Hello everyone!
I've had an account on here for a while. I am just now making my first forum post. I haven't done forum things in years. I'm Ashley! I am from Vermont. I have these phases where I play retro games because I'm a nostalgia junkie of sorts. I just wanted to drop a line to everyone. Questions for whoever reads this: What is your favorite retro system? Or, what are your favorite games on here that remind you of childhood? I'm glad to be here, and hope to keep revisiting as I've been having a good time as of late!

Hi! It's great to see that you decided to make a thread in the newbie forum to introduce yourself. I still regret not making one myself. To answer your question, my favorite retro system is the N64. That along with the PS1 were my 1st two home consoles, with Mario Kart 64 and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time being my favorite games for that system. What retro system is your favorite?

gamerforlifeforever : Thank you for your response! It's nice to find forums that have active and thoughtful members such as yourself. The N64 is a great choice! I was unable to have my own back when it was a new system, but I know many people who are huge fans, and I had a few chances at playing it with my friends. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time always intrigued me, but I have yet to give it a try. I have many memories of playing the old school SNES Mario games. However I'm very prone to the PSX and Sony consoles in general. I loved playing Spyro games, as well as the first Tony Hawk games (especially the second one). I also used to enjoy any racing games that utilized the steering wheel controllers.

As for your questions, my favorite retro handheld is the Game Boy Advance, with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon being one of my favorite games on the system.

And my Favourite games that keeps reminding me of my childhood are sonic the hedgehog sonic the hedgehog 2, sonic the hedgehog 3 sonic 3d sea Saturn version streets of rage 3 street fighter 2 champion edition.

Eniitan : You are not too late! Thank you, I appreciate the warm welcome! I have been spending a lot of time on here rediscovering the games of my youth, and it's been great. Thanks for sharing your favorite retro games and system! I have very faint memories of sonic, I remember really enjoying it when I was really little, and I played it on my uncle's Sega Genesis at my grandparents' house. Street Fighter games in general are also classics.

Boured : Thanks for your reply! I would agree on your choice of handheld retro system, the GBA took up so much of my time back in the day; I was more prone to the Tony Hawk games. That PS2 sound always causes me to have flashbacks, and good ones at that. I remember at some point the fat consoles had attachable screens and if you had a car-to-plugin adapter of sorts, the PS2 could become a portable system on long roadtrips.

Welcome!!!! Thanks for being around.

What is my favorite retro system? I'm not sure I have one. I had the most fun with friends over the N64 console...until the Wii came along and gave me the best time I had had up to that point with games.

What are your favorite games on here that remind you of childhood?

I don't use the RGR anymore...I haven't done a search for a game I loved for a while, to play it. Hmm....I'm not sure, really. Of course, there were classic Nintendo games. But, to bring up one example, I remember being frustrated back in the day with "A Boy and His Blob" for NES. There's a newer version on Steam and consoles, but when I was younger, I had the OG game. I never even got close to completing it, largely because I was confused as to the objective. I didn't "get" the game. This game I brought up because it's a game I know I'd enjoy today, and probably could complete it.

Welcome to Vizzed. It seems there's not been a better time to be active on the forum than this in quite some time, so good timing on your part.

I am from the northeast US as well, and can attest it's really nice to be inside this time of year. How about the cold weather lately?

Depending on how we define retro, my favorite would be the N64. My favorite childhood games are probably Banjo Kazooie and Mega Man 64 personally.

Hi there and welcome to the community

For me, gaming was it its prime when N64 game out. Playstation was also very good. Dreamcast was highly underrated. Those are my three favorite consoles of all time.

You must try both Zelda games, Ocarina of time and then Majora's Mask. I never played a Zelda game before that and became a believer. Truly one of the best games ever made and that is not just my opinion it is gaming fact! 10/10 on IGN and 99 on Metacritic. It still amazes me big gamers have not played it, including the owner of this site Davideo7 who last time I talk to him about it said he never played it.
