Enchanted Arms

Enchanted Arms Review.
Description - Enchanted Arms is a single player science fiction role playing game (RPG) on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360. Published by From Software and Ubisoft and directed by Masato Miyazaki. Released in April 2007 for North America and March 2007 in Europe.

Story - The story gravitates around a great war that happened 1000 years ago. This great war known as the "Golem War" devastated the entire world, leaving it in ruin. The golems (Artificial humanoid beings) who were originally designed to carry out commands given to them, continued the war for many years, until they eventually stopped working. Since then, the world has rebuilt over time, and the reasons for the war seem to have been forgotten. But there are still those out there, who wish to discover the secrets behind the golems and the powerful magic that have been lost with the passing of time. You play as Atsuma, a young student at the "Enchant University" who is studying a type of magic known as "Enchanting".

As the story begins to unravel, you playing as Atsuma and the friends he encounters along the way. Will need to use the abilities you have acquired to save the world, and in doing so prevent another great war. The story offers many interesting features, in "Quest Mode" you take control of Atsuma, this allows you to explore a variety of locations. There are a lot of people you can talk to within the story, and plenty of items to uncover, so there is always something to do within the story. As you continue through the story, you will even gain the opportunity to visit a casino, and play a selection of games that can hand out some great prizes that can be of great help to you going through the game. I found the story very enjoyable, with some informative conversation and exciting cut scenes.

Combat - The combat in Enchanted Arms is very tactical. While exploring areas within the game battles will be generated at random, I enjoy this, as it tends to keep me on top of m... Read the rest of this Review
Xenoblade Chronicles

Xenoblade Chronicles Review.
Description - Xenoblade Chronicles is a single player action role playing game on the Wii, developed by Monolith Soft, published by Nintendo and directed by Tetsuya Takahashi. The game had dotted release dates, in Japan it was out in 2010 later hitting the UK shops in 2011 and North America in 2012.

Story - In the start, the world was originally a vast ocean. This was until two mighty beings known as "Bionis" and the "Mechonis" came to be. These two titans fought an epic battle, until one final attack caused only their lifeless bodies to remain, forever frozen in combat forever. Many eons later, civilizations founded by the different races of Bionis, the humanoid Homs and the Nopon. They were attacked by the Mechon, a legion of machines from Mechonis. Playing the role of Shulk, you take up the mighty "Monado" the only weapon that can break through the Mechon armor. Together with a variety of friends, you strive to take down the Mechon, and bring peace to Bionis.

I found the story to be really interesting, it starts you off with some nice action moments, and this was appealing to me, pulling me in to the game before I even took control. When you do finally take control, you are immediately thrown in to combat, I personally love when a game does this, as it makes me learn faster which helps when playing through the story. After a brief combat tutorial, you find yourself one year later, it is here you play as Shulk, and once again combat begins almost instantly. With a variety of different things to take on within the story, you wont be let down for conversation. As I got deeper in to the game, I found the story to grow more interesting as it went on, bringing to light some unanswered questions I had been asking myself while playing. With what seems like an almost endless amount of possibilities with the story, I rarely found myself without some form of conversation to take part in. The story as a whole had a nice mix of emotions that characters dis... Read the rest of this Review
Vagrant Story

Vagrant Story Review.
Description - Vagrant Story is a single player role playing game (RPG) on the PlayStation, developed by Square product development division 4 and published by Square. Released in the year 2000, Vagrant Story has also been re-released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles, and can be purchased via the PlayStation Store.

Story - The game takes place in the kingdom of Valendia and the city of Lea' Monde, you play as the young Ashley Riot, an agent known as a "Riskbreaker". You must travel to Lea' Monde and investigate a link to a cult leader and a senior Valendian Parliament member, Called Duke Bardorba. As you will see in the prologue, you will be blamed for the death of Duke Bardorba, and you will then see the events one week prior to the murder.

To avoid spoiling any of the story, I won't go to deep in to it. For its time Vagrant Story is in a league of its own as a console action adventure RPG style game, it is unique in the fact that it offers no interaction with other characters, and there are no shops within the game story that you can visit. Instead, the game focuses more on weapon modification and creation. The story also offers puzzle solving opportunity's, and some interesting dialogue. Though some people may find the lack of character interaction within the story rather dull, it doesn't take away anything from the game in my opinion. For anyone willing to take the time to read through the huge amount of text within the game as the story progresses, which I am sure many people are accustomed to already, with some other earlier RPG style titles. You should find yourself enjoying the experience as a whole.

Combat - The combat was rather interesting for an early title, upon pressing the O button a cage will surround your character. While in an enemy encounter, any part of the opponent within this sphere can be targeted, allowing you to take down individual body parts to best suit your met... Read the rest of this Review
Nier

Nier Review
Description - Nier is an single player role playing game (RPG) on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox360, developed by Cavia and published by Square Enix. Released in April 2010 and directed by Yoko Taro. In Japan Nier Gestalt was an Xbox360 exclusive, later being released on the PlayStation 3 under the name of Nier Replicant.

Story - You play as Nier, a titan of a man who is seeking a cure for his daughter Yonah's illness known as the "Black Scrawl". Teaming up with a magical book known as Grimoir Weiss, he travels with two other characters, Kaine and Emil. As he strives to discover a remedy and come to understand the dark creatures known as "Shades" that infest the land.

The story for Nier is stunning, giving you as the player an amazing amount of story line. With in depth interactions between characters, you can truly feel close to each character. For me personally the story had a great deal of appeal to it, drawing me in to conclude areas and see the outcome. The story also offers some comical moments between characters, along with some colorful choice in language. Which made me grow more attached to the story as it went on, as it made the story feel more personal. Parts of the story can feel drawn out in places, but this mainly revolves around quests that you can take on from people within the game, these are optional so you have no obligation to do them, unless it is directly related to the main story. But even those have their charm, as some stories have a touching plot to them, which adds to the overall story. As you play through the game, and explore the story that unfolds and mysteries that can keep you guessing, even past the ending, are truly something special. And another refreshing part of the story, is that to have all of your questions answered, you will need to play the game 3 times. Thou to some this may seem tedious, I found this to be a rather nice aspect, as it means something new when you go back to play it again.

up arms and continue the fight for good. Together they set out, and
meet many new challenges along the way, they push forward with their
mission to save the world from the wrath of Grazel.

Story - Not unlike the first White Knight Chronicles game, WKC II follows the same story. What you must remember thou is that this is not a sequel, it is the second half to the story. Continuing from White Knight Chronicles, You begin your journey with a prologue set in Faria, where you witness the Farian general Scardigne. He is attempting to rescue Miu, princess of Faria and get her safely out of the city because of the civil war. With a little effort, they manage to escape the city in to the forest but are quickly followed. At this point the game cuts to a scene, where Princess Cisna has called for Leonard, Eldore and Yulie.

She explains to them that they must head for Faria, and speak to Father Yggdra. Upon hearing this, the groups sets off for faria, where they come across Scardigne and Miu in rather a tight spot. They drop down and rescue them from Ban Nanazels forces, they then learn that the Yshrenian Empire supported Ban Nanazel. Finding this out, Leonard and company travel to the city, where they must fight to bring piece back to Faria and rescue father Yg... Read the rest of this Review
