Tatsunoko vs Capcom: the other Capcom vs series
Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a solid fighting game that was oddly my first. I'm glad it was, since this introduced me to the whole fighting game genre, and I'm eager to play some more fighting games. Why is this fighting game so good? Well, this is what this review is all about!

Graphics:10/10
I really like the models in this game. The attacks go very smoothly (except when the attack hits, for obvious reasons), the models are very easy to recognize, and I like the background of some of the levels you fight in. An example is Aensland Castle. In the background, you see these mirror like things. They reflect your character when they move around the stage, and when I noticed that for the first time, I just thought it was SO COOL! I know, I'm a bit too exited about things, but that's just me. My favorite character model is Zero because, well, I'm a bit of a Zero fangirl. Zero looks great and all the details are there, but I could say that about all the other character models, honestly.

Sound:6/10
This is one of the downfalls of the game. The soundtrack to me is, meh. I mean, there are some tracks I really like, for example I really like Yami's 3rd form's theme, and the intro song that plays before the title screen. I just don't like the soundtrack in general. However, the sound effects are great, and the voice acting! Unlike other Capcom games, this one has great voice acting. Only problem is, the voice acting is Japanese. The voice acting alone justifies the sound just enough to land it above meh (a rating of 5).

Addictiveness:9/10
This game's arcade mode is short, and you can make it easy by fiddling with the options. That makes it easy for you to replay the game over, and over and...you get the point. There is also incentive to replay the game because of character costumes, Zenny (the currency in the game), and extra unlockable characters. I have pretty much finished the game, and yet I find myself replaying it just for the purpose of playing the game. This game can get addictive at times and each play through is as enjoyable as the last.

Story:5/10
The second downfall of this game. This is a fighting game, and fighting games don't really have stories. I just wish this game had more of a story. Basically, Yami created some dimensional rift (how does he do that?) that brought Capcom characters and Tatsunoko characters together. You have to beat Yami, but you also have to beat other characters for whatever reason it may be. We are fighting for the same reason, you know. Beating Yami apparently fixes the dimensional rift (again, how does that happen?) and everything is all fine in the world. Unless you replay the arcade mode. Then the story starts over. I just wish they explained some aspects of the story and expanded more.

Depth:8/10
There are different modes for this game that you can play. One of them is arcade mode, aka the story mode. The other ones are time attack, where you try to beat arcade mode in the least time possible, survival mode where you try to survive as long as possible against the CPU, and extra game. What is extra game? Unlocking it is quite a pain, but it's basically a shooter mini game. There are also a pretty big roster. There are 22 characters to choose from at the start of the game, with 5 unlockable characters. There is depth, but this isn't the biggest fighting game ever.

Difficulty:8/10
This is a pretty hard category to rate, considering that you can choose your difficulty in the settings. I will give it a round about score, since you can choose how hard the game will be. Instead, I will talk about changing the difficulty. The difficulty area changes the difficulty of the CPU (duh), one star being the easiest and 8 stars being the hardest. The time area changes how much time you have to finish a match, from 30 seconds to infinity. The HG area (HG stands for Hyper Gauge) determines how much HG you start out with at the start of the match. As you can see, you can customize the difficulty, making the game more accessible to people.

My final thoughts are that this game is really good and if you like fighting games, you should at least check the game out.
