment you're going through.
