Kirby 64 Review   gamerforlifefor..
During the N64 era, all of Nintendo's Beloved franchises were making their 3D Debuts on the N64. There was Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, and F-Zero X, and all of those games made great use of the 3D capabilities of the N64. In 2000, Kirby finally made his debut on the beloved console in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. How does this game compare to the N64 games I mentioned? Was the Kirby series' N64 debut a success? I'll tell you by making this review.
Graphics: 9/10 Unlike the games I previously mentioned, Kirby 64 isn't technically a 3D platformer. It's actually a 2.5D platformer. The game has 3 dimensional environments that show off the capabilities of the N64 graphically, but you're only able to move left, right, up or down, just like in a 2D side scroller. The camera angles change depending on where you are in the level, which helps show what the environments look like from different angles. While it would've been interesting to see how this game would've been if it were a true 3D platformer like Super Mario 64, the visuals for this game are still great for it's time. The character models are superb, and there's a great variety of level designs which includes grassy terrains, a factory, and even a volcano. Another reason why Kirby 64's graphics are great is because of the cut-scenes. Each one has a frame around them, like you're looking at a live painting or picture. Also they're some of the best looking parts of the game. Overall, the graphics in Kirby 64 are some of the best you'll find on the system. There aren't many other N64 games that have better graphics. For these reasons, I'm giving the graphics a 9.
Sound: 9/10 Kirby 64 offers one of the better N64 tracks out there. The boss theme, Dark Matter theme, and of course the 02 theme are the biggest highlights of Kirby 64's soundtrack. Every track in the game is a great fit for the areas they play in, and the 3 themes I mentioned are some of the best boss themes you'll hear in an N64 game. Along with the amazing boss themes, the game also has an incredible opening theme that does a great job emphasizing the threat that Dark Matter poses to Ribbon's world, Ripple Star. Overall, some soundtracks like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 have more memorable music than this game, but Kirby 64's soundtrack is still one of the best soundtracks you'll hear in an N64 game, so I'm giving the sound a 9.
Addictiveness: 10/10 Kirby 64 has some of the most addicting gameplay in the series. The main reason I say this is because of the fact that you can combine Kirby's 7 stand alone power-ups to create completely new abilities. For example, you can combine Kirby's fire and cutter abilities to give him a flame sword. Another example is combining Kirby's bomb and cutter abilities to give him EXPLODING SHURIKENS! This is surprisingly the only game in the series that allows you to combine abilities. I really wish that HAL Laboratory would make another Kirby game that lets you combine abilities like you can in this game. This feature is easily the most innovating part about Kirby 64, and it's also what makes the game so addicting. Kirby 64's gameplay mechanics give it huge replay value. For these reasons, I'm giving the addictiveness a 10.
Story: 7/10
Kirby 64 begins when the villainous Dark Matter invades Ripple Star, the home of fairies, one of which named Ribbon, escapes on a crystal. Dark Matter gives chase and eventually the crystal is split into different pieces, and Ribbon is knocked down into Dream Land, where she meets Kirby. Ribbon lets Kirby know about her home world, and Kirby joins her on a quest to find the missing Crystal Shards and save the Galaxy from Dark Matter. This is one of the better storylines in the Kirby series, however, there are better storylines in gaming out there. I do believe the story category in Kirby 64 is worthy of a 7 however.
Depth: 4/10 When it comes to content, Kirby 64 isn't even close to being in the same league as Super Mario 64. There are a total of 7 worlds with a total levels in each world being 4, 3, or in one case, 1. The levels themselves take awhile to complete, though this doesn't make up for the fact that there aren't a ton of levels to beat, which means it won't take a long time to complete. To make matters worse, the story mode is the only mode that has any substance. Overall, Kirby 64 isn't a very lengthy game, so I'm giving the depth a 4.
Difficulty: 2/10
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is one of the easiest games for the N64. The levels themselves aren't very tough to beat, and a majority of the boss battles are fairly easy as well. The bosses that can be tough to beat are each towards the end of the game. It's certainly not the easiest game out there, but as far as the N64 goes, it's a piece of cake. For these reasons, I'm giving the difficulty a 2.
Overall Score: 9/10 Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is one of the better N64 titles out there. You can combine abilities, find hidden crystal shards, and explore beautiful environments. The soundtrack is extremely memorable, and it has one of the better storylines in the series. The lack of difficulty and depth may be a deterrent to some, but it's addicting gameplay more than makes up for it. Overall, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is worthy of a 9 out of 10. I hope you enjoyed this review. I'll be reviewing more Kirby games in the future.

Kirby goes 3D.   RedHotToddy
Boy am I on a roll with the Kirby games this month on vizzed! I have already reviewed almost of his games here on vizzed! Don't worry, maybe after this one I'll get on to Kirby avalanche and Kirby dream course, but this one I am reviewing today is a special one, This is Kirby's first ever 3D adventure! So what is the game you ask? This is Kirby 64 the crystal shards for the Nintendo 64.
Story-7/10
The story behind this one is that the planet ripple star has been invaded by the evil spirit dark matter, and then after that, this little fairy by the name of ribbon has landed in pop star with this big crystal, then dark matter and these other guys have broken the crystal into many individual pieces, she then agrees to help Kirby and his pals recover the crystal and bring it all back in one piece. It is now up to you to save the day and recover the crystal!
Gameplay-7/10
Kirby 64 plays just like other Kirby games in the series, except one thing, this game is a 2.D platformer, which means the game is 2D but the actual graphics are 3D, games like sonic rush prove are an example of the genre. But anyways, in this game you control Kirby as you adventure through more then 5 big worlds defeating enemies, swallowing foes, and most importantly, recovering all of the crystal shards! That is right everyone, the crystal shards are a huge aspect of beating this game, well actually, not that much, you will just have to collect as much as you can, but it is all better if you collect all of them. But anyways, at the end of each world you must fight a crazy boss, these arrange from sharks and other scary foes, including dark matter, the main villain of the game. The controls are really simple and easy to get the hang of, A is jump, B is swallow, and the D-pad lets you move. Anyways, that is it for the gameplay.
Graphics-8/10
Oh my god, this game was made in 2000, one of the Nintendo 64's last years before it vanished off into the dust, and I will admit, this game looks really good! Everything looks all bright colorful and cartoony, just like a Kirby game should be, right? Correct! All the worlds you will be exploring are bursting with color, atmosphere, and everything else. As for the characters, they look pretty good as well! Kirby looks like himself, King dedede looks like himself, and all of Kirby's new friends look really awesome! Yes, even paint roller, He is a human in this game. The HUD Is pretty self explanatory, It shows you how many lives you have left until game over, how many health points you have left until you lose a life, your currently selected power, and beneath your health meter it shows a yellow gauge, once this is all filled up, You will extra life, you must collect these special stars in every level to fill up the gauge.
Sound-8/10
The sound in this game is everything you would expect from a Kirby game! It is very bright cartoony and really helps you prepare for each level, You know, I am really getting used to this in every Kirby game I play, and that is a very good thing! Because Kirby games should stay that way, But as for the sound effects, they are indeed awesome, I mean, sure some things have not changed, but that is for the best, because like Arnold from hey Arnold would say, why change? Some old things are great! But one small problem, some, and I say SOME of the songs can get repetitive, but that is not a problem at all!
Addictiveness-7/10
Kirby's jump to 3D is so fun, you will never want to take it out of your N64! The game has everything you want from a Kirby game, action, humor, fun, charm, etc. And that is good! The game is very worth playing over and over again, because Kirby games always offer you a ton of stuff to do in the meantime, such as those subgames, and the length in each game! The first time I played this game, I didn't ask my dad for a new N64 game until my friend gave me a copy of ocarina of time! (Which I shall review some day, or maybe tommorow) But anyways, that is how likely I am to ever play this game again.
Depth-7/10
The game is pretty lengthy and offers alot of stuff to do, I mean for one, there are a bunch of pieces of the crystal shards to collect! And collecting all of them is one of the true ways to get 100% in this game, and second, the game is about 6 worlds long, so it will most likely take you 2-5 hours to beat the whole game.
Difficulty-7/10
I am used to kirby games being hard, and this is no exception, this game was extremlely challenging and I remembered dying quite alot on some certain stages, but oh well, like I have said in some of my previous reviews, If you are a true expert gamer, then the game should not give you any trouble at all. And that is great!
Overall-9.6/10
Kirby's jump to the third-dimension was a success to say the least! I had alot of fun this game and I hope you do have fun with it as well, after all, It is kirby, so It has to be fun! I gave this game a 9.6 because how much It offers and everything else about it, So If you see this one anywhere, Just buy it!  I mean, yeah sure, It is kirby, but kirby is an awesome video game series that has been running for a long time, so cut him slack, but just buy this one, you will never be more satisfieed then this guys!

Kirby 64 Review   Marcmoney
Overall - 9.5
Kirby 64 is so awesome.  I would say that it is the best Kirby game ever made before the Wii came out. :P I enjoy playing this game so much, that I would play it over again once I've beaten it.
Graphics - 10
The graphics are perfect.  It looks 3D and fantastic.
Sound - 10
The sound is perfect too and it goes with the game very well.
Addictiveness - 9
I would play this many times, but not forever. :P
Story - 10
The story is good, but what I don't get is the ending how the queen gives Kirby an evil look. :S The story happens when a black creature comes into a kingdom and covers the whole place nothing but black scribbles.  A little fairy escapes the kingdom with the holy crystal that is sacred to their kingdom and being chased after the black scribble creatures, making the little fairy lose control of the giant crystal, causing it to break into pieces and being separated in different worlds.  The little fairy falls into Kirby's world and meets Kirby and asks for help to retrieve all the crystal pieces.  Kirby chose to help and is now on an adventure to getting all the crystal pieces and saving the little fairy's kingdom.
Depth - 7
The game is not that really big.  Just about 6 worlds with 5 to 6 levels in each world.  It's still fun though. :)
Difficulty - 4
It is not that really hard.  The boss of the game is not that hard if you know what and how beat him very easily.
Wrap Things Up...
Kirby 64 is a very good game to play.  There are different things that Kirby can swallow and combine, which makes the game so fun.  I highly recommend getting this game, it is a whole lot of fun and I guarantee that you will enjoy it. :)

Kirby's Crystal Shards N64   Deadman9001
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
Welcome to the world of the Nintendo 64, one of the last Nintendo consoles to date that was seen as a top contender of the console wars.  Arguably the best console of its generation with many many hit games across its boards, that continue to garner the love and adoration of today's college kids and the parents that would get confused by the consoles that were to follow.  By the time Kirby 64 was launched in North America, the world was watching for the next Gen of consoles, with Nintendo featuring the Game cube in late 2001.  Kirby 64 released to the NA market in June of 2000 was one of the instant classics, with its inspiring soundtrack, memorable characters and the single moment in Kirby game history to feature the ability to combine the copy ability, creating many fun combinations for the player to try.  But how well did this game do?
Story: 8
The story behind the Crystal Shards is revealed during the intro to the game upon a players first play through. A home world to the fairies is overrun by Dark Matter, the games antagonist.  During the invasion one of the Fairies takes off with the planets greatest treasure the Great Crystal.  The Dark matter sends minions to retrieve the Crystal which during the chase is destroyed and shattered into pieces.  The Fairy then finds herself in the company of our hero Kirby, and it is up to the puffball to gather the shards, help Ribbon (the fairy) save her home and defeat the Dark Matter.
The story takes some fun curves along the way, rewarding the player with discovery using hidden shard pieces that can be found across the map.  These shards are not really required to beat the game, as the player must pass the stage and defeat the worlds boss before they move on.  Kirby must travel through 6 worlds in order to save the fairy home world, each having its own theme.
Depth: 8
Depth for the 2.5D game is rather good.  Despite the low world count (only having 6 worlds to travel to), each world contains about 4-6 Levels.  Each level does not take a large amount of time to go through, but if the player dies, they must go back to other levels or replay the same level to gain back abilities they prefer.  For example, I happen to like the electric and cutter abilities combined, creating a light saber.  If I were to die on a level with one of those two abilities missing, I would have to finish the level with one ability and go to another level I know has the other ability.  While this could get annoying, the amount of combinations can also provide players with many different attacks, some that will fit the player nicely.  This provides added depth, as no play through will be the same, and lends the player the ability to discover each combination in all the various levels
Difficulty: 6
Kirby 64 is a challenging game on an emulator especially, and while the levels are short, you can still die if you are not careful.  Some abilities if used in certain ways can get you killed faster than others.   It is recommended that if the player has advanced to the worlds boss stage, that the player should have an ability, or multiple abilities, that they are comfortable with using.  If the player decides to continue on to the boss battle, the difficulty will grow as the player has no reliable way to attack the boss.  However the game does give the player the ability to fight, as the boss will shoot objects or the player will find things around the arena to shoot back at the boss to do some damage.   The difficulty when playing on the original console however is lower, as the player can stack lives with either finding 1up's hidden in the level, or jumping on the 1up at the end of each level.  This also includes collecting stars, like collecting coins in Mario.
Graphics: 9
When a game comes out towards the end of a consoles life cycle, it is typical to see or expect gaming companies to have the highest quality in graphics.  Creators have studied what the console has to offer, and they begin to push the console to its limit.  Kirby's graphics are simple in some areas, but are well designed in others.  This game uses that boundary line of the consoles ability in graphics, including many different items in 3D, while the side scroller in the game wants to make it 2D.  The Crystal Shards is considered a 2.5D game, as it balances between the 3D open world and 2D side scroller which Hal pulls off very well.  The character movements are solid, bouncing is well designed and thought out, and the abilities display accurate control depending on the type of attack used.  A spike/Electric mix only attacks enemies above Kirby, while the Fire/Cutter damages whatever touches the fire sword.  Each Level and world follows the theme very nicely, even the bosses of the levels suit its theme very well
Sound: 10
Each level, boss fight, world has it's own unique soundtrack.  This makes the game rather enjoyable as the same song does not get played if the player advances without losing a life.  If the player does lose a life and replays the level, the tunes will not aggravate or annoy them.  The tunes of the soundtrack for the game are catchy, and each fit the theme of the level they are played on.  Kirby's soundtrack is a memorable audio file, that will make any gamer who has played it, remember the fond memories of the game.
Addictiveness: 10
Kirby 64 will make you want to play time and time again, with the memorable characters, catchy tunes, and goofy boss fights.  This game will take a few hours to play through, and does create lovely memories of its gameplay.  My favorite part about this game is the dual abilities, and the fun combinations by mixing abilities.  Earth/Electric, Fire/Ice, mix and match any two abilities and you have an interesting new attack!  Spike/Electric gives you a Lightning rod that summons a bolt from the heavens to strike foes above you, Fire/Cutter gives you a flaming sword that will destroy any who dare step in the swing radius.  Electric/Cutter gives you a dual lightsaber that will zap foes infront of you, and the list goes on.  Want to see some for yourself? go ahead and play this game!
Overall I rate this game a 9.5 for what it offers the player, and the memories I have of beating this game after renting it from Movie Gallery and other game rental stores all the time.  I recommend you give it a try, I guarantee that you will enjoy this game hands down.

Pretty awesome Kirby game   pacman1755
In this review, I am going to review Kirby 64, I enjoyed this game, so let's begin.
DIFFICULTY: 7
The game isn't that hard, but it does has some challenges so its not too easy. It has some secrets to move on to a real ending so its hard to collect the items known as Crystal Shards.
DEPTH: 8
There is a lot to do if you look to beat the game 100%, but not too much to do, but there is quite a few worlds with about 4 or 5 levels each with it, so it has its length. Big but not too big.
STORY: 7
It's not that big of a story, but there is a story here, the story is that a Fairy falls from the sky and meets Kirby, she needs Kirby's help to help destroy the darkness in the Galaxy. Kirby can't beat the darkness alone, so he recruits his friends and even his enemy, King Dedede. Together they team up to fight for peace in their galaxy and home land.
ADDICTIVENESS: 9
The game is pretty fun to play, I enjoy playing this, especially the minigame between worlds, where Kirby jumps on the Picnic blanket and attempts to grab items or health. The powerups you can mash up is fun too, you can take a powerup from one enemy Kirby swallows and throw it to another enemy to create a new power. I love it.
Sound: 9
Sound effects are pretty good in this game, not the best I've ever heard but I like the music most of all, pretty catchy and it gets stuck in your head after you spend a long time playing the same world for a while. Sound FX were good, but music I like more.
Graphics: 10!
I really was impressed with the graphics in this game, it had a 3D feeling to it, and I enjoyed it, the variety of graphic colors, backgrounds, and projectiles were excellent. I loved their effort on this.
Overall: 9.6
My final verdict of this game, Kirby 64, is an impressive 9.6, it has a few flaws, but I really enjoyed the game in its entirety. I would definately suggest you to go on to the RGR and play this game right now. It will impress you.
Thank you for reading :)

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards   gamegeek
When Nintendo started porting their major IPs from the 2D SNES to the 3D 64, a lot of fans questioned how well certain series would transfer.  Especially with series like Metroid and Kirby.  It's true that Mario and Donkey Kong ported nicely, with their gameplay mechanics largely in tact comparatively.  But the major concerns were series like Kirby, where the focus was on doing more than just skilfully platforming.  So when Nintendo released the game as a 3.5D side scroller featuring the ability to mix and match powers like an indecisive fan character, the community at large reacted with an overwhelmingly positive view.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is (as previously mentioned), a 3.5 sidescroller based around consuming enemies to gain powers, which in a new twist, can be combined to form more effective or unique powers. And while the mechanics are fairly well designed, the story is lacking.  One day, while Kirby is of course eating, a magical crystal falls from the sky and is later explained to be part of some fairies crystal...sort of.  There's no voice acting or subtitles for any of the games cutscenes, so a large amount of the story is inferred via character interactions and facial expressions.  Leaving this as one of the most minimal plots for a Kirby game to date.  Not to say that's a bad thing, especially as this style of storytelling works in the games favor, leaving more space for things like powers and enemy designs as well as keeping the pace of the game fairly fast, reducing the amount of time spent not in stages.
A hitherto unheard of premise for the Kirby series, Kirby now has the ability to combine up to two powers he has gained from suction.  Whether it's pulling a giant flaming sword from the ether or turning Kirby into a curling puck, these powers help Kirby bypass enemies and platforming challenges.  Additionally, they tend to be very fun to use and serve multiple purposes or have multiple functions.  For example, not only is his new refrigerator form invincible and can one hit ko most enemies, but the food it spits out can actually be picked up by Kirby to restore health, making most levels a breeze.  But what helps these powers stand out is the games controls, which feel tight and intuitive, as well as highly responsive.  I can safely say that any deaths I suffered from this game were of no fault to the controls, just my own ineptitude.
As one progresses through these areas, you're also bound to notice the gorgeous 3D rendered level designs.  Sure not all of them were fantastic, most noticeably the water themed worlds tended to have bland and repetitive scenery set pieces, but a good number of the levels included--especially in the winter themed planets, provided wonderful and imaginative landscapes that more than made up for the newfound linearity the game brought in comparison to it's SNES predecessors.
That being said, the games linear playstyle is a huge step back from the SNES era Kirby games, which featured great maze like levels complete with alternate routes, tons of hidden goodies, and platforming puzzles which required the player to obtain certain enemy powers. In fact, the only time anything remotely similar happens in Crystal Shards is when you occasionally come across a large checkered or single color brick that can only be broken with a matching colored power.  A puzzle which isn't even that difficult considering that, in another departure from previous entries, you can backtrack through 90% of the game and get the required powers from a respawned enemy.  Otherwise, you could beat almost all of the levels in game without absorbing a single enemy.
Furthermore, as much as I praised the ability to combine different standard powers into new super powers earlier, the system suffers from some serious power balance issues.  And as much as I'd like to believe that these powers were created as jokes, it felt more degrading to think that I'd wasted time trying to smash one enemy with another enemy just to get that double power star.  For example, fireworks kirby has an impressive looking attack that does very little damage in a small range around kirby.  In fact, the range is so small you're actually likely to bump into an enemy and lose the power anyways. Or Lightbulb Kirby, who runs forward until he hits an enemy...At which point you take damage and lose the ability.  There's at least one joke power to every two good ones unfortunately, but it doesn't detract from the game any more past that initial disappointment.
It's a good thing there are plenty of ultra useful powers as well too, considering the games difficulty curve when it comes to bosses is especially well constructed.  Even though you could get through almost any level without sucking up a single bad guy, you'll want to anyways for these boss creatures.  Since trying to take them down without acquiring one would be an exercise in self-flagellation.  Starting out easy and exhibiting typical boss traits, they start to evolve from planet 2 onwards till the Final Boss resembles nothing you'd expect from this game so far.  A fight I won't spoil because it truly has to be seen to be believed, and carries on the classic Kirby tradition of "Cutesy game, nightmare inducing end boss".
While it wasn't a flawless transfer from 2D to 3D by any means, sacrificing it's complex level designs for linear platforming challenges made trivial by Kirby's natural ability to float and having some lackluster designs in places, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is still a Nintendo 64 gem that  I could heartily recommend to any gamer from any age group.  Even today it's  cartoony adorableness has withstood the test of time remarkably well, and will likely be remembered fondly for a long time to come.  Which is why my overall review score for this old school classic is an eight out of ten.

Cute fluffy puffs of awesomeness   yoshirulez!

Yeah, Thought I'd do another review. Pay no attention to it if you don't love cute fluffy cuddleable pink blobs of sunshine and stuff.

I've been a fan or kirby games for a while, But i never tried this one until My dad bought it for me along with some other cool games. Honestly. At the time i didn't care for it because it was too cute and not dark and depressing like stuff like final fantasy games. But, Everyone who knows me, Knows this: I absolutely adore cute games and fluffy animals such as hamsters. Some say i have an obsession with it, Some totally agree with me that these games are cute and fluffy. I mean, How can you not like the uber fluffy warmth that a happy bouncy videogame has to offer? This game makes me want to fill my room with rainbow teddy bears and streamers. Games not a party without streamers. Yeauh. Much cute. Although I'm not a big fan of the color pink, This makes me want to dye myself pink. EVERY SINGLE LITTLE BIT OF ME!!! EVEN MY INSIDES! SHINY PRETTY GLOWING PINK INSIDES!!!! *cough* Anyways.... OFF TO THE LAND OF CUTE REVIEWS!

Graphics:10. These graphics are nice and puffy looking. Bouncy enviroments, And the details on the leaves, Makes me think that my brain is a cartoon. A cartoon land filled with happy animals gallivanting around in a cute pretty forest in the midst of autumn. With all the leaves blowing in the wind, colors of orange and yellow, possibly some green ones, Little birdies flying south for the winter, Crunchy leaves under your feet.

The nintendo 64's graphics capabilities are incredible. So smooth, So pretty. So HAPPY. :) see? I'm smiling :) :) LOOK AT ME SMILE DANGIT IM HAPPY!!!! :))))))

Sound:10. Not alot of original sounds and music were present in the 64 era, But this one breaks the mold. Nice and original, Bouncy, Mostly BOING noises though. The explosions sound cool! Thats something thats different. You don't hear cool explosion sounds in stuff like Ocarina of time or Star fox 64. The electricity sounds are kinda cute in my opinion. All buzzy like a pretty shiny bug. Like those sorta shiny green beetles you always see in the spring/summer time. Then again they may not be where ever you live.... Dunno. But if you're reading this, I've probably stalked you. So i would know... I'm going to assume..... No. You don't have em down there.

Darnit, I changed the subject again... Back to the review. And the stalking

Music:10. Yep, A 10. I wanted to add another 10 but there's not an option for it. : The music is really uplifting, upbeat, bouncy and happy. A lot like Hamtaro - Ham-ham heartbreak. It makes your ears ooze with cute rays of sunshine. Which may not sound pleasant, but it is. It's happened to me. Whenever i get depressed, I decide to play happy games that are full of happy cuteness. Cmon guys, Join the rays of happy sunshine oozing out of your ears movement. Just 10 easy payments of 20 hours a day! Call now!

Addictiveness:10. You'll play it everyday for the rest of your life. No eating no sleeping. You just sit there... stare at the cuteness as you press itty bitty buttons to make kirby do cute things while killing birds and stuff. IT WANTS YOUR BWAIIINNNZZZZ!!!!. But your brains have already been melted by the cute rays of sunshine. In fact, When it melts your brain, Thats when it oozes out of your ears. It is cute sunshine baked braincells morphed into a beam of light. Much like a lightsaber. I think?

Story:8. The story is also cute, But also a bit unsettling. There's a happy world full of faries and cute magical things. very cute and very magical. But then these black void monster things invade the world, And they're after the magical crystal thingy. So, one of the faries take it and fly off with it. But the dark void monster creature things attack her. The crystal shatters, And the farie falls out of space and on to pop star or whatever kirbys world is called. Luckily, The farie broke her fall with.... Kirby. But, since the crystal was shattered in space, It was spread across the galaxy. So, kirby and whatever her name is, Goes on an adventure to collect the shattered crystal. You also eet familiar faces from previous games. (not spoiling that part ;) )

Depth:10. UGH! This game goes on FOREVER! It's extremely hard to beat the game, But then you have to backtrack and get ALL OF THE CRYSTAL SHARDS!. So yeah. I ragequit this game every now and then. Luckily, When you get all the crystal shards, You get to fight a special boss. Which is a bit disturbing since it's a GIANT FLOATING ANGEL THING WITH BLOOD COMING OUT OF ITS EYE!. SO not fit for a kirby game. They're supposed to be cute. Extremely cute. Born out of the depths of cuteness. Not a bloody eyed death angel!

Difficulty:10. This game is extremely hard. I mean, I've been able to speedrun games like this, But this one is just insane. What with all of the FALLING ROCKS, EXPLODING FISH, GENERAL SHARP THINGS, and GIANT THINGS THAT WILL CRUSH YOU AND LOSE YOUR LIFE! BEWARE! BEEEEWAREEE!!!!!!! Darn crazy game is crazy, but fun. So, 10/10. Because i dont know many challenging games like this. You should play it.

So thats my kirby 64 review. Now, you should plug your ears so the happy brain sunrays dont spill out of your head. :3 Cute character for a cute game. I really enjoyed this game, And it's possibly my favorite Kirby game I've played. Besides Kirby's dream land 3. That was a REALLY cute and fun game. Maybe I'll do a review on it. And sorry if I freaked out a bit too much in this one... Had a little too much caffeine. I blame mountain dew.

My Kirby 64 Review   vizzy900
This will be my 6th review:
The graphics in this game gets a 9 out of 10 ,mainly because it is set a 2D/3D world that is about Kirby.
The sound in this game gets a 8 out of 10 ,due to the Pop Star theme appearing in the Wii U version of Smash Bros. 4 ,espacally the Dreamland 64 stage.
The game's addictiveness also gets a 8 out of 10 ,mostly because of the game's Boss Rush mode ,also being given the 3 files to be able to play the game over again!
The game's story gets a 10 out of 10 , mainly because of the main game tells you that you find those crystal shards in order to take on Zero Two ,the final boss in the game ,and also because of Zero Two possesing Kirby's Friends and while turning them back to normal after defeat!
The depth in this game gets a 7 out of 10 ,because of it's game modes ,there is the Boss Rush i mentioned earlier ,the sound test ,the card collection mode ,and the mini-game mode ,also the ability to delete your game file
The game's difficulty gets a 6 out of 10 ,it is not to easy ,while at the same time ,not to hard ,so the game gets it's fair share!
Overall ,i give Kirby 64 and the crystal shards a 10 out of 10 ,Nintendo did a good job on creating this Kirby game ,and this game gets Nintendo's seal of approval!

they were originally going to have a platforming Kirby game on the gamecube, but was moved on due to time strains and that game is known as today's Kirby returns to dreamland

I find it funny how on Mupen, if you press the spacebar, you can speed up the emulator in all.

They should switch to the latest build of Project64. It doesn't have the graphical issues these two have

I found it, but it just doesn't feel natural, and I can't double click the screen to change the controls...
Uleaveinpieces 09-29-13 - 11:36 PM
I can't find out the attack button...
sevencube3 09-07-13 - 11:13 AM
I think this game is one of the most awkward out of all the N64 games I've played in terms of how the controls feel.
