Bobbynibbles : To what, pray tell, are you changing it? And quite frankly Bobby, you aren't exactly the nicest guy to us.
My stance is: if the Bible's against it, so am I. Considering how the Bible's teachings are the most peaceful and helpful for society out there, it kind of makes sense. Don't even start with the whole "discrimination" argument. The Bible tells us not to judge. We can warn the people, but we are told to refrain from condemning them and shunning them. Rather, we are told to show loving kindness even to those who do wrong. "Love your enemy" is certainly the best moral teaching I've ever come across.

It's all well and good to say things like "The Bible tells us not to judge" and harp on about christian morals, but honestly religious people dont always have better morals then anyone else.
And if you are told not to judge then you all really do a bad job of obeying that viewpoint as alot of religious people do nothing but judge others.
I've been told I'm a biggot just because I have disagreed with something stupid a religious person said in a science debate, when in fact it is they who are the biggots because they believe I disagreed because I didn't share their beliefs, when in fact the reality is that when presented with hard evidence said religious people just went "lalala, I'm not listening".
And I'm supposed to agree with someone like that?

The point is that alot of religious people judge based on whether or not you follow what they do and beleive they are better then everyone else.
Well I think alot of non religious people do have better morals then some christians, the only thing that makes people think otherwise is because they dont pray to anything.

When you say Anti-theist, do you mean against organized religion, against religious people, or against God? Or some or all of the above?

If you are against religion, in a way, Christians would agree with you. Because Christianity is not about a religion, it's about a relationship with God.

play4fun : While that may be your belief, that christianity is not a religion but something else, I think your argument is flawed as most other religions can and do claim the exact same thing.
And quite honestly alot of the members on this site are kids, whether in age or in mindset, so bobby is within rights to call this a kids site.
This is another matter of an individual thinking a generic comment was directed at them, when it was not.

Honestly DH, I know how you feel about that. But actually not every Christian is like that. In fact, I've been called a bigot before and I'm Christian. I shared my beliefs, and less than a week ago someone wouldn't even hear my side of it all because he thought I was a bigot. He literally yelled at me in a room with a whole bunch of other people, basically screaming at the top of his lungs... just because he thought I was a bigot. He just kept on yelling "I'm not gonna listen to you" and all that. And I was just talking about what I believed. Apparently I'm a hater and a bigot just because I told him what I believed.

I think the point I was trying to make was that just because someone is religious and follows certain morals or principles doesnt mean they are a good person all up.
Sure they might be a good person to those that share their beliefs, but if they are a bad person to others just because they dont share the same belief, to me that makes them a closed minded fool, and not a nice person.

Also another point was that just because one is christian and follows things from the bible doesnt mean they are a good person or that they have good morals, even if they seem to follow the bibles morals without fail.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that morals is not just about what religion you are or what is written in your book, it's about being a good person and doing what you think is right.
Not what a book says is right.

DH makes a good point there. You will always come across books or people in life who try to tell you right from wrong. It takes no morals to believe in what others or a book tell you instead it takes morals to know right from wrong in your own mind based on your own judgment.

And as DH said just because one believes in the bible does not make them better or superior to the rest. You can pretty much predict how christians or religious people on how they think when it comes to morals. If you do something against their religion or are not apart of their religion period they will look at you different. Problem here is too many people are using religion to judge others when religion is a belief, should only apply to you. Makes no sense to apply it to others who don't believe it.

It's like me shoving a cigarette in your face trying to make you smoke it when you don't smoke. Or me trying to use a bananna to turn on a car. Only apply it to your own kind then it will be morally correct.
