My Little Pony - Crystal Princess - The Runaway Rainbow Also, rainbows now have 4 colors.
My Little Pony - Crystal Princess - The Runaway Rainbow If you make someone play this game and then show them Friendship is Magic, 100% sure that one person will like FiM and thank Lauren Faust from saving this franchise from the deep abyss that is *BLERGG* I am so sorry this game has way too much pink.
Deep Pockets-Super Pro Pool and Billiards I have no idea how to play this game. Or any intellivision game, for that matter.

My Little Boredom
What else can be said about My Little Pony that hasn’t been thrown at you by the internet? Well, a ton of things, because MLP wasn’t always what it is now, and we’ll use this game as an example to how little girl+ money focused this older generation of ponies was.

I’d like to point out that I am aware that this game is way off my demographic, but believe me when I say you have no power here. It’s my review. Another point that is probably important is that I did not finish this game, but I do not believe that seeing the ending would change the way I look at things in. With that in mind, let’s begin.

The graphics aren’t great. They were too pixelated, I have seen better in the GBA, and the game is from 2006, so by then they should have figured out how to make games look decent on the console. But I believe that Hasbro told THQ to just finish this game ASAP and that it was a no brainer here’s a million dollars.

The sound was probably the best thing about this game. It only gets a 5 because it wasn’t anything special, it just worked. One thing that I found to be weird was the girl laugh that would pop up whenever the game felt like it. It was so out of place that when it popped up for the first time I was scared.

Oh, the addictiveness was off the charts! - said no one ever. I played this game for 20 long minutes and I got this weird tingling on my back, which would travel up to my throat and before I knew it I was hanging myself.

Couldn’t they have figure out a better way to make a game? Why in the world would you make a game where the main character is the slowest ass (as in donkey) I have ever seen in my life, and the main purpose of it is to go around in this PowerPoint of an overworld collecting random things for no reason? And I’d like to add a thing or two to that: in the beginning of the game, it is stated that Rarity (which is kind of an iron... Read the rest of this Review
GoldenEye 007

GoldenEye 007...more like rusty eye
This game was one of most popular games on the N64. The fact that you could play as James Bond and go around doing secret missions (but I would say “go around shooting people up” because that’s basically what it is) was a pretty big deal back in the day. Nowadays, that’s pretty lame because every other game lets you shoot stuff someway.  Sure, not every other game contains James Bond. But can you say “I’m Bond, James Bond” to anyone in this game? No? Then being James Bond or Jack McOrdinary Guy has pretty much the same impact. But that’s for today, though, so I’ll try to look at it with a more 1997 perspective.

The graphics are not too bad; they remind me of PS1 graphics. Most of the time everything is smooth except when aiming with the sniper rifle, for some reason everything gets a bit choppy.

The sound effects are the same throughout the game, and the “missed bullet” sound effect gives you that feeling that “Yes, this game is old.” The music as that whole covert ops style, but if you start backtracking like I did (right in the 1st level, because I didn’t read the mission) you are going to notice that the music is kind of annoying. The solution to this is to not backtrack.

In the past, kids, and I guess other people too, would be like “Holy s[ugar] I’mma play this game my whole life” because not only shooting games are fun, you can try to beat  all levels in all difficulties, and there is always the multiplayer mode, with all the multiplayer game modes you’d expect (no co-op though). But now you notice the game is kind of dull, not really worth the replay because you already how it will all go. It’s like telling you the same joke over and over; it’s not fun anymore.

It wouldn’t be called Story Mode if it didn’t have story in it, am I right? I don’t remember the movie so I’m not... Read the rest of this Review
Elite Soccer

Elite Soccer? More like elite sucker
This game is about soccer. But not any kind of soccer: Elite Soccer. Or at least, that's what they wanted it to be. You play as a soccer team (you don't say) from the 20 available. It really doesn't matter which is chosen, since the players are mostly equal in stats (the stats don't matter unless they are very high or very low; equality can be changed in the options) and the color won't change at all. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposite team, like any other soccer game. But doing so is only possible if the goalkeeper difficulty is set to low, or else it will gain super powers.

Graphics are weird, to say the least. The characters flash from time to time and the ball physics are very realistic, the same goes for the goalkeeper that can grab the ball from the other corner of the goal without moving, because teleportation.

The sound, besides the menu theme which is not that bad, is basically white noise. White noise for the cheering, white noise for the kicking. Audibly, this game is racist.

This game is hardly addictive, unless you like the frustration it brings for not knowing what you are doing, or just want to score some goals. After that, there's pretty much nothing else to be done.

The time it takes to beat depends entirely on what you choose to do and the time options. You can play a single match against the GB, just some penalties, or play a league of any size. With the exception of the penalties, everything else is the same thing: a soccer game.

One itty bitty LARGE problem with this game is that it never gives you instructions. Like, never. You have to guess which of the buttons does what. Then, the game selects which of the players you are going to play as, and it's very annoying because it can change right when you are running to the ball. Passing the ball is also difficult because it's mostly random. Free kicks are only applied when someone tries to make you fall from behind (the sa... Read the rest of this Review
Super Mario Land

Super Mario Land Review
Everybody knows about super Mario.  This game is one of the first, and it pretty much sums up every other super Mario game that came next.

The graphics are pretty much what you would expect from a game boy game, but sometimes weird stuff happens in the border of the game, like the images get stuck (could be a problem related to the emulator). That kind of stuff doesn't exactly disturb the game play.

The music is probably one of the things you will remember from this game. The other sounds are great, too, since they don't screech on your ears every time you catch a coin.

The game is pretty addictive, but sometimes it can get frustrating thanks to some horrible fails (like falling down from a platform). Also, it's great to try to get a better high score each time, unless you hit the 999,999 limit, somehow.

There's not much story here: You start the game and you are immediately thrown into the first level. No intro whatsoever. Only after the first boss you understand the meaning of your adventure: save the princess (although if you were already familiar with Mario, you would know that already).

The game is small compared to the following games, but it contains some variety. It consists of 4 worlds and 3 levels per world, making it 12 levels total. Each world has a different theme that I will not mention here, even though I don't consider it a spoiler.

The game is easy, but not too easy! The controls are simple and easy to learn, but some unexpected things might happen. For example, sometimes it seems Mario refuses to jump, which is very annoying.

Overall, it's a pretty good game that everyone should try out if they are real gamers! (just kidding).
