Chrono Trigger - Prophet's Guile
10-27-14 09:26 AM
Chrono Trigger--Prophet's Guile
Chrono Trigger--Prophet's Guile, created by the same team who made the Chrono Trigger--Crimson Echoes hack, is a short hack of the classic Chrono Trigger for the SNES. In the game, you play as Magus and follow his story when he returns to his own time of 12,000 BC. Overall, the game is not too bad, but is not too good either. Perhaps that is because of the game's length. It took me approximately two hours to complete overall. Anyways, let's break this hack down.

Graphics: Overall, they are just the same as Chrono Trigger's graphics. Nothing changed, nothing enhanced. At least, not that I noticed. However, considering these events take place at the same time as the regular game's events, it would make sense not to change the graphics. So, overall all Im going to give the graphics a 7.

Sound: The developers of this hack enhanced and remixed the sound so that it sounds beautiful and amazing. There were some places in the hack where I would just stand there for a second just to listen to the music. The way the creators remixed the music makes it seem like the songs were supposed to be in Chrono Trigger all along. The music in this hack really helps the atmosphere of the hack, and emphasizes what is occurring at the time. Overall, the music deserves a solid 9.

Addictiveness: The game, at first, is very addictive. When I was playing it, I barely wanted to stop playing. If for anything, just to see what would happen next. In fact, the only time I put it down was during the final dungeon because a few of the enemies just annoyed me because they stole all of Magus' MP with one move. After that, I just blinked, stopped for a second, then put the game down for a few hours. Anyways, Im not quite sure if I would want to play this hack again. I mean, if anything it would be to try to find the three obuli which are hidden in the game. Otherwise, I feel as if the game would get very boring very quickly. Overall addictiveness, 6.

Pokemon Waterfall Review
Hey guys welcome to Angelbear's Pokemon Waterfall review! Lets get started shall we?

Pokemon Waterfall is a hack created by BlackCharizard and is a hack of Pokemon Fire Red. While there are a lot of aspects in the game that make it interesting there is a major glitch in the third gym which basically ends the game right at the third gym. So in a way you can say that this hack only goes up to the third gym.

Graphics: The graphics are very unique to this hack. In fact I don't think I have ever seen these graphics in any other Pokemon Hack. They look fresh clean and make you feel like you're playing a new game all together. However, for some reason once you get to a certain point the graphics change to second generation graphics which does not make sense at all. In my opinion if you're going to start with one type of graphic then you should stay with that type of graphic. The only exception is if you have time travel but in this instance there is no hints of time travelling that I can see. Either way the graphics are decent. 8/10

Sound: The creator either didn't know how to edit the music in this hack or just didn't feel like editing at all. As such the game plays the usual Firered/Leafgreen soundtrack. Of course its okay but figuring that almost all hacks recycle the music from their original games and there are some places in the hack where there's no music at all well it doesn't really help the game at all! 5/10

Addictiveness: Okay I will give the game credit where credit is due, the game is somewhat addictive. Whether its from the new graphics or the new layouts you will not want to stop playing even though you are forced to. The game is addictive that when I was playing through and found the glitch I'm just stared at my computer for a second and then I had to walk away. 8/10

Story: The story is okay but there is definitely room for improvements! The story itself feels like the creator really rushed through. They had a ba... Read the rest of this Review
Pokemon Ruby Destiny - Life of Guardians

Pokemon RD: LoG Review
Hey guys welcome to my first ever review! Since this is my first review I would greatly appreciate it if you would leave as much commentary/advice as possible so I can make these better in the future! Anyways, enough small talk, let's get this review started shall we?

Pokemon Ruby Destiny: Life of Guardians, or Pokemon RD: LoG for short, is the third installment in the Ruby Destiny Series created by DestinedJagold. As such Life of Guardians is one of the best games Jagold has worked on to date.

Graphics 7:The graphics in the game are very well thought out and polished in some parts but in other parts this is not the case. In some parts of the game the graphics stick out or have a whole new style that's different from the usual. Of course this is just looking at the negatives. Most of the graphics gives a new game feeling where you're not playing a generic Pokemon game but a whole new game instead. All in all they're better than other games I've played but they could use a little work. 7/10

Sound 8:The music in the game in well made (for the most part) and well timed. There are a few tracks (One in particular usually when Team Darkness attacks if I remember correctly) that sounds very high pitch. Otherwise there are various other tracks that help boast the story as well as the atmosphere and the mood of the game. Believe it or not music does play in a huge role in a game, in this hack the soundtrack is brilliantly selected and even includes tracks from various other games including The Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts. 8/10

Addictiveness 10:Life of Guardians will leave you wanting more. Whether its from its intense story to finding all the new fakemon added you will be wanting more after this game. If its not the amazing storyline with multiple cliff hangers at different parts its the difficulty that will leave you asking for more. (See storyline and difficulty for more information)

Story 10:The storyline in t... Read the rest of this Review
