The slayers reveiw(snes) Notes before the reveiw- I played a different and MUCH better translation I haven't beat the post game yet I'm not a huge fan of the anime Ah the slayers its a interesting game based on a pretty good anime about a group of adventures trying to slay monsters to get gold as well as save the world from the monster of the week Story-7 The story is about Lina inverse,the main heroine of the anime she is knocked out in the middle to nowhere with of course,amnesia she is then took into a village by a man who then makes her kill goblins and then a hydra where she meets with Connie and Naga who minor characters from the OVA's as you go through the game you learn that a lot of people hate you or are scared of you for a unknown reason near the end of the game you find out that your Lina is...a...ROBOT! well something like that more like a golem or something and you find the real Lina all and all the story was interesting with quirky dialog that feels very much what you would hear in the anime My main issue with the story is the main characters of the anime feel almost show horned in Gourry the second main character(and my favorite "bada**" character) isn't in the game till near the end...very near the end and Zelgadis my second favorite character doesn't join you're party till the second-to-last boss...*facepalm* I should also mention this game uses a quest based progression style of story telling,one guy makes you do a quest after its done you get a cut scene telling where you need to go next,sorta like FF3 it should be noted that enemies don't drop gold or even items so the only way to get gold is the quest Gameplay-8 Its pretty basic turn based battle with a symbol based choose command (again played a different and better translation)which can be a little annoying at first but quickly becomes basic especially since characters will just be doing basically the same thing each battle Lina(fake)-Attac... Harry potter and the chamber of secerts GBC ==Nuked old review,I recently re-beat the game and my opinion have changed,also the grammar was awful xD= Harry potter and the chamber of secrets is a interesting little game,I actually hold this game close to my heart for it was one of the first RPGs I played,yet I've only beat it twice,and one was just two days ago,maybe its just me but I really love this game GRAPHICS-8 The graphics have there ups and downs,the battle with Aragos is actually quite interesting nice to look at,and clever use of sprite/background splicing,similar to the final bosses in FFVI,however most enemies are only decent,and the sprite work is again,hit and miss,I do really like some sprites though,Lockhearts sprite always makes me chuckle,the way he's always smiling and "looking pretty",however the portraits need some work,while I like Ron and Harry's battle portrait(Ron has a |

Dragon ball z:Legend of the super saiyan! Over view- Dragon ball z:legend of the super saiyans is the most well known of the classic DBZ RPG series that was only released in japan which is a shame cause america had alot of dbz fans and the games where actually decent but i digress Graphics- 9/10 For the time these where fantastic the animation for battles where great and made every hit looked like it hurt which is something not even modern RPG's seem to get right however the over world graphics but considereding this came out in 92 their still pretty damn good Sound- 6/10 The music isn't bad...err...the battle theme is nice but repetitive since you battle...a lot and sometimes it doesn't fit for example the final battle theme seems really cheery and upbeat and the over world themes are forgettable Addictiveness- 6/10 uhhh how can i put it? its very difficult but when you figure it out you feel addicted to the game a little more...know what i mean? Story- 7/10 The game takes place at the beginning of the saiyan saga and ends at the final battle against frieza while the saiyan saga was somewhat short the frieza saga fills much longer it follows it good enough i suppose Depth- 5/10 Its not a very long RPG that feels long with its somewhat poor design and punishing difficulty i think it can be beat in around 4 hours pretty short for RPG terms Gameplay- 7/10 Over world navigation is pretty basic walk to next area except now you can fly The battle system is also meh but its the best part of the game you get randomized cards that has a certain attack and defensive level which is 1-7(Z)characters will have a "best" card which is used to attack all enemies sometimes you will get a ki card which allows you to use a ki blast the only good feature is the flashing animations really add to the epicness also i find it weird you have one stat...BP...which is like attack/Defense and spee... Opoona-Very underrated RPG Ah opoona first REAL wii game i ever played Overview- Opoona is a WII rpg made by koei a very hit&miss(Its been a week since i played it so i might get a few stuff wrong) Story-8 For such a cutsie looking game the story is really dark Its about a family of aliens and their close friends going on a vacation to earth however their attacked you're dad is a army general and does his best to protect you he does however he and your're mother are badly wounded from their our main character opoona must find this life energy to save his parents along the way he meets up with his siblings(Copoona&Paleena) who where separated at the crash *SPOILERS* The story then takes a turn where the pope like figure is evil and psedo controlled the people of earth with his religion and use terrible machenes to turn people into...things music-9 the music is very laid back and soothing however when they tried to make it intense...it fails but all in all great sound track Gameplay-7 The battle system is like FF 4,5,6 but in a behind back prospective and you use the control stick you charge you're attacks its very simple but they use the timing aspect quite well in some boss fights but since youre attack attacks in real time the timing can get a bit tricky Depth-6 Its decently long but most of it is finding out what to do in te early parts at least in the later parts its more linior Difficulty-5 Only hard if you don't level grind much the only hard parts are early beehive battles(You actually fight a beehive) and some early bosses Playable Characters Opoona-Our silent hero not much to really say his battle style is well rounded with good offensice and support spells also has the higest attack Copoona-Opoona's younger brother he's quircky and had by far the smootest life on earth being a mage he was treated very well as you can tell he's the wizard o... Glory of Heracles 2 Titans downfall reveiw Ah yes The Glory of Heracles 2(In my opinion the best in the series)its a awesome game,Its a turn based RPG set in Greece Graphics-8 The over world Graphics remind me of Final Fantasy but more colorful the battle graphics are actually quite good,colorful and cartoony Sound-6 the sound isn't bad it can just get annoying when your exploring and the same music plays it can be annoying but not a turn off Addictiveness-8 For some reason...i'm really addicted to this game o.o maybe its the charm of it maybe its the battle system or the funny translation Story-7 The story is a Greek soldier is called by the queen of nana to kill some trolls,talk to homer who travels the world along the way you meet a centaur and a statue(Now you know its Greek)they join your party the centaur becomes a Priest like character the statue is the mage go around kill monsters like cyclops and that kinda stuff do quest for towns eventually you meet Heracles who joins your party(He has crazy high attack) and go kill chronos its pretty good for NES stories Depth-7 Its a NES game...its bound to be kinda short its about as long as FF 3 All-in-All its a great game Little problems i had with it it doesn't show who can equip what and what equipment upgrades stats theirs on shop keep who is glitched and walks around once he walks you can't talk to him their are really annoying enemy's mountain goats which can steal your equipment and ghost who can spam you with sleep and stunning spells This has been a Darkanine review |
