12:00 PM (CST): Tour of MC Vizzed
We'll start out with doing a tour of everything for the first hour. We'd do the tour of the worlds in order of their creation and try to showcase those worlds in order of the creations within those worlds. We'll discuss various details about what we're showcasing including the history and any fun memories related to them.

The group call will take place on the Vizzed Discord Channel under the minecraft-server voice chat channel.

We haven't decided what activity we'll be doing but we plan to do a few hours worth of activities based on the number of people interested and based on the suggested ideas. If anyone has any ideas for activities and games we should do, feel free to suggest them.

Vizzed MC 10 Year Anniversary on April 18th
The 10 year anniversary of the Vizzed.co Minecraft server is coming up on April 18th. We plan to host a few Minecraft events on that server on that day and possibly on days around that date as well. There are no set plans yet on what we'll be doing for the events, so if anyone has any ideas, feel free to let us know (even if it required installing new plugins, I'm willing to do that). I took off work and will be spending a lot of the day on the Vizzed MC server.

Minecraft Server Updated to the Latest Version
The server has been updated from 1.18.2 to 1.20.4, which is the latest version.


Play Vizzed MC Server from Bedrock
I've installed a plugin (WebSenderReloaded 1.0.2) on the Vizzed.co Minecraft server that lets you connect to the server from the bedrock version of Minecraft. You can also connect to it from a console version of Minecraft using the BedrockTogether app, which you can find instructions for here.

2023 was definitely a lower point for Vizzed. Traffic wasn't terrible, but my IT position kept me so stressed and busy throughout the year, it resulted into me being unable to invest the time into the site that I had planned. The only 2 notable updates to the site included:
-New Post Editor, which is still somewhat in development.
-Implemented Various Security and other various optimizations to the site's code.

Vizzed.com turned 20 years old earlier this year. I might still find time to make a 20 year anniversary video before the month ends, but unlikely at this point.

A lot of veterans returned to the site in 2023, which was very exciting to see. It gives me a lot of hope for 2024. Something that also excites me for 2024 is that my work schedule will be more flexible. I'll be allowed to work from home again (1 day a week) and I'll be allowed to adjust my hours so that I can work 4 days a week at my job, giving me 1 day a week where I can focus on Vizzed. For those who don't know, my weekends are set aside for my family, and after a long day of mentally exhausting programming, I don't have the brain capacity of motivation to work on Vizzed after I get home from work, so usually the only time I work on Vizzed is when I take days off (from time to time I'll do things after work or on the weekend, but it's not common).

Next year will be the 20th anniversary of Vizzed Board, and also the 10 year anniversary of the Minecraft Server. I have something special planned for both events

The RGR Plugin 2022+.msi file that we released a year ago is no longer valid. This is because the SSL certificate associated with that installer expired and I messed up a few things when I went to renew it. This is why the games in the Retro Game Room stopped working about a month ago.

We have a new installer which you can get here:
RGR Plugin 2023+.msi

You will have to uninstall the RGR Plugin 2022+ on your computer before installing that, if you have the RGR Plugin 2022+.msi installed.

To uninstall it:

1. Go to Add or remove programs, which you can access by typing into your Windows search bar.
2. Find RGR Plugin 2022+.msi from the list and uninstall it.
3. Then go ahead and install the new RGR Plugin 2023+.msi.

The RGR Plugin is currently unavailable due to SSL renewal issues. It should hopefully be back up sometime between Saturday and Monday (8/5 - 8/7).


pokemon x discovered a temporary solution:

Step 1- Go here https://rgrplugin.vizzed.com:2761/

Step 2- Proceed to page despite warning if it says something about Security Certificate is expired accept anyways.

Step 3- Close page and go back to a game and it should now work again.

Vizzed.com domain turned 20 years old this month! I actually wasn't even old enough to buy the domain 20 years ago. Jake-A-Roonie bought it for me, and then the following year I turned 18 and got a debit card so that I could start paying for it.

Vizzed.com was founded 1 1/2 years before this version of the site was created, and it was founded roughly 1 year after the first Vizzed Board came to life. So the history of Vizzed has a lot of different milestones and anniversaries, but this is probably one of the biggest. Not many sites or domains last this long on the internet. It's incredible that I've been able to have a community that continues to use the site, even after all these years.

I'm still working on putting together a YouTube video. Not sure when that'll be done, maybe in a few weeks. Either way, it'll still be released before the year ends, so it'll still come out during the anniversary year (just not the year and month).

I've implemented some extra security to the site. A hacker discovered a few exploits 2 months ago, and was kind enough to show me what the exploits were, and how to fix them. If you're reading this hacker, thanks again, and feel free to email me or contact me if you notice anything else.

If anyone notices any issues with the site that started occurring after this update, please let me know ASAP so that I can fix it.


Securing the Inputs
I've updated the script that analyzes and cleans any data that gets inserted into the database. I also updated the headers of the site.


Securing the Passwords
I've updated the site's password encryption. The old was very outdated. The new one makes it so much more difficult to crack a user's password.

NOTE: User passwords will only use the new encryption after a user changes their password (and for new users). So, I highly recommend everyone update their Vizzed password at some point, if you want to ensure your account is more secure. I'll eventually make an alert that reminds each user to change their password.


HTML Cleaner
I'm utilizing HTMLPurifier for most input that involves HTML. This analyzes any HTML that gets submitted to the site, removes anything that might be potentially malicious, and also fixes the HTML if there's anything broken. Inputs that would utilize this include Posts, various profile editing, etc.

This also allowed me to eliminate the z tags that sometimes get placed into various thread titles, posts and other sections of the site.
