Gotta... rescue 'em all!   juuldude
Anybody who has ever played the original Pokémon games can tell a lot about them. They have excellent graphics and music while the story sucks as it is always repetitive. But the Mysterie series are very different. The gameplay differs, the game has an actual story, there are more things that make sense, so the series got popular as well. The idea is simple: You form a rescue team with somebody who you just met but in the same time, you have to find out why you became a Pok?mon as you were originally a human! Being a former human also means that you can do and see various things that normal Pokémon can not do, which is why the game is so interesting.
One of my first Nintendo DS games was Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time. I loved that game, and I have almost completed it 100% so after that I decided to try Red Rescue team as it is for the Gameboy Advance. I played it for a few days but stopped with it. I later tried to pick it up and I stopped with it again. But now, I am actually playing it and it is very funny, so that is the reason why I have decided to write this review.
Graphics: 10
I do not have to say a lot for this, it is well known that the graphics in Pokémon games are always excellent. There are animations for the various faces of characters, they have walking designs for each Pokémon, almost every dungeon has a different look, there are just great graphics in every part. Everything is clear and recognizable, water looks like water, lava looks like lava, lapis looks like lapis. For the battle moves there are also little things like tears, scratches, vibrations for moves like growl and so on. There are also many moving things at the background like wind, clouds, water, flowers and so on.
Sound: 8
The music in Pokémon games is also known to be very good and this is no exception. Every place has an unique tune that fits well with the place. In fact, some of the musics were so good that you can hear it back in some of the music from the newer games. There are also little sounds for battle moves, there is this weird sound you hear when you talk with others, when you completed a dungeon and many more. You have musics for when you steal, for when you are in danger, for when you are shocked, for when you have an emotional conversation, you can tell that there is a music for almost everything. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that dungeons sometimes have 'deeper parts' like a place named Mt. Blaze, a mountain that is divided in two parts as you have the mountaint itself and the peak. The peak music is just a remix of the original mountain music and while it sounds cool, I do not like it very much.
Addictiveness: 7
Well, if I have tried this game two times before I got serious with it, it has to be addicting right? It is, you can always pick up with the game and the story, the system is a bit difficult to follow but if you understand it then it is pretty easy and there are many things that keep you playing this, new dungeons, Pokémon to recruit, weird missions with great rewards, finding gummis to improve your IQ or extra sidequests. The main thing that picked me up is the story, as it is one of the few games with one of the strangest, largest and most varying stories ever.
Story: 10
The story of the game is incredibly large. It starts with you answering several questions to determine which Pokémon you are. It also depends on if you are a male or a female. I was the calm male, Mudkip. Then you get to pick a partner, I always go with Treecko. Then you are being waked up by somebody, it turns out to be your partner! You only remember one thing, you were a human! So your partner is confused at first but he likes you when suddenly a Butterfree comes in. She has lost her child because there have been a lot of nature disasters lately. So you and your partner go out to rescue a Caterpie after he got stuck into a forest. When you succeed, the mother will give you a tiny reward and you and your partner decide it would be cool to start a rescue team. Throughout the story, many things happen. Pokémon get abducted, you become a fugitive(!), monsters are being woken up by the nature disasters and many other things. The story sure is crazy and there and there are so many things that the story takes a long while to completely understand.
Depth: 8
This game has more than 30 major dungeons and also extra dungeons for training or just for small sidequests. You can do many things: Doing missions for interesting items, talking with Pokémon at the Pokémon Square, training in the Makuhita Dojo, trying to recruit more Pokémon, collecting money for Friend Areas and other things as well. The game mostly focusses on the dungeons but outside those there is a lot to do as well. You can invest a lot of time in the games, playing it for more than 100 hours is no exception. You can try to recruit every Pokémon which is somewhat easier as you can get all the Pokémon with secret passwords instead of trading but there is also one Pokémon who is so hard to recruit as there is a very difficult way to get one: Kecleon. They usually sell things in dungeons and when you try to steal something they come after you. How longer you walk around, how more of them come. They are incredibly strong and if you want to recruit one you need extra things like hard-to-obtain items so you can get one with a very low chance of success.?
Difficulty: 7
In the beginning you just need to train your Pokémon up if dungeons are too tough or you just bring in an extra team member. A great help in this game are Revive Seeds, seeds that will automatically revive you if you would be defeated by a Pokémon. They are extremely useful against bosses as most of them are overpowered. But later on you have to think about many things. When you get poisoned you have to be very cautious of your HP. IQ skills are very useful as well. All in all, this game can get very tough if you don't train a lot.?
That is it for this review, it took me a long time to write but it was worth it as this is my first review with more than 1000 words! *Cheers*
I hoped you like it and if you have feedback or advice then please reply if you have the time! Have a nice day and until my next review!

A review from a Mystery Dungeon Fan!   iN008
Pokémon mystery dungeon red rescue team
What can I say about this highly praised game series?
Well a lot actually.
The Mystery Dungeon series has always sparked my interest as one of my favorite spin-off games..
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red and Blue were the original two games (only real difference between them are the fact blue
was on the Nintendo DS and was pretty much the same game with a slightly better layout having two screens,)
Since they were practically the same game I'll take what I think about the blue version since it is the one I have fully completed.
Now to start with I highly recommend to go and buy blue version for the DS as it has a friendlier layout and the original mystery dungeons
are far superior than the future ones in my opinion.
Now for the ratings :
Graphics : 10/10
Sound : 8/10
Addictiveness : 10/10
Story : 10/10
Depth : 10/10
Difficulty : 8/10
Graphics : 10/10
If you have nothing nice to say about the graphics I recommend you just leave, since by far the mystery dungeon games have much better graphics than any other spin-off game, the over-world makes you explore with forty-three unique dungeons to conquer and master, each in-game Pokémon sprites are done to perfection, moves and all, and definitely brings out the Pokémon style for each sprite.
Sound : 8/10
Sad to say I am no sound expert but I will have to say this, I love the music from these games! The only reason I refuse to give it a perfect 10/10 is because of the slightly annoying droning sound in the red version. Besides that the in-game music definitely has its own style compared to the soundtracks of the main canon games such as emerald, ruby and so on.
Addictiveness : 10/10
This game is a must play for any real Pokémon enthusiast! I gives a whole new feel to the Pokémon universe as you play as a Pokémon instead of the bog-standard trainer trying to become the very best! So instead you have the urge to perfect your team and become invisible!
As you head from dungeon to dungeon, from mission to mission, the game continues to keep you playing! I'm pretty sure I've spent over a hundred hours playing a single mystery dungeon game!
Story : 10/10
You wake up and are mysterious a Pokémon ( after answering a few questions that picks that Pokémon for you, ) you meet your partner and are sent off by a distressed butterfree whom child has fallen down a crevice! This sets you on an epic journey to find out why you are a Pokémon, eventually ( *spoiler* ) meeting the Pokémon that has been appearing in your dreams! ( *spoiler over* ) And a timely period after that event you finally get to the last boss... ( *spoiler* )  Deoxys ( *spoiler over* ).
Depth : 10/10
With forty-three dungeons to explore you wont be finished any time soon, sometimes the game may feel like it never-ends but that's false... It ends when you want it to as in if you think you've beaten it... *cough* its mere impossible as they are much more completionist actions to do xD, Such as beating the final boss, recruiting every Pokémon, gaining all four statues, beating all the dojo stages and so much more.
Difficulty : 8/10
This is one of the few games that allows you to control the difficulty, you can choose to do the easy missions or the dangerously hard missions for greater rewards, the game literally goes by the bigger risk, larger gain rule.
Overall : 10/10
In conclusion Pokémon mystery dungeon red rescue team is a must play for any fanatic, enthusiast or casual player of Pokémon.
If your up for a challenge I challenge you to get to the end of this game and have fun doing it like I had!
This game is highly deserving of its 10/10 rating, thanks for reading my review :D.
If you have any tips for me and my future reviews pm me or post below thanks!

Love it! Such a classic!   66shadowZ
This is, by far, one of my favorite games. I have loved every MD series game that has been released (not that there's been very many). They always have amazing story lines, great depth, and just plain awesome. Anyone who likes Good story's and games that offer a lot, even after you beat the game, this is the game for you!
Graphics: 7  There's pretty decent animation in this game. It's about as good as its going to get for that time period. What do you expect, HD?
Sound: 10  Sound, why should sound matter? I don't hardly ever listen to the sound. Even when I play games on my DS, I listen to music instead of the game sounds (wish you can do that on vizzed X[   ) So ill just give it a 10, because I DID listen to the sounds when I was younger.
Addictive: 10  This game provides hours and hours of expansive playtime. With side missions, an expansive storyline and postgame, you can play for hours and never grow tired of it. It's very easy to get wrapped up in the deep storyline, which is surprising for a Pokemon game.
**^I Edited the above paragraph since it was quite repetitive**
Story: 10  If your looking for a good story, this is the game for you! This game has the best story of any Pokémon game ever! It doesn't have cheesy lines about friendship and caring for your Pokémon. It's much more developed. This game will make you cry. Make you laugh. Make you smile. I promise, this game will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Depth: 10  If the main story isn't enough, you've got the Post story! The story is pretty long itself, then you get into the fun part. Many things will be unlocked, accessible, etc., so when the credits roll, don't frown! There's still a bunch more to the game! Loads more quests, battling techniques, and loads, loads, and loads more!
Difficulty: 5 All games have a certain level of difficulty. All games have super hard parts where you just want to quit, and super easy parts where you can just breeze through. So, expect annoying, frustrating, "wanting to throw your computer, ds, tablet, etc. across the room" moments. There has to be. Why? It's so the game doesn't get old and dried up. Some people might just stop playing if you just breeze right through. Then it's no fun! BUT a super hard game where you get stuck every five seconds isn't fun either. You have to find that PERFECT balance, and this game definitely has it.
Wrapping things up: If you haven't noticed yet, I'm a MAJOR fan of the Mystery Dungeon games, bit more specifically, I'm a fan of this one game, Red rescue team. I am currently doing a play through of it, and am still excited and thrilled like I was when I first started playing the game. So please, Enjoy!

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team   tj4bigred
Red Rescue team is my favorite spin-off game, period. I love Ranger, Pinball, TCG, and I LOVE Trozei, but the mystery dungeon series were in a league of their own. I remember reading about it months in advance in Nintendo Power, and attempting to comprehend the fancy "Blast seeds" and "Warp Orbs". Nothing made sense at first, but I was hooked immediately on the Mystery Dungeon manga in Nintendo Power. Through six months and probably about 100 pages of manga, Nintendo Power published the storyline of this new Pokemon game, and it all clicked for me. I have to get this game... I was going to get to BE a Pokemon. Oh I saved and I saved, and I remember the day I went to buy it. Crisp autumn day, school had just started up again, and my best friend Aaron and I were playing on the playground pretending to be Treeko and Mudkip in a dungeon. We had called each other a lot that summer and were both highly anticipating the game which we were to buy that night. We went to Target, and emptied our pockets, but we left the store with two copies of Red Rescue Team. I was not disappointed upon going home. When I used Tackle on a Sunkern and for the first time ever knew that it was ME, the Pokemon, using Tackle, I had a sense of euphoria. I have insane amounts of nostalgia for that game, and remember talking to Aaron after a soccer game several days later about evil Skarmory and how cool Alakazam was. That game makes me think of my childhood so much and I spent so much time on it. I really should stop rambling, because if I don't I'll have to stop my review and go find that game, because it really meant a lot to me.
In case you have never played any of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, the basic concept is to complete missions, such as rescuing a Pokemon from floor 6 of a certain cave and finding items that Pokemon had lost at "around" the fourth floor of another. The missions could range in difficulty from rescuing a Bellsprout from the third floor of Tiny Woods to escorting a level 1 Wurmple to the 94th floor of Western Cave. To do these things, you need to be a rescue team. As you start a New Game, you will be asked to take a personality quiz. The questions can be serious ("A hard worker?") to insane ("A hand reaches out from a toilet. What do you do?"), and then ask you for your gender. This will determine your nature. Depending on your nature and gender, you will become a certain Pokemon and be asked to choose a partner. You then wake up in a forest, Tiny Woods that is. You have to go rescue a Caterpie, the easiest Possible mission you can imagine. Battle some Pokemon, reach the stairs, rinse repeat. It may sound monotonous, but it becomes addicting immediately. Once you reach the 3rd floor, you'll rescue the Caterpie, and go bunk with your partner for a night, at least until you figure out why the heck you are a Pokemon. It turns into your Pokemon being asked if you wish to start up a rescue team. You're not allowed to answer no, so you accept! Thus begins the grand adventure, through meanies, accusations, exiles, and an apocalypse only YOU can stop.
The graphics of this game are cool, because every Pokemon not only has a sprite, but also a face sprite, with all the starters having different expressions. I love the look on Charmander's face as he's thinking. It's a face of great concentration and I love it. Every dungeon is unique, and there are some really cool art drawings that are on the main menu every time you load up the game. All in all, I really love the beauty of this game, and the way it all comes together.
I love the music of this game. Maybe it's because of how often I played that game, and how devoted I was, but the music is ingrained in my head. I can't type out the music, but listen to this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQSY4JlI_Uk
Pretty good stuff eh? It's catchy and sticks in your head if you've spent half as much time on this game as I have.
For me, because every time you enter a dungeon it's different, you never know what to expect every floor or every room. You never know when a Monster House is gonna pop up, and boom! you just might die. Recruiting Pokemon is a combination of math and luck, similar to catching with Pokeballs, so when you finally recruit a legendary after battlingit 15 times, the feeling of triumph is like no other.
The story of the is a nice change from the typical, obviously evil team. It has a twist right in the middle that got me when I first played the game. I really love the game's story, and even after the credits roll, the story continues with a great post-game.
Depth... This game has more depth than you could ever imagine. For one, all 386 Pokemon can be recruited or obtained through other means within the game, meaning that you definitely get a lot of game play from just that. There are also over 20 Bosses to battle, and plenty of legendaries. Even if you recruit all the Pokemon and defeat all bosses and clear all dungeons, you can still complete rescue missions to try to boost your rank all the way to Lucario rank. That would be some serious dedication and anybody posts a screenshot of them at Lucario rank has my utmost respect.
Another thing I didn't mention was the fact that truthfully, Mystery Dungeon was the first worldwide online Pokemon game. You could post rescue codes online for when you faint in a dungeon and someone will send you the A-OK code within an hour. It was a great system, and worked great in conjunction with the internet.
This game is great, with a cool idea, an addicting way of presenting it, and the fact that it's Pokemon makes it so much better. This game is just awesome.

'Furret's PMD Red Rescue Team Review'   Furret
Alright, keep in mind that this is my first review and it might not be so great. With that said, enjoy!
First, why this game? Well, this game has always been special to me, I'm a big PMD fan and thus love the games of the PMD franchise. This game started them all, and it did a great job at it. I'm happy that it's for the GBA, so that we, the Vizzed members, can all enjoy this wonderful game. It changed the RPG concept of Pokemon and put in a whole different genre, I must say: 'Bravo Nintendo, you did a great job'
Graphics:  9/10. This game has amazing graphics, which is not something you can say for lots of the GBA games. The cut-scenes are amazing, nice effects and overall fun to watch. I agree that some of the sprites, etc. look a bit strange, but hey, what can you say?
Sound: 10/10. Alright, not much to say, other then perfection. The quality of the songs and the sounds is extremely high, almost extreme. Some songs are addictive, others are sad and what makes them so special, is that you feel the emotion your character(s) feel. First time I played this I really chattered into tears when 'Goodbye' started. The music really leaves you think. That is why I find that PMD breaks all the records of any video game with music and sound.
Addictiveness: 10/10. This game, like many others, is very addictive. With such an amazing concept, how can you not love to play it day after day? I do, at least. It takes a while sometimes to make the story progress, which is why you want to keep playing. It's also addictive in other ways. Trying to finally get the starter you want, trying to recruit a pokemon for your team, and many more. I love every bit of it.
Story: 10/10. Another point where this game really shines. The whole idea of turning from a human into a pokemon, finding a new best friend, experiencing a different world, ... The many parts fit together perfectly. The bad guys, the good ones, the amazing characters and their personality's (Gengar, Gardevoir, Caterpie and Metapod,...) and many more. I always have the feeling that I feel how my character feels, which not many games do. Once again, nearly perfection.
Depth: 10/10. The game has a good and long size. The first time I played through it, I thought that the after game was gonna be short and boring, boy was I wrong. It takes lots of time to beat all the dungeons this game has to offer, which I really respect. The game also has many ways you can go, it's not just straight forward.
Difficulty: 8/10. The final part to talk about. The game has a smooth and at sometimes extreme difficulty level. At some points I feel I'm over leveled, while at others I feel like a level 2 in a garden of level 100's. I also like how you can control the difficulty yourself, choosing hard or easy missions.
FunnyFurret's rating: 9.8/10 overall.
That wraps up my first review, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did making it. If you have suggestions, please don't be afraid to tell me. If you didn't like a part, also tell me so I can work on it. This is definitely not my last one, stay tuned! ~FunnyFurret

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team Review   tgags123
Overall (9.8)
Overall, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team is a very fun game. It is a lot different than the main Pokemon games. In the regular Pokemon games, you are a trainer that travels the world catching and training Pokemon to beat the gyms and the Pokemon League. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is completely different. I'll go into more detail later.
Graphics (8)
The graphics in this game aren't anything special. They aren't bad, they just aren't exceptionally good. It looks just like any other Game Boy Advance game does.
Sound: (8)
Much like the graphics, the sound isn't outstanding either. I like the music and sound effects, they're just not "blow you away" good.
Addictiveness (10)
This game is so addictive I wouldn't be surprised if traces of nicotine were found in the game cartridges. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. It is very addictive though. You'll never want to stop playing. I used to play 24/7 on my Game Boy. It's probably the most addicting game Nintendo has ever made. The frustration of losing just makes you want to play more.
Story (10)
As I was saying earlier, the story is much different than the regular Pokemon games. You are a human, but you turn into a Pokemon. You start having weird dreams. You don't know how or why you were turned into a Pokemon. You start a Rescue Team with you're partner, and go on a lot of missions. I don't want to give anything away, but the story gets really good. This game has a better story than a lot of books and movies that I've seen / read. It is probably my favorite story of any video game.
Depth (10)
There is so much to do in this game. Apart from the main story, you can also save people in dungeons that you've already been to. Even when the story ends, the game doesn't. There is always something to do. You can revisit dungeons, try to get new Pokemon to join your Rescue Team, and save people that send you letters in the mail.
Difficulty (10)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team is a very difficult game. It would take me weeks, sometimes months, to get past one dungeon. I would get so frustrated because of how hard it was. But I would always come back to play more. What makes it difficult is that some of the dungeons have a ton of floors filled with really tough Pokemon - and you only have 20 items to get through the whole thing. Here's a hint: before you go into a tough dungeon, stock up on Reviver Seeds. You'll need them.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team is a very fun, though very difficult, game that I strongly recommend playing. I think it's really cool that the Pokemon you are is based off of your personality. It has an incredible storyline and there is always something to do. You will get mad at times or think that it's impossible, but after a lot of trys (and a lot of Reviver Seeds) you will be able to beat it.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (Red Rescue Team) Review   SmobblePants
~Pokémon Mystery Dungeon~
This was a weird yet a blast into my face of a Pokémon game. I've never had purchased or owned this game in my life. But I really enjoyed this game, I never know until now there was a game where you would become a Pokémon! I believe there is also another one, but I have not checked yet. Becoming a Pokémon without knowing who you are, and having strange dreams and nightmares is awesome. I would love to become a Pokémon. The test at the beginning is cool, because it tells what Pokémon you would likely be. I became a Mud kips <3 my favorite water type Pokémon. Enjoy this exiting amazing wonderful Pokémon game! I know I have enjoyed it a lot :)
Overall is a nine . Five: I extremely enjoyed fighting and beating the l Legendary in this game. Just been a small want-a-be Pokémon does not mean you have a dream. Team Meanie is a Meanie!~ Plus their team name stinks.... pew you!
Graphics is nine:  Its a good score the only set back between it is when the bad Pokémon was sideways it looked a flash fail game. Like Weedile its side was thin and small... I didn't like it at all, but if they do ever make a remake I hope they fixed that problem.
Sound is a nine: I didn't know sound was going to be good but I enjoyed it, I even sung to the tone. Sound is the best inside this game, how it changes when something bad or good happens. I think others have even enjoyed the tones in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.
Addictiveness is a seven: Not very a come back game, once you beat a lot of missions on the bulletin board you just have you wait for mail or try to train up. Also in this game your team members go away and fights Pokémon. That set me back a lot so I have to change their tactics a bit. Once I got off of the game I didn't feel like coming back to the game even though its a game where you become a Pokémon.
Story is a home run to a ten: Story was the greatest biggest thing inside this game, after you do a little mission maybe a Pokémon in need of help comes to YOU and asks you to help. I call this a big mission, because its harder and more bad Pokémon are waiting to battle you. Also if your lucky some Pokémon you battle ask to join your team, I really liked that part in the team.
Depth is a hole in run ten: This game does offer a big huge map of places and Pokémon team members homes. I think there is about 15 to 20 floors on every single map. I also think there is other missions from Pokémon in the vilggie.
Difficulty is a eight: This game was hard to play, you had to set moves, throw seeds or orbs, also eat. A big huge importance to the game. Only if your bag could be bigger, but that's when a storage place comes in part of the game.
I know this review is small, but I know I've done more then others. I would also like to know what starter you gotten when playing this game. I hoped other and new comers to this game enjoyed it like I have, also I hoped you enjoy my review, as long of my other threads. Great good-bye ~SmobblePants

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team Review by TornadoMudkip   TornadoMudkip
Here another Review of me! (I'm happy today) Please enjoy! :)
This time it's Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team!
Start: The basic of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team is that the protagonist has turned into a Pokémon, then you meet your Partner and together you do so many adventures!
First the Graphics: They're super!
All Pokémon have an awesome look! They look like 3D Pokémon, I like that because, it's looking more fun then 2D
The Dungeons and Pokémon Square too, I like all the colours that are used!
Also if you walk in Water, it's really looking that you're stepping on Water! That's amazing!
I'll give a 10!
Second the Sound: I love the Sounds!
The quality of the sounds is high because there's a lot of Emotion in the Sounds! (Like Sad and Happy moments!)
My favorite song/sound is the Sky Tower! I love the tune, it has a Calm and Nice sound!
I like it that Game Music has a lot of Emotion! I'll give a 10!
Third the Addictiveness: I love it to play this Game over and over again!
You can recruit a lot of Pokémon in your Team! The Pokémon (Main and Partner) are Member of your Team! < You can recruit the Pokémon that you're too even if you already have them! That's so cool! < With more members in your Team, how more fun this Game is!
And there are a lot of Dungeons to beat, even ones with 99 floors! < That's cool too! Why? It keeps you trying to beat it!
This Game keeps you playing because there is a lot to do! I'll give a 9!
Fourth the Story: The Story is the most amazing of all because it has good and bad things in it!
There are good Pokémon like Caterpie and Metapod
There are also bad Pokémon like Gengar
All of the Parts fit together perfectly, that's making a good Story! (All sad and good things)
And you are the Human, that's interesting because you're Transformed into a Pokémon! So cool!
It deserves a 10!
Fifth the Depth: This Game has a lot to do! Like a lot of Dungeons and Missions to Complete
The only sad thing is that Story Mode isn't really long (After Rayquaza Story Mode Ends)
But if you Completed the Game, There are still Dungeons and more is a lot to do!
This Game has many ways, you can choose your own!
That's making the Game fun! I'll give 9
Sixth Difficulty: Well the Game is hard to beat!
At some points are the Dungeon hard because your Level isn't high (Like in Sinister Forest)
It took me very long to beat Sinister Forest! Just train very much! Why? Then is the Game more fun and easier!
And sometimes you're in a easy Dungeon like Tiny Woods (Then you feel to strong!)
And if you don't give up, you'll complete every Dungeon that you want!
At all this Game has hard Dungeons, that's making this Game fun because if this Game was to easy, this Game isn't fun anymore!
I'll give a 8
Overall: This Game is Super fun!
This Game enjoyed me a lot (I'm a Mudkip and my Partner is a Treecko)
This Game is a Challenge to beat it!
But if you're looking for fun, you must play this Game!
It's Amazing!!!! It deserves a 9.6!
This was my 4th Review, I hope you liked it! :D

Pokémon mystery dungeon - red rescue team is one of my best favorite games of all time .. After I started and loaded the emulator in this site , I didn't read the questions at all .. Because I am not really good in answer questions about my self .. (he he he) After that questions been answered , I got a cyndaquil as my character , and I picked a mudkip as my partner and side kick ..

Difficulty Category :
Rating : 8 / 10
Reason :
- The game is so difficult when you encounter a pokemon that causes poison .. Because when your pokemon  ( ever your partner ) is poisoned it will lose life every 2 - 4 steps you take ..
-The boss battles are so hard when you are in a type disadvantage..
-And you can only evolve your pokemon after you beat the legendary Rayquaza ...
-Last thing , when you lose to a floor or a battle you will lose all of your money in hand .. Or the money you are holding ..
-The last thing that makes this difficult is your hunger .. When your hungry you loses life every time you walk too ..
-If you think you have some ideas that belong to this category you can post at this thread ..
-You can easily capture a legendary enemy .. You have to be patient to do this .. And also , you have to get a strong pokemon .
Depth Category :
Rating : 9 / 10
Reasons :
-I've spent a very long time before i can finish this game , mainly because of my partner dying . You can spend about 10 - 20 hours without stopping to finish this game.
-If you still have some more ideas about this category you can post again in this thread ..
Addictiveness Category :
Rating : 5 / 10
Reasons :
-I am not going to spend another 20 hours for this game .
-I don't want to answer the questions all over again ..
Story Category :
Rating : 8 / 10
Reasons :
-The story is well-written.
-You have a rescue team rival too .. I think your rival is Alakazam's team
-You have a gang enemy too .. That gang is Gengar's gang ..
Sounds Category :
Rating : 8 / 10
Reasons :
-I muted the sound directly from my laptop ..
-So I just scored 1 ..
Graphics Category :
Rating : 9 / 10
Reasons :
-If you compared the graphics from this game and other pokemon games .. I'd say that there are better graphics in pokemon mystery dungeon : red rescue team ..
-Another factor is new tiles .. Even though the tiles in the first floor is same as the 2nd and 3rd floor , same as other floors ( Depends on the dungeon you are in )
Overall Rating : 8.8
Good Reasons :
-Because there will be no mission shortage
-The best time waster ..
-The story ,depth ,difficulty ,etc. is great . ( Sounds Not Included )
Bad Reasons :
- The game have nothing to do with the over world except for stores ,Dojo thingy and dungeons ..
- For a newbie in pokemon , this game is not the best game for them to start playing .. They should first play Pokemon fire red or other pokemon Roll Playing Game .. And study the pokedex to know what is the best pokemon to use ..
Final Thoughts :
I think this is a great game for pokemon masters all over the world . But it is not a good idea if a pokemon newbie to play this .. But I think the game is good ..

A Pokemon Spinoff with more story then the main pokemon games   Redjoker234
I was summer school 6th grade
I always decorate my desk one item was a sasuke card I got from a jump magazine from the library
then a kid offer to trade my the Red rescue team game for it
I'm like (in my mind) Dude are you stupid?
I said sure.
I never regret that choice ever because damn  this game is great. (plus I didn't play the naruto card game, I thought it looked cool was all)
Graphic:8
They are just what you expect 16-bit Pokémon but the art style is great for the time all Pokémon move they all have idle motions. But all the dungeons are well design and definitely don't feel like reskins like some other games do. And some dungeons have well designed entrances and you can see all the curves of the mountain or the sky and their clouds.
Sound:9
All the music is great and suits all the situations you encounter or are involved in. Whether is good bad sad or just scary. Can I beat them, Will I survive this, I don't want die, even why did this have to happen..why.And many many more.. What makes this all the more surprising is that this is a GBA game. There's not that many GBA games I can imagine with such great music and sound effects. There's the music of "Sky tower" that gives a feeling of traversing the heavens why..I cant answer its a spoiler. And "Thunder wave cave" which the music was almost as I imagined it, if electric and techno had a baby. And after every mission you return to your home base with well as you guess call "rescue team base" a lovely melody like waking up well rest and the felling of its going to be a great day today.
Addictiveness:9
this game will have you play it like crazy for so many reason such as the amount of recruitable Pokémon the areas to explore or even the journey to progress the story
All Pokémon are catchable....ALL of them. Do in really have to say anything else beside that you need to own a location that has to be bought from a store first before having a chance to catch em, But Still all Gen one to Gen 3 Pokémon are obtainable.you will go back to get the Pokémon you didn't get or revisit them to get the Pokémon you couldn't obtain the one before.
Story: 9
The story is so Simple. You wake up and what the heck you woke up as a Pokémon (depends on your questionnaire answer) and you meet a another Pokémon who become your partner (who you get to choose what Pokémon he/she is). Problem and natural disasters are occurring in the Pokémon world but why is that why is the world and nature in an unbalanced state. Soon you form a team with for partner and span across many adventures. Yet as you progress it slow evolves into a game that was simple into a game so complex yet easy for even me young child(at the time) was at the strong bond you the playable protagonist and your partner Pokémon forge.
Depth:10
This game offers so much to do many dungeons to explore. The plot rich game. The power to recruit all Gen 1 to Gen 3 Pokémon. And offer challenging mission for hardcore strategists. All Pokémon level up and learn moves and every move has different range and power. TM's to teach Pokémon.
Difficulty 7
So why addictiveness a 7 as much fun as the game is I However wont deny that you will find yourself stuck as some dungeons that have to be completed to progress. And will be annoying to grind to beat the bosses. However if you aren't in a rush to complete the story at every opportunity you wont struggle alot but will still feel angry sometimes. But there is much more to due after the game has been completed. Now if you want a challenge then boy they do have it. They are 99 floor dungeons such as western cave home to...Mewtwo. Wish cave which reduces your level to 1 with nothing beside you and your partner and at the end you will get one ...wish.  And there is a system called as hunger. If you don't eat and it reaches 0 you lose health per step so those dungeons really make you think and make every step count. Also the most scariest situation that can happen that will make you say "well I'm screwed" known as Monster House but you have to see it for yourself.
There are mission think of it like naruto missions except E to S to star to Triple Star. Escort missions are the most painful which count as a auto failure if they die, doesn't help that they are level 5 in a dungeon filled with level 50 Pokémon

Review: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team   MisakiMei
You all know the Pokémon game series, where you have to catch a lot of monsters called Pokémon so you can win certain tournaments and stuff like that, am I right? In the contrary, we have one of the first spin-offs of Pokémon, entitled Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. It has been released as an edition for the Gameboy Advance, the red edition, and as an edition for the Nintendo DS, the blue edition, although the game is the same in both editions. But the main questions that one could ask, especially as a die hard Pokémon-fan, are for example "Is it worth to be called a Pokémon game?", "How much different is it in contrary to the other Pokémon games?" or "Does it also make fun to play this game?" We will find the answers to these questions during this review.
First of all, let us take a look at the graphics. Well, there is not much to say about the graphics... why? Because the graphics are very well done and very detailed. Every single Pokémon has his own movements and looks different (there are over 400 Pokémon's after all, so there is a lot of diversity!), the areas, the attacks, the buildings, the environment... everything has a lot of details, everything has a unique appearance. One can see that the creators focused a lot at the graphics so that they look so well. I can only give a 10 out of 10 for the graphics because of all the details and how much effort has been put into it.
Then there is the sound of the game. There are a lot of different sounds for different causes, like sounds for attacks etc. All of them fit to the cause they have been put into, but the sounds are not somehow outstanding. You won't be able to hear any unique voices, too. The music also fits to each situation during the game. Sometimes there are also some catchy tunes which you want to hum along and which you can get an earworm. I will give 8 out of 10 points for the sound, it fits well to the game, but it is nothing that memorable like the graphics.
How addictive is this game? Oh this game is very very very addictive! There is a lot to do in this game, like recruiting all the Pokémon. But in contrary to the usual Pokémon games, it has a very new feel, because of the combination of game genres like dungeon crawler and RPG. I really got addicted to this game, because there is so much to do in this game, so I will definitely give 10 out of 10 for the addictiveness.
Now we will talk about the story. The story is very very different then the usual story in Pokémon games, which is mostly just becoming the very best, like no one ever was. You wake up as a Pokémon, having no idea what happened. Another Pokémon, which will be your partner and best friend during the main story, finds you while you slept somewhere in the depths of the world which is unknown to you. Friendship is a very big topic during the story, and it has been well converted how important friendship, but I have to say that the story also reminds me of Shounen Animes like D. Gray-Man where friendship is very important, so I will give 9 out of 10, therefore that it's well converted.
And then there also is the depth of the game. Well like I said before, this game offers a lot: a new feeling, a completely different story, a lot of missions to do... It definitely takes a while to finish this game completely. I will give 10 points out of 10 because of this wide variety of things which you can do in this game.
At last, we have to talk about the difficulty. The controls are pretty easy, you can learn them pretty quickly. But therefore, you can choose if you want do difficult missions or easy ones, because each dungeon is more difficult than the other one (some dungeons have 99 floors!). After you finished the main story, it's in your hand how difficult you want to play the game furthermore. (although you get more rewards if you do the more difficult missions...)
The scores:
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 8/10
Addictiveness: 10/10
Story: 9/10
Depth: 10/10
Overall: 47/50
9,4/10
So if you want the answers to the questions one could ask, here you go:
It is definitely worth to be called a Pokémon game, because it still has the Pokémon trademarks, but it is also a revolution of the old Pokémon playing style, in a good way.
It is completely different to the previous Pokémon games, combining the Pokémon trademarks with some new elements, like the dungeons or the missions.
It makes a lot of fun to play this game! There is so much to do, one gets easily addicted to the game... so as a result, we have a great game which should be not just played by die hard Pokémon fans!
So this has been my first review, thank you very much for reading, hope you enjoyed it :) If you have any tips what I could do better, please tell me ^o^

A Nice Starting Point for the Mystery Dungeon Series   name543
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is quite a strange series compared to the normal Pokemon games you might be used to. One of the first things that people tend to notice about it is the idea of the spin off in general. You control Pokemon. You're not a trainer who trains Pokemon to use in battle. You're simply a Pokemon that has adventures and battles by yourself. This is what interested a lot of people to try this game. So, how does it compare when you play through it? Well, I always loved this game when I was younger and I'm glad to say little of the charm has wore off. This is my review of the first of the series, Red Rescue Team.
Graphics:Pokemon Mystery Dungeon has quite nice graphics for a Gameboy Advanced game. It all comes down to preference though. The areas you explore are bright and colorful, and each Pokemon looks the way it should. This is definitely impressive to look at, seeing it's on the GBA and the Pokemon models are largely 3d when you see them in the dungeons. This helps make the world more fun to go through. One problem I have with the graphics though is how much the same some dungeons might end up looking over time. Sure there are many that are clearly different and can easily be told apart, but some seem to be more generic and easily blend in to the crowd when compared. The animations also aren't that impressive, with most Pokemon just having a few animations each. There is also the lack of detail on most of the sprites that you see throughout the game. None of this should bother you too much though, as the vivid colors and dungeons that do stand out are far more noticeable to the small flaws. I give the graphics an eight. They look nice and the legendaries you see are pretty impressive. Though some details weren't added in.
Sound:The sounds that Red Rescue Team offers are pretty nice in most parts of the game. The music is catchy for the most part and some dungeon themes are pretty easy to remember just by how much you can enjoy them. The attacks also sound nice, with different attacks making different noises when they hit, such as the scorching sound when a fire attack hits anything. Like many Game Boy Advanced games, there's no voice acting at all. So voices don't need to be taken into account when judging the sounds of this game. There's not much else to say for the sounds really except the fact that the music is really catchy as said before. Some tracks can actually match or be better than the sounds in the Pokemon main series. The rest of the sound affects work also, being good enough to make it decent in the sound department. The sound gets a seven, for having good music and sound affects but not having much else to really woo players.
Addictiveness:The main series of Pokemon tends to be very addictive, having plenty of reason to come back and play through. The question should be asked though if Red Rescue Team manages to live up to this and have as much reason to go back through as the original series. The good news about that is that it does have plenty reason for repeat playthroughs. This mostly owes to the fact of your ability to choose a different player character and partner. Each combination might cause different dungeons to be gone through differently. Some groups can easily go through a dungeon, while others need to be more careful and try to be cautious during the adventure. These combinations act like starter Pokemon, each one providing a different experience through the main journey. There's also the list of recruitable Pokemon that make the dungeons different. Really, most of the addictiveness comes from how different repeated playthroughs can be. Though there is also the simple combat adding in. You choose to either use a standard attack, or a move. This means you'll be able to pick it up and play at any time. The game gets a nine for addictiveness. This is for having many Pokemon that can join you and make the experience fun to try again, plus the simple combat to make it easy to play it at any time.
Story:Many people were disappointed with the story of Pokemon games around the time that Red Rescue Team had come out. They mostly boiled down to going after the evil group and beating the league at the end. This tended to be all the story had to offer to keep you playing through the Pokemon series. I have to admit that this game easily surpassed them in some aspects. The story starts with you being waken up in a forest by the partner Pokemon you chose. It turns out you were once a human, who became the Pokemon you got from the personality quiz you were given. You speak for a few moments before a Butterfree flies over and mentions that her child was in trouble and you both rush off to help. The mission ends with the child safe and your partner asking you to form a rescue team. Of course this option is one way in true rpg fashion. Say no as long as you want, but you're not going to be continuing the game until you say yes. The story continues far past this and adds in it's fair share of twists and turns. The main game even ends on a rather emotional note, followed by plenty more story in the post game. The story overall is very good, and has plenty of side-stories going and characters that may even be interesting. Even that generic villain Gengar manages to become a rather compelling character by the time you've done everything. I give the story an eight overall. It easily manages to surpass the stories of most Pokemon games, plus offers enough side missions to keep you interested longer.
Depth:Red Rescue Team is a pretty large game that can take a while for you to fully finish. This is largely because of the number of dungeons you can go through during the story. The dungeons start off pretty small. Even the dungeon at the end of the main game should take you twenty minutes or less to fully explore. Though this changes after the main game, with 99 floor dungeons becoming more common and most of the dungeons found in the post game having more than the end of game dungeon. This leads to much more time spent in each one. There's also some side objectives, such as finding TM's to get your team members different moves. The Makuhita Dojo is another nice feature. Here you go through small dungeons. Each are two normal floors with a boss battle for the third floor. They start off just offering one element of Pokemon to go against. Later though they pit you up against other Rescue Teams to fight. There's also a small collection element in the game, trying to make your team as large as possible by buying or being awarded the friend areas. This leads to situations like in the normal Pokemon games where you try to catch them all. Legendaries are also fully able to be recruited, with all of them up to Hoenn available. The final thing that adds into the depth is the ranking system of rescue teams. Your team starts off as normal rank and can gain ranks the more missions you do. The ranks go up pretty high, and even surprised me with how high a rank you can eventually become. The depth for the game is a nine, for having plenty to do and being very long if you want to complete all of it.
Difficulty:As a game in the Pokemon series, it's almost a given that the difficulty is going to be something that isn't the same for everyone. Different dungeons provide different challenges depending on your team, and some moves are kind of overpowered when you see the effects they can have on the enemies. I'll start out with the difficulties of the game. If you choose a team that has disadvantages against the current dungeon, you'll really find it difficult to get past the enemies you'll be fighting. Some enemy attacks can hit over longer distances and you'll often by hit by enemies you can't reach depending on your Pokemon. Another problem is the Confuse Ray attack many enemies have. It makes you attack randomly and tends to direct you into hitting your teammates while the enemies continue to gang up on you. Some missions require you to bring a level one Pokemon through the dungeon with you, and at later dungeons almost any attack will easily knock them out. There's the later dungeons that make you save before entering, risking all your items if you lose or leave the dungeon early. The final thing you'll often find difficult is the later dungeons that require a level one Pokemon to enter. You'll be forced down to level one with the current Pokemon you are, and the later ones you'll be up against can be very high levels. This means you'll have a lot of grinding in the dungeon. Don't worry too much though, as you have your own abilities and items to tip the game in your favor. One of the first ones that come to mind are some of the admittedly broken moves. Some like Smokescreen and Attract can stop enemies from touching you for a while. Really, the moves act as a double edged sword, as every overpowered move the enemy uses on you, you can use back on them. Another thing to make the game easier is the ability to link moves. This lets you use up to four moves at the same time. Combining certain moves tend to easily demolish opponents. The items you get will also be of use, including healing and automatic revival items. These are very important, as they let you continue going even after one of your Pokemon should be knocked out. The wide variety of Pokemon you can recruit is the final equalizer, with some Pokemon being good additions if you're having trouble with any certain dungeon. Really, the game mostly has difficulty that challenges your ability to adapt and change the way you play. If you manage to choose your team well and bring the correct items for a dungeon, you'll have a much better time than someone who simply runs through with an underleveled team without many items.
Wrapping up:Red Rescue Team was certainly an interesting spin off to play. It changed the mechanics of the Pokemon series and made a completely new story of the Pokemon being more like humans. It added in nice music and colorful graphics along with full 3d sprites for every playable Pokemon in the game. There was also the depth, which gave plenty to do and might have had enough to do to rival the main Pokemon series. Though there were problems, such as the few overpowered moves, they were all easily made up for by the large amounts of fun and new mechanics the game offered. One of the best parts of it though was the fact it started the Mystery Dungeon series and paved the way for the newer Mystery Dungeon games. That's why I'll still come back to this game occasionally, to have another run through the fun game that started a whole series of spin offs.

Pkmn Mystery Dungeon Red   ignavusd
The Mystery Dungeon series have always been special to me, mainly because it allowed me to effectively BE the Pokemon for once. This whole concept changed how I played Pokemon, and was a welcome distraction from my normal gaming.
The graphics are about as good as other GBA games, and being able to see attack in real-time is cool. However it didn't really pop out to me.
Sound and music was ok, and hearing some sound effects to the moves I used was interesting. Personally I didn't like the music tracks all too much but everyone has their own tastes you know?
This game can be highly replayable for 2 reasons. One is the large amount of starters to choose from, as you get over 10 choices for either gender. The second is that every dungeon has a random floor generator, making it never be the same as last time.
The story I liked, and had a few twists in it to throw me off. Thankfully it wasn't one surprise after another, but the overall plot was sufficient for this game.
The game was a decent length, and having about a dozen dungeons before beating the main plot was enough to keep many occupied. Having several dungeons and legendaries afterwards too helped prolong the game. While it isn't on the scale of lets say Final Fantasy, it is still a pretty long game.
Difficulty, is like all other Pokemon games. Based on the Pokemon you choose and if you choose to train, the game can be difficult or easy. Admittedly Rayquaza at the end is a bit tough if you can't attack it for super-effective, but overall the game is a decent amount of difficulty.

Mystery dungeon is mysterious   Treyevers
This game is very fun. I don't play it a lot! But I do play it most of my time.(when I have time, that is) now I always play as pikachu with a charmander, I don't know why, but I just do, I don't even rename charmander. Me choosing pikachu and charmander started in explorers of the sky on the ds, but I'm not going into that right now. This game is more challenging than explorers of sky though, because I'm stuck on mt.thunder its either me or charmander dies! I like this game because it tests me and kills me....over and over and over....but anyway! This game is good or any Pokémon lover, I mean I'm sure that the Pokémon development team, back then, thought of the player being a Pokémon a lot! But what would be better is if you could play as any Pokémon, yes still do the personality test, and the choosing of your character, but when you become friends with another Pokémon like Zapdos and you wanna play as him! That is in the newer mystery dungeons though, so I should stop ranting. The game shows nice sprites, nice characters, evil characters, enemies, Moves, PP, HP, and almost every basic RPG element as well as Pokémon elements.

Alright, I have did 2 reviews today, this will be the 3rd one I have done. There is not much to say for this review, maybe like 300 for 400 words.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon- Red Rescue Team
Overall - 9
Well, this game is pretty good to me, but I do not like it much compared to pokemon light  platinum. I can't say I am surprised with this game, it is not my favorite...but it is okay...so I will just give it a 9.
Sound- 7
Meh, it was fine. Not my favorite, but still okay. When you are in speed up, it sounds super weird. So I will give it a 7 for now. Not much to say.
Addictiveness- 5
I play it if I need to, but not much anymore. It is not that addicting. I do not have much to say, except for the fact that I am not very amused with this game.
Difficulty - 8
It is hard, I will tell you that. Sure, in the beginning it is easy, but as you advance, the dungeons get longer and harder. In sky tower, you battle Rayquaza, and you will need your pokemon to be around level 60 to beat it. It is crazy when it uses Hyper Beam.
Depth-6
The game is sort of small. It took me around 2 or 3 hours. It may be big, but I am turning old of this game and I think it is short.
Graphics-8
Sort of small, but I think they are good. They are probably my favorite one in the entire game. They were small, but clear. :)
Barathemos : I know this did not have much detail, but I can really tell a lot about ones I like.
Well, this comcludes it.
And I know it is small, but I don't have much to say for this game.

Very Fun!   P0K3M0NG1RL
This game is great! No, it's AWESOME!  Either way, it's really enjoyable! Sure, not as fun as the newer Mystery Dungeons, but still... It's so fun!
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team has quality Game Boy graphics and sound, but that doesn't matter. It's the story that counts! And I usually listen to my own music. It is highly addicting, and not all that hard. It never ends, either! Beat it, get to level 100, get all the Pokémon on your team, and get lots of money and Items! ALL the items, even! That might take a while, though...
This game is for those Pokémon fans who are tired of running in the grass and  leveling up your Pokémon to fight and beat the Elite Four, and would rather BE the Pokémon! The choices for starting Pokémon are Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Pikachu, Meowth, Eevee, Machop, Psyduck, Cubone, Chikorita, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Treeko, Mudkip, Torchick, and Skitty. Quite a lot of Pokémon to be. After you beat the game, you can evolve and play as your partner (Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, Chikorita, Totodile, Cyndaquil, Treeko, Mudkip, or Torchick, not being the same type as you) or any of your other Pokémon partners you recruited during your journey. What's more, you can also go into a dungeon alone!
That's all I'll say for now. Bye!

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team.   Redrunelord
Psychology is a difficult field to master due to how different every human's mind can be, yet there is one irrefutable similarity between most if not all humans: they are creatures of habit. Once a human adapts to a certain environment they are comfortable with, they will stick with it as long as it is adequate. This is largely why franchises are so successful: the person, if they liked what they have seen before, they will likely stick with it unless there is a strong reason to leave it (like a sudden decrease in quality, an unwanted change in direction etc.). Pokémon is no different.
Perhaps that is a huge reason why Pokémon has succeeded; the main games are largely unchanged in their core formula. However, Nintendo have also created a plethora of spin-off games from the main franchise for their consoles, while keeping the main games exclusive to hand held format. For the most part, this remained exactly as such, but one of these spin-off series did find its way onto a handheld: The Mystery Dungeon spin series. However, only one game found its way onto a handheld older than the DS: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team.
The basic premise of Red Rescue Team is that the protagonist has turned into a Pokémon, but they do not know how that has happened. It is something you would see hauled straight out of an Alfred Hitchcock story, and it makes a good transition to a Pokémon game. To complicate matters for the protagonist, it turns out that there is a plethora of natural calamities going on around the time the protagonist appears, causing many Pokémon to get trapped in dungeons, and many more to go wild. Thus, at the encouragement of a Pokémon (of your selection) that finds the player, they create a team to go rescue Pokémon. The player would then proceed through a dungeon that is traversed in a turn-based manner, with every enemy moving a step or attacking after the player does so. This has some similarities to games like chess and dungeons and dragons mixed together, which was a popular “dungeon crawler” format.
Visually, the game is about on par with the second generation of Pokémon, so if the player enjoyed those visuals, then these visuals should not be obstructive. They are repetitive at times, yes, but not obstructive. The perspective is an overhead bird’s eye view, with everything clearly defined with minimal confusion. The closest comparison would have to be a legend of Zelda game like “A Link to the Past” or “The Minish Cap” in how this bird’s eye view is executed. All of the models and sprites are exactly what they need to be: competent, but pretty. In the end, the graphics are subjective but someone who liked previous 2D Nintendo games should not mind these. The audio is in the same department: solid on a technical level, and pleasant. It uses the exact same styling as in the main games, but minor tweaks for the changed circumstances. It is by large subjective, and depending on the listener’s tastes, could easily be very annoying very quickly.
However, the big question is not how pretty this game is, but how it runs. Overall, it runs exactly like virtually any other dungeon crawler with Pokémon elements thrown in. The player would travel around a town to handle their main affairs, including buying supplies, and the player’s home serves as the save point in which the player can choose to save after every dungeon completion. The actual dungeon crawling is standard fare, with the player’s Pokémon being their starting companion, allies they meet along the way, and themselves. That is right…as mention before; the player is an actual Pokémon. What Pokémon the player is depends solely on how they answer certain questions to a personality quiz when they start a new game. This is a very interesting way to determine how the player starts their game. If the player wants a certain Pokémon starting, then they can choose specific answers for specific Pokémon (good guides can be found across the Internet for this). This may prove obtrusive for certain players, but it is quick enough to do. Everything else that could be said is standard fare for dungeon crawlers: turn based system moving across a set grid of sorts defeating enemies along the way and gathering items, with the final goal being rescuing the Pokémon that, well, needs rescuing. The way the player would attack is using the exact moves that Pokémon would traditionally learn them (or with TMs), with items found across the dungeon, (the player could throw an item like a Battle Toad, or eat a berry to attack).
That is the most basic premise as, like with a lot of “dungeon crawlers” there are a lot of game play elements that is nearly impossible to explain in brevity, but all of it is explained in the game, as a sort of tutorial. This is one of those dungeon crawlers that is very friendly to newcomers, unfamiliar with the genre. It would be a huge advantage to understand what Pokémon are, and have a solid knowledge of up to the third generation, but an even larger advantage to the genre. Indeed, the game could be very overwhelming to anyone unfamiliar with the formula of game play that Nintendo implemented. Nintendo’s efforts to assist the player going in are tremendous, but wearisome to players familiar with the game play. Nonetheless, it isn’t as bad as what Nintendo did for the first generation Pokémon game’s remakes.
The game play is, by large, solid and well put together, if a bit confusing. It is one of those games that shouldn’t be described, but played, for the full explanation. The control, specifically in dungeons, is very awkward, particularly at first, but the player would likely grow used to it as time passes. The main awkwardness has to do with moving diagonally, or simply turning around but not moving forward. While intrusive, it should rarely prove a serious problem beyond actually rescuing the Pokémon. To rescue, the player has to face their “target” and press the A button, but their target never stays still and it is very difficult to turn to face them without moving, which often prompts the target to move as well. This can be argued as a legitimate means to add more difficulty, but it can be very annoying, particularly after a long, gruelling dungeon.
The most notable thing about this game is not the game-play though, but the story.
If there could be an Alfred Hitchcock of video game story lines, then this game is a possible contender. It is very careful not to give away too much too early, and slowly builds the story as the player slowly immerses themselves in it. Another Hitchcock trait that is common here is how everything has a double meaning, with a little thought. For instance, one thing that is evident early in the game is that there are other rescue teams (hence why there is a demand for the service your comrade waits for) earning money as they does so. In a way, it could be delved into as a reflection of how humans will react when there is a large supply or demand of something in a free market economy. Sometimes it is done for legitimately helping people, like the player’s comrade believes in, but there is also a huge element in what benefits there are in being a rescue team hero. In a way, the comrade can come off as naive when the player takes into account the grand scheme of things. Yes, it is very easy to assume that the story would be lacklustre, and only tacked on in order to say the game has something that is more cohesive than the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. While there are holes that pop up, particularly with how the knowledge that a rescue‘s necessity makes it to the protagonist’s attention most of the time, it is still very solid.
That is the main term that should be used to describe this game: solid. There are few bugs, particularly with how the emulator doesn’t save in-game properly (though the save state feature overcomes this issue) but they aren’t intrusive. The game is far from flawless, however. It shares two major problems that, ironically, is shared by its first generation influences: repetition, and locked features.
The repetition is derived mainly by that there is little to break the game play up, or divvy it up, especially early in the game. Like the main series, there are some distractions at times, but the style largely stays the same throughout the whole game: go down into the dungeon, traverse it, and try to rescue the Pokémon that more often than not will not stay still so they can be rescued. Depending on the player’s opinion of the genre, this could make or break the game in a heartbeat.
The other major problem is that some Pokémon are 100% impossible to acquire as, like in the main series, they require being traded to be acquired (and as Vizzed do not have multiplayer currently installed, it is more than simply buying a second cartridge and hand held system). It’s a problem that occurs in the regular series, and it found a way to transcend itself into a spin off.
The final verdict, however? If the player enjoys Pokémon, strategy games, role playing games, or simple dungeon crawlers, then yes this is a highly recommended game. If the player is more of a faster paced, fast means to an end type of gamer...then maybe stay away. Between solid visuals, solid game play, and a well constructed story, this is doubtlessly a strong game in the Pokémon franchise. A major advantage this game has is also just the pure and simple diversity there is to possible strategies, with various starters and various starting companions, as well as who is acquired.  Not a difficult game with some practice and training, but depending how it is played it should have sufficient difficulty to enrapture the player. Humans are creatures of habits, and should one look at this game...they will likely stick with it.

A new spin on the Pokemon Story   Dragoon Sword88
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team is the only Mystery Dungeon game that ever made it on the GBA series, while the other were put in the DS series. Although I wish Blue Rescue Team made it on the GBA series too so we could play it here. Besides the point this game is a mixture of RPG, strategy, and dungeon crawler (which is still new to me, even though I played the DS versions). The game has many new elements in it as opposed to the other Pokemon game.
Story: I won't get too much into the story for I don't want to give any spoilers, but it is basically you are turned into a Pokemon (which one you turn into depends on how you answer the personality quiz) and you and you're partner Pokemon (you get to choose which one) try to find out how you got turned into a Pokemon. That is all I'm saying for the story.
Turn System: The mystery Dungeon games have a different turn system from other Pokemon games: You go first, next is your partner Pokemon, then allies, finally enemy Pokemon. So the turn system is a definition of think before you act.
Sound: The sound is a lot smoother as opposed to other Pokemon games so the music on this site won't bother you much.
Addictiveness: The game is very addictive and is fun to play for those who like Pokemon, RPG, strategy, or dungeon crawlers.
The game is some what challenging if you are not prepared especially as the game progresses. Here is a little info I got from chats, you can only evolve after you finish the main story which is rather annoying.
Another thing is that in order to recruit members on your team is to defeat them an get them out of the dungeon with out them fainting. Pokemon will only join you if you have the Friend Area (which Wigglytuff sells) they inhabit, so be sure to have money to buy a lot if you want a lot of members on your team.
The dungeons in the game have specific size limits on how many people you can have on your team which is another annoying thing about the game but allows you to have space to recruit new members.
Items: Tools you use in the game most are based of the previous Pokemon games (Oran berries, Pecha Berries), other are original (Reviver Seeds,Power Bands.
So this game series has many element that set it apart from most Pokemon games and I think fans will love playing this game despite it's few flaws.

The first mystery dungeon. Success   port753
I still have my own red mystery dungeon for my game boy. Hell, I remember playing a demo inside the best buy where they have the game attached to the wall and you try the game out. Just the idea of a mystery dungeon for Pokémon is either a step forward or a step back. The idea is original, and it was a fun new turn rather than beating the rival who's grandfather can't even remember names.
The graphics? They are above average for a game boy. Whenever a character speaks, you get a window of the Pokémon, and some facial expression if they are a common character in the story. You can distinguish the difference between Pokémon if you saw it on the screen so that's a start. The colors are all decent, and you do get an appealing video game.
The sound and music are all great. Some of the themes of maps in the game are catchy and the sound effects are appropriate. Even the sounds of used moves are fitting.
Mystery in my opinion is VERY addicting as the story progresses. I myself find it more fun to play than a regular Pokémon RPG. Every time you enter a map, it is always different. Different items, different enemy Pokémon, different layout.
The story? It is pretty similar with every mystery dungeon. A human turns into a Pokémon (hey I don't understand it either, and it was horribly explained in the DS mystery dungeon), they find a partner to go on their first adventure, they form a rescue team and save the world from legendary Pokémon. There is a major plot difference between the DS and GBA games, but both require only 2 little Pokémon to save the world.
There really isn't much to do besides walk around a map and go on adventures. The thing though is that the fun does happen in a map, but nothing between the adventures.
While exciting and fun, this is a very difficult game to beat. Not only do you have to worry about being defeated by a wild enemy, but there is also the matter of hunger. To make the game more realistic on an adventure, the character must also stay somewhat full, or their hunger diminishes their health. Also while you do regain health with every few steps taken, there are many, many wild Pokémon you may face and the amount of HP you have is similar to the way original Pokémon games work. About 2 or 3 more points with each level, start with a few dozen HP in the beginning. So there could be a dozen wild Pokémon lined up behind you, and the only sure way to lose them is to kill them all. So you will need a few restoration items.
The new concept for Pokémon called "mystery dungeon" is a huge dimension that was created and equally fun. It is full of, well, mystery, danger, and excitement. I do recommend this to you as the next game you are interested in playing.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team Review   Tekky7
Note: Exceptionally long and awesome review ahead!
You know I don't give out tens to just any game.
Not even going to make comparisons. This is
my favorite game on the Game Boy system. Undoubtedly. Probably of
all time. Alright, let's get into it. The game idea itself is
stunning, astounding, amazing, and everything positive in between. I mean, really,
you're a Pokémon for crying out loud! An amazing storyline compliments this epic
piece. You are mysteriously transformed, and you must go on an epic
quest to learn about your past, which has been shrouded in mystery
due to amnesia. You meet your partner in a matter of seconds, and
waste no time in jumping into your first dungeon, Tiny Woods. After
this, you will learn of the natural disasters across the land, and
you and your partner's will to fight for the safety of your fellow
Pokémon. The starter you “choose” is random... if you want it
to be. There's a Personality Test to see what Pokémon you would be
most like. This can be altered, however, as the answers are indeed
online. Easily Google'd. Your partner is chosen by you, however,
and is able to receive a nickname as well. Quite cool indeed. Along
the way, you will meet many Pokémon, from Bulbasaur to Deoxys,
including the legendary Pokémon of all Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn!
Some will look out for you, some will give you rescue missions, and
some... won't be so friendly. Nevertheless, recruitment is still
prevalent (though not with many story characters), as the way to
“collect 'em all”. You purchase friend areas, which is where the
Pokémon you recruit live. A semi-turn based battle system is
introduced. The order is as follows: You, Partner/Team Member, Team
Member, Team Member, Opponent(s). This will allow you the first
strike. The main focus of the game play in this game are the
dungeons. Randomly generated floors allow you to have a fun, or
difficult, time exploring the things that each dungeon has to offer.
New Pokémon appear every few dungeons, providing you with the
opportunity to expand your team very often. The duo of strong
characters that are recruited via the storyline are an enormous help,
and I recommend you use the second Pokémon as soon as you get him
for the entire rest of the storyline. He will come in a great deal
of assistance. The bosses can easily become difficult if you are at
a typing disadvantage or are under leveled. The Pokémon Square is
the town for this game, holding seven locations for shopping,
banking, accepting rescue missions, or storage. The Post-Game is
very lengthy, giving you missions to do for the recruitment of
storyline characters, past bosses, and new dungeons. There is TM's,
as well as HM's, that are collectible throughout the dungeons, as
random items and also as gifts or secret items that require keys.
There is also a Belly Gauge, when it hits zero, you will begin to
lose health each time you move. Annoying for everyone.
Lucario and Munchlax made their appearances here also.  This
game was so well made... I had a great time reviewing it.
If you like, love, or even just enjoy Pokémon, I would buy this game!

Pokemon Red Rescue Team Review; Overall Great Game!   squishywilleatu..
I've always been in love with this game. In my opinion, it would have to be one of the better Pokémon games for the fact that there's just so much going on within the game, and that you were a human before but turned into a Pokémon. And it's a Pokémon based off of your personality and choices. How cool is that! You go on through the game with a partner of you choice to go find out what's happening to the Pokémon world and the two of you(and whatever other Pokémon you may recruit) go on to save the world. You're able to meet multiple different Pokémon and lengendaries, and are even able to recruit the legends after some time. The only thing that I didn't quite like is how long it takes in order for the two main characters to evolve, even though you clearly are past the levels of evolution. But besides that, it's an over all good game and has great game play and graphics for the Gameboy advance.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon red rescue team   deggle
Pokémon gotta befriend them all! You can't Pokémon in this game boo you befriend them but first you need to buy homes for them.
Graphics 8 they weren't really that good I think the original Pokémon games had better graphics I think. But at least it had good qualities in its graphical situation.
Sound 8 the sounding is way better than the original pokemon though i like all the music it fits in really well when you are in a dungeon and the music changes when you enter a different dungeon which i think is really cool that there isn't just one dungeon song you get bored to.
Addictiveness 7 the game was really fun but its a story i wouldn't want to ruin so i could keep it in my memories forever but i would still maybe play it again.
Depth 9 the game's depth is really deep i mean this one your a random child and you have to stop this evil force in the pokemon world i mean come then you have to transform into one then all this other stuff so yeah.
Difficulty 8 this game was really difficult for me because i wasn't used to the system but even when i beat the game twice it was still super challenging so be careful guys.
Story 9 okay the story begins with you taking a test i know tests are mean but this test determines your personality  and tells you what pokemon you will turn into then you can choose a second pokemon to be your best friend in the game. you wake up in this strange place while someone is shouting at you find a pokemon standing asking you questions say your name and they tell you their but all of a sudden a butterfree comes up saying her baby caterpie fell into a hole so you and your partner go to find the poor caterpie you find him and bring him back to his mom she thanks you gives you some usefull items and bids farewell then out of the blue your partner who i will call zan untill i finish this says if want to make a rescue team to help others in need and you agree and he shows you this house and said it's your now. then you wake up the next morning to see zan sleeping on the door step you wake him up and he says he was excited for today and couldn't sleep so he came over but fell asleep anyways. well i think thats enough
Overall score time! 7+8+7+9+9+8=48/6=8.2 i want 8.2

Taking a Break from Catching them All?   SaphThePikachu
Hello Vizzed peoples! Today I'm going to review Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team!! This is pretty much my first review so if their mistakes, tell me, and don't forget to give me other feedback! I hope you enjoy this review, and without any further distractions I will start. Here I go.
First thing I will discuss is....
Graphics!
The graphics aren't bad at all. I love all the sprites and their animations, their really charming. Most Pokémon games have great graphics, but this one has one of the best in my opinion, from the idle sprites and animations from the more "advanced" animations and sprites. They aren't the best in the Pokémon series, though, so I'll just give them an 8.
The next thing I will talk about is...
Sounds!
The sounds definitely aren't bad. I love all the themes! They sound as charming as the animations. The songs are very nice, and I like the soundtrack. Just like the graphics they aren't the best compared to the newest Pokemon games even though they are close. I like the feel the songs give you. A wild Pokemon adventure full of mysteries! And so they earn an 8, also.
The next thing to discuss is...
Addictiveness!
It certainly is addictive, as most Pokemon games will have you playing the game each day, making you eager to catch em' all. I know I haven't played it in a while, but I'll play it a lot. I'll come back after each view weeks and play it again because of it's addictiveness. In my opinion, it's actually more addictive to me than regular Pokemon games because you don't have to really catch em' all. But, rather, rescue them all. It earns a 9 from me!
What's this? Another thing to talk about? The next thing I will talk about is...
Story!
This game is incredibly rich with stories and mysteries! The story is great, and very large. So much to find out! But more information is in the next thing, Depth, so I'll just leave Story with a 9 because of how big the story is.
Depth!
As mentioned before, this game is rich with story and it's big. And the game itself is big too, but it certainly isn't the longest Pokemon game out there. At least, I don't think so! But is large enough to fool us into thinking it is. I wanna stop using the word "rich" and "large," so I'll move on as fast as I can. It offers a bunch, and it takes a lot of time to beat. I know a speedrun that was more than 3 hours long. Phew. I'll give Depth an 8.
Difficulty!
This game really isn't difficult. It's very easy! Sure, some of the battles may be a bit challenging, but it's very easy overall. But that doesn't make it bad! Some levels are very challenging if you haven't played before, but it's very easy to figure them out, no matter how long you are into the game. At least, in my opinion. Some people may find it hard, but I find that pretty hard to believe. But, moving on! I'll give Difficulty a 6. Also, it's very easy to learn the controls.
Overall
Overall, this game is a very decent game with an adventurous and mysterious feel to it. It's very easy to play and the controls and very easy, and the animations and sprites are charming! The game is also very filled with mysteries to solve and big stories! It's a very big game that takes long to beat, but isn't very hard. My overall rating of the game is 8.7! This game certainly wasn't the best of the Pokemon series, but it was one of them.
I hope you enjoyed reading this review! Like I said, this is pretty much my first so tell me any mistakes I made and hopefully I can make longer and more detailed reviews in the future. Goodbye, Vizzed peoples!

Pokemon Red Rescue Team   star4z
Game play: Dungeon Format and Objectives
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team is a dungeon (no, really.) game in which you control a Pokémon in a team with the objective of finding an object, finding a lost Pokémon, escorting a Pokémon to its Pokémon friend, completing the dungeon and defeat the (usually) legendary boss,  or recruit a Pokémon as a team member. You have a maximum of three members in a team. Dungeons range from 3 floors minimum (First dungeon and training levels.) to 99 floors. (Floors may go up or down, but only in one direction.) Playing through dungeons to defeat and hopefully recruit a boss is really fun, but other tasks can be very monotonous. One thing I don’t like about the game, but I still feel that it adds something to the game is traps. They never help you.
Game play: Battling
Fighting is in a style reminiscent of the traditional  Pokémon games, yet distinctly different. You press B to open the menu, and you can choose your moves. However, that isn’t the limit to what you can do. There is a very finite limit to your PP (okay, a normal level,) which means you can’t defeat every enemy with a move in a dungeon. By pressing A, your character attacks the character in the space in front of them. Using gravel rocks, sticks, silver spikes, and iron spikes also inflict damage upon you opponent. Also, moves don’t always do the same thing as they do in the real game. For example, sandstorm hurts all opponents in a room, and flamethrower hurts the next opponent in a straight line.
Art/Graphics
The art of this game is really pretty- it feels cozy when you walk around town, and I feel a longing to walk around south of the fighting dojo to see more of the waterfall. The dungeon textures are pretty good, but as would be expected, they are pretty repetitive.
Sound
The music of this game is pretty good, especially the Title Theme and Town Theme. However, the dungeon songs aren’t as well written.
Addictiveness
This game is pretty addictive, but after the main story, the long 99 floor dungeons can get you off it. Also, sometimes you wish you had a friend to rescue you so that you can continue from where you were.
Story
The main storyline of this game is pretty compelling. You start a rescue team from scratch, are haunted by dreams of a Pokémon from the human world, Gengar is always on your case, and you get exiled. You save the world from destruction, and you help Gengar be reconciled with his former Pokémon. Some of the side quests are compelling, too, like the Latios and Latias story. My favorite moment is when you defeat Rayquaza and he destroys the meteor with hyper beam. And I almost cried at the end when Pikachu was crying because I was returning back to my home world.
Other
This game is huge. Gigantic. It takes well over thirty hours to completely beat all the dungeons and recruit all the legendaries. This game isn’t too difficult, but you have to be careful to bring enough resources.

It's very... very... noglastic.   HakumeixShay
Alright, it's time to review another of my favorites, or otherwise Red Rescue Team~
This game was overall very fun and addictive, it wasn't the best in the looks aspect, since it's kind of hard to determine whats around you or not. I think this game deserves a 9.2/10, because of my opinion in the favor of dungeon crawling and pokemon. This all started when I watched the series on TV, I saw this game, and I wanted it so badly. I had to wait until I came to vizzed to actually play it. Anyway, time for the review.
Overall - 9.2 - As I said, it's a fantastic game but it has it's problems, mostly with dungeon crawling. The problems can kill you on occasion if you're not smart enough, fortunately, I am... I think? So in conclusion, overall is 9.2
Graphics - 9 - Just that .1 away from getting 10, but still, the graphics have it's problems, as in every game, and no one should be complaining about it really, it's how you enjoy the game, not how it looks.
Sound - 5 - I don't really like the music from the game, and others agree with me. The music can get really annoying if you're trying to listen to something else, besides that, it would have gotten a worse score if it weren't for the wonderful reaction sounds, I loved them, actually makes you pay attention to the text boxes, instead of holding down space and spamming z while the characters talk.
Addictiveness - 10 - You wouldn't believe how much time I've spent on this game, not even conversing with the other people on the game, just pressing down space and spamming the A button (I use X for A and Z for B). The variety of missions and the question marks in the info of it grab your attention, and the ranks the way they show them, it makes you want to do the higher ones.
Story - 10 - As far as Story goes, I don't wanna spoil, so I'll just sum it up: You turn into a pokemon to team up with another Pokémon to save the world. The simple yet entertaining plot to every mystery dungeon game.
Depth - 10 - This game can go on forever, literally, forever. You get constant missions after the game and after you get to level 100. There are also unlockables that you can get via doing missions, so that's always helpful.
Difficulty - 8 - SKY TOWER AND GROUDON STAGE, nuff' said. Anyway, I've almost completed this game story wise, but as far as I can tell, the stages just get harder and harder, but they also give you some room by making turn based strategy available.
This was a fun game and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys dungeon crawling, Pokémon, rpgs, or all of the above. ^-^

blue rescue team before the ds came out   theironhide
Ok now its time for my fourth review. And this time the review is about pokemon mystery dungeon: red rescue team. I've played the remake (blue rescue team) before i played this game. I have to say that this game is pretty much the same as blue rescue team. But i have to say that its quite a great game. This game is far from perfect. But its still a very fun, creative and unique game. All of that said, lets get started with the review
Graphics: 9 The graphics really are diffrent to most of the pokemon sprites. Like most of the time the graphics are large and well i think there was long work on them, here the pokemon sprites are small and simple. Sure the legendary pokemon are still quite big. But that is because these are bigger than most of the other pokemon. Overall the graphics are simple but still look good for the gba.
Sound: 9 The sound is accurly done very well. The music is not bad and you can hear how hard the attack came down to your opponents. That is a pretty cool add. The music can be a bit forgetable, but its not bad at all
Addictiveness: 9 This game is pretty addictive. Being a game that started an entire (spin off) series it is accurly a very addictive game. Ever if you defeated Rayquaza you can still continue to add new members and even legendary pokemon to your team. And when you think your members aren't strong enough, you can train them in the Makuhita dojo. Overall a very addictive game.
Story: 10 FINALLY I'M REVIEWING A GAME WITH A STORY! but that isn't the reason why i rated the story a 10. I rated the story a 10 because of the creative design of the story. In this game you are playing as a human who is transformed into a pokemon depending on your own personallity. Like if you are lazy: you're a psyduck, if you're hasty: you're a torchic, if you are brave: you're a machop, and so on there are many pokemon you can be. However back to the story. You don't know why you where turned into a pokemon, but the deeper you are in the story the more you know. Another thing you have to know about the game for this category is the main villan of the game: gengar. Gengar is an evil pokemon who makes trouble and only does rescue missions for a price. I know what you're thinking now and yes: Gengar is a douche. And he also has 2 minnions: Ekans and Meddicham. These two aren't shown as much as Gengar himself, but i couldn't forget them. Gengar even tells the entire square that you're a human and because of that you have to run for your live. You also need to defeat Moltres and Articunno and Absol saves you from Articunno and joines your team (sorry for the spoilers). Overall a very creative and interresting story.
Depth: 7 Besides from the main story there isn't much you can do in this game. You can try to get as much members as possible in your team and there are still coming new areas to explore after defeating Rayquaza. And after defeating Rayquaza you can go to a large jewel to evolve and even become another pokemon (if that pokemon is in your team). And (as mentiont before) you can train in the Makuhita dojo. And you can even save other people who are playing this game (or let them save you). But you need a code of that person to do that on this site. Overall not that much Depth.
Difficulty: 6 This game is not that hard when your pokemon are strong enough. But one thing frustrayted the hell out of me: the hunger of the main character. I really hate this. This does even damage you when its too low. That is just annoying. But the game isn't hard at all.
Overall: 8.6 This is a pretty cool game in my oppinion. I really loved this spin off series as a kid and i still like it today. Not as much as when i was a little kid, but its still likeable

Love This Game!   achyboy777
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Red Rescue Team (or PMDRRT as I will call it in this review) is a superb game that has all you would want in a video game. It is fun, exciting and very addictive.
Graphics - 8/10
You will not see much better graphics on any Game Boy Advance game. They are accurate and precise. Then you my be wondering why I gave it an 8. The reason is that the game was released while the DS was out meaning that you would expect the graphics to be better than most GBA video games.
Sound - 9/10
I normally play the game with the volume on mute however I have just played it with the volume on so I can give it a legitimate rating. I have given it a 9/10 because I was very impressed by the sound. I enjoyed the jolly songs and all the music was right for the situation.
Addictiveness - 10/10
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games are always super addicting, and PMDRRT is no different. Once you start the game and begin to get past a few dungeons, you cannot stop. I found myself getting home and immediately turning the game on and then playing it until I went to bed. I'm sure you will get addicted just as much as I did.
Story 10/10
If you are looking for a good story in a game, then this is the game for you. You have been stranded in a wood with all your memory gone. The only thing you can remember is that you used t be a human. PMDRRT is your journey to find the answers to your hidden past.
Depth - 10/10
Oh my goodness! I cannot think of a better game for depth than this game! The main game takes quite a while to complete in itself but if you think that's the end then you are wrong by far. After the main game, the post game offers more quests, tactics and many, many more.
Difficulty - 7/10
The game is not that difficult, especially with the Reviver Seed however it is not simple and is still decently difficult to complete.
To wrap things up then, this is an amazing game well worth playing. Also the best feature is the fact that at the start you answer some questions and your Pokémon is picked according to your answers. Anyway thanks for reading, please rate so I know your opinion on this review. Thanks again, achyboy777.

The reason I still love Pokemon   Boured
Hello I'm 18mlivingston and this is my first review on this site criticism is appreciated but I will use flames to cook my barbecue
now on to the review you have all be waiting for.
Introduction: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was released for the Gameboy Advance on September, 18, 2006 and was released to fill the two year gap between the next main series Pokémon games now known as Fire Red and Leaf Green I think. There were two games released in that two year gap (or three if you count the other version). The first was Pokémon Trozei and later came the game that was in my opinion one of the greatest games to ever grace us with it's existence. That game would be Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team that was developed by Chunsoft (or Spike Chunsoft as it is known now) this game gave us a game that differed drastically from the main series unlike the main games the game was a dungeon crawler. For those who do not know what a dungeon crawler is it is basically a game where you travel through randomly generated levels until you die or you get to the end of the dungeon. Now that you know the information about the game let me start my review now.
Graphics: The games graphics are fantastic for the GBA most NPC's sprites have very good detail and there animations are nice and fluent. But it is not perfect I will admit that some sprites are a little choppy but that is to be expected from a game where there are over 300 character sprites. Next to talk about the graphics in the maps the maps look nice and have distinguishing characteristics that you cannot forget that easily from the dungeons to the home location I can guarantee that you will remember every dungeon just from looking at it's tileset. Now how is the cutscenes since most of the cutscenes use the regular sprite for the character there is not much to look at in terms of cutscenes but Chunsoft makes the most of it by using the sprites animations to convey their emotions as best as possible. Overall the graphics are great but they are not perfect they lack in a few areas but no game is perfect in terms of graphics so that is why I give the graphics a 8 out of 10.

Sound: Now some of you may be asking "How is the sound?" that is a very simple answer it is amazing and here are the reasons why. If there is one thing a game needs is good music and this game pull this off flawlessly in every regard every song is original and fits with the area. Also it tells you what to feel in a certain situation I'm not going to spoil anything about the story so I won't give you a example you have to witness it for yourself only then will you understand the shear amazing power of the sound. Overall the sound is used to convey emotion and atmosphere and this game pulls this off flawlessly which is why I'm giving the sound a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness: Now "how addicted will I get to this game?" you may ask I can't really answer that for you but I can tell you how addicted I am to this game. This game can be addicting to some but may not to others it all just depends on the players taste in games but if you want my opinion I would say that this game is very addicting. This game knows how to motivate me it provides a challenge that I must overcome and most of the time it is very hard but the feeling of beating it more than makes up for the challenge how would I describe it its kinda like a lesser version of beating 4/20 mode on FNAF. This game will present you with a lot of challenges and will push you to your limits but if you are persistent you will overcome it and the feeling of overcoming it is well worth it knowing that you cleared it and isn't that what a gamer does conquer hard challenges. So overall this game can be addicting to you or not it all depends on how much persistence you have so I'm giving the addictiveness a 5 out of 10.
Story: Now "How is the story that is one of the most important parts of any video game?" that is a short question with a really long answer so let me say it. The story is almost if not better than the main series in every aspect it is probably the most story driven Pokémon game I have ever played in my entire life. The whole premise of the game is that you wake up one day next to a Pokémon who will soon be a partner. You have no memory of who you were other than your name and you two talk for a while getting to know each other then a Pokémon comes along asking for help to find it's child you and your partner go to go rescue the child. After you rescue him and you are rewarded and you go to your soon to be team base because you have no place to stay in this world. You and your partner form a Pokémon Rescue Team which is basically a team of Pokémon that's job is to help other Pokémon in need of help or other kinds of assistance and thus you and your partner are thrusted into a world of adventure and mystery (hah title pun). Now I can't tell you the entire story because that would ruin the experience but trust me this is a game you need to play if your looking for a good story. Overall the story is one of the greatest ones I have seen in a Pokémon game and will hook you if the gameplay does not that is why I'm giving this game a 10 out of 10.
Depth: Now "How Much Content is there and how much is in the post game?" The answer to that is simple there is a decent amount and I will explain this in as much detail as possible without spoiling anything. You see after beating the main story you have access to more dungeon as long as you meet certain requirements and there are even extra stories after that are also triggered when certain requirements are met. But after you do all of those there is not much to do after that and that disappointing me but what are you gonna do at least you beat the game and you can still rescue Pokémon in need so technically the game never ends. So overall there is a decent amount of post game content and extra dungeon that will keep you busy for a while but after you do that there is not much else to so that is why I'm giving the depth a 6 out of 10.
Difficulty: Finally "How is the difficulty is it to hard or easy?" that my friend is a very good question in fact it's not hard or easy it's both. You see the game starts out pretty easy but gradually gets harder till it is really hard then after that it gets easier giving you time to rest before it kicks the difficulty up again. But in the story mode the game is at it's hardest when in the final dungeon everything is on your butt from the very beginning and there is little to no time to rest so I recommend bringing a lot of items with you just in case things get too difficult to handle on you own. Now if you want the hardest dungeon in the game look no further then the Ultimate Dungeon (not really it's name but that is what it is referred as) it is a 99 floor dungeon where you can take no items with you and worst of all you have to start at level 1 so all your stats are reset but don't worry that is only for this dungeon your original stats will return upon exiting the dungeon but this dungeon is not for the faint of heart I haven't even beaten it is that hard. So the difficulty fluctuates between easy and hard until it finally rests on hard and trust me it is hard when it stops so overall I give the difficulty of this game a 6 out of 10.
Conclusion: This game is perfect for a person looking for a Pokémon game that strays from the main series or a person who just wants a good story. This game is the reason I still love Pokémon today and if you are about to stop playing Pokémon play this game before then and see if after you still want to quit playing. So overall this game is fantastic and should be played by fans and non-fans alike this one of the many hidden gems in the GBA library and should not be overlooked so I ask you to give this game a go you may just like it this concludes my review.
So how was it was it good for a first review please tell me :3

A Review of Pokemon Mystery Dundeon: Red Rescue Team   Ro.kerr
Hello everyone, Ro.kerr here! Yes, my next review is on a Pokémon game (which was inevitable lol). Today, I'll be doing a review of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, which is quite possibly the best Pokémon spin-off in my honest opinion. Let's not waste anymore time and jump right into this review, starting off with the sound.
-Graphics-
Whenever it comes to making video game graphics for handheld games, Nintendo always ensures that the graphics are, at minimum, excellent, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team included. Everything ranging from the miniaturization of every move and the animation that goes with it to just simply walking around and observing the idle animations for each character is very detailed. If 2D sprites and "movement" (that's really the only way I can put it) don't bother you when playing in a "3D" over world, then you should be fine with the graphics. (Not that there's anything super complicated about it. Just try the game, you'll see what I mean).
-Sound-
I'll say this about the sound in this game: It does a little bit more than just serve its purpose. Sure, each of the main quest dungeons have one theme (some of which are recycled, but it's not necessarily bad or too repetitive), but there are some situations that the music fits the mood and the current situation much better than other soundtracks. There are even some soundtracks that are exclusive to certain dungeons or events that happen only once, but still make quite an impact when it comes to engrossing the player within the game. Specifically, I like the Magma Cavern Pit music (especially considering the situation for your first visit there, this music suits the environment almost too well) and Sky Tower (This dungeon was referred to as "... a world above ours..." . With that in mind, this soundtrack truly inspired a feeling of awe and wonder). I also forgot to mention that many bosses share the same boss music. Personally, I'm okay with it since the boss music is good, but not spectacular. Whether it irks you that the same music is used for many bosses is up to you.
-Addictiveness-
"Wait, you rated this game a 9.3, but gave a 6 for addictiveness?! Explain yourself!" Okay, okay. I'll say this about how addictive the game really is. If you find the main series of Pokémon to be addictive, then you may find this game quite addictive. Personally, I found this game pretty addicting, seeing as how it's my 2nd or 3rd play through. Someone might be wondering "Then, why rate the addictiveness so low?". I gave it the lowest rating because once you have finished the main story, the post-game, and befriending every Pokémon (Yes, including gosh-darn KECLEON), you've experienced everything there is to experience in the game. "Well, duh!" What I mean is, that playing the game again might seem...pointless to some people, especially since the game has such longevity. I rated it low because:
1. I am a hypocrite who doesn't make sense, and
2. I feel that the addictiveness is mostly dependent on the individual. Some people will play the exact same thing, and others won't, which is absolutely fine in either case. But, looking at it from a non-biased point of view (or trying to, at least) I don't think there's too much of a chance of people playing it again. But that's just my take on it
-Story-
Someone might wonder: "Ro.kerr, if you're trying to be non-biased, why did this section get a perfect 10?". Easy! This game has the best story to come from Pokémon, ever. Let me elaborate on this a little bit. Assuming that you've played a Pokémon game, you may already know that you set out on a journey to be the best trainer, catch 'em all, etc etc. With Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, you start out your new adventure with a personality test, followed by being thrown into the world of Pokémon AS a Pokémon even though you were originally a human being. A little further into the game, you learn that the world of Pokémon is threatened with natural disaster. Although you and your partner are a rescue team to help other Pokémon in need of help, you'll have to figure out why these things are happening and why you're a Pokémon who is really a human, but can't remember anything about being a human (quite the conundrum, eh?). Now, here's the REAL reason why the Story has such a high rating. Simply put, the game is so engrossing that you become wrapped up in the main character being in the world of Pokémon and becoming wrapped up in all of the situations that happen to the characters. With your partner by your side, the two of you go through everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, together as a team. That includes things ranging from small everyday chatter to some situations involving life or death, and everything in-between. In my honest opinion, this game's story is THE highlight of this game and it is something that you must experience for yourself (WITHOUT using any sort of guide, of course).
-Depth-
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team has one main premise that it sticks to: Rescuing other Pokémon. Personally, I'm glad that the game offers a little bit of variety with the rescues they offer. For instance, one rescue may require you to find a specific Pokémon in a dungeon, while other rescues require you to bring a specific item to a specific Pokémon in a dungeon. The game developers made sure to add a little variety in the types of missions the game provides. The game offers new items to the Pokémon universe, a new perspective on Pokémon, a town square that provides everything you may need, and even Rescue Mail, where you can rescue your actual friend's team if they fall in a dungeon. There's also a LOT to offer for the post-game once you beat the main story.
-Difficulty-
Having just played through this game again, I can say that the game can be difficult, but only if you don't train enough or use your team's full potential. For instance, let's say the Pokémon you became was a water type, and you had to fight against an electric type boss. If you run in without the proper equipment, training, and/or moves, you'll get knocked out quite easily. But if you prepare yourself for a worst case scenario, link the right moves together in the right order, and level yourself decently, you won't have too much trouble against the main story bosses, even if you have a type disadvantage. However, once you start playing post-game, THAT is when the real difficulty kicks in. The last story dungeon is about 34 floors I believe, while in the post game, there are some dungeons that are 99 floors long (including the boss at the end. Much fun indeed...) There's even a dungeon that requires you to literally start at square one, and work your way up from scratch. All in all, if you don't find the main story difficult, that's perfectly fine and understandable, but do NOT underestimate the post-game.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team functions very well for the first of a spin-off series of games that pays more attention to the story and emotional aspect, which wasn't really present in other Pokémon games. If you can make it past its somewhat repetitive game play, you WILL enjoy this game.
Hope y'all enjoyed this review, let me know what you think of the game, or the review itself! I'll try and make these reviews as painless as possible

Pokemon mystery dungeon: Red rescue team review   zelda2
Pokemon mystery dungeon Red rescue team review:
Graphics: 9 To me the graphic's are beautiful. I don't have much more to day about the graphics.
Sound: 10 This games soundtrack is amazing. Each tune unique and unforgettable.
Addictiveness: 10 I give addictiveness a 10 because I have the blue mystery dungeon game, and it will always have a place in my heart. Blue mystery dungeon is basically the same thing, only for the D.S., not Game boy advance. I played it every day after school until I beat it when I was nine, and once I beat it, I restarted the game to have that amazing feeling you have when you play this game again.
Story: 10 O.K., I don't want to spoil anything for you if you haven't played the game, so i'm just going to say and hope you take my word for it, I give it a 10 out of ten for a reason.
Depth:10 This game has a lot of depth. The game is extremely long without all those things to do after you beat it.
Difficulty: 8 This game is pretty difficult. But that's one of the things that makes this game fun. You fight an extremely difficult boss a number of time's and you finally beat him. It's one of the best things in the game.
Overall: 9.5 Like I said, this game means a lot to me so I really cant think of anything else to say.
Hope you enjoyed the review, this has been zelda, have a great day.

Pokemon mystery dungeon review   Qwesploy
The graphics are 7 because they decided to use older kind of graphics but it still does not look very bad.
The sound is a 9 because it almost ALWAYS fits the situation and sounds very good.
Addictiveness would be a 10 because i could play this game for days and it would always be a new game everytime and the levels are different everytime you play them.
The  story is a 10 because it hooks you in and even makes you cry at the end.
Depth is a 10 because the game offers so much even after the story.
the games is not that hard its easy to get through almost no grinding required but  some parts are kinda hard so its a 5.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Rescue Team Game Review   DeadlyFart
Pokemon mystery dungeon is another game developed by Chunsoft and been published by the one and only Nintendo . Pokemon mystery dungeon is a rouge like series spin off from the main series of Pokemon . In this game there is no any human connected , the only creatures living here are the Pokemon . Those Pokemon are navigating through different series of dungeons / caves with different types of enemies / foes which depends on the surrounding / environment of a specific dungeon . If you step in side a dungeon your only objective is to fight other pokemons , obtain different items , and finding the next stairs which will move you to the next dungeon floor while keeping your stomach / belly full because hunger also makes your life points go down .
9 / 10 Graphics : For me , the graphics are great .Different dungeon tiles , pokemon animations are great too , and the pokemon has not only a full body sprite but with a facial expression with it ( and that is really cool for me )
10 / 10 Sounds : I gave a 10 because I really didn't listen to the sounds of the game . Just to be fair , I did listen 1 time to the sounds of the game but that was like 1 - 2 years ago in my own game boy advance . To be honest , I rarely listen to the sounds of any game I play ( ene pokemon games ) .
6 / 10 Addictiveness : I think I didn't enjoyed this game that much . In fact , I didn't finish it I got bored on the part when I defeated rayquaza , evolved all of my pokemons , persored about 50 - 100 rescues ( I really don't know how many rescues have I finished ) . In that case , I really don't want to play this game again . I mean Ever Again !!
9 / 10 Story : The story was great , the story of this game was you were once a human but transformed in to a pokemon , got lost and got found by your pokemon partner ( which you will pick at the starting point of your game ) . Before your game starts you will take the Personality Test to see which pokemon will suit you . The game starts with only you and your partner fighting in your team , but if the game goes further you can recruit the pokemons that you encounter on your journey . Because of that I gave the story of the game 9 .
10 / 10 Depth : The game really took awhile for me too beat rayquaza , evolve all of my pokemons , and finished all of those 50 - 100 rescues ! That really took a lot of time around 6 hours - 2 complete days . How about you , how long did it take you to finish the game ?
9 / 10 Difficulty : The game is really difficult , just like I said in the Depth category of my review I finished it around from 6 hours to a complete 2 days of game play . And when you encounter a poison causing pokemon and you got poisoned you will take damage every 2 - 4 steps and that sucks ! And the hunger system of the game really affects your life too . The boss battles are really hard if you have the type disadvantage .
9.2 / 10 Overall : Overall , the game is really great because you will not encounter any mission shortage , by mission shortage I mean that you will not ran out of missions to do . This is also a great time waster . Plus , I am a really big fan of Pokemon games ! But I don't recommend you playing this if you don't understand what pokemon is .

Great pokemon game   poyo
I've liked this game it's a good little poyo. There are quite a bit of things to do after you've finished the main storyline of the game(still haven't finished 'em myself) but there's many legendaries which you can try to get to join you . The game itself is good with some decent graphics. The controls aren't hard to learn and you should be able to get them within 10 min. Also there's a website called bulbapedia if used right it WILL HELP YOU ALOT as it has info. on most Pokémon and dungeons. If you really get the hang of this game you'll be as good and happy as a snorlax after a buffet.

Wow, The first time i played this..... I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!
Graphic's are pretty good for a gba game, and the music is cool, i also liked how it had ONLY pokemon in it, which was a nice touch
It's not too hard, unless you're a newbie at playing it(it's your first time playing it), It's pretty easy when you beat it a couple times
i dont have much to say really, just a great game and worth playing,

Awesome   daltonw009
This is a really good game I love the fact that you can see through the Pokémon's eyes instead of the trainers which I love and the fact that its not like most Pokémon games and that they tried doing something different where you go through a dungeon and have to find the entrance to the next floor and the curiosity of what will happen next and the bosses were kind of challenging I thought it would be EASY but I was Way off I found some enemies really challenging and the ending was great I would give this a perfect 10 but if you think it through I would give it a solid 9 and it has so much to do! I suggest playing this game if you like ANYTHING

Addicting   jayron122
This game is very addicting, and that says something for me because I suck at this game.  As my friend says while he's watching me play is you rush this to much that's why you die so much slow down, and I never listen to him and die.  Anyway the story is good even though I haven't beat it actually I'm probably not even close to beating it but whatever.  The graphics isn't really bad for a game boy game, I've seen way worse before.  The sound to be truthful I don't like; not to hate on it but it doesn't get me going while I'm playing like final fantasy games, but not every game has to do that I guess.  Overall I like the game I would recommend it to anyway really but I would also tell them not to speed up the whole time like me or you will not go far like I am.  But no matter what I will beat this game because no matter how mad I get it just sucks me back to continue playing it.

Best Game EVER!!!   DarkTheHedgehog
This is the best Game Ever!!!! I would play this game for 1 million years because of how addictive this game is!    Just Perfect!!!    I would do tons of comments and I will because of how this game gave me 3 times as much luck,I choose charmander and pikachu! As I progress through the game,it got easier and easier, then harder then it just got very fun,so as i got progress i lost a few items, but that just make it part of the fun!!!!And the more items i get,the easier it gets.So As I keep on progress i will play this game again, but i messed up one of the controls, it was the Up,so until I figure that out,I will have to play this later...But still a very fun game!I cant really say much more in reviews  So I guess this review is over, bye!

Well It Was Quite Surprising.   TheGameLegend
Well It Was Surprising in a PERFECT way!
Who would thought that instead of being the trainer and catching Pokémon instead you can BE the Pokémon. Which makes the game perfect to play for all Pokémon fans. And instead of catching you can recruit Pokémon! Also you can still go to gyms and battle Pokémon.
The thing that I love about this game is that you can Link/Combo moves. Which allows you to have 1,2,3 or even 4 moves in one go! Its actually incredible how the makers of this game made this. Now you can't pick your Pokémon because you are it. The more honest that you act on the test at the beginning the more chance the Pokémon in the beginning suits you.
So to sum it up!
Its the perfect game for most poke fans and it has style!
You can do things that you cant do in the normal Pokémon games!
And instead of you Pick the Pokémon, the Pokémon is you!
Overall: A Perfect Game For Pokémon Lovers And Good For The People Who Only Started Playing Pokémon!

Red Is The Color   TaffyTheEevee
This is a really good game. It starts of with a quiz to see which Pokémon you are. You then enter the world of Pokémon and find your partner (You choose them) and a Butterfree comes up to you that needs help! She lost her caterpie in a fissure! You have to go find it. After you do that, you join a rescue team with your partner!
Graphics:10/10 The graphics are overwhelming for a Pokémon game. The animations for the moves are just amazing!
Sound:10/10 Its got a VERY Good music choice for the game. I can hear the music perfectly!
Addictiveness:10/10 Its very addictive! When you play, the story just makes you love the game..
Story:10/10 In the story of a Pokémon, you do a lot of things.. Run as fugitives,Save the world, do a lot! It has a great story.
Difficulty:10/10 Its just a perfect difficulty. You need items such as apples and gummis to survive.
Overall I give this game 10/10. Its perfect if your new to playing Pokémon. Its a different type of Pokémon game, so give it a try!

I remember playing blue rescue team on DS, never even thought there was a red rescue team until now, but anyway a great game this is!
Lexatom 01-16-16 - 10:19 AM
Super PMD is still the best in the series, the partner actually has a personality. :) This is good too though.

Everybody has that one time when they're on a dungeon and they spawn on a staircase.
epicness128 09-27-15 - 10:18 AM
 I want to replay this entire game but I don't want to get rid of my current data... ugh the choices ;n;
Flash1225 08-02-15 - 08:53 AM
Despite my having to get used to the controls, the fun thin about this game now is reloading your save-state each time you go down a floor to see what layouts you can get.
Flash1225 08-02-15 - 07:56 AM
The controls are so hard to get used to for this game, especially if you've played Blue Rescue Team and Explorers of Darkness. DARN YOU, GBA!
sacker 07-28-15 - 06:01 AM
lov the game. no Lavender Town Syndrome
sora7487 07-26-15 - 09:12 AM
Yeah I never knew I could load a save state after closing a game.
Barathemos 07-26-15 - 08:24 AM
You need to hit F2, if that doesn't work, use in game saving.
sora7487 07-25-15 - 11:29 AM
I need some help can someone tell me why I cant save my progress?
KingBudderYoshi 07-22-15 - 02:36 PM
I played an hour of it and it already seems very good! Can't wait until I get everyone on my channel to check this out!
Pika2014 05-30-15 - 10:23 AM
Great game! Still trying to get used to it online though :)
madmonk_adam 05-25-15 - 08:18 AM
No problem I know what you mean. That and you get extra exp for defeating an enemy with an actual attack.
RetroGamerGal14 05-21-15 - 06:05 PM
Ah, thanks. I was freaking out because I had this game (well, I had Blue Rescue Team) and I know that I would have gotten rekt without attacks...
madmonk_adam 05-14-15 - 08:07 PM
It's whatever you have the B button set to RetroGamerGirl14. If you haven't changed the controls it should be the X button. If you have it is whatever you set B to.
RetroGamerGal14 04-19-15 - 12:56 PM
Oh my gosh, does ANYONE know how to bring up the in game menu!? I've played this game before, and I'm not gonna make it far without being able to use attacks...
