Sonic Multi You lose a life if you get over 250 rings? lol
Zork Zero This is probably something only tRIUNE can fix. I'm not sure if the RGR plugin would allow you to use multiple roms/image files for one game.
Space Battle Final Ouch. My ears.
Jitter Not sure how to play this game at all. lol
Classic NES Series - Pac-Man This game doesn't load at all for me. How the heck does it have an assigned screenshot? XD
Sonic 2 Recreation - Part One Ugh. That last zone is so hard, especially when I'm playing it for the first time. :P
Pro Action Replay 2 (Program) Nothing but a black screen.
The Flintstones (LX-2) *sighs* Another not working mame game. :P
Galaga '90 Dang. I remember playing this years ago on my ps2 in some awesome namco collection thing. (forgot whats it called) Awesome game, but somewhat lags for me in this emulator. :P
Delta info Pretty much displays a syntax error no matter how much times you type "run" then press enter. :P

Not as great as the arcade version, but not bad at all!
Hey guys. So, I'm finally back with another review. This is actually a game that I've been playing for a while since last weekend. One of my favorite kind of games on my favorite system. Let's get started on the review!

Intro: Not as great as the arcade version but not bad at all!

Well, pacman is basically one of my favorite games I like to play, which is why I like pacmania. I've played the arcade version of this before. Then I decided to try out the Sega Genesis version. The arcade version basically has better sound and graphics then the Genesis version but the gameplay is about the same to me. The Genesis version is still pretty good though.

In this game, you play as pacman in a 3D maze and you simply run away from the ghosts and eat all of the dots to move on to the next level. One advantage you have compared to the original pacman is that you can jump! Equally, one disadvantage you have is that there are more than 4 ghosts! (In the later stages, there are tons of ghosts!)

Graphics: 8

Not as good as the arcade version in my opinion, however, it's still pretty good. The graphics are bright and colorful. The arcade version is somewhat a little dull compared to this version but it's a lot more 3D-ish though. In the intro (A picture that comes up before the main menu), pacman looks like some crazy maniac. He's standing there in a weird position smiling as if he's on a sugar rush standing so close to the short green ghost and the green ghost is just staring at him expressionless and somewhat afraid. But I guess it sort of fits this game.

In the game itself, the graphics are bright and animated 3D. (In other words, not real 3D but sort of like a moving 3D drawing, but it's still good.) Each and every ghost in this game seem to have different personalities just by looking at their faces. (Like the yellow ghost looks afraid, the blue one looks bored and serious, the purple one looks very serious and mad, ... Read the rest of this Review
Dig Dug

Simply fun like a lot of other retro games!
Hey guys. I'm back with another review. This time I'm going to review Dig-Dug for the Famicom Disk System. Let's go ahead and start!

Intro: A simple and fun game

After I have played this game for a while (and I've also played it a long time ago before), the first thing that came up to my mind was that this game is "Simply fun".

The main reason it is "Simply fun" is because the objective of the game is really simple and yet it's a fun game. There are also a lot of retro games out there that are also simple and fun. (Pac-man, Mappy, Galaga.. etc, duh) All you have to do is to just eliminate all monsters in the level to move on to the next level. To do that, just press the "fire" button to shoot a little gun that will inflate your enemies and continually tap the fire button until your enemy explodes. However, be careful not to touch your enemies or you'll lose a life.

You play as the guy dressed in white and blue who can dig through the ground and fill his enemies with air. You're enemies are the monsters in the level. (The weird tomato looking guy with goggles on and the green dragon who can shoot fire while his wings glow). Now, let's dive into more details about this game.

Graphics: 7

Well, just like how the game itself is simple, I'd say that the graphics look pretty simple as well. However, the graphics aren't really that bad. Just a black background with the 2nd ground showing layers underground in different colors. It starts out with a slight color of yellow, then turns orange and turns more orange-ish as you move down the layers underground. In future levels, there will also be light blue and green. You can basically see all of this in the screenshots.

As for the characters, there aren't much details shown but it's fine. The character you play as is just in the white and blue suit. As for your enemies, there is a tomato looking guy who keeps hoping around with goggles on and there is a... Read the rest of this Review

Surprisingly a good game....
Hey guys. I'm back with another review. This time I found something that was quite interesting for me to review. Just one thing to mention before I start, this is NOT for the red/green jersey for the TDV. I'm just doing my staff job. Now, let's get started!

Intro: All I can say is that I was surprised....
Normally, I don't really play Atari games. I have nothing against Atari games but I'm just one of those people who don't like it. Oddly enough, when I actually tried this game, I actually liked it.

The game itself is pretty simple just like most Atari games. All you need to do is to just avoid all projectiles and collect all bells to move on to the next level. There are 14 levels in this game. You can walk left and right with the arrow keys and jump. You can also climb up and down ladders. I have to say that I liked this game. Now, let's find out why.

Graphics: 6

Keep in mind that this is an Atari game so the graphics won't be very "stunning" or "beautiful". Though, one thing to mention is that the graphics for this game is NOT ugly at all. Each and every level in this game have different layouts and different platform colors, which is sort of cool and much better than having each and every level in the same color. As for the character that you play as (which is that yellow figure), he's actually a man if you were not able to notice that. To me, he honestly doesn't look like a hero. He looks like some fat man that just came out of McDonald's. Though, I don't have a problem with that. As for the red figure in the beginning of the game, that appears to be trapped but trying to follow the man, she is actually a woman. I honestly thought she was some kind of monster or creature at first. (Ok, I know I sound stupid saying this but I'm being honest. lol)As for the purple stuff that randomly gets shot out of the sides of each level, those are projectiles that you need to avoid. One thing that I liked about the g... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic 2 Recreation - Part One
06-21-14 09:09 PM
Definitely such a different recreation compared to the original....
Hey guys. Now, it's time to continue my reviewing for my staff role. This time, I'm gonna review a Sonic hack! The last time I reviewed a Sonic hack was probably around February so I thought, "Why not review one of my favorite game franchise that I haven't reviewed in a while?". Anyways, let's get started!

Intro: *Starts the game* Uhh... What? Sonic Advance  on a Sega Genesis??? (Not really....)

Honestly, when I started playing this game at first, I thought for a second that I was playing Sonic Advance . It was way too similar to Sonic advance  in many ways for a Sega Genesis. Just look at the title screen and the home screen and you'll already know what I'm talking about, but this isn't really some kind of Sonic hack where it would exactly be like Sonic advance  on the Sega Genesis, it is just similar to Sonic advance  in some ways, while having completely different levels and stuff, which I will go into detail in the upcoming sections of my review. I actually like this hack because I like Sonic advance , but I didn't like the gba, but I like the Sega Genesis. This hack has quite a lot of changes that it's somewhat a little hard to believe that it's a Sonic 2 hack. Let's go ahead and dive in to some more detail about this game.

Gameplay: 9

There were quite an amount of aspects in this Sonic 2 hack that made me really like the gameplay of this game. Firstly, the physics are basically like Sonic 3 or Sonic 2's physics. (Honestly, it's a little hard to compare between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3's physics since they feel like the same to me.) There are also several characters you can play as: Sonic (alone), Sonic & Tails, Knuckles (alone), Knuckles & Tails, Sonic & Knuckles, Tails (alone) and RedHotSonic (which is a made up character, I guess) .  Each one with their own special abilities but a bit modified for some of them.

So, when you play as Sonic, he can do the spin dash (by pressing an... Read the rest of this Review
Pac-Man Remix

Not Too Shabby? Maybe?
Hey guys. It has been a while ever since I made a review but now I got to make another one for my staff role. So this time, I decided to go into making a review of a random hack I find of any game in the RGR and I guess I'll review this game. Let's get started!

Intro: Pac-Man Remix? Is that a new song???

No, it is certainly not a song. Well, for what I'm reviewing at least. To simply explain it, this game is a hack for "Pac-Man (Tengen)" for the Nintendo NES, which can also be played on vizzed. There weren't really any drastic or amazing changes from the original, but it's still a somewhat worthwhile hack to try out if you like to play various pacman games. There were some new graphic/color changes, new maze, and even a new ghost! Which I will go into detail in the upcoming sections of the review. Let's go ahead and dive in!

Gameplay: 8

Well, what's the objective of the game? I'm probably going to be Mr. Obvious here and there in this review since everyone knows what Pacman is, but I have to say all necessary details to the best of my abilities whether they are obvious or not. Anyways, as you all know, you are pacman. (Obviously that little yellow/orange ball who can gobble up dots, just saying if you're somehow totally lost) What you need to do is to simply eat all of the dots in the maze and avoid all of the ghosts. You can also eat the big dots to be able to eat the ghosts for a short amount of time. Yeah, everyone knows this.

Now, let's start going into some less obvious details. So, I have mentioned earlier that there was a new ghost. His name is "Steel". He simply looks like a gray ghost. But now, where's the pink ghost, "Pinky"? Well, he's actually gone. He was replaced with "Steel". Now, why do I mention this in the gameplay section? Because, when you eat the big dot, all of the ghosts will turn blue so you can be able to eat them, all except "Steel". He's the only one who actually can NOT turn blue no matte... Super Burger Time (World, set 1)
04-25-14 09:32 PM
Well, it's Burger Time! Wait... Super Burger time?
Well, hey guys! I guess it's time to continue on with my reviews. About 1-3 months ago, I would usually go by making reviews of a series of a certain franchise or a certain type of game (like my sonic marathon reviews I did a few months ago). But now, I sort of got bored of that so I'm mostly going to be completely random in the games I review so it can be more interesting. And one more thing, this is not for the TDV so go complain over something like that elsewhere. Let's start on the review now!

Intro: Burger Time? Is that a cooking game? Really?

Well, to answer that question, no, it is not really a cooking game that your thinking of but it is related to burgers and food. Now, one interesting thing to say, if you really asked that question I brought up next to the "Intro:", then you either completely forgot what this game is and you need a reminder or you really have no idea what this game is. If you forgot this game and need a reminder, look at the screenshots. Looks pretty familiar now, ehh? Well, if you still have no idea, let me explain:

So, this is an arcade/mame game, obviously. This is sort of a new or a remake of an original game called "Burger time" where it has very similar gameplay but enhanced graphics and sounds, which is how it got it's name, "Super Burger Time". If you're still somehow lost about what this game is, I am going to of course continue explaining this game as I move on in this review. (I don't want to hog up all the info in the intro) Now, let's move on.

Gameplay: 9

Very simple and yet fun gameplay, really. So, this is how the game works: Do you see that little guy who looks like a chef? Well, as you can guess, you are going to play as that guy. Now, as you can see from the screenshots of the game, the level literally looks like a bunch of platforms and ladders, well, it is actually a bunch of platforms and ladders. XD So, you can obviously walk left and right on the platforms by using the lef... Read the rest of this Review

Hack/Clone of a Simply Awesome Game
Well, hey guys. It has been a while since I made a review. I have pretty much been occupied with homework and studying for A.Ps. But luckily I now have the time to make a review. (And first thing to point out, NO, this is NOT for the TDV so go lip about something for the TDV elsewhere, just doing my staff job. I honestly didn't feel like making a review thanks to the TDV but I can't stop myself because I need to do my job as a staff member). So anyways, let's go ahead and start on the review!

Intro: Uhhh.... Gatsbee?

"Gatsbee?" Well, that was actually the very first question I asked myself the first time I saw this game. To be honest, I really have no idea what "Gatsbee" even means or if it is related to the game in anyway, I don't even think it's even a word lol. I guess it's just more of an average made-up name for a game... Or does it actually have some type of meaning? Well, I don't really know so I'm not going to make up some information about it nor am I going to say anything false.

Anyways, so this game is actually a clone (or hack? Not sure whats the difference.) of Galaga from Namco. As you can guess, it is an arcade/mame game. This game is quite similar to Galaga in several ways, but with a few changes here and there, which I will talk about in the upcoming sections of this review. Anyways, let's go ahead and dive in a bit deeper to the game!

Gameplay: 9

So, most of us may already know what Galaga is and how to play it. A very simple game, Right? Well, I got to make my review 100% noob-friendly so anyone and everyone can read and understand what I'm actually talking about. So, just in-case you have no idea how this game works, let me give you an idea.

So, you see that ship in the bottom of the screen? Yes, that is obviously you. You are the one controlling that ship. You can move it left and right just like the original Galaga in the same speed. However, here is something new, unlike the original Galaga... Read the rest of this Review
Pac-Man 3D

Waka-Waka Awesomeness!
Well, hey guys. So, I'm back here with another review. This time, I was simply just browsing around in the RGR and I found this game. I played it for a while and I liked it, so I continued playing it for a while until I decided to make this game the next game for me to review. So anyways, let's go ahead and get started on the review!

Intro:

So, to explain this game, it is a hack of Ms. Pacman for the nintendo NES. And yes, I was sort of Mr. Obvious right there but ehh... ok. This hack features graphic changes and level changes. I think ALL of the levels were completely changed. I must say that it is a pretty good hack of Ms. Pacman. The graphics were made to look 3D (sort of) and all the levels are very different from the original and they are quite fitting to the 3D modified graphics. I'm not 100% sure what was the exact purpose of this hack or if it was dedicated from something but ehh... Doesn't matter at all. It's a fairly well done hack. Now, let's go ahead and jump in deeper to this review!

Gameplay: 9

Well, I'll definitely have to say that I really enjoy this hack's gameplay. I'll go ahead and explain why and compare it to the original Ms. Pacman game at the same time. So, as most (or maybe even all) of us know, the original Ms. Pacman for the NES is 2D. You are completely limited to only moving through the paths of the maze. Now, as for this hack, you can think of the gameplay as more of a Pacman in real life running around with ghosts after him instead of a 2D and somewhat limited feeling in a maze. Some levels have some open spots, some have a lot of open space and you can freely move in any direction you want as if you are running in real life. And of course, as you can guess, there are walls around in the levels that you can't jump over. Like there are fences, buildings, walls, trees... etc and those are what limits your free movements.

What makes things even more cool and interesting is that the 4... Read the rest of this Review
Frogger

Hopin' To a 3D World! A Hard-ly Fun Challenge!
Well, hey guys! So, I'm now back with another review! This time, it's a non-sonic review. (The Sonic marathon reviews ended and I got somewhat bored to make more sonic reviews.) This is also my 1st review for this month as staff and this is my 1st time I review a PSX game. Anyways, let's go ahead and get started right onto the review!

Intro:

So, to start off this review, let's start it off with a question for you. Why not? Anyways, have you ever heard of the original 2D frogger? haha, actually there are a lot of 2D frogger games out there. Normally for those 2D simple frogger, it is a simple game where you just have to reach to the top of the screen and go to the one of the open areas on the top while avoiding all hazards such as cars and the river. Well, as for this game, the gameplay may feel somewhat similar to the 2D frogger games out there, except you are in a huge 3D world! Actually, there are even more than one 3D worlds in this game! You simply have to guide the frog and avoid all hazards and reach to the little colorful frogs and save them! And of course, you must save each and every one of them and they are all scattered in different and certain areas within the level. Huh, may sound like a really simple and easy concept for a game, right? Well, now, I'm gonna (try) to dive in deeper to the game, then you'll know that it is not necessarily that case!

Gameplay: 9

Alright, so the gameplay may seem sort of simple, really? Wouldn't you agree? Well, just because it may seem simple doesn't mean that it is not fun. Let me explain it, so, you play as frogger. (Which is obviously the green frog you play as, I'm not 100% sure if that is his name but I don't see any other names for him). What frogger must do is that there are small, lost, and colorful frogs scattered in certain areas in 3D levels that he must save. How it works is that frogger can hop left, right, up, and down. (No, really?) And there is actually a littl... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic 1 - Code Gray

Code Gray? Too
Hey guys. So, today, I'll be continuing on with my Sonic hacks marathon reviews. We might be reaching an end to these Sonic hacks marathon reviews very soon. It might possibly end next Wednesday or Friday. Afterwards I'll be making non-sonic reviews (but not an everyday marathon like this). So, I was going through the RGR for the next Sonic hack to review, I found this game and played it for a while, then I thought it was good enough to review. So, let's go ahead and start on the review.

EDIT: I'm sorry to mention this but this is gonna be my last Sonic review for the Sonic hacks marathon reviews I have done. I just forgot to mention this. My future reviews for my staff role (if I get one hopefully) will be non-sonic reviews. Anyways.....

Intro: Too Grey? But how?

Alright, so, in the title of this review, I didn't literally mean that it is literally grey, I was sort of talking about the quality of the color grey that is somehow similar to the quality of this review. Which I would say, not so bad, not that good. Well, ehhh.... I wouldn't blame you if you get too confused with what I mean but hopefully you know what I'm getting too. So, anyways, as you can obviously see, this is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the Sega Genesis (No, really?). It features a lot of graphic changes (typically about everything of the graphics were modified indeed), a lot of sound changes (mostly for the background musics), and last but not least, some zones and acts layout changes. (As in they are different from the original zones). Basically, those are really the basic changes for a lot of Sonic 1 hacks, nothing really very unique or dedicated for this Sonic hack but it doesn't always have to be very unique or special to be a very good hack. Honestly, for the title of this Sonic 1 hack, "Sonic 1 - Code Gray", I barely have any idea what that has to actually do with the game itself since it doesn't show any type of hint relating to it, but it doesn't always ha... Sonic - Into The Void (v2.4)

The Void of Awesomeness
Hey guys. So today, I'll be continuing on with my Sonic hacks marathon reviews and looks like I bumped into another Sonic 1 hack and I must say that I liked this game for many reasons, which I will explain. Anyways, let's go ahead and start right onto the review!

Intro:

So, to basically explain it, it is obviously a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the Sega genesis. (No, duh) It features graphic changes (about everything for the graphics were changed) and zone changes (most of them are almost like new zones but still a bit similar to the original zones). It also appears to have a bit of an enhanced gameplay experience. Also, as for the title, it completely relates to the story of this game (which I will explain in the story portion of this game). And yea, surprisingly the story was changed too. Anyways, Let's go ahead and dive in deeper to this Sonic 1 hack!

Gameplay: 9

Alright, let's go ahead and start off with the gameplay like usual. (Basically the most significant thing about Sonic games) So, I actually found the gameplay to be pretty good in this Sonic 1 hack. There were basically about 3 factors that made the gameplay pretty nice.

The first factor that I'll start off with will be the special abilities. So, you can obviously run and jump like usual. Also, this Sonic 1 hack includes the Sonic 2 spin dash move (by simply holding the down key while standing on the ground and tap the jump key to charge your speed then let go to blast off! No, duh) I usually like it when Sonic games/hacks would include the spin dash move since I find it really fun and useful in many cases in many areas in the acts and zones. Like, if your having trouble running up a hill, you can do the spin dash or if you simply want to just move fast while destroying the badniks in your path... etc. You guys who played Sonic games before would know. Anyways, now the next really awesome move that I like is the air-dash and homing attack. To do that... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic - The Lost Land
02-21-14 11:14 PM
Lost Awesomeness....
Well, hey guys. So, today, I'll (try to hopefully) continue on with my Sonic hacks marathon reviews. So, originally, I was supposed to probably review this game yesterday and review "Sonic- The Lost Land 2" today, but, I played "Sonic- The Lost Land 2" first and I liked it so I reviewed it and forgot that there was the first lost land (this Sonic hack), then I realized after I was almost done with my review yesterday. lol. But ehh... Oh well. Anyways, let's go ahead and (try to) get started on this review!

Intro: Lost Land?

Well, to be honest here, I barely have any idea how the title, "The Lost Land" even relates to the game since this game didn't appear to have any type of descriptions or hints about it, but, it's kind of a cool, interesting, and somewhat average for a title of a Sonic hack. Though, I can say that the different zones in this Sonic hack does make you feel like as if you are somewhat "Lost" in your adventure, but I don't know what "Land" are they even talking about. So, now, to basically explain it, it is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the Sega Genesis (No, duh, what other system?). It features quite an amount of graphic changes (typically everything for graphics were modified), there were also lots of sound changes, a lot of the zones were pretty different, and the gameplay feels somewhat different, which I will shortly explain. One thing I find somewhat cool is the way this Sonic hack is a hack of Sonic 1, meanwhile, "Sonic- The Lost Land 2" is a hack of Sonic 2. It's kind of cool to see them both be a hack of a different game instead of seeing them both as Sonic 1 hacks or both as Sonic 2 hacks. It makes you feel that change between the both of them. Yea, I guess I introduced you enough to this game, it's time to go ahead and go deeper in the game!

Gameplay: 9

I must say that I pretty much love the gameplay. To explain it, it is because a lot of the zones are very different from original and I always enjoy ... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic - The Lost Land 2
02-20-14 11:12 PM
Good, funny, cool... etc. Here and There
Well, hey guys. So, I guess I'll (try to hopefully) continue on with my Sonic (hacks) marathon reviews. So, we will continue to mostly go through Sonic 2 hacks for a short while. Something a bit interesting I found is that the recent sonic hacks I reviewed has some good depth (including this one and it happened about 3 times in a row already!). Anyways, let's get started on the review!

Intro:

Alright, so, as you guys can probably guess, this is simply a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, obviously for the Sega Genesis. This hack features quiet a great amount of graphic changes, the background musics were switched around through the zones, and majority of the zones were pretty much modified, graphically, background music, and zone-wise. As for the title of this Sonic hack, "Sonic- The Lost Land 2", I guess it kind of fits the title of this Sonic hack pretty well since the way the zones were modified does make Sonic look like he is going through some type of lost adventure against Dr. Eggman, but, not 100% sure what the "Land" really refers to. Anyways, let's go ahead and find out some more about this supposedly "Lost" Sonic hack!

Gameplay: 9

Okay, so based off what I know after I played this Sonic hack for a while, majority of the zones appeared to be mostly changed, some zones were mostly original (but with graphic and sound changes). I actually kind of like playing and exploring the modified zones. They are quite different from the original zones and they really bring up new challenges and traps. As for the special abilities, there is nothing really special compared to the original. Sonic can still run and jump and do the spin-dash (by tapping the jump button while holding the down key on the ground, no duh). However, there is one thing that makes me wonder and somewhat unsure about. I'm not a 100% sure but I almost feel like as if the physics were somewhat modified in some way. When Sonic moves in steep areas, his speed doesn't reall... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic 2 Adventure Edition (v2.0)
02-19-14 11:02 PM
Gives a Strange and Different Gameplay Expierence
Well, hey guys, I guess it's time to (attempt to) continue on with my sonic marathon review. We are now arriving at my (possibly or probably) last 8-10 reviews of Sonic games before I move on to non-sonic reviews next month. Anyways, let's go ahead and start right onto the review!

Intro:

As you guys can probably guess, this is a Sonic hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the sega genesis. (Well, no duh). This mostly features quite an amount of changes in gameplay. The gameplay was really modified in such a unique way that it definitely brought up such a different experience in gameplay compared to most other Sonic hacks and the original Sonic games for the sega genesis. (Which I will shortly explain in the gameplay section of my review). Now, as for the title of this game, "Sonic 2 Adventure Edition (v. 2.0)", I'm really not sure how it uniquely relates to this Sonic hack. I mean, all Sonic games does have an adventure that Sonic (and/or Tails or Knuckles... etc), doesn't it? No, duh. Ehh, but I guess it is a pretty decent name for a Sonic hack. It's kind of funny a little at how no one else came up with that name for a Sonic hack. Anyways, now, let's dive in deeper to the review of this game!

Gameplay: 9

Well, now it's time to explain how the gameplay is pretty unique. To explain it, there are quite an amount of changes in controls (mostly) and special abilities. You can play as Sonic the Hedgehog and/or Tails the Fox in this Sonic hack, each with their special abilities that were really changed, which I will explain:

Sonic the Hedgehog:

With Sonic, you can run and jump normally, however, there are some changes in the controls. You can jump by pressing the A and C buttons. If you press A or C while in mid-air, you will do a homing attack, however, that homing attack is pretty different from the other homing attacks I have seen in other Sonic games/hacks for the Sega Genesis. Normally, how most homing attacks w... Read the rest of this Review

Simple Changes but A Good Hack!
Well, hey guys. So, I guess I'll just try to continue on with my Sonic marathon reviews until the end of the month. (10 days remaining!) I was intending on finding a Sonic 2 hack to review but I randomly found and started playing this Sonic 1 hack for a while, but I must say, I actually liked it so I guess I'll just review this for today instead! Now, let's go ahead and jump to the review!

Intro:

To basically explain this game, it is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the Sega Genesis. (Yea, thats pretty obvious). It mostly has some graphic and level changes from the original. Majority of the zones were pretty much changed and had new modified graphics. There aren't really any other changes. They are pretty simple changes, but despite that, this Sonic hack does give you a pretty different experience than original. Now, as for the name of this Sonic hack, "Sonic Uno", I really have no idea how the hack and modified stuff even relates to the title, but ehh, the same with all other Sonic hacks, or at least most of them. Their title doesn't really relate to the hack itself, but it's interesting. As you all probably know, "Uno" means "One". Though, I never seen any indirect hints relating to "Uno" in this Sonic hack. I thought it was some Sonic hack where it literally is some type of card game with Sonic in it, but I was wrong though. Anyways, so, I introduced you to this Sonic hack, let's go ahead and dive in deeper to the game!

Gameplay: 9

Well, it is pretty similar to the original Sonic 1 gameplay, though, there are some notable changes. Firstly, the physics. It may seem mostly similar to the original Sonic the hedgehog 1 when you were to try it out at first, but when you start running down a hill or in some steep areas, then you will notice a bit of a difference. In Sonic the Hedgehog 1, as some of you who played Sonic games may already know, running down a hill without rolling, will just result you in running at a normal and... Read the rest of this Review

A Beta Version Enhanced
Well, hey guys. So, I guess I'm gonna go ahead and continue on with my Sonic hacks marathon review for this month before I start making non-sonic reviews next month. So, anyways, let us jump to the review!

Intro: Delta? An Enhanced beta?

Well, as some of you who read my reviews before may already know, I like to start them out with the first possible questions that may come up to mind the first time you see a game. So, the first question that came up to my mind before I tried this Sonic hack for the first time was "Delta?". From what I know, "Delta" is the number 4 in Greek terms and/or a mathematical variable, but, I'm certainly no genius here so I don't really know much. Now, to be honest, I don't really know how/why this sonic hack was named, "Sonic 2 Delta", but it certainly caught my attention the first time I found this game like a week ago. I have always been planning to review it.

So, to explain what this Sonic hack is, I'm guessing it is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 featuring lots of characteristics and stuff from the beta version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. I think this is somewhat based off the Simon Wai prototype of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or even the nick arcade prototype or probably some of both, however, there were a few fixes and enhancement to make this game more playable. The Nick arcade prototype was really known to be very glitchy and have only one complete and working zone, which is emerald zone. It also had lots of Sonic 1 stuff left over in it. The Simon Wai prototype was less glitchy and had more of the "Sonic 2 stuff" and some left over "Sonic 1 stuff", however, I always found the nick arcade prototype to be the most interesting. There were also incomplete levels that were removed in the later versions of Sonic the hedgehog 2. (Like hidden palace zone). This Sonic hack has some of those zones but they are somewhat glitchy. Yea, so, I have introduced you to the beta versions and this sonic hac... Read the rest of this Review

Please, just please.... No
So, I kind of noticed that a few users seem to like it when I make pirated game reviews and homebrews reviews and various Sonic hack reviews for the sega genesis too. So, I thought, why not make both reviews everyday? So, I'm basically gonna (try to) keep doing this everyday until the end of this month, then, if/when I get the staff role, I'll start on non-sonic reviews. Anyways, let's dive in to this pirated review!

Intro: *tries not to throw up* *fails*

Well, so, there was once some random and unofficial pirated games being made. Some Sonic games for nintendo systems and even mario games for sega genesis system. And thus later on... Comes Somari. A Sonic game with Mario as the main hero for an nintendo NES system. This was really known to be a very dreadful game. And, as most of us probably (or possibly) already know, Sega =/= Nintendo and vice versa. Well, I'm assuming this pirated game attempted to prove that statement wrong. But..... They somewhat kind of failed at it. I'm gonna try not to rant too much in this review. Anyways, let's find out more about the pirated game!

Gameplay: 5 Ahh... the conTROLLS & physics

Here is the real significant part about Sonic games. Sadly, they pretty much messed it up. Firstly, what messed up the gameplay was the horrible physics. When you try to run and jump, you some times barely move, some times move at a decent speed, or some times just move uncontrollably fast. Mario himself is hard to control. The game seems to think that Mario is moving fast when he is barely even moving. Some times even the opposite. Sometimes, when Mario jumps, he jumps up fast then falls down slow, some times he jumps up slow but falls down fast. It's randomly insane and unpredictable. Though, Mario can actually do the spin dash, but some times, he barely even moves fast with the spin dash and sometimes just blasts off like a rocket and you can't even control him for a few seconds. And by the time you rega... Read the rest of this Review

A Pretty Amazing Hack!
Well, hey guys. So today, I'm gonna (try to) continue on with my Sonic reviews marathon for this month since I will start making lots of Non-Sonic reviews next month. Anyways, so I found this Sonic 2 hack that isn't very popular, however, it is a pretty amazing hack in my opinion after I played it and you guys should try it out. Let's go ahead and dive in to the review!

Intro:

So, to basically explain this hack, it's a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 featuring tons of new things (mostly with the gameplay) and some amazing changes that makes this game simply more fun. There were no graphic or sound changes from the original, however, there were changes with the gameplay and new options and stuff to do. It's almost more of a smarter and a newer version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Anyways, let's dive in deeper to find out why this was an amazing hack.

Gameplay: 9.5

I must say that the gameplay was nearly flawless and amazing. Let me explain why, firstly, you can play as Sonic & Tails (like original), Sonic alone, Tails alone, Knuckles & Tails, Knuckles alone, Amy & Tails, and Amy alone. Now, let me basically explain the gameplay for each and every character so you can have more of an idea for what I mean.

Sonic:

So, first thing is first, he is the character with the most new and amazing special abilities that are definitely unoriginal. Sonic does have his same jump height and about the same speed as original. He also has the original spin dash move (by simply holding the down button and tapping the jump button). Now, all of these are pretty much "original", right? But, there are some things here that wasn't original. Firstly, when you start the game, when you press A or B to jump, Sonic actually won't jump. Weird, right? However, Sonic will jump when you press C. Also, if you press C twice, he will double jump! Not only that, it's also a homing attack. When you do it near a monitor of a badnik, you will ... Read the rest of this Review

A Bit Similar To Another Pirated.... ugh...
Well, hey guys, so I decided that I wanted to go ahead and review another horrible pirated game. So, I found another horrible pirated Sonic game that I played a while ago. Interestingly, it is very similar to another pirated game that I have played before, but I though, why not review it? Anyways, lets get started!

Intro:

So, this is basically a Sonic game for the nintendo NES. It is indeed a pirated original. I'm not sure but I'm guessing whoever made this really wants to attempt to blow other's mind by attempting to make Sonic games for a nintendo system. There were even pirated mario games for Sega systems. A funny thing is that they are all.... Pretty terrible to be honest. Another funny thing is that it is similar to Sonic 3D blast 5, but with a new title screen. Anyways, let's go ahead and dive in deeper to the review!

Gameplay: 5

*throws up* Sorry about that. Anyways, It's dreadful as you can guess. Want to know why? It is simply because of the physics. The physics are really messed up and off. Sonic runs at a 100% slow and constant speed as if he is mario, but when he jumps, the gravity is crazy. He sometimes jumps up and down extremely fast, sometimes even fall down a bit slow but barely moving. Sometimes, Sonic just moves uncontrollably fast at a ground that is barely even steep and he sometimes doesn't move at all, it even happens in mid-air. Just makes the gameplay unenjoyable and possibly even unplayable due to the horrible physics. As for everything else, Sonic doesn't really have any special moves other than jumping, just like the original Sonic 1 for the sega genesis. Thats about it for the gameplay.

Graphics: 4

UGHH... It's also pretty bad to be honest. Just look at the title screen, for example. The colors are really off and not how it's supposed to be. The sprites and stuff also flickers at times while the colors are barely fuzzy solid colors that are somewhat mixed colors and just a mess. It's... Read the rest of this Review

Beta Version = Insane but More Fun?
Well, hey guys. So, originally, I wasn't planning to review this game since it is just a beta version of another game I reviewed before, but when I decided to try out this game a bit since I was bored.... I was very surprised, not what I expected at all. It's pretty different from the non-beta version for gameplay. So, I decided I'd go ahead and review it because I want to talk about what I found which made this game, "Insane but More fun". Anyways, let us go ahead and (try to) jump into the review of this game.

Intro: Insane but More Fun? How?

To be honest, the one and only thing that made this game a bit more fun but yet insane than original is simply the gameplay, however, the gameplay is indeed a significant thing about Sonic games so that WILL make a big difference. Other than that, to explain the game, it is simply a Sonic 2 hack that replaces all the Sonic the hedgehog sprites with Metal Sonic sprites and allows you to play as Metal Sonic with one of his cool special abilities. About nearly everything is original but the gameplay was a bit modified in an insanely awesome way, which I will explain in the gameplay portion in my review. If you like Sonic the hedgehog 2 and Metal Sonic, then you'll love this game! Now, let us dive in deeper to the review!

Gameplay: An Insane 9!

Alright, so you guys have been waiting for the insane part about this game. So, the real insane thing is pretty much only 3 things. The first thing is the jump height of Metal Sonic and the gravity of his jump. When you just jump in the air at the max height, you will be like, "What the heck? Cool. Didn't expect something like that. Feels a bit.... Abnormal." Alright, to explain it if you haven't figured out already, his jump height is insanely a bit higher than Sonic's original jump height. Now, the real insane thing is that Metal Sonic seems to stay at his max jump height a bit higher than normal in mid-air. As in, if you jump, you'll stay high i... Read the rest of this Review

Not as Bad as I Thought?
Well, hey guys, so I decided to go ahead and try making 2 reviews today. So, I wanted to go ahead and make a review about another Sonic game for a different system instead of the Sega genesis. So, I actually found this. Which is "Sonic 3D Blast 5". I have no idea how the title even makes sense with the game sense it is not 3D at all but ehh.. What even caught my attention more is that it's for the Nintendo NES!!!! What the?!! No kidding. Also, one more thing I want to say, this review may be abnormally shorter than my other reviews since this game doesn't have much things to talk about and it's a pirated game. Anyways, let's start on the review!

Intro: What? What? A Sonic game for the NES? Not as bad as you thought? Are you insane man?

Okay, let me explain. Chill. So, I agree. A sonic game for an NES is crazy and unbelievable. To explain it, it's simply an original pirated game. I find it somewhat very interesting and cool to see a pirated game specifically for the NES and it's a Sonic game to. And, you guys do know that Sega =/= Nintendo. As in, it won't make sense to see a Sonic game for a nintendo system or a Mario game for a sega system. Right? Well, apparently, those pirated games try to prove that it is possible to make Sega = Nintendo. As in play Sonic games in nintendo systems like this pirated game or Mario games in Sega system. Doesn't make sense, but still cool and interesting, right? Those pirated games were usually known to be dreadful most of the time. But strangely, this game wasn't half bad. Well, for a pirated game, that is. I thought this game was horrible when I look at the screenshots but when I tried it out, not THAT bad. Anyways, let us go ahead and dive in deeper to the review!

Gameplay: 5

Not that horrible, ok, it is pretty bad but not as bad as I thought it would be. Well, why is it bad? Because there is one thing that is very significant about the gameplay for Sonic games that is bad. For this one, the ph... Read the rest of this Review

A Good Hack with Minor Changes
Alright, hey guys. So, it looks like I am back with more reviews for Sonic 2 hacks. This time, we may start entering some Sonic 2 hacks that doesn't have that much modifications or changes from the original game, however, it's still something of decent quality to review, basically like this sonic 2 hack that I'm about to review now. Anyways, let's get started right onto the review!

Intro:

So, to basically explain this Sonic 2 hack, as you can probably guess, it allows you to play as metal Sonic in all of the original Sonic 2 zones. Sadly, there isn't really anything that interesting here, but, a decent hack doesn't always need to have something very interesting. If you are one of those people who likes metal Sonic, then I'm pretty sure you'll like this game since it allows you to play as metal Sonic. If you also like playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and other classic Sonic games, then you'll probably like this Sonic hack. There isn't really anything that is really unique about this Sonic 2 hack since I have seen a bunch of other Sonic hacks with similar abilities, features... etc. Anyways, lets dive in more to the review.

Gameplay: 9

Well, pretty decent gameplay. There is actually 2 gameplay modes for this Sonic 2 hack that you can choose in the options menu under "controls". There isn't really a lot of differences or special things about those 2 modes but I think they are still pretty cool. Especially since you are enabled to choose between both modes. So, I'll go ahead and compare them.

Normal/Original mode:

Ok, so this is really self-explanatory. Basically in this gameplay mode, it is exactly the same like the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The physics are not modified, has the same jump-height and speed like original, and the original spin-dash (by holding down while on the ground tapping the jump key). There is no other special abilities and no unoriginal thing in this mode. So, basically, if you want to p... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic 2 Dimps Edition

Dumbed Down a bit = Fun!
Well, hey guys. So I'm now back with another review. (To continue on with the Sonic marathon review for this month). So, now, we are gonna go more into some sonic hacks that were mostly modified to be more "fun", perhaps. So, "Sonic 2 Dimps Edition" was pretty much the first game I noticed that was mostly modified to be more fun than original, but also much easier than original. Now, let us go ahead and dive right to the review!

Intro: Dumbed Down? Dimps Edition?

So, out of all the things I can come up with for an interesting question about this Sonic hack, there were actually 2 questions that may come up in mind. Well, the first one is probably something related to the title of my review. How is this Sonic 2 hack, "Dumbed down a bit"? Well, to answer that question, there were several modifications from the original Sonic 2 game which basically made the gameplay a lot easier than normal, however, I must say, it also made things more fun. Also, those modifications made this Sonic 2 hack similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 4's gameplay, a somewhat modern Sonic game, in many ways, which I will explain shortly for the gameplay section of my review. So, to basically sum that up, it's "Dumbed down a bit" since the gameplay was modified and made a bit more easier than original, and it "= Fun!" because the gameplay was also made to be a bit more fun than hard. Now, as for the second question, Which is, "Dimps Edition?" I honestly have NO idea how/what that title actually came from. Sorry to burst your bubbles (if I did). Though, I must say, one of the main reason this game caught my attention to play it and review it is because the title of this game is definitely interesting. I'm not really sure if the "Dimps Edition" thing in that title of this game actually has something to do with the developer of the game or if it actually has something related to it. So, I'd rather not say anything false, but still, interesting title for a Sonic hack indeed! Now, let us di... Read the rest of this Review

An Awesome & Blended Game
Well, hey guys, so, I decided to move on with more somewhat interesting and cool Sonic 2 hacks. Similar to my previous review for "Sonic 1 and 2", this one is also somewhat blended with 2 original and awesome games, which is Sonic the hedgehog 2 and 3, however, it is blended differently from the previous game I reviewed, which I will explain shortly. Well, I hope this review turns out well and let's go ahead and get started on this review!

Intro: An Awesome & Blended Game?

Well, I thought it would actually be best to start out with explaining what I meant in the title of this review. So, from the title of the game, "Sonic 2- S3 Edition", some or maybe even most of you can guess virtually most things about what this Sonic 2 hack is. Anyways, to explain it, the original game, "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" got modified and some cool features from "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" has been imported right into this game and it was blended in really smoothly, along with other modifications and unoriginal but awesome additions. In fact, I was very impressed when I tried out this hack, which really made me want to review it after a while. To basically explain how the "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" features were smoothly blended in with Sonic 2 in this hack, there is a slightly modified title screen to feel a bit more like Sonic 3's title screen, you can play as knuckles with all of his awesome abilities, the Sonic 3 save data select screen was implemented perfectly in this hack, the Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles sprites are all from Sonic the hedgehog 3, Tails has the ability to fly, but, sadly, he can not carry Sonic (I don't know why, it just won't work), some zones (I think only emerald zone and chemical plant zone) has a mini-boss after you finish the first act, plus, it plays the Sonic 3 & knuckles mini-boss soundtrack, some zones has an alternate and modified soundtrack in the 2nd act (very awesome), all monitors from Sonic 3 and Sonic's double attack ability ... Sonic 2 XL

Overweight = A real problem
Well, hey guys, so, I guess I'll (try to) continue on with my Sonic hacks marathon reviews for this month. So, now, we will start entering into some Sonic 2 hacks. Alright, So I'm gonna go ahead and review sonic 2 XL, a sonic hack that I have played before and enjoyed. This game, of course, caught my attention the first time I saw it because of the "XL" part in the title of this Sonic 2 hack and the obese looking classic Sonic in the screenshots which definitely forced me to try this out. XD I hope this review turns out somewhat interesting. Let's get started on the review!

Intro: Uhh... XL? You mean X-large? What does that mean for a Sonic hack?

Well, of course, that is probably one of the very first few things that may come up to mind when you try out this Sonic 2 hack for the first time. You will wonder and think a lot about the "XL" part in the title screen until you try out this Sonic 2 hack. That is what pretty much happened to me before and later on, I thought that I should actually go ahead and (attempt to) review it. Now, to answer that question, you guys may think that everything may be quite large somehow from the "XL" in the title of this Sonic 2 hack. If not, then you know that there must be something a bit larger than normal since there must be something related to that "XL" in the title of this hack. Well, if you simply have a look at the screenshots and/or just play this Sonic 2 hack for a while, then you will easily figure out the true answer. And, that true answer is.... Fat. Obesity. Well, that does relate even more to "XL", doesn't it now? Honestly, the last thing I would expect to see in a sonic hack is Sonic being obese. Now, let us find out more about this hack.

Gameplay: A big and fat 9

Now, I'm going to explain what the real change is for this Sonic 2 hack. So, now, let us start the game! You notice that Sonic and Tails are standing and prepared for adventure. Everything around you looks very normal and So... Read the rest of this Review
