Quack Shot (Sega Genesis/Megadrive) Review.
An adventure Around the world.
Disney... If you're an adult, then this world should be enough to bring you back some good memories of your childhood. When there wasn't anything to worry. Only you, and the TV. Watching some of their good old cartoons. Oh, and let's not forget about the Movies. Who hasn't watched one of the Disney's old Movies? Like "The Lion King", or "Tarzan", to name a few examples... However, When mentioning Disney, we always remember something. Their Characters... Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and the favorite of many people: Donald Duck. Which is the protagonist of the game I'm reviewing today: Quack Shot, which was released in 1991 for the Sega Genesis (or Sega Mega Drive, if you live outside of the USA.) So, If you're ready, Sit down and enjoy this review!
Story: It's a nice day at Duckburg, and Donald decides to spend part of the day by Visiting his Uncle Scrooge. Once at his house, he decides to take a look at his library. After reading various books, he finds a book which tells the story of the Great Duck Kingdom. One of the chapters of the Book talks about the King Garuzia, which was the ruler of the Kingdom. It also tells, that before he died, he hid his most prized possession on a secret place. Right after reading, a piece of paper falls of the Book. And that paper results to be part of the Map that reveals the location of the Treasure. Donald thinks that if he manages to find it... He'll be richer than his own Uncle! However, one of the Big Bad Pete's henchmen was spying Donald through the window. A few hours later, our protagonist (and his nephews) take flight on a plane, starting the treasure hunt, while being persecuted by Pete. (7/10)
Graphics: Great. The characters and enemies are very well drawn, they also have a good amount of details. Animations are Okay, nothing amazing about these. Backgrounds are... Pretty simple. However, these have good details and a fair coloring (Not very colored, but not very darker at the same time.) (8/10)
Sound: This title counts with good music, every stage has it's own music, which fits the stage's scenery. However, there are some songs that could song a bit out of place. (Like the Boss theme, which tries to sound menacing). SFX is simple, it can be quite annoying if you play this game for the 1st. Time. But eventually you get used to it. (7/10)
Addictiveness: This may be a great game, but it's not very addictive. Once you finish with it, it may pass a long amount of time until you decide to play it again. (6/10)
Depth: Let's see how it's the game's depth: Before playing a stage, the Treasure Map will appear on the screen. Here you must choose the stage you want to go in. Once you've made your choice, you can start playing. Donald's controls are pretty simple, he can jump, duck, and move to the left or right. The only way he can defend himself, is by using his Special Gun. This gun can shoot 3 different kinds of weapon: Plungers. (The main weapon, you can use it to stunt enemies, as long you progress on the game, you can upgrade it and use it to climb walls, or to fly by attaching it to flying objects), Popcorn (which kills enemies) or the Bubblegum. (which is used to kill enemies and blow away certain walls). Once you arrive to a certain point of a stage, Donald will be able to call the plane and go to another stage. However, You will always need to return to the stage. Either to get a new item, or to complete a Puzzle. As long you progress, there will be more stages to visit and complete. (7/10)
Difficulty: If you're good at games, then you shouldn't have any problems at beating this one. Pretty easy (but entertaining) game. (6/10)

Quack Shot is one of those games that doesn't get many attention... Which is pretty sad. This is a good and fun game, definitely worth playing. So, If you have the chance... Play it!

Quack Shot Description: Donald unearths an ancient scroll that reveals a long-lost treasure. Off he dashes on a dangerous expedition! He leaps over cacti, sidesteps scorpions, and slides down slopes to claim the loot before Big Bad Pete can get it. Donald's temperamental tantrums keep the bad guys runnin'! He thonks 'em with his plunger and bounces on the handle to hop over their heads. Then he blasts 'em with gooey bubblegum! Yuck-a-duck! Donald creeps through the evil Count's castle, and plumbs the depths of Aztec ruins. With Huey, Dewey, and Louie's help, he'll find the key to unlock the secret of the most fabulous treasure on earth!
