It's pretty hard to pick my absolute favorite, but I will mention all the top stages I like the most...

WarioWare Inc. (Brawl & 3DS)
The reason I pick the WarioWare stage in both Brawl and 3DS mostly reflects the random mini-games that goes on while you're in the middle of a battle and accomplishing those mini-games awards you some kind of power-up, either Micro, Mini, Invisible, or healing, this is one of those unpredictable stages in the entire series.

Unova Pokemon League (3DS)
Ok, if you take away my whole positive bias I have with Pokemon Black and White (like I always call Black and White my most favorite Pokemon games in the entire series and what not), I really like the Unova Pokemon League stage, it has that traditional battlefield feel to it, but the only exeption is whenever either Reshiram or Zekrom comes into the picture and they will alter your battle plans, and I always like that.

Jungle Hijinxs (Wii-U)
I'm not the first one that will agree with this and I won't be the last one, but the reason I like the Jungle Hijinxs stage in the Wii-U version is because of switching between the foreground and background, like you can either battle in one part and rest on the other part, or just battle wherever you feel like.

Gaur Plains (Wii-U)
Even despite that they both are on the Wii-U and the 3DS, but really, I much prefer the Wii-U version a whole lot more, mostly because on occasion, Metal Face comes into the picture and ends up destroying half of the stage, and even if Metal Face destories half of the stage, the stage is extremely roomy and big.

Midgar (3DS & Wii-U)
Just like I said with the Unova Pokemon League, Midgar also has that traditional battlefield feel to it, exept if you have some elements that will alter the entire battlefield, in this case, that's with the Materia.

Spear Pillar (Brawl)
Another Pokemon stage I really like in Brawl which I was disappointed that it wasn't in 3DS and Wii-U. Mostly I like the 2 different floors in this stage where in 4-way battle, you can have it one-on-one at a time, and just like the Unova Pokemon League, you also have the 2 legendary Pokemon from the region (Dialga and Palkia) can change the course of the stage either slowing down the time or flipping the stage upside down.

All 6 of these stages I really like to see make it onto the Nintendo Switch, if that is the case, I will be playing Smash on the Switch nonstop.

Hyrule, Poke Floats, and Corneria will always be the best to me. All of them originated in Melee, but I think Hyrule and Corneria are in Brawl and Wii U. Hyrule's great because no one ever dies because of the sheer size of the stage and blastzones, also it's fun to fight near the bottom of the level. Corneria's fun because of the unique shape of the stage, but I kinda hate the Arwings that shoot at you.

Poke Floats is fun because it's Poke Floats.

My favorite is Fountain of Dreams from the Melee days.

I really hope they find a way to get it into Ultimate and are just saving it for a final reveal :/

legacyme3: Well, there is still like 35 stages that are still yet to be determinant, which includes Fountain of Dreams, and who knows, Nintendo may just add Fountain of Dreams. Knowing Nintendo, they might have another Direct sometime between now and December (which will probably be sometime in September) and announce every stage that will be in Smash Ultimate, just like they did with the Characters during the E3 Direct.

TheFadedWarrior : Actually, Hyrule was introduced in Smash 64, but it was skipped Melee & Brawl, but came back in Smash 3DS/Wii-U, and planning to be on Ultimate.

Although the best thing for me is that 5 of my 6 favorite stages has been confirmed so far to be in Ultimate (which makes me happy), the only one that is still yet to be determinant is
Jungle Hijinxs, which I do see being added to the game, although it's hard telling though, because I can't see into the future.

My favorite one is the giant stage from Sm4sh with the little pond up at the top... (I don't play a lot of Smash, but this map was always my favorite because it means as a Yoshi main, whose a simple character, there will be less fights on top of me)

IgorBird122 : Turns out, I'm thinking of Temple, not Hyrule. Hyrule Castle is completely different than Temple, my bad.

legacyme3 : Not sure on why my last post didn't summon you.

TheFadedWarrior : It's alright. When you said Hyrule, I always think about the Hyrule Castle stage from 64, 3DS/Wii-U, and Ultimate

thing1 : You talking about Palutena's Temple? Because that's the only stage I know from that Smash that's a giant stage with a pond of somekind, unless it's another stage I'm missing.

IgorBird122 :

Going to need you to cite your sources on that one.

I know that around 80-85 stages have been confirmed, but we've also figured out almost "EXACTLY" what stages those are. The exceptions for "confirmations" are the new Final Destination (that we've yet to actually see, at least on the wiki), a New Donk City based stage, and one of the Pictochats (whether it's 1 or 2, or a compilation of the two, similar to what the Mega Man stage is).

Anything more than those 80ish stages is unconfirmed, and just speculative (for example, I'd be shocked if Miiverse came back).

I also know that based on what has been said, some stages will be omitted. I'm praying FoD isn't one of them.

legacyme3 : Well, by doing the math, the reason I came up with 35 is that. Ok, out of all the stages that were introduced in Smash 64, Melee, Brawl, and 3DS/Wii-U (after looking at the official Smash Wiki page), that would total 125 stages, and now take away all of the already confirmed stages which is 84 stages (so far), that leaves 41 stages, and now you take out all the duplicate "Battlefields" and "Final Destinations" (basically, they are the same stage with the same name in each game, just painted with a different background) which is 6 stages, now that leaves the 35 stages that are still yet to be determinant (and mostly how I got the 35 stages).

Sakurai did state that not all of the stages are going to make it into Ultimate, and some of those stages will get the dreaded cut, which does include like I mentioned the duplicate Battlefields and Final Destination, as well as like you mentioned, Miiverse will more in likely make the cut because of Nintendo discontinuing the Miiverse channel on their systems, and also 1 or 2 of the Flat Zone stages will also get the dreaded cut, and maybe a few additional stages will be cut as well. Also, although this might just be my opinion though, but maybe, we may see another stage or 2 be added into SSB Ultimate, which if that's the case, I can see that another Pokemon stage will be added in (probably something to do with the Alola region in the Pokemon franchise).

So, for your favorite Fountain of Dreams, I also personally hope they don't cut it as well. because when I used to have a GameCube and played Melee, I really liked the Fountain of Dream stage as well for some apparent reason, probably the bright colors to my young mind at the time.

My favorite stage is Shadow Moses Island. I honestly have no clue why, it might just be the nostalgia. I played that stage as a kid all the time in Brawl.

My favorite stage is probably the Duck Hunt stage. Despite actually getting somewhat annoying with the stage hazards, it's still really fun since it's very straightforward, isn't a walkoff stage, and has some of the best music.

My favorite stages from SSB are Final Destination, Hyrule Castle, Castle Siege, Onett and all of the Pokémon Stadium/League stages. While I usually like to play on the non-chaotic, omega version of most stages, these are a few I make exceptions for, unless of course I am playing casually with items on, in which case no stage is off limits.

Temple and Pokéfloats are way on up there on the list. I don't have an absolute favorite, but those are at the top.

I'd also like to say I think it's really cool how every stage can have a flat and triplat "omega" and "battlefield" version. Some visual variety in triplats is a very welcome addition.

For a long time, and still with SSBU, the Hyrule Temple is my favorite. It offers a large map (which I personally love) and gives the players multiple areas to battle. I also like the Pokemon battle area too.

And I always play omega version, because I just don't like when everything is moving around quickly and random things are knocking you off the stage.

m0ssb3rg935 : I love Pokefloats, I'm so disappointed that they didn't include it in Smash Ultimate.

I've always found myself going to Fountain of Dreams when i played Melee. So I would say Fountain of Dreams is probably my favorite smash bros stage.

My favorite stage is the Umbra Clock Tower. It's the setting for what I consider to be the most epic beginning for any video game ever in Bayonetta. You could only imagine my excitement when Bayonetta was added in Smash 4 as DLC. (Then obviously making it's return in Ultimate)
