WWE Wrestlemania XIX Featured Review

WWE Wrestlemania XIX Review by: SuperCrash64 - 9.5/10

WWE wrestlemania 19 the video game review
WWE WrestleMania XIX was released for the Nintendo Gamecube by THQ in 2003,  this game was the follow up to Wrestlemania 8 on the Gamecube.

I've done a lot of wrestling game reviews so how well does this one hold up? Let's find out.

Graphics: 6/10
Remarkably, this game looks like a Cross between Smackdown Here Comes The Pain, and the Original WWE SmackDown.VS Raw for PlayStation 2.    The characters aren't realistic looking because this was a earlier wrestling game, so I'll say the graphics are a bit cartoonist, the animations are a little out of wack,  but that's not to say this is a bad looking title:  The best thing about it is the face textures that were given to the wrestlers, as they have very remarkable detail.   For Example: If you look at someone like Shawn Michaels or Edge their facial appearances are very close to their Real-life counterparts from back then.

Sound: 5/10

The Sound it's self wasn't really great for the Gamecube Wrestling games, there's no commentary, no grunts, it's just mostly Wrestling action and a mixture of Superstar music and in-game wrestling match music.

Nothing remarkable in the sound section here.

Addictiveness: 10/10
Remarkably this is one of the Funner Wrestling games because you have a lot of the Features that weren't present in the WWE SmackDown VS Raw games.      You can beat up the Referee Earl Hebner as much as you want(or do what I do and Use Brock Lesnar to F-5 him)
Fair warning the Referee will fight back or DQ' you.   This game has a ton of fun in it to keep you entertained, it's best enjoyed with two people as the Computer personally isn't challenging.

Story: N/A
There's really no Story in this game as it's based literally on WrestleMania 19 from back then.

Depth: 10/10
You have fatal 4 way matches, Triple Threat matches,  a Singles match, a Revenge mode match, and finally the Royal Rumble match.
Each of the matches( Minus the Revenge Mode and Royal Rumble match)  Give you different match type's you can play through,  I'd advise staying away from the Ladder and Steel Cage Match type's though as they end way too quickly.     The Royal Rumble Match type isn't bad at all, but the bad part is once both players are eliminated from the Royal Rumble you can't pick another Superstar like you can in the later on Wrestling games.
There's also Create a Superstar mode, Revenge mode.(which is you beating and destroying up Vince's Wrestlemania Promotional stuff in a fun wrestling style mini-games. I enjoy Picking Brock Lesnar and just destroying the Security guards in that mode lol)
In Revenge mode you have about 4 or 5 different modes of Revenge, each time you complete a level, the difficulty will go up and the task will change so it's not repetitive in anyway.
Unlike all the other Wrestling games, in Wrestlemania XIX you also have all wrestlers unlocked from the get-go. So you can freely pick any superstar you want without having to do some tedious task to unlock the characters.

Difficulty: 5/10
The game is a pick up and play. So the Difficulty section is gonna be subjective here, as it will depend on the timing and reaction of your Reversals, how you do your finishers, and how predictable you can be.  Like Wrestling games aren't mechanically difficult, it's really just all about mind-games.

Overall:  9.5 This is one of the better wrestling games out for the Gamecube, I Actually prefer this over the other wrestling titles like WWE 12 on the WII.

If the Royal Rumble match, Steel Cage match, and Ladder match types weren't so flawed I'd rate this game higher.
