The demo for Monster Hunter rise just came out a couple days ago and I already put a couple hours into it.

So far, I think it's amazing. The two biggest praises that I have for the game are the graphics and the areas that you get to play in. I've been playing the demo in handheld all the time and I loved how their were no load screens in one map. The older Monster Hunter games on mobile consoles were notorious for each places being broken up into a bunch of small areas with long load times going back and forth between each area. I hated that on mobile games.

The graphics are also especially good for the Switch, I personally think they are way better than how Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate looked and felt. There's so much more detail and the controls and animations seem a lot more responsive and smooth, though still a little rough at times, making it difficult to correct attacks if the enemy suddenly moves another direction.

There were some thing I didn't like though, like the lightning thing where you get to swing across the map. It seems very lackluster, especially compared to what we see in the trailers. I used it and only went forward like 5 feet. Hopefully there's ways to upgrade that ability in the actual game.

I also loved riding, it's fun just hopping on your companion and just running through the map, exploring the scenery, I remember there was one time where I was doing the intermediate course and I just rode all the way around and back down to the starting area and it took a couple minutes because of how big the area was.

I also really like the assortment in weapons and classes to choose from, I think there was like 12 to 16. So far, I'm really looking forward to Monster Hunter Rise.
