I think its pretty safe to say that everyone on Vizzed are fans of Pokemon. Pokemon has been around for decades and is still looking for new ways to excite players. Now that the trailer for Detective Pikachu has been released, everyone is wondering if this will lead to more Live action Pokemon films and the possible live Action Yugioh and Digimon.

If more Pokemon Live Action films are made, which games and story lines should they do?

And if Pokemon becomes a successful cinematic universe, what other properties would you like to see made into Live Action?

I thought detective pikachu was a joke/fake when i first saw the movie poster...the CGI looks horrendous and the whole idea of live action pokemon movies just seems unnecessary and generally unwanted especially with that creppy and trashy looking CGI pikachu..it puts me in mind of a CGI version of the muppets. Pokemon should stay as it is movie wise, they make decent anime movies but live action based on anime has never produced anything decent and from what i seen so far i hope that CGI monstrosity pikachu and the movie never sees the light of day. Now don't get me wrong I'm a huge pokemon fan and a big fan of the animated movies i remeber pokemon 2000 and pokemon 4 ever quite fondly as a kid and I can honestly say they make decent quality animated movies

Divine Aurora : I don't the CGI looks too bad. I honestly would've wanted a Pokemon Adventures type of movie instead. At least the artists of Detective Pikachu is sticking with the original artwork instead of going the route that live Action Sonic The Hedgehog is going through

Well if Sonikku X the Movie is any indication to go by, I feel like this is the same trend that was followed back in the 90's. Hollywood thinks that appealing to the Video Game market is a good idea, we get the Super Mario Bros and Street Fighter movies, we unanimously decide this was a mistake, and we stop making video game movies for another two decades. Now to be fair, it isn't the video game's fault if they keep deciding to take the movie down the Alvin and the Chipmunks route, we had the Warcraft movie for instance, and that wasn't at all terrible. It's just a matter of good representation, and making 3D renders of Ludicolo, Mr. Mime, and Snubull, morphing Sonic into... whatever he is now, and hiring Ace Ventura while shoe-horning in a generic human lead actor that in-character has no business getting involved with the plot is not the way we want to take video game movies. But Minecraft will do it anyways, the plot will be that a generic middle schooler falls into a portal into a mysterious new world and has to fight and craft to survive, they're going to track former workers from Telltale studios who are now living in cardboard boxes, and CGI creepers will look like this.

I saw the trailer for the new Mewtwo movie that's all CGI and if that's the route that Pokemon takes from now on, I don't think it would be too bad. It would be fun seeing reboots of old ones but looking so much better.

I seriously hope not. I mean, come on! Look at freaking Aipom! That's a face that even a mother couldn't love! :o

In all seriousness though, it amazes me the amount of people who are actually excited for this movie. This movie looks like an absolute trainwreck waiting to happen. I sure as hell won't see it.

hellno163 : I don't even know why Paramount Pictures is wasting their money on a Sonic film. They should just focus on their Hasbro properties like GI Joe, Power Rangers and Transformers.
