I have in development, a few big updates to the Retro Game Room.

New RGR Experience = Easier Navigation for Keyboard and Controller
I'm working on a new page for the Retro Game Room that allows you to navigate through the games with just a keyboard or controller. This new experience is suppose to make the RGR feel more like a game system, and is also great for when people want to play games in the RGR on an Xbox or PlayStation.

Using a keyboard, controller (or a mouse), you can select from a menu in order to filter through what you're searching for. The games are displayed horizontally, and there will be more game lists displayed horizontally (like what's trending, most played, etc). When you select a game, it gives brief details about the game. When you click to play the game, you're either taken to the game's page, or the game launches right there.

Something else I'm experimenting with, and I'm not sure if I'll be going through with this or not, is a more compact way of navigating through games where the game boxes overlap each other.

When a game is selected, the games near it move to the right so that the boxart can be more easily seen. I personally love this look because it allows for more games to be seen at a time, and it gives it more of an authentic look. The only down side is, having to add the 3D boxes to the games (I have the graphics, but assigning them to their appropriate game could be time consuming).

I don't think this "New RGR Experience" is going to replace the current (unless enough people wanted it to be the default), but I definitely want it to be promoted and used, since I find it to be easier to navigate and more appealing to look at.

I hope to have a beta available to be used within the next few days. I might make it go live within a week (it'd be unfinished, since I have a lot of ideas for it and would slowly add them as time goes on).

New Game Systems Coming Soon
I've added a new version of EmulatorJS to the site, and this has added more systems to the site.

New Systems
-3DO: There are currently only 2 games available at the moment but I have files for almost all of the 3DO games, so it's just a matter of adding those files to those games. You can see the available games here: https://www.vizzed.com/play-3do/
-DS: I'm not sure how many DS games I'd add, since it's a large library of games and the games are big in file size (and not to mention it being a newer system, more legal issues). However, I have added 1 game so far that you guys can test out: Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing

Updated Systems (systems that previously didn't support HTML5, or not very well)
-Atari Jaguar
-PlayStation
-Sega 32X

Systems Coming Soon
-Sega Saturn
-Sega CD

A lot of this is made possible thanks to a newer version of EmulatorJS, and my modifications to it. Most of the systems that EmulatorJS supports also support netplay, which I mention in this thread. I still haven't put together a good way of handling netplay yet (via a new netplay lobby), but that is also coming soon, hopefully within a week.

EDIT: Here's a demo for you guys to test out
https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/scroll.php

It's still not ready but you can try it out to get an idea of my direction.

I think this is a neat little update. I've never been a huge fan of retroarch, but one thing I do love is the available front-end options, many of which come with controller navigation, this is very much like that.

So you mentioned box art and having to add 3d graphics. Would that mean the 3d boxart thing that used to be in the VGR is returning? I know you can still add them at least when I looked last but they can't be seen like a game case you would see in person.

It's finally happening, good to hear!

I'll try to set aside some time to test this, maybe during the last third of this month. I want to check how PSX goes in here and I want to test that DS too, see if my PC can get it running.

The summer looks promising for Vizzed. Bring the heat on xD

Here's a short demonstration of it in action

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F9a2vLdcYg

pokemon x : I could someday bring that back but this wouldn't be that. These would be images rather than a 3D model.

EX Palen : PlayStation works pretty well. DS also works well, but the graphics just don't look the greatest, very pixelated looking.

Davideo7 : okay so the new navigation looks fantastic (I hope you will consider doing something like this for the bookmarks pages), I'm actually stunned that you're planning on getting DS games on here, I hope they will work on RetroArch (because RetroArch works best on the computer I normally use, and if we're lucky this could mean more reviews in the lineup heck maybe even a playing of YDKJ for DS)

I imagine some Nintendo games won't work here because well Nintendo and DMCA....

Sounds like some very big news to be excited over. I can't wait to try this out this new User Interface on my Xbox Series X.

Here's a demo for you guys to test out
https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/scroll.php

It's still not ready but you can try it out to get an idea of my direction.

classgame : When you say bookmarks pages, which page do you mean specifically? I do plan to make it so that you can navigate all games that you've liked, bookmarked, and have added to your queue.

DS games would most likely work with RetroArch. They already do work with EmulatorJS, which is basically a version of RetroArch.

TouchMaster97 : Feel free to give it a test, using the above URL.

I sort of made expected an aesthetic more like Project Eris on Playstation Classic. It feels flatter than anticipated, but the scroll works fine on my tablet, maybe a little too easy to accidentally click on something.

pennylessz : I haven't really optimized it much for touch screen devices yet. Should be a little bit better once I'm done.

Davideo7 :

I tried the DS-emulator and the sonic game. I was really convinced, how well this game ran in a browser actually.

So this makes games quite easily to access on a linux system.

Thank you for that.

But one question came to my mind.
How are probabilities to be able to play DS-games with multiplayer functionality?
And how might such a playing-session look like on this plattform?
