Monster Rancher
07-13-13 09:43 PM
Monster Rancher Review
Monster Rancher is a very fun game for the psx. You get to raise your own monster and even battle with other monsters! This game has a lot to offer and I hope you give it a try.

Graphics 9/ 10:
The graphics in this game are good for the psx. There weren't any glitches, but there was one messed up monser than I found  When you fight other minsters you are in an arena, but the people who are in the background don't look very good. This doesn't mess up the gameplay at all, but it just makes it a little less exciting. Some monsters had very similar sprites, but different colors. Lots of games do this so it isn't a huge problem. Over all the graphics were good. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Sound 9/ 10:
I really liked the music in the game. It was very original and each song fit it's place in the game. It didn't have many different songs, but what it had was very creative.

Addictiveness 7/ 10:
This game was very addicting. The first time I played this game I played it for hours and I didn't even go to a different game. After a few weeks the addictiveness started to go away, but it's still fun to come back and play it often.

Story 7/ 10:
The story isn't very different from most other games. In the past there was a disaster and people prayed for help. God answered their calls and created monsters to help them. But the monsters actually caused trouble so god sealed them into disk stones. Years later the monsters were taken from the disk stones and used to fight each other. Now you want to become the champion monster breeder. You do this by competing in official tournaments and if you win the S rank tournament you become the champion monster breeder. With the help of Holly and your monsters you can easily accomplish your goal!
I give it a 7 out of 10 because it's not very different from other games.

Depth 9/ 10:
This game has a lot to offer. There are over 150 monsters to collect and lots of thin... Read the rest of this Review

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped Review
Overall 10/ 10:
Crash Bandicoot is a great game series and I suggest you try it. This game has a lot of different levels to enjoy and lots of different things to collect. I hope you enjoy this review and more importantly the game.

Graphics 10/ 10:
The graphics were good in this game. I've played a lot of play station games and a lot of the graphics in others were very choppy and unclear. In this game you can clearly see everything and actually tell what it is. Even when you die you get a funny animation. I loved when you attack some enemies then go flying into the air. All of this really adds to the overall greatness of this game. I give the graphics a 10 out of 10.

Sound 10/ 10:
I liked the sound in this game. It was above play station standards. Everything you did in this game had a sound effect in it. Things like running, collecting items, and entering levels. The sound even made dying fun and enjoyable. I give the sound a 10 out of 10.

Addictiveness 10/ 10:
This is one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I remember every day as a kid playing this. I loved beating each of the levels over and over again. On rainy days I remember even playing this for the whole day and beating it too. I don't like to replay most games after I've beat them once. This game really stands out from the rest in addictiveness. This is an easy 10 out of 10 for me. You don't believe me? Play it and you'll find out!

Story 7/ 10:
The story is kind of bland. You need to stop Uka Uka and Doctor Neo Cortex from taking over the world. You need to go throughout time using the Time Twister Machine and collect all of the crystals before minions do. Once you finish the five regular levels in one area you take on the boss of the area. Do this for five areas then take on Cortex and Uka Uka!
I give this a 7/ 10 because most games are like this.

Depth 7/ 10:
This game has a good amount of depth. It has 30 ... Read the rest of this Review
4-TRIS (2000)

4-TRIS Review
Intro:
This game really stands out from the other Intellivision games. This game actually had it's own title screen and it had music in it. These two things alone make 4-TRIS one of the highest quality Intellivision game. On to the review!

Graphics 9/ 10:
The graphics in this game really stand out from all of the other Intellivision games. What really caught my attention was the title screen. Barley any of the Intellivision games had it's own personalized title. They mostly just say the name of the game, developer, and year with a plain green background. This on the other hand had a black background and had the name of the game flashing in different colors. These aren't major differences, but it's better than the common background. This shows that the developers actually took their time while making this.

The only problem with the graphics is that it doesn't show the next tetris that will for. It has a spot that says next, but it doesn't actually show the next one. I'm not sure if this is just a problem with the emulator or not. If this problem wasn't there then I would of gave this a 10 out of 10.

Sound 9/ 10:
Again this game had it's own music to it. Other games don't have background music at all. They just make the sounds of you moving or shooting. The background music wasn't very fitting though. For the title theme and the battle theme I think thy should of used the main tetris theme not this other random music.

Addictiveness 7/ 10:
This part it kind of... debatable. Some people like tetris while others don't. I personally like tetris. I love finding new combinations and improving my score. If you don't like tetris at least this will give you an hour or two of play time.

Story N/A:
No story at all. I think a story might of messed this game up unless there was a "story mode" and an "endless mode". This game is still fine without one.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror Review
Swoop! Out of nowhere Kirby comes down in his warp star. He sucks up a Bomber. CRASH! Destroys everything on screen.
Overall 9.5/ 10: I absolutely loved this game ever since I was a kid. I loved transforming into different things.

Graphics 10/ 10: The graphics were great. The color balance was good and it didn't have any glitches. I also liked that you couldn't change your Kirby's color. Throughout the game there are hidden bonus items. If you collect the bonus items they go to your collection which can be found on the title screen. Some of the bonus items are spray cans and you can actually spray it on Kirby. This gives the player a lot more options. They even put sprites for each of Kirby's copies. I especially loved the Sword and Burning copy. They were hands down two of the best copies in the game.

Sound 10/ 10: The sound was pretty cool too. Almost each area had it's own music. I really liked the boss battle music. It really sucked me in. Once again, no lag or glitches. Just clear music all the way through. The sound was the same as the music. Almost each attack had its own sound. I give it a 10 since there was no area that I thought could improve.

Addictiveness 7/ 10: This game was addicting up until I beat it. I came back to play it often though. It must of been 2 or 3 years when it finally started to get boring for me. Most games I don't like to replay a lot after I beat them. What got me coming back often were the copy abilities. I loved finding them all and developing strategies to use. What made it even more addicting for me was that there was more than one attack for each copy.

Story 6/ 10: The story wasn't really stated in the game I believe. Here is the main concept. There is another place near dream land called the Mirror World. The entrance is a mirror and is above dream land. If you make a wish to the mirror it will come true. The wish comes true by the mirror reflecting the dream into the real world. The... Yu Yu Hakusho - Ghostfiles - Tournament Tactics Review
Intro:
Ahem. Where do I begin? This game is very fun all around. You'll mean fantastic friends, stubborn foes, and everything in between! I cannot possibly explain how great this game is in a single review. Play the game to get sucked into stunning graphics and a huge world.
Graphics:
The graphics were great for gba standards. You can look at other gba games and clearly see that they graphics are quality. In my opinion they are comparable to Pokémon Leaf Green/ Fire Red's graphics. Most other gba games are very choppy, lack detail, and in some cases slightly glitchy. This also has battle animations. For example if you use Yusuke's spirit Kick he will actually kick the enemy. If you use overdrive moves a picture will appear of that person using that move. In addition, if you use Yusuke's Signature move, the Spirit Gun, on overdrive it will show a picture of him using his Spirit Gun. Unquestionably these graphics can't be beat.
Sound 10/ 9:
The sound was amazing. I was amazed when I first played this and still am today whenever I hear it. It's so clear  and actually made me hum to it. It even makes noises when the players attack! The battles the graphics and sound really works together. Right when the player attacks the sound starts. Lots of other games do this, but not as well as this. I also like the combinations of sounds. Most of the music is just a mixture of simple beeps. Hearing the opening themes is the best part of playing. I can tell I'm going to start having another great time. The only reason it didn't get a 10 was because some of the battle music wasn't very catchy.
Addictiveness 10/ 10:
This game was very addictive. I remember I used to play it every day when I was a kid. I loved all of the different features and characters. Games based off of tv shows or movies generally aren't good in my opinion. This one was far superior to most others. I can guarantee that you'll come back to play this sometime after ... Aedis Eclipse Generation of Chaos Guide - Divine World 4
You'll need to do some serious preparations before starting the first level of the Mystic world. Make sure all of your captains are level 18 and partners are level 15 or above. This is Mugen's home world. You'll need to clear some stages to reach him though.

This map can be hard without preparing. To have an easy time winning you'll need to use an element changing item to change one of the altar's attributes to fire. You'll only be facing wyverns and they're weak to fire. You'll cut their health in half in an instant. If you're lucky some might take out other enemies or their entire bases.
The wyvern kings can be tought because they can attack in 360 degrees. Have your captain wait and have your units fight the king.
This level is pretty easy if you change the elements to fire.

This level is pretty simple. The map is small and there are only four enemies. We've faced ogres before so we know how strong they can be. Let them come to you an take them out one at a time. Ranged captains are best to use since your units can distract the ogre. Mugen can be challenging so make sure you run and send in another unit if they are low on health.
Once Mugen is defeated Rose will absorb Mugen and you'll have to kill her to finally defeat him.

This map is even simpler than the last one. Rose is the only enemy in your way. Send all of your troops and make camps next to Rose's base. Send them one at a time trying to pick away at her health. Use all of your abilities and items to guarantee your success.

After you kill her you've completed the divine world part of this game! There are two others parts left and reaing through this should help you beat the other two.

Aedis Eclipse Generation of Chaos Guide - Divine World 3
I suggest keeping roughly the same army as last round. Don't add the dragon riders because they'll become more powerful of they're partnered. When you enter you'll find the lower world heroes on the run. They'll be chased by Mugen's army again. Move all of them west trying to keep them in the same space. Gon can only move three spaces so he'll slow you down. Once they're in safety start moving all of your units down. If you make sure no units can get through to your HQ then you can send all of them to fight. Releasing or executing everyone might be best because you already have a strong army. Remember to keep an eye out for airports. If you have control of two bases with an airport your units can fly between them.
The enemy has three captains that can use cannons. If they use their ability on your base the you'll lose half if your units. Keep this in mind when sending units in groups.
The only challenging enemies are Natalie and Junka. Using time changing items can make a huge difference in the outcome.

This stage is just like the first stage in the surface world. There are 4 enemy armies and you need to eliminate them all. Make sure you're stocked with items and partners with all of your members. Terraforming and keeping type advantages are key. I like to take down the water area, then win, then either of the remaining two. Some enemies might be worth persuading, but you won't need more than 10 captains.
If you brought one of the cannon captains from last round you might want to bring them to lower the enemy's unit count. After this round you'll make your way to t h next world.
You can find an ally name Sicily in Bavalosk. She can be a valuable partner.

Aedis Eclipse Generation of Chaos Guide - Divine World Part 1
This is part 1 of the Divine World. There are 4 parts and I'm going to try and make a guide for each part.

Part 2: http://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=82560

Part 3:  http://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=84127
Part 4:  http://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=84128

When you start the divine world chapter a big cut scene will start. Basically it tells the story of the divine world. The angels assassinated the king of hell and now the hellians want revenge.

LonedanAfter the long cut scene you'll be on a menu where you can pick your captains. If it says "event" that captain is there because the story depends on them being there. You can't remove these captains. Make sure you pick all 6 captains, you'll need them.

Have all 3 of the non event characters head towards the star tower. If two or more stay on the same space they'll make a camp and they'll fight the enemy together.

Have the rest of your units terraform your HQ into dark. This makes it so dark units are stronger and light get weaker. After that end the turn. Next turn they should make it to the star tower. Go into the tower and click defend. This lets you pick which units will defend your space. Different spaces have different amounts you can hold. Star tower can hold 4 units.

Next turn have any of your troops explore the star village and an event will occur. You'll meet a new captain. Have him join because he's just as strong as the others.

After this it's your choice how you go about winning. You can either camp and let the enemies go to you or have your units go out and fight. The latter is more fun, but a little risky. If a captain dies you'll either get them back or they'll join the other army and you'll have to fight them then persuade them to join back. If they turn into the enemy's prisoner might get e... You get to pick which ones you use after you unlock them. You unlock characters by winning certain levels. You are in a tournament to beat the evil Toguro and his team. You can't let him win! You can also get different items to help you out on your journey.

After you follow Genkai's tutorial he puts you up against a Ram. Rams are the basic enemies in this game. You will see them often in the hotel levels. Just take your time and Spirit Kick him until he falls. When you level up you get to upgrade your skills. Pick which ones you upgrade wisely. If you upgrade a certain skill enough you will learn more and more attacks. Check the Character guide part of this tutorial for more info and exactly which attacks you learn.
Offence increases your attack power of physical attacks.
Spirit Energy increases power of spirit attacks.
Movement upgrades increases how far you can move each turn.
