Thunderbolt II

Thunderbolt 2- A decent shooter
After playing through the game it made me wonder... Is there a Thunderbolt 1? After looking around I guess not. Of course I also couldn't fine anything on Thunderbolt 2, so I doubt this is an actual NES game. But anyway we have Thunderbolt 2 on here (there's also a Genesis version of the game on this website, but it didn't work for me. It kept freezing up at the same part.) =This game is a pretty decent shooter, it's no Gradius or Life Force but it could be worse.

Graphics-6
Well it's space, it's just a black screen with some dots on it. The ships look decent, you at least know what they are, the bosses look pretty good. So do the little side ships you can get. Overall the game's graphics are pretty mediocre, it's nothing to brag about.

Sound-6
The sound effects are nice and pretty enjoyable, while the actual music is bland, but it does make you feel like you are in the future, It still does kind of wear on you and because the game is a bit hard you might hear that tune a lot

Addictiveness- 8
This game is simplicity at it's finest. Just hold down the Fire button and never let go. The game is so easy to pick up and play that it's hard to stop.

Story-2
Alright try and follow me on this story it might be hard to wrap your head around. Alright so a big laser comes down from sky, city burns, the Thunderbolt plane is sent in to action with an anime looking male (or female I have no clue) piloting the mighty plane. Then you go of into space to destroy ships. Yeah take a moment to wipe the tear from your eye, it's a great story. Joking aside, the story is all it really needs to be.

Depth-8
The Thunderbolt has three types of weapons, which you pick up by blowing up spaceships, blue, yellow, green, and red. Blue is a laser which at max power can fire from six directions, four in the front, two in the back, also it leaves you unguarded in the back because the back lasers fire diagonally. Yellow fires little... Read the rest of this Review
Rygar

Rygar- A true gem
Rygar in general is a pretty fun game but it makes me wish the game wasn't so buggy. The game is really easy to pick up and play but it is a pretty tough game to beat. But certainly it's worth the ride.

Graphics-6
Well it is NES, but it doesn't look horrible by any means. You at least know where you are, where everything is, and what's trying to kill you. There are some graphic glitches, such as randomly you'll see doors appear on the edges of the screen and the enemies do pop up out of nowhere sometimes, which can be pretty frustrating.

Sound-8
The sound department is where this game shines, go listen to the cave music it's really good, the music in the game really gets you pumped up for the quest your about to go on, which is fitting for an action game. Overall most of the songs are really catchy, but two songs stand out, the cave music which is really good, and the enemy castle song (not the floating castle) it's literally four notes over and over and over again until you leave. That's when you but some other music on.

Addictiveness- 7
The game is really fun so it's kind of hard to put down. I beat the game in about 4 hours or so it certainly won't leave you without a social life for days. In fact a lot of classic action games are like this, the game isn't long but it's really enjoyable.

Story- 1
What story? I mean there's kind of a story... I think? Just save the land because it's been taken over by bad guys. Simple enough, but really did you expect more of a story from a game made in 1987?

Depth-4
Just like the story the game is pretty shallow. The over world is pretty big but there isn't a whole lot to do except going to the next tiger shrine and beating another boss. Some of the shrine areas are medium sized and allow you to explore but there really isn't a reason to. Basically, the world is big but there's very little to do

Difficulty- 9
The controls are simple and very... Read the rest of this Review
