Harvest Moon: Magical Melody

Harvest Moon Magical Melody: The Best I've Ever Played on the Wii
-MMX's Review of Harvest Moon: Magical Melody-

Oh boy. Remember when I said Super Scribblenauts was the most addicting game I've ever played? Well......I forgot about Harvest Moon Magical Melody. Any Harvest Moon nerd *cough* Eirinn : *cough* will tell you, Harvest Moon is a franchise about farming (Suprise suprise.) I however am not a harvest moon nerd since this is the only game out of the series I've played. Realeased by Natsume for the Gamecube and the Wii a little bit later, harvest moon magical melody is a spectacular game. Very family friendly, and overall THEE best game I've played on the Wii. So let's dive right in into my review of Harvest Moon: Magical Melody.

Story (9): Harvest Moon Magical Melody doesn't have a huge expansive story like an RPG, but It's a nice relaxing break from marathoning all of Final Fantasy. The story is simple in scale. In a quaint little village called "Flower Bud Village" lived the Harvest Goddess, but one day she turned to stone because the people stopped believing in her. Which angered your rival Jamie, and now Jamie hates people in general and turns more bitter than the herbs found of the mountain. When your character (Adam is his regular name or if you choose the girl it's Amanda) moves into town you're informed of the Harvest Goddess' predicament. And it's up to you to gather the magical notes all around Flower Bud Village to make insturments and save her. Like I said. A VERY relaxing break from huge stories. And for making a light hearted story work, Harvest Moon Magical Melody gets a 9.

Graphics (8): The graphics are quite nice and cheery, like Super Scribblenauts, Harvest Moon Magical Melody has it's own style and it makes it WORK. It's mostly cheery and cartoony yet can turn serious if it needs to be. But for the most part, it keeps itself bright and cheery, the only thing I DONT like is the lighting. My god the lighting. Mainly at night time it can be hard to see where the hell... Read the rest of this Review
Super Scribblenauts

Super Scribblenauts. One of THE most addicting games I've ever played.
-MMX's review of super scribblenauts-

Hey all you vizzards (or whatever you're called) Over the last few days I've been playing a great game called Super Scribblenauts and I believe It's a spectacular game. Realeased by 5th Cell as a follow up to an earlier game "Scribblenauts" SUPER Scribblenauts innovated by quite a margin with amazing puzzles, superb replayability, and ACTUAL depth and addictiveness (After goldeneye and turok I thought the day would never come) However I have stalled you from the superb game that is Super Scibblenauts LONG ENOUGH. Lez do dis!

Story (4): Wow. What a rough beginning. Super Scribblenauts doesn't have much of a story. Just go around and find starite's which open other constallations (Levels). You CAN make up your own story. But I find that at least in my opinion rather boring. For not much of a story....Super Scribblenauts starts out with a low, low 4.

Graphics (7): Getting back on a high track Super Scribblenauts has good graphics that at least dont make me want to throw up. Granted it has no where near the level of good graphics as say Uncharted or Arkham Asylum but it does make sure that you can at least make out what is going on. (Unlike other games) But one thing it DOES have is it's own style. With a cartoony and innocent look only Super Scribblenauts can achieve. Normally I would give it a 5 for passable graphics, but for being unique in it's graphics and then some, Super Scribblenauts gets a 7 in the graphics instead.

Sound (8): Super Scribblenauts regains it's footing for a wide array of actually real sound. Take a shotgun for instance. When you fire the shotgun it ACTUALLY sounds like a shotgun instead of a *boom* and you can even hear it reload. The music is nothing to talk about however. Which is where the sound lacks the most. But a lot of objects sound either funny or real in the game. Which in my opinion helps with immersion. For a wide and realistic/funny array o... Read the rest of this Review
Turok - Dinosaur Hunter

Turok - Dinosaur Hunter: An MMX review.
Wow! Another review! ERMEGERD!!!! Ok in all seriousness, it’s been a long time since I’ve made one and I want to see how it looks on this layout so this is my review of Turok - Dinosaur Hunter. Turok was made by Acclaim and Iguana Entertainment in 1997 for the good ol’ N64 and for the PC a few months later. In my opinion, Turok is THE best shooter for the N64. (Yes, even better than Goldeneye and Turok 2 IMO) But for now, let’s take a look at Turok – Dinosaur Hunter for the N64 (and PC).

Story (8) : Turok even gets a Cliché story to be worth a shot! Normally I would rank it as a 5 for a cliché setup, but Turok knew.
They knew it was cliché so they managed to ACTUALLY make the story worth a damn. The story is that a big bad villain of evil-y evil-ness called the Campaigner decides to rule the Lost Land using a mystical gun called the “ChronoScepter”. The ChronoScepter was a
very destructive weapon in ancient times until the Lazarus Concordance shattered the ChronoScepter into 8 pieces to prevent the Lost Land becoming a pile of rubble. However the Campaigner has sent his army of everything ever all over the Lost Land and you, Joshua Fireseed (AKA Turok), must find all 8 pieces of the ChronoScepter before the Campaigner does. On top of killing the Campaigner
himself to what else, save the world! Once again, Turok takes the cliché story of a big bad villain taking over the world and makes it not-so-cliché by putting its own twist on it. (Mainly the ChronoScepter and the dinos) The story does have some problems though, you would have no idea ABOUT the story unless you look it up, as there’s nothing in the game to tell you. Also it still is cliché,
but not to a frustrating degree. As a result, Turok’s story gets an 8: for making a cliché setup not-so cliché... Read the rest of this Review
GoldenEye 007

A shooter worth playing.
~~~~Mega Mewtwo X’s Review of Goldeneye 007~~~~
Hi guys! Would you believe I don’t like modern shooters? I don’t know…..I just don’t like them. (Maybe the cod “fanbase”.) But retro shooters? HELLZ TO THE YUS! I luv retro shooters. Once again, don’t know why. But I think it’s time to give one of my favorite retro shooters some praise. Can you guess? (Well I don’t think u need to…….it’s kinda in the title.) Yup! It’s Goldeneye 007! Goldeneye 007 was made for the N64 on August 8th, 1997 by Rare. (Aka: the n64’s MASTER) the game was made by a lot of newcomers into the game-making business but that really didn’t mean a thing in the long run. Now that that’s out of the way, it’s time to get started! *plays Mario recoding* “Let’s-a go!”
Story (5): The story is too cliche. I could leave it at that and go on to the next part, but that’s not fun. The story is that one of 007’s allies, 006, (aka: Alec Trevelyan) backstabs 007 and tries to use a giant satellite called the goldeneye to blast the world to bits. 007 stops him, and the world can go on with its wars and tax raises. But once again, and let’s all say it together now, IT’S TOO. DAMN. CLICHE. One huge problem with this is that the story in every 007 is kinda the same. They don’t all have to deal with the goldeneye, but it’s usually about someone trying to blow up the world, or take over it, or something I’m too lazy to mention. And as a result, it really bogs the story down for me. So I think the story will get a 5. For being too cliche and never changing it up.
Graphics (9): The graphics look impeccable for an N64 game. Everything looks polished, and then some. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes things can just get all screwed up, (infamous spaz cartridge glitch. )but everything runs at the smooth fps it s... Read the rest of this Review
Spy Hunter Nowhere to Run
A very unknown game really.
A very unknown game really. Not a lot of people know this ps2 game released on September 1st , 2006. But they should if they like wrestling, because it stars THE ROCK as the main character. And yes, you can kill people in the game by the rock’s actual wrestling moves. I picked up this game at a GameStop a few years back. Playing it, it’s a great game! But I should really explain why. So, this is my review of Spyhunter: Nowhere to run.
Story (7): The story is quite cliché, just a generic “take over the world plot” with Dwayne “the rock” Johnson as the main protagonist. The villains are none other them nostra. Yes, that’s the name of the villains, nostra. (Don’t even ask) They plan to use a special car called a G-6155 spy car, otherwise known as: the “interceptor” and with this car, they plan to take over the world! (of course.). You have to go through about 12 or so levels and then you get to the final level. (Quite a long level, I might add.) The problem I have is that is that it’s TOO cliché, like I stated above. And it really knocks it down by quite a margin, so story only gets a 7.
Sound (9): The soundtrack for this game is awesome. The main theme is techo-ish and upbeat, but the loading music is good too. (Yes, even the loading screens have awesome music for this game.) My favorite theme though, like I said, is the main theme. However, the in-game sound effects are good too. For example, if you shoot someone in the game, it actually sounds like you shot them, and not just a simple *bang*. Also, you can hear their neck break when you use a neck breaker on them. Even times where you use environmental hazards against them, it STILL sounds very realistic. As a result, it immerses me into the game, which I quite like. Since it has an awesome soundtrack and good, realistic sounds to immerse the player, sound gets a 9.
Depth (9): The depth to this game is all over the place. You have multiplayer, trailers, surv... Read the rest of this Review
