Wii Play Review by: FaithFighter - 8/10

I play, You play, Wii play!
I remember first seeing this game, and thinking, "Well, this looks kind of boring..." The I saw the price. "It is only $4.99. I might as well try it, it's not like I will be losing much." Well, I am glad I did! This game is very similar to the Wii sports series. It has a bunch of games on here that you can earn medals in. The games are as follows: Target shooting, Mii pose, ping-pong, find Mii, laser hockey, fishing, billiards, ride the cow, (i know sounds whacky!), and even tank driving. Each game focuses on a single aspect of the wii remote. This is a very interesting type of game. A game that shows you how to use the wii remote. Were people really going, "what is that thing?" "I don't know, must be a music conductors's wand." Look out that gamer is going to use nunchucks on us!" Sorry to get off track here, just had to add a little humor. Anyways, on with the review!

Graphics: 9
The graphics are crystal clear, and everything looks pretty good. The designs for some games were just awesome. Take laser hockey for instance. I absolutely love the neon lights! The motion and visuals are spectacular! Especially when you get into a heated battle. Trust me, when I play with my sister, the sparks go a-flying! Some of the games just have fun graphics, like the cow riding game. It's really quite amusing to see your mii hanging onto the cow for dear life. Never knew a cow could run so fast! What can be even more amusing is that fact that you are trying to knock scarecrows down! Way funny! Another spot with good graphics is the tank driving game, I love how the tanks leave tracks wherever they roll. Also if you see the mortar hit a wall, you will see a little smoke cloud from it, nice touch! Anyways, the graphics overall are good, clear, and well designed. Everything that you would expect from the wii.

Sound: 9
The sound is every bit as good as the graphics are, especially for the game billiards. Everything in this game sounds 100% real! Everything from hitting the ball to the sounds of the crowd booing or cheering you. Another good one is the target shooting game. Especially towards the end, when you are shooting the cans and UFO's. The sound of hitting the can seems real, and I love the sounds the UFO's make and even more the sounds that the miis make as they are being carried away. Overall, I have nothing to complain about here!

Addictiveness: 9
This game will get you to come back and play it somehow! Whether you are coming back to get a higher score, or just to play with a friend. There is no doubt that you will always find a reason to play it. I know I thought I was done playing, but then I started playing with my sister, and well, this is my second favorite game to play with her. (Second to Mario Kart!) On my own, I have went back to play it afterwards, always trying to beat my score. Nintendo knew what they were doing when they made this game! To make a game that you can always shoot for a better score, and can play with several friends at a time, it was just brilliant. And to boot, they marketed it as a tutorial game for the wii remote. Clever. Even though this game has no story, the game is a lot of fun to play.

Story: Like I said, no story. Just get the best scores possible!

Depth: 6
The game is not very deep, and there really does not seem to be a point where you are ever really "finished" with the game. There always does seem to be something else that you can do better. But I still think that it could use a few more games. Given that there are only 9 mini games here. And considering how many minigames most party games have, I would only rate this game average in depth (a 5) but nintendo did make sure to give you medals that get sent to your wii message board, so that's pretty nice to have.

Difficulty: 7
This game is not a difficult, but it does provide enough of a challenge to keep you from automatically getting super scores. I think two of the most challenging games on here are Billiards and Find the mii. I have had so much trouble with these two it's not even funny. For the one, they always want you to hit the balls in the exact order. And on the other one, if you have ever seen the one where it says "find the odd mii out" I could not figure out what made the mii "odd out" until just recently. Really, the game is an easy one to pick up, and the controls  give relatively little of any challenge. But this game ultimately is the kind of game that will get as hard as you get good. So I guess that it is just right!

Overall: 8
For a game that was only $4.99 used, and one that I though was going to be a major bore, this game really proved its worth. Its combination of some things that are just humorous, mixed with good graphics and sound, relatively easy controls, and fun, endless game play went way beyond all of my expectations for it. I would not say that it could not be any better, but considering what the game was made for, they really did a great job on it!
