Wild Arms 3

This started as a train robbery?
Alrighty, back and better than ever. Hello and welcome to my review of a game that is now one of my greatest treasues. Been a while but I am happy to be brining this to everyone and anyone willing to hear an honest man's opinion. What Game is this you ask? Well none other than Wild Arms 3 ofcourse. This JRPG takes us into the bowels of a wasteland where people get shot for looking at a guy the wrong way. Wild wild west baby, we got it all. Bet you never expected to play an RPG where everyone packs heat, did ya. If that isn't enough to sell this game to you then I guess it's my job to tell you everything you need to know to make sure you start shelling out them rupees for this sucker. Without further adieu, I present you with every reason I can think of for you and your friends and their friends and so on, to play this game.

This game is beautiful. I'll say it again, This game is BEAUTIFUL. Now keep in mind that this game is set in a wastland full of sand. STILL BEAUTIFUL. Cell shaded graphics merged with fluid animations just makes every moment of this game all the more sweet. Don't believe me? I challenge you to look up some gameplay and still think otherwise. The world itself is vast and as you would think of any wasteland, dreadfully empty. As far as landscape texture goes we get sand, sandier, quicksand, rocky and the occasional patch of grass. Doesn't sound too appealing however you will find yourself looking down at that horizon more than once. All in all this game is visually stunning and will have you coming back for more every day. SO what could possibly make this a 9 instead of a perfect 10? Simple. It's a lot of the same. Though it doesn't get old fast like you would expect, the landscape isn't very diverse and lacks certain qualities that a wasteland should have such as bones and wreckage. It's still so beautiful though so I just have to give it a 9.

Playing with peoples lives is STILL FUN!!
FINALLY! IT'S HERE! Hello everyone and welcome to yet another review of mine. I've been waiting to do this one since I finished the first game so you can tell how PUMPED I am for finally finishing this masterpiece. Advance Wars 2... what can I say about it. When I started it up I wasn't sure how they were gonna top the first game but then in a matter of seconds I found out. This game was everything the first game was and more. Topped with new CO's, new powers, new maps and a new story, we got everything we wanted from this series right here. If you enjoyed the first game then this one will still blow your socks off. You play chess? Play this game. You play strategy/tactics RPG's? Play this game. You play video games in general? PLAY THIS GAME!

Now that I've made my state of mind clear it almost seems worthless to write this review... almost. However we all need facts mixed up with opinions with a topping of advertisement don't we. So I'm gonna make this review as best I can and hopefully by the end, you will understand why you should, could, and would play this game. So without further chatter we can begin with the basics of the basics.

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising is a Strategy game for the Game Boy Advance and sequel to the original Advance Wars. Set in an unknown time in a place called Wars World, four nations fight for supremacy... at least they used to. Now they are all buddy buddy as they continue their coexistence with their fellow nations. These nations are no different than the last game however there will be those new to the series so they shall be listen anyway. We have the ever lucky Orange Star, the cool calm Blue Moon, the ever tactful Yellow Comet, and the Fight Fight Fight center of the world Green Earth. "but..but, what's the "Black Hole" in the title mean?" Okay fine his time there is a fifth nation along for the ride. Acting as enemy for the sake of story we have the diabolical nation known as Black Hole. As the first game w... Read the rest of this Review
Metal Slug 4 (set 1)

Can't beat me. I'm INVINCIBLE!
Ok, it's been a while but I'm finally back in the reviewers seat. I wish I could have come back sooner but I just couldn't find something short enough to beat... until I realized I've already beat this one a few times. But enough about me this is a game review not a life review. So I guess I'll start with the title. Metal Slug 4. What else can I say... fourth game in the Metal Slug series and like the others it's all fun and guns. Not much else to say about an arcade game so Let's move onto the categories.

Graphics: 7
It's an older arcade game so I know I can't be expecting much but... aside from the monkey and the new characters, this game has absolutely nothing in it that makes it stand out from the other games. You could probably put footage of Metal Slug 1, 2, and 3 next to footage of this and would think they were all of the same game. That being said, there isn't a necessity for 3d effects or awesome design seeing as this was a game meant for sucking quarters and not long time beauty. So this game gets a 7 for doing it's job, even though it doesn't really add anything new to the overall graphics of the series. Now if only I could reach in and take that monkey as my pet.

Sound: 8
The sound is probably the best part of the game. Overall the sound does what is needed, which is to pump you up for killing things and let you know when it's BOSS TIME!!! I'm going to go into more detail now so as per feedback I shall use multiple paragraphs so as not to confuse you guys/gals. (Thanks to all who gave feedback on my first review)

We'll start on the voice acting. Honestly there isn't too much to talk about since the characters themselves do not speak. What we do get is the announcer, which I must say is one of the best parts of the game. I could probably use a loop of him saying "RAWKATE LAWNCHA" as a lullaby. Aside from the announcer we have the screams of the fallen and that's about it. Needless to say I enjoy the voice acting in this... Read the rest of this Review

Playing with peoples lives is FUN!!
OH damn, that was a trip. Hello everyone and welcome to my review of what is now one of my favorite games, "Advance Wars." I will start by saying I have been having so much fun playing this game and that you can expect high scores in the future. Alright let's move on to the main event.

Advance Wars is a turn based strategy game for the Game Boy Advance. The game takes place during a war between four color coded countries. These countries are Orange Star, Blue moon, Green Earth, and Yellow Comet. You control one of their armies and fight the other(s) until their army is destroyed. The game has several game modes including Campaign, Vs Mode, and Link mode. I will cover these modes and more during the depth section so just wait until then for more information on that.  I guess that's most of the basic info for the game so let's move on to the beef of this review so I can start talking about how great this game is.

Graphics: 9

This game looks great. From the sprites, to the environments, to the battle animations. I personally wouldn't change a thing if I had the chance to. I love the graphics just the way they are and that's final. However we come to the reason I have rated it a nine instead of a ten. The only qualm I have with the graphics is this. When a unit finishes it's turn, rather than staying the position it is already in, it reverts to a standard "facing right" position. This just strikes me as odd and it has no effect on the gameplay in any way. That being said, I still would not change this given the chance to because I can see the benefit of it to some people. Now to get into more detail about what makes the graphics so beautiful. We'll start with the sprites. The sprites are what you would call "beyond cute" and yet however they still do a great job of conveying which unit they are and can still be quite scar at times. (Especially when you realize just how many mid tanks your opponent has) The environment is... Read the rest of this Review
