I'm curious as to how many people on here are currently pursuing their degree at a university.

I am personally working on my Nursing Science degree. Are any of Vizzed users working on their university degrees? If so, what is your major? What made you want to go to university as opposed to College or pursuing a trade which could potentially get you a better job in the long run?

I already have one and now I'm working on another. After this semester ends I should have just one more year to go through before I have a degree in Journalism and it's pretty exciting.

I'm hoping that once I get my degree, it doesn't take long to get a job within either of my fields.

I'm doing a full time program focusing on Political Science/Economics in hopes to eventually major in the latter. After that I will eventually pursue a masters degree in a related field. There were a few different factors that motivated me to go to university. On the one hand I've always been interested in these subjects and have performed well academically so it seemed like a natural step to go for the next level of education after graduating high school.

A second factor is personal experience. No one in my close family have ever attempted to pursue a university degree and often expressed regret later as it often makes it more difficult to get some jobs and completely bars you from others. For that reason I've always been encouraged by my family to pursue a university degree and I've felt more inclined to do so as a result.

Thirdly would be my circumstances. I think Sweden happens to be one of the better countries where one can pursue a degree. Unlike the US there is no tuition fee and you're allowed to take pretty big loans with very little interest to finance your studies. While I had already made my mind up, this further solidified my decision to go to university as I felt it was too good of an opportunity to pass up knowing what it's like in many other countries.

I'm currently working on my Political Science degree at Binghamton University. Political Science is my major, but I am also pursuing a Cinema minor. My plan right now is to go to law school after I graduate.

I'm currently going for a Master in law (+specialization year). First semester atm but we'll get there eventually haha. Might go for a Master in criminology as well after that, haven't decided yet.

tgags123 : Hope you enjoy law school! It's a bit overwhelming at first (books be like 3000+ pages LOL) but I'm gradually getting more and more used to it. Any ideas on what fields of law you'd be interested in?

I'm working on my Computer Sciences degree at the moment. I haven't officially chosen a track that I want to chase yet, but I'm fairly certain that I'll be doing cybersecurity. Antiviruses, cryptography, and whatnot.

I'm not too sure that this is what I WANT to do, but it's sort of my only option. At least it's a hobby of mine, so it's not like I'm completely uninterested. I just wanted to separate my career from my hobby.

I'm a Computer Science (CS) Major, with a minor in Mathematics. I'm on my last year before I graduate from a university, then I'll move on to a Ph.D. program in CS most likely with a focus in Software Engineering. (So far I got one acceptance letter to a CS Ph.D. program with a Teaching Assistant funding position)

I'm also considering a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a focus on Computer Graphics/vision. I haven't heard back from that yet so I'm not sure if I'm doing it.

I am also currently pursuing a Computer Science degree at Virginia Tech. I have another 2 years or so since I came in as a transfer student. I really enjoy it, so I wouldn't be against pursuing a Ph.D. program in the future. We'll see though.

I just got approval for my independent study class a little while ago and registered a few days before Christmas. This means that I will have a pretty easy semester because I'm going to have 2 classes and the independent study is mostly going to be what I do for the school newspaper.

Then in the fall all I have to do is one class and an internship and I'll be ready for graduation.
