I haven't been here since what it feels like forever, nowdays with the quarantine i have some time to speend and remembered this site and how its still viable to enjoy some dose of gool old retro gaming, but i wanted to see if there's any hidden gems that you guys could recomend me on any platform in this site.

One I can think of is VICE: Project Doom. It may not be the most original game out there, nicking elements from Ninja Gaiden and Spy Hunter, but it incorporates all of them well. It looks and sounds great for the time, and manages to walk the thin line of challenge without feeling cheap or overly difficult. I feel like it aged very well, maybe even better than the original Ninja Gaiden did.

I would go with Summon Night 1 & 2 for GBA. or Monster Rancher Advance 2. None of those games are really talked about enough.

Welcome back to Vizzed! I also came back because of the quarantine. I think it's neat that you want to play games that are not as well known! I play a lot of games that are well-known, but there are some that seem to be less known that I think look pretty cool. The only suggestion my uninformed mind has is VVVVVV, but I don't know if that is already well-known.

It's hard to find games that are 'obscure' because just about everyone
has already covered them, they're not hidden anymore.

To find truly obscure, you need to go outside your comfort zone and risk playing bad games.
Take the Commodore 64, a system you can get hundreds of games for dirt cheap,
back in the wild west of gaming, back when anyone could publish a game,
and therefore there is a varying wave of quality all across the board.

However, I am not partial to that world either.
I can recommend some good and interesting games that are on here though.

(SNES) Shin Megami Tensei 1, Shin Megami Tensei 2, Shin Megami Tensei if...,
Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei (Digital Devil Story 1 and 2)
are among my favorites, though mostly the first games.
DDS2 and SMT2 are kind of meh in my opinion.
Has some really cool moments and brings SMT to a close,
but by the 2nd half I had a guide open in another tab.

(SCD, SNES, TGCD) Popful Mail. Really really solid action platformer.
There's a few versions but I recommend the Sega CD version.
It is considered one of the greatest gems, I'd say.
Finding a physical copy of the game on sale
goes for outrageous amounts of money online.

(PS1) Vagrant Story is not hardly known, but very few who've played it can claim to have beaten it.
The game starts off with a simple battle system, but after the first boss, you are introduced to,
and have to quickly learn a quick time event battle system, and that's when most people quit.

(PS1) Parasite Eve II is essentially Square Enix's take on Resident Evil.
Ammo is near infinite, and you are expected to exterminate everything
and even be prepared to dump hundreds of bullets on enemies.
Also there's magic psychic powers. You will probably not understand a lot
of what's going on if you haven't seen the events of the first game, though.
This game has been getting a lot of hate recently and I really don't see why.
This game is much better than PE1 in my opinion.

(PS1) Koudelka is a turn-based gothic horror RPG with limited items,
breakable weapons, and your stats are very heavily influenced by the equipment you use.
It's also very short. You can potentially beat this game without fighting any random encounters.
Can we call this a survival horror RPG? Highs and lows all around.

(N64) Space Station Silicon Valley, a charming game about hijacking robotic animals
and using their unique abilities to accomplish your goals in each level.
I would not recommend playing this on emulator though,
last time I tried, N64 emulation for me has been very bad.

(GBC) Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as it is called overseas was retitled to Metal Gear Solid.
Confused? What it is, is Metal Gear on Game Boy. It's actually very impressive for the hardware it's on.
Very good game, but quite hard to find and costly.
Unfortunately - I'm not sure if this is an issue with emulator or the specific rom used on here -
but chaff grenades do not work on emulator and by that extension
you cannot complete a certain portion of the game because of it.

(GBA) Riviera: The Promised Land is a very complex hybrid of a game.
It's an RPG, but that by itself is a very broad term. It has weapon durability like Fire Emblem,
and it's also kind of an adventure game, but also kind of a dating simulator... It's complicated.

(NES, SNES, GEN, TGCD, MSX) Valis is an entire series
you may not have even heard of. Or maybe you have.
Pretty average sidescroller platformers, though not all the games are translated,
and some games like Mugen Senshi Valis are extremely labyrinth-like
and you will probably have to make your own maps (or look up a walkthrough...)

(GBA) Klonoa Heroes - Densetsu no Star Medal... Of all the Klonoa games that never happened,
we never got this one because it was considered too non-inclusive.
This game was never translated, and it is entirely in Japanese, but it is a really fun game.
If you play it, you can still figure it out without understanding a single word.

(GBA) Summon Night - Craft Sword Monogatari - Hajimari no Ishi is Summon Night 3.
The GBA version isn't translated, but it is translated on PSP. But screw that!
You can beat this relatively well without understanding most of it.
There is a lot of boss fights, many of which will make you question
if you're even supposed to win. Don't expect any forced losses.

(PS1) Tail Concerto is part of a game series
called Little Tail Bronx which I actually quite enjoyed.
There's a second game on the DS called Solatorobo, and
Cyberconnect has been teasing a sequel to it forever.
They did come out with Little Tail Story (rock-paper-scissors puzzle mobile game)
and there's another game called Fuga: Melodies of Steel that will be
coming out later this year on Nintendo Switch, but that's a TRPG.
With all these spinoffs, it's sad to say it'll probably end up like
Mega Man Legends 3 and we'll never get a true sequel.

(MSX) Penguin Adventure, the sequel to Antarctic Adventure,
is the time honored tale of the fastest penguin in the world in a run
across the South Pole and back while dodging evil smiley faces,
gambling in the casino using fish as currency, and buying a gun from Santa Claus.
Yes, this all really happens. This game really isn't that obscure though.

ElDaves : Any game in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series. With what I reccommend being Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. I want people to try so much I don't even care if you break out the old Emulator and go sailing the seven seas.

It will change your life...well maybe not that much, but it will be a good time.
