I’m Barathemos, a user who has been around for...a while. Not so much recently, but I’d like for that to change. I’m applying to be a moderator on a lot of grounds, but mainly because I have been moderator before, enjoyed the job I had, and overall think that my presence would be a positive for the site as a whole.

To start off, I’ve been a member here for almost six(!) years now. I’ve done a lot over those years, I’ve been site staff for roughly two years of total time, and I have been a local mod before. While my past local mod position wasn’t exagtly a huge success, I definitely feel as though I would be much more successful this time. Having experience under my belt, along with getting over the hustle of 20 years old, I have matured and know how to complete a job as an adult. I feel my maturity, along with my experience in the position-both positive and negative- would be beneficial to the mod team, and the site as a whole.

While I haven’t been too active recently, I have been incredibly active in the past. I still log in every day, take time to browse, and have made occasional posts. I also am frequently in the chat room (despite not saying much, I am there). I’m available basically 18 hours a day, and since Vizzed is, and will remain, my home page, I will always have an eye on what has been happening.

This site has been essential for me over the last six years, and I have and will try my best to make sure everyone has the same experience I had here. I want to be a part of continuing the community aspect, as well as making sure that everyone gets along and has a great time. For all Vizzed has done for me, I would love the opportunity to share that experience with others. Lately, I’ve taken part in some of the Netplay competitions (sadly there isn’t huge participation) and have played a lot of games in the RGR (thanks to being able to play with java )

Overall, I believe that my experience, time spent on the site and in the community of Vizzed, along with my love for the site and all it has done for me, makes me one of the best choices for a moderator position. Thank you for the opportunity within the rehaul of staff, and best of luck to everyone

I've thought a lot about whether or not I wanted to apply. I've looked at things people have said and done and considered if I want to be part of Vizzed again and I've decided that I want to give it a shot. I feel like I still have something to offer though I see my role being different than it was in the past.

I realize that I'm not "new blood" by any means. I realize that I've been part of the problem in the past. I've made mistakes being a mod before. However, I've stuck around this place for almost 14 years. It has been my second home and it pains me to see it the way it is now.

My main focus for Vizzed has always been, and will always be, the forums. I want the forums to be active again. I know they'll never be like they were years ago but they can be better than they have been this year. I also want the forums to be a place where everyone can post and have fun rather than just a few people. I want to be fair as a moderator. I feel like there has to be a way to balance the fun and the rules of the site. I think enforcement of rules was way too top heavy (I'd know wouldn't I?). Too often as a global mod or admin I would take the law into my own hands and do what I thought needed to be done rather than letting the group decide. If I become a mod I want the decision making in the hands of the majority with the enforcement done by the global/admin level.

I can't say that I'll doing anything in particular that will suddenly make Vizzed an amazing place. What I do want is for Vizzed to continue to exist as a place people enjoy coming to and feel safe. I want to make up for mistakes I've made in the past. I don't deserve this chance but I really want the chance to try and make Vizzed better.

I'm applying too, I guess.

I decided that even though my time is limited, and I can't dedicate 100 hours a week to the site like I used to long ago... I can chime in, and provide a level-headed viewpoint of the situation. What I lack in quality, I will make up for in quality discussion, and keeping myself and the staff engaged in the community.

I think my experience should speak for itself. Other than geeo, I don't think any other applicant here has as much experience moderating Vizzed as I do.

My goal is fun. If I don't think it's working out, I'll step back, and let someone else give it a shot. Because I don't want to waste my time, or yours.

I've given it a lot of thought over the past couple of days and I have decided to apply. I really do want to make Vizzed the best place it can be, it really does it hurt seeing what you spent most of your teenage years on slowly fade into internet obscurity. 

I have been with Vizzed since July of 2013, and I am somewhat of an infamous member. I realize a lot of my past actions and my attitude from early 2017 and prior were inexcusable, and I heavily regret acting the way I did. I truly do feel that, not just I, but a lot of us have went through similar times when we were younger. We acted in ways we couldn't imagine acting like now. 

My main focus for Vizzed at the moment is getting it back on its feet and making sure that the moderation team is fair, unbiased, and can work together as a team. I also believe I am qualified due to my activity on the site, backed up by the many TdV's I have participated in. I happen to be checking Vizzed multiple times every single day, and I try to post whenever possible.

Having fun is also a very important element of an internet forum. If users are not having fun on a website, they would most likely leave the site in search for a better experience. I will do my best to ensure that the community is having fun on Vizzed, just like I did during a lot of my time here. 

Well to start off, I was site staff previously as well as a former perma banned member as well as a rented form mod, with that being said i bring to the table compassion and a good moral compass and decent decision making when it comes down to the proper punishment for anyone that breaks the rules. I'm familiar with all the staff roles and whats neccessary for each position. While some people view it to be a crazy idea to let a former site staff/perma banned member become a local mod, I'd say who else would be more fit for the position being that he's been in the exact predicament that the members he's going to pass judgement onto has and who would bring a more compassionate and level headed approach to the ban/disciplinary actions being bestowed upon fellow members (even though majority of the time most disciplinary actions are put to a vote among the mods)

I've been on and off about whether I wanted to apply or even should apply, but I do really want to help out the site.

This application will probably be pretty short.

I've had experience being both site staff and mod, and I've taken some time off from communicating on the Internet in general to focus on my irl life. Unless anything drastically changes, I will have enough time to spend my time working on Vizzed and make sure that my life outside of the website doesn't take a toll.

If I'm to be hired, I will be receptive to criticism and vouch for more transparency between staff and regular users. A banned user needs to know exactly why they were banned and be able to have a open discuss with the moderators about it. I will also try and make Vizzed a more fun place to be. People on here do lean towards wanting to just have some fun.

My goal is to try to have Vizzed regain some of it's lost activity and cultivate a stronger community. While the rules do need to be enforced, that shouldn't be at the expense of the experience of the users as a whole, and the problems that the previous mod team had needs to be taken care of now. Nothing actually changes if the new team has all the same problems as the last one.
