Pokemon Snap Nuuu I had such an itch to try and play this game even though N64 games don't always run well on my computer but it seems you can't play on the site for some reason :c
Duck Tales The soundtrack for this game... It's the best. And all that pogo stick action >:3
Balloon Fight Wow this game is addicting and pretty revolutionary for it's time as well.
Pinocchio Pinocchio for the Sega Mega Drive... The first game I completed. So much nostalgia!

Grow Home

Go home bud, ur drunk
NSo Grow Home. This was a neat little project I'd grown an interest in after having seen many reviewers praise it as a breath of fresh air, and even more so when I heard it was actually produced by Ubisoft. So when I heard the PS4 port of the would be free for PS+ users I was actually somewhat excited (which is something I rarely say about the PS+ lineups).

So I got it and finally got to play it, and what do I have to say about it? Well...

Creating a living world with so little

The graphics are unsuprisingly (since this was a low budget project) actually fairly simplistic for PS4 standards. The game being made in unity and the textures being almost sort of blocky but that doesn't stop the world from looking almost a bit awe inspiring with lots of colour and life filling it while at the same time looking very serene and peaceful. With everything the giant plants, the ocean to the caves and the creatures within the world, awakening your sense of exploration and giving a sense of calm. I would say if anything doing so much with this little makes it all the more impressive.

The art style overall is definietly one of the strengths of the game. The only real problem I had with the graphics and I'm not sure if this is exclusive to the PS4 port or it's the case with the PC version as well is that partially clipping through objects is common. And while it hasn't bugged the game out for me or made scaling these surfaces impossible it's somewhat of an immersion breaker when you see half the character being inside the plant even with it being a low budget project.

The soundtrack, or well rather the ambient sound helps drive home the sense of serenity and vastness of the world. There's not really much of actual music aside from the main theme that plays at the main menu but I feel that for the kind of experience this creates ambient sounds fit better overall and while not extravagant definietly does the job. Same can be said for the s... Read the rest of this Review
Bloodborne

Bloody Brilliant
Oh Bloodborne... When I first bought this game and started playing it, I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn't expect it to take nearly my entire summer to beat it. Let alone another two and a half weeks until I would be able to get a platinum trophy. Yet I don't regret one second of it. During my recent reviews I've been reviewing a lot of games that have ranged from mediocre to just plain awful, but this will be neither.

Welcome to my review of Bloodborrne, where I'll be telling you why you owe it to yourself to pick this game up if you own a PS4 and experience one of the best games made in the past few years.

Let's get started then shall we?

A dark depressing s***hole. But a well crafted one.

Something that will become apparent when you first start playing the game is just how awe inspiring it looks. It's stunning to look at. The amount of detail that's gone into it is astounding. Everything from seeing giant buildings in the distance or even some of the smaller things like the patterns on the walls. Not to mention the various weapon and item designs, it is all very pleasing to the eyes.

On the topic of enemy design they're very detailed, from the smaller mobs which all look unique and are very varied, to some of the giant hulking, gross looking but still very detailed looking bosses. Really aesthetically the game doesn't feel lazy in any way, and you'll be hard pressed not to be impressed by the amount of care put into thevworld and the things that dwell within it. It feels alive and the world, completely interconnected.

But as much as I'd like to give the graphics a 10, there is one thing in particular that stops me from doing so. The game runs at 30 frames per second, which while it doesn't stop the game from being enjoyable and is something that didn't really affect the experience for me, may turn away some from playing it. It's something I could've possibly let slide in the previous console generatio... Read the rest of this Review

Zlinqx suffers a mental breakdown
So yes I'm going to go ahead and do something I said I'd never do. You see this game has kind of become like an inner demon of mine that I've wanted to review but purposely haven't because I haven't actually completed the game since I don't own a Wii U. I've only played the game for a 3 hour session once.

But it still plagues me and considering I've watched a whole playthrough as well as having played enough of it to get a feel of the controls and such, I think I have a good enough understanding of the game to review it regardless (and it's the TdV so teehee lol). Besides the game itself seems largely unfinished so I find it kind of fitting in a funny way.

To clarify this is more of a bonus review than anything, that I'm doing mostly out of fun so I won't really be making this as part of my staff reviews, but instead mostly because of the TdV and also because I really want to rip this game apart, which means this will be different than my regular style of reviewing and catering a bit more to fans of the franchise (though people completely new will also understand just how awful this game is, I guarantee it) I mean I swear I will kill this ga-

Ahem, I mean lets just get to it then yah?

Unreal lack of polish, and friggin mummy Sonic.

So graphically this game looked decent when looking at the announcment trailer, but how did the game turn out when it was actually released?

Oh boy... It's a roller coaster in terms of quality in the graphical department and for the most part it's pretty bad, I mean at many points the game looks like it belongs on the PS2 rather than the Wii U. Heck there's even some textures in the game that look like they belong on the friggin N64, I mean, I know this game was rushed but really, in 2014 a game with textures that look they belong on the N64, HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? I mean the world itself, in particular the hub worlds, looks like they could've had some (tiny) bit of potential... Read the rest of this Review
Super Bonk

Completely BONKers
Picture yourself at the gaming scene during the 16 bit era. The console wars raged on, every company had their own mascot. Nintendo had Mario, Sega had Sonic, Hudson having created their own console the Turbografx 16, decided to make their own mascot and this ended up being a little caveman with an oversized head called Bonk.

Their console ultimately couldn't compete with the Genesis and the SNES in way of games but despite all this Bonk lived onĀ  and eventually the franchise continued having it's first game for the SNES imaginatively titled Super Bonk... Go figure.

Ultimately this has been my first game in the series, and what do I think about? Well, it's really weird... You'll see what I mean...

A mix between cartoony and just plain weird and bizarre...

Asthetically the game didn't really push the limitations of the SNES but it looks decent for an SNES game. There's a nice amount of detail to the Bonk himself and the creatures he face... Even if you can't always instantly figure just what those things are. And there's a nice amount of variety of how the levels look you explore everything from China Town to the super sized house of a dinosaurs (that for some reason looks the same as those of humans) and that same dinosaurs brain... Yeah just don't think about it... (it gets weirder) Well while it doesn't really always make sense it does keep you amused and at times is pretty creative, the only really bad thing per say is that the animations could've been done a bit better.

The game also looks fairly colourful a lot of the time which really helps give it a pretty upbeat and cheery feel. The sound effects often times seem cartoony as well which fits with the game though some times they can also just be plain weird, they do manage for the most part not be annoying at least.

The soundtrack I actually found suprisingly good especially during the beginning where it can be really upbeat and fit well with this overa... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic Unleashed

UNLEASH YOUR INNER WERE... hog.
Well time to celebrate me having computer access again by Writing a review that I was going to release like a week and a half ago... Yeah. Let's just skip the chit chat and get on with.

So Unleashed has been one of the more controversial games in sonic the series, opinions vary a lot from horrid, to pretty meh to a bold new take on the series, after having had the game in my possession for some time but not actually finishing it I figured it was time for me to take on this beast!... Or werehog... just don't Think about that for too long...

High Production Values

Unleashed was more or less the last Sonic game to have a really big budget and while you can argue if this helped make it any better gameplay wise, it really showed in the technical department.

From the completely awesome opening cutscene of Sonic facing off against Eggman to the colourful and vibrant level enviroments during the day time stages and a bit more gloomy but still fairly good looking night time stages this had great graphics for the time.

Unfortunately that's also it. For the time. The game was released fairly early during the Life cycle of the Xbox 360 (march 2008) and while it has aged suprisingly well graphics wise compared to a lot of other games released more recently on the console, it has a tendency to slightly show it's age at times.

But like I said it still is a good looking game and judging it based on the time it was released it's definietly impressive.

There's also little to complain about in the sound department. The game spouts some great soundtracks from start to finish that really amplify the experience, as has come to be expected of sonic games even the terrible ones, well with one or two exceptions *cough sonic boom cough*. The voice acting is for the most part spot on for the characters as well.

The one exception is really a battle theme that keeps playing when encoutering en... Read the rest of this Review
Fantasy Life

The story of my lives
Fantasy Life, this seemed like a very interesting game to me apparently being marketed as a mix of a life sim and an RPG, in the way that it lets you train various professions (or lives as it's called in the game) of which there are twelve These varies from combat lives (like mercenary or paladin) to non combat ones (like angler or cook) it's an interesting concept though it's previously been tried in a few games before this one.

Of course when I noticed this game was also developed by Level5 who are also known for many games in the famous Professor Layton franchise, it further peaked my interest... So let's get into it shall we?

Looks kiddy and sounds kiddy... I'm pretty sure it's kiddy.

Right of the bat, I'd figure I'd mention that this game gives of a very "kiddy" feel overall which is something that can either make or break the game for a lot of people. This starts with the aesthetics, having a very cartoony and kiddy feel to them. Everything from the environments to the characters and even some of the enemies and there's lots of colour. While I do find the graphics to suit the style they're seemingly going for and they don't look bad, from a technical standpoint it isn't really impressive, as some have said before and I'd probably have to agree, while it has some flair here and there it mostly looks like a scaled up DS game but like I said that doesn't mean the game actually looks bad just seems like a waste of potential.

As for the soundtrack it also goes along with the kiddy feel and for the most part I'd say it's well done. The soundtracks all fit each situations well and I found most of them to be pretty good. Though I wished there was some more variety, like how there's a theme that re used for most bosses in the game and the same track always start to play when fighting normal enemies. Also while I did find them to be somewhat good and fairly fitting there wasn't really any soundtrack that was really very memorable to m... Read the rest of this Review
Legend of Zelda, The: Ocarina of Time 3D

Time to take off the nostalgia goggles... Oh wait I don't have any.
I never thought I'd say this since I originally swore to never review this game but after the surprising amount of time it took me to beat this game, it's finally time for my review of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for the 3ds... *gulp*

Well I guess I should mention before I proceed that I'm relatively new to Zelda as a franchise and besides this game I've only really played the original for the NES and oracle of seasons, so I'll pretty much solely be judging this as a stand alone game aside from comparing it to the original for the N64. As such I really don't have much nostalgia for this game either.

.Well with that out of the way, lets just jump right into it shall we...

Well uh before anything else, lets talk changes!

So yes this being a remastering of the original game on for the N64, I figured I'd mention what changes makes it differ from the original.

Firstly the most obvious and by far biggest one, the graphics. They've basically been redone from the ground up, the textures, character models you name it, the game really looks a lot better compared to the original but manages to retain that same somewhat cartoony feel instead of going for something more realistic. And I have to say it is really good by the 3ds standards. They are not completely flawless however as I have noticed a few traces of some details like some of the architecture in the villages looking dated however that is also more of a nitpick. and overall they really have done a great job remaking the graphics.

The other thing I'd like to mention while not a huge addition or anything is sheikah stones. These are stones found in dungeons and some key locations which you crawl into which show hints about how to progress in the game in the form of short gameplay videos. While a nice idea if you absolutely don't want to use walkthroughs they often times end up making things a bit too obvious ruining the point of them in the first pl... Read the rest of this Review

A single player MMORPG?
So this is a game I was really excited for and was pretty much the first game I considered a must buy for my PS4, especially considering I really wanted a good console RPG to play and many seemed to have considered this the best RPG released last year so of course it was only a matter of time before I got it and played it myself.

So without further ado...

Let's get into it!

Graphics: 8

I'd probably consider this one of the better looking games on the PS4 so far. The graphics overall look great, the enviroments especially look fantastic from the luscious and bright looking emerald graves to the dark and rainy fallow mire they all look great and there's a lot of variety that keeps the game from looking dull. The one exception for me would probably be the facial animations which especially during cutscenes can look kind of stiff and dated. I also encountered a pretty large amount of bugs compared to most games like clipping during certain cutscenes (which I thankfully didn't experience too much but i've heard is more common with others), my character being stuck above the ground doing some kind of moonwalk animation when walking (which yes does look pretty hilarious) which was triggered when talking to an npc after jumping or what i'd consider the most annoying thing the conversation option circle (thingy?) "pausing" during conversations which while usually just for a few seconds (except once when the game actually seemed to permanently freeze and I had to restart) I encountered several times and was annoying when I just wanted to get on with the game. Now while this can probably partly be contributed to how open ended the game is I feel like it may have been rushed a bit before release and could still have used more polish and more play testing, and it along with the facial animations does make me lower the score.

Sound: 9

The voice acting for each character is great and varies a lot and I don't really have any... Read the rest of this Review
Watch Dogs

Yo dawg... I heard you like Watch Dogs
As I await the release of Pokemon ORAS (which hasn't been released in Europe yet :c) I thought I'd take a look back at the very first game I played on my PS4 namely Watch Dogs... This is a game that I was very excited about like many others just due to how it was advertised like the first truly next gen game on Xbox One and Playstation 4 not to mention the very interesting concept of hacking in an open world game which made me decide that this would be the first game I would get once I finally got a Playstation 4 myself.

Once the game finally did hit stores it garnered pretty mixed opinions. Some praised it calling it a fresh new take on the genre while others called it a terrible game that was nothing more then a big let down. So where do I stand? Well you're about to find out.

Graphics: 7

So judging from the trailers and previews before the game was released, the graphics looked like they were going to be fantastic and feel truly next gen. However there started to pop up rumors about there being a graphical downgrade and once the game was actually released and people were able to compare the final product with the trailers, it was found to be true. Which in turn has led to Ubisoft getting a lot of hate for falsely advertising the game and rightly so in my opinion.

However...

Despite this the graphics are still fairly good, maybe not the truly next gen look most of us were hoping for but the game still looks good especially during night time although it in many aspects stays fairly faithful to previous open world games. One thing that bothered me about the city though is that the scenery starts to feel repetitive after a while due to the whole game pretty much taking place in the city of Chicago save one small part of the game where you go to a small city just outside of Chicago.

On the other hand, one thing I will applaud the game for is how it has successfully made the citizens of Chicago feel more alive ... Read the rest of this Review
Animal Crossing: New Leaf

A facebook game before facebook games could facebook game... Logic.
So after a long wait it's finally time for another review! This time I'm reviewing Animal Crossing New Leaf for the 3ds.

So I actually got this at launch day last year after having played a little bit of wild world for the ds but otherwise being somewhat inexperienced to the franchise but not enough so I can't make some comparisons :P. And what did I think? Well judging by the score you can probably imagine but yeah.

So let's get into it once again... Not gonna make a bad joke this time.

Graphics: 10

The game features a pretty simplistic art style like the previous Animal Crossing games but it has been improved upon in nearly every aspect. The characters, especially the avatar (as I will call him for the sake of this review because I think calling him the villager can get confusing) who looks a lot taller and more slender compared to previous games allowing for the addition of pants! Yes pants are their own item in this game, finally. Also just things in general look a lot more detailed not just compared to previous animal crossing games but 3ds games overall. This seems like the first animal crossing game to take full advantage of the console it's on instead of just going for a less is more feel while still retaining a similar style to previous games. And it made one of the best looking games on the 3ds when it came out and it still is today. Another cool thing about the game is it allows for a bit more customization when it comes to your town. Not just for the mayor mechanics which we will get into later but the fact that you can actually choose between a few different preset layouts before moving into your town as well as being able to choose where to build your own house and such.

Sound: 9

The game features 24 main tracks that play outside in your town. One for each hour of the day all of which I enjoyed. They manage to capture the feel of the specific time of the day pretty well while still all somewha... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky

Calling all Pokemon fans! Play this game!
So this is a game i've been wanting to review for quite some time to hopefully bring some much needed attention to as this is in my opinion one of the most underrated games on the Nintendo DS but i've never actually gotten around to it so I figured it was about time that i'd tackle it.

So for those who don't know Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky is a remake of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time/Darkness (kind of in the same way as Pokemon Platinum is to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl). To those who are completely new to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series it is basically a dungeon crawling game where you play as the Pokemon themselves instead of being a trainer and the series has grown to become the most succesful Pokemon spin off series ever made.

Well that's about it really let's just crawl right into this review dungeon... Uh... I don't know where I was going with that... Atleast I tried this time.

Graphics: 9

The game is made entirely in 2d and while it doesn't push the system limitations in any way it does have some great graphics. The sprites all look great portraying each Pokemon pretty faithfully and the animation for the different moves do too for the most part though some are re used for similar moves. The look of each dungeon is pretty distinct which helps making them stand out and somewhat helps keep the game from getting dull. Additionally the game features some really fantastic looking images which are used during cutscenes and the only thing I don't like about the graphics is that they didn't have some sort of gallery where you could view different sprites, images etc which is a shame since that means you'll have to start all over to see some of the locations and images. A downside which is probably the main reason I haven't rated it a perfect 10 is that some might find the graphics excluding the images used during cutscenes and such a bit pixelated. I myself didn't really have this problem though.

Mine and Craft, Mine and Craft, Mine and Craft all day loooooooong
Guess who's back! You missed me didn't you? Hehehe... eheheh... heh.

Anyways today I'm writing a review of none other game then the #1 most popular indie game ever made (and probably the most modded game as well) Minecraft!

You know since Microsoft acquired mojang recently I thought it would be the perfect time.

Anyways I don't got much to say about this game... I got it back in April-May to play on the minecraft server... And that was around 4-5 months ago and I've played this game for almost every day since... Go figure. Also I'm approaching this a bit differently then my regular reviews due to diversity of the game but hopefully you'll enjoy reading this review anyways.

[Skips this part]

Graphics: 8

As famous as this game is for being one of the most engrossing games out there, it's also famous for the not so eye pleasing graphics to some which in case you didn't know is voxel based. However I do think this graphics style works pretty well with the games main elements which for me would be mining, crafting and building. Another nice thing about the graphics style is that even your toaster can run it (even my trusty 3 year old laptop). And frankly I think it was a better decision then to go with a more realistic graphics style that would age in just a few years. But I think it really depends on your preferences some might say the uniqueness and simplicity of the graphics has a kind of charm to them. Some might even get a kind of retro feel from them... And you could probably count me into that group. Nevertheless there's another option for those who can't stand the textures of the game in the form of texture packs. Many players have made texture packs for the games in many different styles that are free to download and I've only tried out a few but I'm pretty sure everybody can find something that suits their taste (I'm serious there's even a pack where everything is covered in candy) the one bad thing about th... Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Sir Tophat vs Sir Blueknight: Apprentice Baker
Firstly I need to apologize about this review being late which is mainly due to two things, namely me getting a Ps4 and being busy with school. Nevertheless I completed this game yesterday and I'm finally ready to review it so let's just get right to it.

Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney as you probably know is a crossover title of the aforementioned series that was released November 2012 in Japan and has been localised in English this year (though for some reason we got the English version in Europe 3 months earlier then north America).

And a thing anyone reading this review should know that my knowledge about the professor Layton and phoenix Wright series isn't as comprehensive as some of you might be who are reading this so keep that in mind. This also means that I'll be judging it a bit more as a standalone game rather then compared to games of either series though if I notice any important differences I'll mention that as well. And despite being somewhat inclined to do so I will refrain from writing this review in a Phoenix Wright court like fashion.

Well I ran out of funny things to say here for now so yeah... let's just get into it.
Graphics: 9

The graphics in this game mostly consist of 2d backgrounds (with the occasional 3d effect added in) and 3d character models, and I'd say it fits great. The backgrounds all look fantastic usually being very detailed and fairly varied as well. The character models do too and are very nicely animated as well. The cutscenes are in 2d as to be expected and they all look great and I don't have any problems with them. The 3d effect was utilised pretty well too. So normally I would've given graphics a 10 but there's an unfortunate problem that started occurring about halfway through my playthrough. The framerate started dropping ocassionally during dialogue and the weird part was that it only happened during dialogue and not while solving puzzles or cutscenes and such. It a... How do the current generation Pokemon games hold up?
Before I proceed with this review no this is not the other review I've been working on either... It's been taking a bit longer then I first thought (mainly because I've been too lazy from being busy doing other stuff) but I will get the review out this week as I'm about 2 thirds done with the game.

Yes another Pokemon game... You know I almost started to feel cold when my 3 latest reviews haven't been about Pokemon nor was this going to be either but since the review I planned for now is taking a bit longer then it should and I had a reviewing itch (is that a thing now)
I figured why not review the Pokemon game I knew would be the hardest for me to review!.. As you might know if you read my Pokemon White 2 review, I completely adored it and called it the best game in the main series and I still stand by that statement. So some of you might wonder what exactly I think about Pokemon X and Y and you're about to find out.

-Insert witty joke about how I've said let's get into it too many times-

Graphics: 9

So perhaps the most anticipated thing for many once this game was first revealed was that this would be the first main series game to make the jump to 3d and it did so quite nicely. The Pokemon, environments and characters all look nice and I feel that the graphics style they went for fits the Pokemon universe very well. I have no major complaints really only a few nitpicks such as the camera being a bit awkward at times and while I don't use the 3d effect too much I do still think they could've tried utilising it a bit more. Still the graphics in this game are great and I'd definitely call it the best main series game graphics wise. Also a few other cool features that I thought I would mention is that you are now actually able to pimp out customize your trainer!... Well to some degree as there are clothing shops in many of the towns which you can buy clothes for your trainer from, there's also a few different hair styles/colours... Read the rest of this Review

Legoify your life
So my original plan was to not do any more reviews this week as I'm working on another review which is taking a while (mainly because I have to complete the game I'm reviewing) and I want to make sure that I'll get it out as early as possible next week.

However despite that I still wanted to give you guys something to read in the meantime (like someone actually reads all my reviews... hehehe).

So I decided to take the easy route and review one of the games I've spent the most time playing during my childhood and still occasionally do today, namely Lego Star Wars 2 for the PS2... Well it would be if I didn't eventually switch to an Xbox 360 and got the updated Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga which consists of Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 made into one game along with some extra additions.

So let's ge- Alright you know what? I'm not saying it again it's getting too repetitive.

Graphics: 8

This was the thing I found the hardest to rate really. The characters and objects in the game as you might expect are made out of legos which are in 3d environments. Characters and objects that are made out of Lego look very good, pretty much looking exactly like they would in real life. The animations are done well too, often looking surprisingly realistic. The environments themselves do the job fairly well though I do think they sometimes are slightly lacking in detail and the game did also ocassionally have some camera issues. A cool thing in the game though is building objects. Like in all the Lego games you might come across Lego pieces (not to be confused with the Lego studs that are used as a sort of currency in the game which we'll get into later). These Lego pieces can then be built into objects (which pretty much just means holding down the b button) which will give you studs and might be of use to you or simply be there for show and while it isn't as fun as building stuff in real life, it's still fun to see things just go from a few ... A fun beat em up with Marvel characters! #deadpoolftw
So this game was one of my favorite games from my childhood. I remember my brother having this game for the ps2 and I loved to play it whenever I was at his place. Skip forward a few years and I got an Xbox 360 and he gave me the Xbox 360 version along with a few other games.

So I decided to re visit it and how does it hold up? Well...

Firstly this game is a beat em up with RPG elements. The game mainly consists of choosing your team of 4 superheroes (which you can alter when playing through the game and when you unlock new characters) then play through different levels, defating several smaller bosses as well as one larger boss at the end of each world. As you play through the game you will level up your characters gaining points you can spend to gain new skills or upgrade current ones.

Graphics: 7

The graphics are not the best on the system however I don't think that's something it should be blamed for as it was released in 2006 when current gen (xbox 360, PlayStation 3, wii) was still considered next gen. The game has still aged fairly well though considering the time it was released at and the environments generally look great and are also very varied since it takes you through universes of different marvel characters. The animations for the playable characters are also great with a nice variety of different skills for each character and they also stay pretty faithful to the characters themselves. However at some points, particularly in some of the cutscenes it looks like the scenes were ripped straight from the ps2/xbox versions of the game which you will obviously notice and makes me have to lower the rating.

Sound: 8

There's nothing that I found that bad about this game sound wise. The sound effects are usually pretty good, the voice acting is fairly spot on and the soundtracks are great usually having a pretty dramatic and epic feel to them. And while not the best I've heard they usually fit fairly well.... Read the rest of this Review
Kingdom Hearts 358-2 Days

Kingdom Hurts 358/2 days (Yay for amazingly bad puns).
Well so just when I finished this review, I tried to submit and for some reason it didn't work basically meaning I've had to rewrite the whole review causing it to probably turn out somewhat differently then the original... Yay.

So what can be said for this game... As you may or may not know (most likely the later) I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts fan having played almost all the games. The very first Kingdom Hearts game I played was Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days (as odd as that might be) and it was the game that got me into to the series. So I figured it was time I review a Kingdom Hearts game (also to try and make less of my reviews about Pokemon :P) So let's get into it.

Sound: 10
The soundtrack in this game is amazing, most of the music is pretty emotional (though there are some more light hearted tracks as well) and I feel they can often really help make a scene/battle that more emotional as well as always seemingly being fitting for the situation. The voice acting was also a great and I had no real complaints as far as the voices go. The sound effects most of the time were pretty good and fit the situation well.

Graphics: 9
For a DS game the 3d graphics are probably some of the best I've seen on the system. I was especially impressed by the detail shown in the cutscenes and the game in general looked really good. Though the graphics did glitch a few times and could be a bit blurry on ocassion this wasn't too much of a problem most of the time. With this said, part of me actually wished the game had been released on the PSP instead as I feel the DS was holding it back a bit graphics wise (but that would also mean that I'd need to get a PSP as there would now be 2 Kingdom Hearts game I can't play :/).

Ahem, anyways moving on.

Addictiveness: 7
This game sometimes kept me playing for the Story alone and I often found it very hard to put down, knowing this you might ask yourself: Well Zlinqx if the game kept you that ad... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon White Version 2

Review of what is in my opinion the best Pokemon games to date.
So I just finished my first review of a game that wasn't Pokemon... That also got featured (Yay) though that could've been because there were no other reviews available who knows...

Anyways to celebrate I'm doing yet another Pokemon game! Though this time it's a game that is a bit more modern namely Pokemon White 2.

Like in my Pokemon Blue review everything said here more or less applies to Pokemon Black 2 version as well because the 2 games are nearly identical outside of some differences that does not affect the score.

So lets yet again get into it!

Graphics: 7

Much like in a previous review I'm yet again split on the graphics. While I did find them quite good there are mainly 2 gripes I have. Firstly the 3d, now while I don't dislike them using 3d graphics in the game I don't always think it blends well with the 2d sprites, the same was the case in the original Black and White though I did think it was somewhat improved here. Also the sprites like in black and white, while it's cool to see Pokemon moving and they often do look good they often look just a tad bit too pixelated which will became noticeable since a huge portion of the game will be spent battling. With that said, I did still think the graphics in this game were good and unlike some of the other Pokemon games where I found the layout of the maps a bit repetitive sometimes, this is something I haven't noticed at all here. Each area has it's own feel, I also liked the fact that they decided to give certain places a different look in different versions, while this doesn't really affect the gameplay much, I still thought that was a cool idea that I wished they would've used in X and Y.

Sound: 10

So Pokemon games in general usually do have pretty good soundtracks and what do I have to say about this one? Well I think this is the Pokemon games with the best soundtrack to date without a doubt. When I first got these games, I was already used to t... Read the rest of this Review
Pinocchio

Pinocchio - A forgotten classic?
So it looks like I'll be releasing this review a lot earlier then I originally anticipated, which I'm guessing is because I remembered that this game is short. When I say short, I mean really short. But we'll get to that. I'm a bit more nervous about this review then I was about the other 2 due to this being my first review of a game that isn't a Pokemon game.

So you might be asking yourself... Why Pinocchio? Well you see when I was a mere 5 years old, I wasn't nearly as big on gaming as I am today, I barely even knew what Sega or Nintendo was, but then I got my very first console: a Sega Mega Drive (also called Sega Genesis in North America).

On this console I mainly played 3 games: Aladdin, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Pinocchio. Out of these Pinocchio was probably the one I played the most, most likely because I was a big fan of the movie and because I also found it to be the easiest out of 3. Eventually this became the very first game I completed and despite it being a fairly short and easy game, I was still very proud of myself. So this is why I figured I'd revisit this game almost 10 years later to see how it holds up today.

Graphics: 8

I found the graphics in this game surprisingly good. One thing I noticed in particular was that the developers put in a lot of time into making the animations for the characters. Pinocchio in particular exhibited this, which I thought was quite nice. And while I wouldn't consider it one of the best games on the system, graphics-wise it is still one of the better I've seen.

Sound: 6

The sound in this game isn't particularly amazing but it does the job and some of the soundtracks are a bit catchy. The sound effects on the hand, while okay most of the time will get annoying after a while which does make me have to lower the rating a bit.

Addictiveness: 5

This game is somewhat addicting but it really depends on the stages. Some I find fun and some not as fun... I d... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Blue

A masterpiece or one of the most overrated games of all time?
So since my last review of Pokemon Crystal got some positive feedback I'm doing a 2nd review and this time it's a game I've wanted to review for a long time but haven't really been entirely sure about.

Ah Pokemon Blue... While I did get into Pokemon with the 2nd generation games this didn't stop me from playing the heck out of Pokemon Blue when I first discovered a way to play it on my computer. And I loved them almost just as much as I did the 2nd generation games. But taking off my nostalgia goggles and looking back at it, while this was by no means a bad game, I find it to not quite hold up to the standards of the other Pokemon games, so if you came here thinking I would only be praising the game for how revolutionary it was think again.

And to clarify while this might be self explanatory to some while this is a review for Pokemon Blue Version all that is mentioned in this review does apply to Pokemon Red Version more or less as they are almost identical aside from a few Pokemon being exclusive to each version. Pokemon Yellow on the other hand has a few differences which I might be covering sometime in the future.

Anyways all that aside lets get on with the review!

Sound: 9
The sound in this game is nothing to sneeze at sporting many memorable soundtracks such as the nostalgic and uplifting pallet town soundtrack or the chilling lavender town soundtrack, they all have that feel to them which gets you in the mood to play some Pokemon. The sound effects aren't anything too special again mostly just to add to the immersion and I feel that they fit the game fine. Sound wise this is in my opinion one of the best games on the system. A nitpick is that when using the bicycle (which is probably something you will be using a lot to speed up travelling around the world) the theme that plays while not bad doesn't stop untill you get off your bicycle which will get annoying after a while.

I'm kind of split on... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Crystal

My first ever review!
So after a bit of thinking I decided I'm going to review a game just to cross it off my 999 things to do on vizzed before I die list and what game would be better to review then the game I've undoubtedly spent the most time on out of all the games in the retro game room and perhaps even of all time:

Pokemon Crystal

So without further ado let's get into it!

Sound: 9

I feel the sound in this game is probably the most underrated thing about it. I loved the music in this game from the calm and relaxing tune in Azalea Town to the alarming music when encountering one of the 3 legendary beasts or the epic theme when battling against the champion. This game has very varied soundtracks and I feel they really add to the experience and get you in the mood to play Pokemon. Without it the game just wouldn't feel the same. The sound effects while nothing to special are nice and add to the immersion of the game.

Graphics: 9

The graphics for what they had to work with are actually quite impressive and are usually very colourful and upbeat but can be dark at times as well adding to the adventure. They also fixed the sometimes horrendous sprites from Pokemon Red and Blue and just in general made things look better and more alive. This bring me to a new addition to the game that wasn't in Pokemon Gold and Silver which is that pokemon actually move in this game!.. Well for the first 2 seconds of when they are sent out nevertheless this was a pretty cool thing for the time and helps with the immersion. A nitpick I have is that a lot of locations share similar looks in some ways which does make the layouts have a slightly repetitive feel sometimes.

Addictiveness: 10

Here we go probably the best part about Pokemon in general is just how addictive it can be. How much time I've spent playing this game is proof of that. Unless you hate playing turn based RPGs you are probably going to be playing this game for quite some ... Read the rest of this Review

Bloodborne Tips & Tricks for Newbs
So a few weeks ago I got Bloodborne having never played any of the games in the souls series (which is made by the same creator) I thought I'd complete this in a few days and review it.

But oh boy I was wrong this game is brutally hard and I'm far away from beating it right now, fortunately after Rage quitting several times I have picked up some things which is what I intend on sharing in this thread since hopefully they should at least make the start of your Blooborne adventure a lot less... Rage-y.

So yeah here's an assortment of stuff to help you on your journey in bloodborne!

Tip #1 When encountering your first enemy, die.

Once you encounter the first enemy in the game, the wolf creature you'll have no weapons so just go ahead and die because then you'll be transported to the hunter's dream where you'll be able to pick your weapons... Don't try to be super macho man like me and try to kill it with your fists... Just don't.

So once you do get there, you'll be able to pick your weapons so here I've included a brief overview of each weapon and additional advice from me regarding them to help make your choice easier:

Main Weapons:

1. Threaded Cane

My preferred weapon. Which is basically a cane (I call it the pimp cane :3) which in it's normal form is used to stab the enemy which is typically useful for thougher enemies. It also has an alternative form by pressing l1 that transforms it into a chain whip, which is useful for common mobs like the towns folk. I think this is generally good for skill stat based characters and is generally the fastest weapon but that at the same time packs the least punch.

2. Saw Cleaver

Generally the most balanced out of the weapons having decent speed but also decent force. It has two forms, a shorter version that's quicker but obviously can't reach as far, and a longer but slower version for more reach, each useful for d... Read the rest of this Guide

Pokemon Crystal Complete Walkthrough #1 - A brand new EGGventure...
This is a new series of guides I'm making for the game Pokemon Crystal where I plan on covering almost everything about the game this will start with a walkthrough but I'll also be putting out things like a Pokemon Location guide, tips and tricks and other useful stuff in the future. I'll be releasing this walkthrough in parts on a weekly basis similar to my reviews. This is a new idea of mine so I'd love to get some feedback. With that said I hope you find this of use!

Introduction

So ready to start your adventure in the world of Johto are you? Brilliant! Well right of the bat after watching the epic and confusing intro cutscene I'd recommend going into the options menu and changing the text speed to fast. After that you can start by selecting a new game, and at this point it's pretty self explanatory. Professor Oak asks you what time it is and then says he's overslept (or apparently doesn't need sleep depending on what time of day you're playing).  You'll do a few basic things like telling him if you're a boy or a girl because apparently I look just a little bit too feminine as well as telling him your name.

With that out of the way you'll finally enter the world of Pokemon and before you check. no there isn't a potion in the PC that's in the 1st gen games only sadly enough. There's not much to do upstairs so you can go on and head down stairs where you'll meet up with your mom who will give you a pokegear and tell you to go see Professor Elm.

New Bark Town

So heading outside you should go to the Professor Elm's laboratory to the left of your house. If you want you can explore the town but there's not really much to gain from doing so. Either way, once inside the laboratory you'll talk to Professor Elm. He'll ask you to help him with his research by raising one of his Pokemon. Right before allowing you to choose one though he'll get an email which he explains is from his acquaintance Mr.Pokemon. He has apparently m... Read the rest of this Guide
