Inma's art looks nice, and...not much else. I won't review Sakura Beach, Patrick Star already wrote a good review of this game.

After spending 30,000 viz and skipping through all the dialogue, I can say for sure that this ''game'' (it's a visual novel) doesn't have a lot in its favor.

NEKOPARA Vol. 3

After reviewing Nekopara Vol. 3, my next review will be of Shining Resonance Refrain (Switch version), Rabi-Ribi (Switch version), Kill la Kill - IF (Switch version), or Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 (Switch version)...one of those games.

NEKOPARA Vol. 3

This is still a serious review of course, it's not an April Fools joke and everything I wrote still stands.

Scar-Lead Salvation 07-04-25 05:59 PM
|
''I've been thinking... You really don't inspire trust in other people.'
After 3 games rated M by the ESRB, which is funny because I didn't review a game rated M in 2024, it's time for a review of something more tame. Scar-Lead Salvation is, for now, the most recent game published by Idea Factory International, the game is explicitly described as a sci-fi roguelite shooter...I really don't have experience with roguelikes or roguelites or whatever and Scar-Lead Salvation is my first game described as a roguelite...I have a lot to say about Scar-Lead Salvation, so...let's begin.
Story: Definitely the best aspect of Scar-Lead Salvation. The main character is Willow Martin, a woman with no memories or knowledge of how she got in that place (a military facilty), she is contacted by an AI who aids her and through the conversations with the AI she will learn about the facility, who she really is and the outside world. It's not the most original story of course, but at this point a lot of stories can't be described as such, like other things in the sci-fi genre, it involves aliens of some kind (Contactors) but I still consider it an engaging and interesting story where you always want to learn more, the things that are revealed with the conversations/discussions between Willow and the AI can take you by surprise. Definitely a 7/10 at least, 8/10 at most.
Graphics: Despite being a recent game, the PS4 version of Scar-Lead Salvation is not impressive, objectively speaking there are a lot of PS4 games that look better, even if I compare the game only with games published by IFI, it's not the best game graphically speaking, Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online and Neptunia: Sisters VS Sisters look better. Willow's 3D Model looks really nice, the 2D art in the main menu looks great and there is some variety in the designs of the enemies you fight throughout the game, the robots and bosses look great more or less, however, Scar-Lead Salvation is very, very repetitive when it comes to the environments, it's a military facility ... SG|ZH: School Girl Zombie Hunter 05-16-25 09:42 PM

''I award you 100 Rei-rei points!''
My first review of a PS4 game in a long time. School Girl/Zombie Hunter (which I'll write as School Girl Zombie Hunter, that's how it's shown in the PS4 UI) is an Onechanbara spin-off released several years ago and to this day it's the most recent game in the franchise, at least in the sense that Onee Chanbara Origin is just a remake of the first two games but not really a new game...anyway, let's begin!
Story: Even if you have never played an Onechanbara game before you can still understand the story in School Girl Zombie Hunter, it really is an Onechanbara spin-off, the game takes place in the Onechanbara universe but it has a new cast of characters, characters that don't appear in the other games, so, even if this is your first game in the franchise (it almost was my first Onechanbara game to be honest) you won't be confused. Like the other games in the franchise, School Girl Zombie Hunter is, in simple terms, a game about zombies, there are 5 girls in a school full of zombies and apparently zombies appeared and started attacking all of a sudden, now those only 5 girls (in the school at least) have to survive and escape. The story isn't groudbreaking and it's not something extremely deep or emotional, I assume (I haven't played it) that The Last of Us 1 is an example of another story about zombies with great writing, School Girl Zombie Hunter isn't trying to be much more than it is however, in the end, the story works for the game and it's well implemented at least. It's another story about zombies but it works and the characters carry the story, they make you want to see more of the game...the 5 girls, Sayuri, Risa, Mayaya, Enami and Rei have more development than one might think and they do growth and develop as characters, they aren't one dimensional characters (unlike characters in other Japanese games), they are a little more complex than one might expect (especially Mayaya and Rei) and as I said, they develop as characters. I would say that compare... Read the rest of this Review

OneChanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers 04-21-25 03:37 PM

''Must I... suffer this again...?''
I'm back with a review of an Onechanbara game! The Onechanbara games are action games developed by Tamsoft, I have a lot of experience with games made by that developer, I've played Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed, I've played Drive Girls, and more. Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers was one of the first Onechanbara games released in the american continent, and the game for the Wii is the only Onechanbara game for a Nintendo console to this day. I really like Onechabara: Bikini Zombie Slayers but it definitely has things worthy of criticism...I don't know if I'll review another Wii game someday but anyway, let's begin.
Story: Eh, it's a typical story about zombies, the game is called ''Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers'', the enemies you fight are called ''undead'' in the game and not zombies but, even in the context of the game, what's the difference? Anyway, the story, what little story it might have, works and not much else, if one plays as Reiko, one of the playable characters, the story is a little interesting because Reiko is a researcher or scientist and her role is more neutral compared to other characters in the game, and according to her narration, the undead could be a product of the Earth itself...pollution and/or protein present in the world is creating those creatures, which is an interesting possibility and she also talks about the Baneful Blood, Baneful Blood is special blood inside of the characters including the sisters Aya and Saki, the Baneful blood can react to the blood of the undead and if one with Baneful Blood is exposed to too much undead blood, it can result in an increase in strength or power, but the person in such a state only wants to fight or kill and indeed, it can result in the person losing control...well, Reiko mentions some details, and she mentions that people with Baneful Blood are only women and that the presence of Baneful Blood can result in cellular mutation...interesting stuff or lore, but for the oth... Eternights 03-16-25 06:37 PM

''Okay, I am done listening to you perverts.''
My first review of 2025, this time it's a review of the Nintendo Switch version of Eternights. As you may or may not know, Eternights is a game rated M (and PEGI 16 in most of Europe, I don't know how it got a 12+ rating in Germany...), so, this will be my first review of a game rated M in more than a year, the last game rated M I reviewed was the Nintendo Switch version of Sable's Grimoire in 2023, and yeah, there aren't many M rated games I would want to review left but Eternights was a game I wanted to play and review, it's something at least. Of course, if after reading this review the game sounds interesting in your opinion or if it's a game that you were already interested in beforehand, keep that in mind...Eternights is rated M. Anyway, let's begin!
Story: Eternights is another game that takes place during the apocalypse/end of the world, the back of the box says that ''something, or someone, has turned humans into dangerous monsters driven to violence.'' When the game starts one of the first things you see are the protagonist (he doesn't have an official name) and his best friend Chani creating a profile for a dating app, everything is normal but several days later everything turns upside down...mysterious walls appear, people start to turn into violent monsters and you have to hide or run from those monsters until you can fight against those monsters...after a mysterious woman cuts off one of your arms (yes, really), then you get a new power and can finally defeat those monsters that were human before. It's not an original story (and let's be honest, what story can be considered original nowadays?) and it's not a complex story either, but it works and the cast is very likable, the characters in Eternights really carry the story and they are what makes you want to play the game from beginning to end. Without spoiling anything, I'll say right now that not everyone will like the ending, indeed, the ending in Eternights is one of those rare cases where... Read the rest of this Review

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 09-16-24 07:00 PM

''Welcome Back, Copen!''
It's time for a review of the Nintendo Switch version of Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, my first Gunvolt game...it was my first Gunvolt game because it has english voices unlike the previous games, when it was announced that Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 was also going to have English voices, my reaction was ''finally! Now I'll play a Gunvolt game for the first time!''...anyway, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 is a game rated T for Teen, and as you may or may not know, one of its content descriptors is ''Mild Suggestive Themes''...with that said, let's begin.
Story: I can confirm that you don't need to play the previous game to understand the story in Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, it's a platformer with a story that has little to do (if any) with the last game. Really, the story is just ''Copen, Lola and Kohaku end up in a different world, where they meet a robot named Null and now, Copen, Lola and Kohaku have to return to the world where they belong.'' Obviously there is a bit more than that and there are more characters in the story, but the game is a platformer and a game that at most takes 5, 6, or 7 hours to finish and as I said, at most. What the game offers in terms of story works, I like the story in Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 and not much else. Definitely a 7/10 at best.
Graphics: One of the best parts of the game. Like Rabi-Ribi, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2 has a pixelated art style and it looks great. The pixel art is better than other games that also use sprites and the game looks beautiful at times, the hanging gardens is probably the best area graphically speaking. The 2D art looks great, it's another anime style game and the characters look detailed in 2D, there are some short sequences/animations and they always look great, unlike other anime style games, the characters don't blink or move their mouths when they speak but at least they look great and as I sa...
