Read the Bible, pray regularly, ask God any questions that you have. He will provide the answers.
The Ten Commandments is a good place to start, but you should read the New Testament, where they often clarify certain things about it. Also, the Old Testament provides a great deal of examples and philosophies. Ultimately, keep in mind that you should base your beliefs on what God says and not what man says. One is perfect, the other is not. Also, you can put that egg in your signature. You don't have to spam it everywhere. Define what you mean by morals in that case. Do you mean general morals or ones specific to Christianity, and if so what are they? |

Well every one thats a Christian has there godly morals and there gonna have personal morals, what I'm getting at is in between both, a sorta mix of them, because from what I gathered and seen, people in church sometimes seem to still have different morals from one another yet there personal morals revolve around religion, you follow me. So I'm just trying to see where people stand with that side of the moral gap persay..... |

Well, it's not limited to Christianity, but I think I get what you mean. Like there is the basic morals about not killing and whatnot, but some people have no problem gossiping or backstabbing or stuff like that? |

Well, you could lump it into big commandments and little commandments.
Like don't kill, don't steal, don't commit adultery etc that are considered "big" sins. And then little commandments regarding lying, gossiping, etc would be more of a gray area to a lot of people. I also think a lot of people live their lives in a way that, if there isn't a law governing the issue (either religious or civil law/commandment) then it's okay to do. While other people feel that there are ethical/unethical areas of life, like gossiping, white lies, etc. Like don't kill, don't steal, don't commit adultery etc that are considered "big" sins. Yeah, I kinda see it like that as well. It can be really little things. Then there are people that most consider the "holier than thou" group that just think they are better than others or some crap like that, or the volunteers, or whatever. You see them in all religions... another big example is the idea of keeping kosher for Jews or the Coven vs Solitary debate among the Neopagans (trust me, there are some conceited witches out there). |

We are all sinners here... I think just about everyone has lied, cheated, or stolen something in their life so I don't think any religions or non religious person can claim right to better morals.
No one can define your morals, you are the one who decides whether something is good or not even if your following your religion or laws. The world will chew you up and spit you out. This world is driven by business so lying cheating and stealing is apart of the daily life cycle. Going to church or having a religion might be some peoples escape to feel sorry for themselves so they can continue committing lies and crimes. I think some religious people go to far. If you are not one of them your a sinner, it's quite funny considering a lot of them are hypocrites who use a label to escape it I've been to church a few times when I was little, I saw more deceiving demons in there then outside in the real world. To me, good morals have nothing to do with a religion just who you are as a person. I think religion teaches others to be selfish and discriminate others who are different. I feel you are not able to display your own individuality when you try to follow someone elses system, instead you become apart of a label. Your a cop, your a christian, your black, your gay get it? We are all label heads, it's why we argue why one thing is better then another, why burger king is better then mcdonalds, why ps3 is better then xbox, why christians are better then jews.... Maybe the mark of the beast is already well engraved so far in the system we have no clue its actually here yet. The only good morals are if you are apart of a system and follow it, if you don't you do not have good morals. It's a paradox no one wins unless your system has the power to make it win (government is a good example). I believe and I trust the bible when it talks about the fruit of the spirit. I think those are morals. I also think 10 commandments are morals. |

This kinda makes me think of the quote, What Would Jesus Do? when I come back and look at this topic. It just seems perfect when it comes to morals and Christianity. Because we are going to face things in modern life that aren't explained in the bible so if you live by that quote, it may help you to get further in life when it comes to morality. And I'm pretty sure if your not Christian, you can use another Holy or Positive influence to replace that and still live life to a good morality. just another thought I had on this subject today. |

Fear God, mainly (this is more in Old Testament).
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (not so much Old Testament) 10 Commandments Pray Look to God for guidance, not other things such as money Then, when you move to New Testament, you get the two most important ones "Love God with all your soul, with all your strength, will all your heart, and with all your mind" (exact quotation is forgotten at the moment) Then there is "Love your neighbor as yourself" (again, exact quotation and location is forgotten, I know that Paul said it somewhere in Acts) That pretty much sums it up. (any that I've forgotten? Please tell me.) Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. X-tians have no better morals then Hindus, or Muslims. it is all about how you would like to be treated and give that attitude to others. that has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with making the world a better place for people to live in. |
