Happy Happy Happy! drago
Yoshi's Story may look like a child's game but really it is not. This game is fun for all ages and I think you will agree. Yoshi's Story will make you feel happy every time you play, no matter what mood you are in. The graphics are all happy and the music in this game is happy. Everything is happy! I don't think there is One point in this game which makes you feel a negative emotion. The Yoshis are always happy no matter what! The main point of this game is to keep your Yoshi as happy as you can by eating Fruit. The Fruit will allow more petals to go on the Flower which indicates how happy your Yoshi is. Cantolope Melons seem to raise the Flower's petals the quickest so try to aim to get those! They only appear Thirty times in a level, thats how much you need to beat a level. The enemies are mainly Shy Guys and depending on the color Shy Guy when you eat it you will get the color egg! Eggs are you're main weapon in this game, much like Mario's jump attack. Eggs can be thrown to pop bubbles or defeat enemies. Also, if your Yoshi gets too sad it will get lost and you'll lose that Yoshi. You can get it back by finding a White Shy Guy in a level and then it will be on the Yoshi Select screen. Picking it will allow the White Shy Guy to retrieve the Yoshi you lost.
Graphics- I give the graphics a Nine. I say this because the graphics reflect on what you think of the game. The graphics are colorful and happy and put in a good mood. Every World has a different style. Grass, Lava, Castle, etc. . Even the enemies are happy! Nothing in this game is sad. The game's animations aren't the best though but you will be so happy you won't notice.
Sound- The sound is also very joyful. I give it an Eight. The music was done mainly composed by One guy which I think is awesome. The Xylophone Plays a big part in most of the tracks. This makes it sound unusual and happy. The title music is very good because it has Yoshis singing along with it.
Addictiveness- This game is very fun, I give it an Eight. Although this game isn't very long, finding all the Cantolope Melons is a challenge and if you go for 100% you will find yourself going back time and time again to find them all. Also, trying to find the secret Yoshis is hard too.
Story- The game is called Yoshi's Story. The story is a pretty big part of it! I give it an Eight. The story is that Baby Bowser has stolen the Super Happy Tree! It's the Yoshi's Quest to get it back whilst staying as happy as they can on the way! Every time you end a level text will come up like its telling a story and you'll go to the next World.
Depth- This game isn't very long, I give it a Six. There are Twenty Four levels, Four each World. This already isn't very many but once you beat One level in a World you go to the next One! Thats the only problem with this game. It's too short! If it was longer I would have put a 8.
Difficulty- This game REALLY isn't hard and thats saying something because I SUCK at video games! But it could be a bit hard when going for 100%.
Overall I find this game great and I give it a Seven. The rating could've gotten higher if it was longer but it still a really fun game!

Yoshi jumps to the N64 in this cute little platformer. RedHotToddy
If you guys remember correctly, The last yoshi game I reviewed was yoshi topsy turvy for the Game boy advance, While it wasn't the best platformer on the Game boy advance, It was still a pretty OK one at that, mostly because the game uses motion sensitivity in which you can tilt the Game boy advance to unveil secret paths, Now what we are looking at here is one of yoshi's first adventures, And this yoshi's story for the N64, the game holds yoshi's cute little look we all know, But does this mean that the game is good? Well that is for me to know and you to find out everybody here on vizzed board! Anyways, lets get to the review!
Story-7/10
The main plot of this game is that one peaceful day in yoshi's land, Bowser's evil little son bowser jr has randomly burst into the scene, thus turning yoshi's whole land into a storybook of sorts! And even worse, he has stolen the yoshi's big happy tree and scattered all the fruit! It is now up to you to help the yoshis get back the tree and get out of this storybook like world before things get into the wrong hands!
Gameplay-7/10
Yoshi's story is a 2D platformer much like in the veins of Kirby 64 or pandemonium for the PS1, but anyways, there are 3 main modes in the game, Story mode has you going through the main storyline trying to recover the tree and free out of the storybook universe, Time trial lets you has going through levels you have played already but in the quickest time possible, and I haven't played practice mode in a long time, so I forgot what that was. So anyways, in story mode, you start each stage out by picking out any colored you desire, let it be green, black, pink, blue, etc. Then you jump into the real stages, the actual stages have you going through vass linear levels collecting fruit coins eggs and defeating enemies along the way, There is a frame of fruit in the top hand of corner of the screen to show you how much fruit you have collected, if you collect all of the fruit during in the middle of the level, the level will automatically end, and yoshi will do his signature chant, There aren't many bosses in the game, but for what they are worth, the are Ok, But I will get to that later. The controls are pretty simple, you use the D-pad or analog stick to move yoshi, you use the A button to jump, and you use the B button to stick out your tounge and swallow stuff, anyways, that is it for the gameplay.
Graphics-8/10
This game was released in late 1997, and this was one year after the N64 came to the scene with such amazing looking games like Super Mario 64, goldeneye, and for what It is worth, this game looks really good! Especially considering It does take place in a storybook! But anyways, all the levels that you will be exploring are big, cartoony, and bursting with color and atmosphere. As for the characters, they look pretty good, yoshi looks good, his enemies look good and so on. The HUD in each level is pretty self explanatory to say the least, The top left hand corner shows a happy sun that represents your health, as you get hurt by enemies the sun will start to die out though, so be careful! Once he is all blue you are officaly killed and must restart from your last checkpoint! And around the screen there is a frame with all the fruit you have collected in the level so far, try to collect as much As you can! Anyways, that is it for the graphics.
Sound-8/10
The sound in this game has got to be without a doubt one of the best parts of the game itself, The soundtrack in this game has a really happy and cartoony feel which helps you prepare for the overall mood and feel of the game, Every level you will be exploring has quiet yet happy sounding music that really sounds like something you would hear from yoshi, as for the sound effects, they are pretty good as well! You get boings, pows, ground pounds, and a bunch of other yoshi stuff, and whenever you die you get yoshi's signature battle cry whenever something terrible happens to him!
Addictiveness-8/10
How likely am I to play this game again? Um you should know that...VERY likely! I remembered actually enjoying this one when my dad first got it for me! I mean sure it is not the best platformer on the N64, But at least it is the most affordable out there, until we got Kirby 64 in 2000, One thing that will have you coming back to the game is how much stuff there is to collect in each level! Each level has about 30-40 fruits to collect, and for me that is quite alot.
Depth-7/10
The game is pretty long and has alot to do, for one, the game is about 7 worlds long each with 6 levels, so the game will most likely take you 2-3 hours to get through, and there is alot of fruit to collect in each level, so that should keep you pretty busy as well!
Difficulty-4/10
The difficulty of this game has got to be one of the game's low points, the game can be really easy at most times, but that might be for it's own good, But if there is one thing I cannot get over, it has got to be the cloud'n'candy fight! This boss has got to be the most pathetic thing ever! You just lick him until he is dead! He doesn't even bother to attack! But some other parts in this game still gave me little trouble, and that is for the best.
Overall-7.5/10
I had fun with this one to say the least, I mean the game has charm, fun, challenge, and everything else you come to expect from a yoshi game, so what is not to like about it? So if you see this one, just buy it will you? I gave this game a 7.5 because how much it offers for you in the meantime, challenge, fun, replay value, etc. So this has been RedHotToddy's 91st review, see you guys way later! Chances are I might change my layout after I get to 100 reviews, I am really getting tired of this Zelda one! But this one is still Ok though.

Yoshi's Story Review TheFadedWarrior
TheFadedWarrior's Yoshi's Story Review!!Yoshi's Story is a fun side-scrolling semi-platformer where, of course, you play as dinosaurs from the Yoshi species. I hope you read this review and play the game for yourself.GraphicsThe graphics of this game are pretty good for the N64. They aren't blobby like most games (and compared to SM64 and Kirby 64, the graphics of this game are amazing), and there's an interesting mix of dimensions. The perspective is 3rd-Person, which isn't too much of a surprise, but half of the sprites are 2D (Poochy, Pak E. Derm), and the other half are 3D (Yoshi, Shy Guy). My only complaint is that the background has some really weird stuff in it. I give the graphics an 8.SoundMost of the music is very cheerful sounding, and always makes me smile. I figure that all Yoshi games have distinct tunes to them. You can find the full soundtrack here. The sound effects as well are very happy as well. I give the sound a 9.AddictivenessThis game is pretty addictive. In my opinion, it's really fun to play as a Yoshi to kick the antagonist's and enemies' butts. I can't think of any other things to say other than that this game is really fun. I give the addictiveness an 8.StoryThere isn't much story to this game. Yoshi's Story is somewhat a sequel to Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. What happens is Baby Bowser steals the Super Happy Tree, and all the Yoshis become grumpy. Your main goal in the game is to gather all the fruit they find to become happier and progress through the storybook (yes, they live in a book), and eventually find Baby Bowser and get the Super Happy Tree back. Every time you complete a world, it tells a little bit about how the Yoshis are doing. I give a story a 6.DepthThis game isn't really that long, but it's not that short if you think about it. However, for an N64 platformer, it's really short. If you look at Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, Yoshi's Story is equal to getting all the stars/jiggies in 2 levels. There is only 24 levels in the game (6 worlds, 4 levels in each), but, of course, there are the secret Black and White Yoshis to find. However, the stupidest thing is that you only need to beat 1 level to progress onto the next world. This guy beat the game in 16 minutes. Of course, though, he didn't get 100%. I give the depth a 6.DifficultyThis game isn't really that difficult. I would have given the addictiveness a 9 if this game weren't that easy. The reason I called this game a semi-platformer is because this game really doesn't have too much hardcore platforming. In Yoshi's Island, sometimes you had to take a lot of risks. I feel that in Yoshi's Story, there aren't very many risks to take, which is a major disappointment. I give the difficulty a 5.OverallYoshi's Story is a very fun, however very easy and short, game that has really good graphics. I would recommend this game to anyone who has an N64 or an account on Vizzed. I thoroughly enjoy playing this game, and now that you have read my review, I hope you play this game too.

The game that started me. yoshirulez!
mohammedroxx3: :P
Yoshi's story for the nintendo 64. So perfect in so many ways. This, This! Is the game that my username is based off of. I honestly had no idea yoshi was a SMB character at the time. I was so obsessed with this game, I started trying to eat like these yoshis do. Yknow, how they stick their tung out, touch it with something and pull it back in? I did that. Mainly with popcorn. I honestly couldn't believe that it worked! I was amazed, In fact, I may have thought i had actually become a yoshi! Hence the username. This is the story of my username, This is the story, of my obsession.
This is the story of yoshi.
Graphics:10. Seriously. 10. I love the way it looks. And how it's a giant storybook! I remember the times i used to love it when my mother read me stories.... But none of them had to do with dinosaurs so... : Kinda unlucky i suppose. The graphics are smooth, Detailed, The backgrounds are... They look like awesome paper cut outs. What with the Denim jeans stitching on the background, I love that. It makes me feel like i'm in a giant World of pants. And i love pants. They're nice and cuddly and fluffy like these graphics. Paper never looked so good!.
I was especially impressed with the scenes before you start the game. They were really pretty... I would gaze upon them forever, Possibly thinking to myself "Bring me to your world" "I'm one of you" Reaching out at the screen... But sadly, Reality set in and i had to leave my fluffy world of pants and dinosaurs... Luckily i found this site :3.
And like, Who doesn't love the snowy levels? Those pretty paper-esque snowballs... Kinda dainty and cute <3 By now, all of you are probably expecting sunny happy fluffy rainbow clouds of happiness brains, But i shall try to refrain from it. And instead, Continue with the review
Sound:10. Who doesn't love the cute sound effects of yoshi growling? Or when he's falling to his very doom... It's so cute. And then the Popping noises, The popping nosies are the best. They're all like *pop* and *pop* and so on so forth.
And, The sound of cute little poochy barking at stuff. Istn that just the CUTEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN?! AHHHH
Wait, I mean heard. Cutest thing you ever heard.
Music:10. Just gotta love that music. That music brings Everything. EVERYTHING together. I mean, What good is yoshis story without *Dun dun doon dun, dundun doon dun*? iT WOULD BE HORRIBLE! for the most part at least. Music, completes the game, Gives it form, Give it life. Makes people feel very warm and cuddly with their cuteness. And happy bunny RAINBOWS SUNSHINE LOLLYPOPS
Addictiveness:10. So addictive i have 2 copies. THAT addictive. Heck, If i had 2 sets of A/V's i would probably play them both at the same time if i could. You gotta get with the luv orit aint got no heart bro. Very addictive. Unless you hate cute dinosaurs. Which i would hate it if you did. But eh... What would i know. I'm a hamster :3
Story:10. I love this story. It's so happy/sad. Here's the story: The yoshis were all happy in their happy happy place. Or something, with their super happy tree with all tons of fruits on it. But then, Bowser jr., STOLE the tree. So you gotta swim and stuff, And jump and stuff, And fly and stuff, To get to the end of the game where you retrieve the tree. Happy ever after. <3
Depth:10. This.... This is nearly impossible to complete. First of all, Good luck unlocking all of the levels in more less than a year. Second, There's a purple yoshi. To get that, You must collect EVERY SINGLE COIN, in EVERY SINGLE LEVEL. Then you get it.
The gold yoshi is even harder.. To get THAT, You have to gett all the coins, Purple yoshi, AND get the highscore on all levels in trial mode. Then you get the golden one.
I myself have never EVER gotten either.
Difficulty:9. This game, It's pretty hard. I had trouble with it for a while. I even ragequitted it, Despite my obsession. But i got back and kicked its butt. Not to brag though. I was angry so i gave it my all. And BURNED IT ALL DOWN TO THE GROUND WOOOHOOOOO. ooh yeah. Uh. UH. Whos the best.
So that's my review on the game that started my username. The one that was so awesome, It made me explode with cuteness. AGAIN. After i exploded with cuteness about 10 times when i was reviewing hamham heartbreak rainbow rescue and crystal shards. So yeah... My heart has about 34 holes in it now. IS THERE A DOCTER IN THE HOUSE?!?!?

This game is just.. AmnesiaMaster28
This game just so Happy!
You will never get enough of this game! (There's a 6 on depth because of how much you can do in one level!)
OK, lets get into the story!
The Yoshi's Story story is Baby Bowser has stolen the Super Happy Tree. All Yoshi's were really sad. But, six eggs hatched and went on a quest to save the Super Happy Tree!
The game is beaten kind of quick, (I have not beaten it yet.) but, it'll leave you coming back for much more even AFTER the game is completed.
Overall, its one of the best games i have played ever. You should play too!

Good Ol' Yoshi thing1
Ah Yoshi... you finally have your own game. Question is... why are there different color shy guys? And when you eat them, they turn into eggs that you can throw and kill the other ones with? LOL. *gets a spoiled tomato thrown at him* fine. I will get on with the review already. Jeesh. Let me have my moment...
I remember this game growing up. I played this, Banjo and Kazooie, and Cruisin' USA, along with 2 Star Wars games, but I played this one a lot.
For a game that was done 2D on purpose, when it could have been 3D... it was still pretty good. The graphics were pretty 2D, but there were some 3D aspects in there, here and there, which I though was pretty interesting. And they did a pretty good job of making the characters the 3D, but the background and the maps, so to speak, 2D. I even like the book, how it seems like a pop-up book. Therefore, I am giving the graphics a 9.
The sound... for a Yoshi game... aww yeah. They were good. The sound that Yoshi makes... *Yoshi!!!* with his accent and all that is just cool in my opinion. And then the dragon in Chapter 2, and some other things were done really well. Therefore, I am giving the sound a 8.
Alright... so now I have to talk about the addictiveness, huh? Well, if you love Yoshi, then game is going to be addictive as mess. But... if you hate Yoshi, then yeah. I mean, it's a pretty good game, I like it, and I like it. But, you know: it's just one of those games that you have to like the character or like the story line to be really addicted to it. So the addictiveness is getting a 6.
As for the story? Man... Yoshi has to go through all these crazy things... trying to survive and stuff. Actually, there isn't much a story really. Just Yoshi going through these different world's, and you have to survive and stuff. So the story is getting a 4 this time.
The depth of the game was pretty neat though. If you died with one Yoshi, you could get another one. There are 6 different colored Yoshi's in the game. And then the whole pop-up book for the title screen was pretty cool too. The game takes awhile to beat, and there are a lot of stages and levels and worlds. One thing I don't like though... you can't jump from one world to another one. That is one of the only things that stunk about this game. So, the depth of the game gets a 9.
And now for the difficulty. The game it hard in some places. In others, it is pretty easy. The game is fun, but there is one or two parts that were really mean to me. :/ The game is not hard. The game is hard enough to make you die here and there, and still have fun while are you at it. And, the Shy Guys are not that hard to kill, if you do it right, but the dragon in the 2 world, and some other things really got on my nerves.
So... it's been great doing another review for you guys. Hope you liked this one. I tried out a new review style.
