Despicable Me: Minion Rush Review by: zanderlex - 9/10
Minion! This game is really one of the most unique endless runner games that I have ever played, and it really has so much to it to make it one heck of a fun game. I discovered this game while hearing one of my roommates play it and I thought it sounded pretty cool so eventually I decided to try it out for myself and it turned out to be a good game.
GRAPHICS 8/10
The graphics look really good for a mobile game and in terms of games that fall under this genre, I'd have to say that it could be some of the best. The game is based on an actual movie, and not only that, the movie is animated so transferring all of the graphics from what the movie looked like into a game was easy and it kind of looks just as it would have if this was the movie instead. The game is full of color and my grade for graphics will be an out of 10.
SOUND 8/10
As for sound, it's pretty good, you get to hear the gibberish language of the minions and who doesn't want to hear that and aside for that you have the other various sounds that come out from the lab and a few small music pieces. It's not as good as the graphics in terms of appeal but it helps make the game funny so it's going to be another 8 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS 10/10
There is no reason to believe that the game is not addicitng. The game is a lot of fun because it takes one of the best parts of the fun movie series and turns it into a game. There's a bunch of mini games that you can run through and there's so many different levels with random obstacles and missions for you to plow your way through and really, it never gets boring. There's so much that it could probably take many many hours to get anywhere near beating it and for a grade, addictiveness is going to get a perfect 10 out of 10.
STORY N/A
I'm going to leave story blank here because even though there are a few pieces of a story, such as enemy battles and making jam, there just really isn't enough to go in depth.
DEPTH 10/10
There has to be at least a couple hundred levels in the game, I remember going through and counting up each section and I'm pretty sure there were dozens of sections with at least 10 levels in each one. Just the number of levels alone should be enough to give this a 10, but there's a lot more than levels. Each level comes with it's own unique mission, there's a variety of characters, objects, and pwer ups for you to collect, and there's so much more to the game so my grade for depth has to be beyond perfect.
DIFFICULTY 5
The game can be difficult at times, you might find yourself in a level where the mission is a bit tough and you might have to try it over and over a couple of times before you can get it right, and boss battles can be a real pain but the only way to overcome these obstacles is by not giving up even if it gets to the point where each level takes up about a dozen or so tries. It's easy but not too easy so my grade for difficulty will be a 5.
OVERALL 9/10
Overall this game is really a blast and if you like Endless Runner games such as Temple Run, then I really do suggest that you give this one a try because it's a great way to waste away hours and have fun at the same time. I loved it and my overall grade for this game is going to be a 9 out of 10.
