Sonic Colors

Let's reach for the stars in this Sonic masterpiece!
Alright, my first review in 4 years! I've recently been posting more on Vizzed and have been much more active. Now that I'm back I think it's a good of a time as any to review one my favorite games off all time. Let's get into it.

I remember when Sonic Colors first came out all the way back in 2010. I was 11. It killed me that I didn't have a Wii (Didn't get one until I believe I was 12 or 13) and that I couldn't play it. The trailers and everything looked so good! I had such good times with the likes of Sonic Heores, which was my first Sonic game, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Sonic Advance, Sonic 1, 2, and 3 and Knuckles (hah) that I played on the PS2 and Gamecube with the help of the Sonic Mega Collection. The boost gameplay in Sonic unleashed looked so cool on the PS3 (but I didn't have one at the time) and the PS2 version of that game left me dissapointed. But here's a boost game that has no Werehog! Man, did I ever want to play it.

The day I did though, instant love for it. I've probably beaten this game over 40 times. On my first original file, I had over 50 hours of clocked in. That's how much I replayed the levels and tried to get that blasted Super Sonic (I was going to make a Shadow joke but don't worry about it). I know this game like the back of my hand (that phrase makes no sense. How do you KNOW your hand? It's a hand). I've got a good amount to say and I'm excited for this. This game really got Sonic back on his feet. Some may question Sonic after Sonic Forces, but with Sonic Mania Adventures, Sonic Mania plus, Team Sonic Racing, (OH YES BABY! THANK YOU SEGA) and just the fact that Forces did sell really well, Sonic ain't going anywhere any time soon. There's also a DS version of this game, and while I have played and beaten it, I'm not going to talk about it since it's a great game in it's own right and deserves it's own review.

So Sonic Colors was released in 2010 on the Wii and DS, and recieved numerous positive review... Read the rest of this Review
Sonic the Hedgehog

Blast away at super sonic speed!
Alright FINALLY! I can finally edit this review so it doesn't suck (well not as much at least.) I wrote a review on this game quite a while ago, it was almost around a year ago, and well needless to say after I finished it I hated it. It was too long, too spammy, and it just wasn't fun to read. However I can finally fix that now that I finally have time, I doubt ANYBODY cares, but I do, as I want my reviews to be fun, informative, but serious enough so that people who have played the game can enjoy reading my opinion, as well as people who haven't played the game to play it/not playing it. Enough of this! Time to review Sonic the Hedgehog. So lets do a little backround check on this little blue rascal.

Sonic the Hedgehog, is a platformer (HERP DERP ya don't say?) that is much different from Mario. You see Mario's gameplay was more slow, linear, and well...slow. When Sonic came out he was an instant hit, he was blue, cool, fast, cool, had cool sneakers, cool, fast (you get the idea) so much so that Sonic became Mario's RIVAL. Yes you heard me right Sonic rivaled gaming's biggest icon....that's quite impressive Sega. Oh yeah Sega published the game and Sonic Team developed it. But I'm sure you've heard this all before everyone knows this story and if ya haven't its on the inerwebzz so check it out there (fun fact, Sonic Team/Sega actually had a very difficult time trying to find a good mascot to represent their game. They tried a fox, rabbit, pretty much all animals seeing which one would fit best. Heck Dr. Robotnik, the villain for this game was going to be the protagonist. He was going to be a kid in pajamas running around grassy hills I guess.) So without further ado, lets see what the blue blur's first game is like.

Graphics: 9/10 Yes everyone knows it, this game looks gorgeous! Sonic and friends (or enemies) animate very well and the locations themselves are varied and very well made. You've got six zones including Green Hill... Read the rest of this Review
Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones

Grado has attacked, prepare for war!!!
This was one of my first GBA games, and oh boy did I choose a good one to start out with. Well.. Not really start with, my first gba game
was actually Yoshi's Island, and as awesome as that game is, we are not talking about that today. It is Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones, so let us start with the history.

Developed by Intelligent Systems and Published by Nintendo and released in JP in October 7, 2004, in NA May 23, 2005, and in EU November 4, 2005. FE TSS (Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones, I will be calling it FE TSS from now on) is the second Fire Emblem game to be released outside of Japan. This is actually the eighth game is the series, but only the third in Japan, and the second to be released outside of Japan. ( Fun fact, in Japan this game is known as: Fire Emblem: Seima no Koseki , which stands for: Fire Emblem Shining Stones of Holiness and Evil.)  For those of you new to the series, FE TSS is a tactical RPG, and a dang good one at that. It got good reviews but was criticized for not really improving anything major over the last game.

But it is still loved by many and in my opinion one of the best Fire Emblems to date. This game also got a virtual console release in JP December 16, 2011, which is also the same date it was released on in NA, and EU, but AUS got it a day early on December 15, for some odd reason lol. To be honest guys, I don't like tactical RPGS, I found they were slow, boring, and just not fun. I have tried Final Fantasy Tactics, and many others, but with no luck. I love RPGS like the Persona series, Final Fantasy series, And Dragon Quest series. I LOVE RPGS, but not tactical RPGS.... EXCEPT THIS ONE! For some reason, I just cannot get enough of this game, and we are about to find out why. Enough with the history, lets get in to the game itself.

Graphics: You know what, this games graphics aren't amazing, even for a GBA, but you know what, they are good enough. The maps are really varied, and I neve... Read the rest of this Review

Travel to the end of time and back!!
This game is amazing, I've never played anything like it, from the awesome visuals to the amazing sound and music, this is a game that
every RPG fan needs to play. If you have never played an RPG, let this game introduce you to the genre, you will not be disappointed.

Graphics: 10. This games graphics are awesome, the detail put into the attacks, the magic, and how impressive the sprites are,
I wouldn't say it's the best looking game on the snes, but its up there in the top 5, heck, top 3. It's not even the graphics themselves, its the design and how smooth the animations look, I love how every character looks and moves, of course not EVERYTHING is super detailed and stuff, but for an snes game, trust me this game looks beautiful. Overall this games graphics gets a 10.

Sound: 10. The music is beautiful, emotional, and epic, you have everything from rock to orchestra. The world map music is one of my favorites, the battle music is perfect, and I never got sick of them lapping a few times, I never turned down my speaker or tried to turn off
the music from the settings, it is a joy to my ears. The sound effects well they are good, nothing really stuck out but they fit the game and when you swing your sword it makes that SHING sound or whatever lol but the sound effects sound realistic and they do the job and for me were never annoying. Overall the sound gets a another perfect 10.

Addictiveness: 10: This game is huge, secret areas, multiple endings, and so so much more. I still haven't beaten this game and I know after I do, I'm going to replay it for all the endings. The battle system is innovative and fun, grinding is a joy and not a chore, I honestly never was never bored when playing this game, and I wanted to keep going to going to see how the story evolves, and I still have yet to see how it ends, and I'm exited for that day to come. Overall, another perfect 10.
