Wario Land 4 Review   Zircron Swift
Man, this is another one of my childhood favorites. I loved this game, as it offered many secrets and hidden goodies. After Wario Land 3, I didn't think the next game would be as good as the last. Well, as Wario makes his leap on to the GBA, good things were bound to be expected. So lets just jump straight into this one.
The story starts out very cold and dark. You see an ally way, the city is quiet, and you see a black cat walk by. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Then, a garage opens to reveal a car, ready to drive off into the night. It nearly runs over a cat passing by, and a newspaper flys into the cats face. As the wind blows down, the cat reads (assuming the cat can read) the news, to find that there is a newly discovered pyramid, which can only mean one thing: Warios gonna loot the entire thing of it's treasure, or die trying. This sets the mood rather well, and is typical of Wario to go off for one sole purpose; treasure! So this makes a decent story in my opinion.
You get a choice of difficulty betwen normal or hard. Completing the game in hard gives you a "Super hard" difficulty (or "impossible" if it's a PAL version). I hate it when they say "impossible" as a difficulty, even though it is in fact possible to complete. It's just a fancy word for "Super Duper Hard". The Americans seemed to have got this right, but I digress. Anyway, as you start the game, you come across the pyramid, and you enter it.....along with that cat you nearly ran over. You jump into a pit, and some face in the wall below rolls out its tongue and you slide out of it. This brings you to a sort of hub world, where you can select what "passage you want to go to", but at the beginning, you only have one to choose from.
Each passage (apart from the first and last one) has four levels, a mini-game room, and a boss. Each passage had levels that reflect the passages "element", to say simply. It even has these signs on the walls as you enter a level. Oh, and did I forget to mention that when you enter a level, you jump on a frog statue to open up  a vortex to go inside a painting? I swear I'm not making this up. As you enter a level, the vortex closes, and you need to find two things. The first, is a key to the next level, and the second is to find all four pieces of a big jewel, which will open the boss room if you find every piece in the passage.  You'll also need money, not for personal greed, but for the mini-games later before you fight a boss. This can be obtained by defeating enemies and breaking certain blocks. If your lucky and smart, you can get a diamond, which is worth $1,000.....wait, is that a....health bar? A health bar is a Wario Land game? And I thought I've seen it all.
You have eight hearts, and if you lose them all, you don't quiet die, but instead get kicked out of the level. You can collect hearts through out the level, but if you kill an enemy, you can collect a piece of it's essence. Collect eight pieces and you regain a heart. Pretty handy, eh. If you have full hearts and collect eight pieces of essence, then any kill after that will reward you with more koney than before, so it really does pay to be careful. You can also stop on the ground to make a select few baddies change their colour to make them give more money, as the cost of them being more dangerous. To get out of the level, you must find a frog statue, jump on it, and get the hell out. If you don't make it in time, you will lose some dosh, but if you lose all of your money, I daren't think what'll happen. Sometimes, you might find the frog statue before you find the key or all the jewel pieces, but don't worry, you might come across them on the way back....did I mention the key was a living thing? It's just some bird face with a key for a beck.....I got it! The perfect name for this creature: A Keese! I'm going to call it Keese, and it will be my Keese. Shame it dies when it unlocks the door for you =c
The level design is a craft one. There are hidden breakable blocks everywhere. Try breaking a block in a suspicous place and you might be rewarded well. Sometimes, you might come across a purple pipe. Go down this one and you'll be welcomed with relaxing music which is perfectly suitable for a puzzle. You might also meet Professor Dude, looking out to find new stuff to take back. You can throw him, smack him, throw him in water, and he won't care.  He sees things from an optimisic point of view. You might find him either exploring, or just playing on his GBA (Effectivly breaking the fourth wall), and if he gets wet, no sweat! He'll just get his swimming gear on and explore the depths of the abyss (which by the way, he looks absolutly adorable when he does that! ^^). Each of these pipes contains either a diamond (90% of the time), or a heart chest.
Before every boss, you have access to a mini-game room. You have a choice between three mini-games (all costing $2,000 in the first passage, and $5,000 for every passage after that). These can help you obtain Medals, which can be used to buy weapons to help tip the scales in your favor....apart from the smile, that's for free. These mini-games need you to either hit a home-run, jump over stuff, or even remember a face and palce the right pieces in place. These are easier said than doneat first, but once you played it a few times, you should do alright. Sometimes, I just play for the sake of beating my highscore.
The graphics are pretty good on this game. The attention to detail in the background is a joy to look at, while the enemies are both weid and interesting. It's clean, smooth and sharp. The music, on the other hand, is a mixed bag. At some parts, it's just a mash of 16-bit sounds, while at other times, it's either really rockin' or incredible cute and happy, almost as if I could have a happy relationship with the song....wait, what am I saying? I want to date a song? This game must be affecting me in some way, but I digress. My favorite moment in the game is when I jump on that frog statue, and the atmosphere changes completely. The background gets disorted, the timer starts, but most importantly, the music changes into this serious piece that makes you feel that you have to step your game up and escape before it's too late. The music does all the work, really.
What i really hate about this game, though, are he hidden CD's in the game. If you can find one, then pat yourself on the back, they aren't the easiest things to find. You can play them on the CD player on the hub world, but most of the time, the CD's themselves are just a jumble of soudn effects, and I find them very boring. I don't know if I'm missing anything or not, but I just don't get them. At the end of every boss, you'll get a treasure and a number of chests (depending on how quickly you have defeated the boss), the more chests you have at the end of the game, the better the ending is.
Overall, I give this game 9.4/10      Never before have I found a game so full of charm, wonder and mystery, yet still retain a sense of annoyance, love, seriousness and menace....ok maybe not the love part, but the others I think are there. This is a gaming masterpiece, chucked full of secrets, humor and great platforming. It's a must play if you love the Wario series. Now....how am I going to tell that song it's not going to work out?......

Mario's rival wario gets the spotlight in this adventure....   RedHotToddy
Ah, 2001, this was a big year for all of us, why you ask? It's because this year Nintendo released 2 of their most popular consoles! The Nintendo gamecube, and the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Both two consoles did VERY well in the United states, and of course there were a Boatload of launch titles to show what the Two systems are made of, One of the gamecube's launch titles was Luigi's mansion, and one of the Game boy advance's Launch titles was Wario land 4, now before this game was made, there were 4 past wario land titles for the Game boy, Wario land 1 for GB, Virtual boy wario land for the highly underrated Virtual boy, Wario land 2 for GB and GBC which was also was one of the first games to support the super game boy, and last but not least, Wario land 3, only for the game boy color. Now let's see, is Wario's first Game boy advance adventure just as good as Mario's Game boy advance adventures? Let's see....
Story-7/10
One very quiet day, Our hero wario is just reading the news when suddenly he finds something about some really big pyramid deep in the jungle. Princess shokora the ruler of the pyramid was cursed by this money crazed Gold diva. Wario then hops on to motorcycle and heads towards to the big pyramid. Then the quest begins.
Gameplay-8/10
Wario land 4 offers ALOT more free roaming then the past WL titles, Mostly Wario land 2 and wario land 3. There are 4 big worlds to explore in the whole game,  First is emerald, which is centered around nature, such as trees, animals and whatnot. The second is Topaz, which centers around kiddy things like Toys, fun games and a bunch of other stuff....The third world centers science, machines and whatnot, And lastly the final level revolves Danger and fear. The controls are pretty simple, A is jump, B is attack, and L and R lets you do your little charge attack. Wario is very easy to control and handle, considering he is Mario's rival. There are 4 levels per world, each requiring you to find some sort of Key to progress to the next level. After doing all the levels in a world, Wario must face a boss fight, the bosse are pretty tricky and will require alot of strategy and skill to beat.
Graphics-9/10
This game was released in 2001, and I must say, The graphics are simply put amazing! All the characters, locales and levels you'll be exploring are big and bursting with color and atmosphere! The HUD is pretty self explanatory also, It shows your current amount of health, Your amount of coins, and some blue bar which I do not know what does yet.... For some reason also, The graphics in this game also remind me ALOT of this old game for the Sega genesis called Chester cheetah's wild quest. For a launch title, Nintendo really outdid themselves....
Sound-8/10
Oh yes the sound, probably my most favorite part of the game! All the songs in this game sound really bright and cherry! That's something Nintendo has been doing in all of their games, adding nice bright happy music. As for the SFX, they are pretty great too, except for one thing, The game now uses actual vocals! So that means you'll get to hear Charles martinet (Voice of Mario, Luigi, wario, waluigi) in action. Even some of the actual background music uses Voice vocals! Congrats Nintendo! Nintendo never ceases to amaze me..When will the ever make me mad? NEVER.
Addictiveness-8/10
This game is so much fun I tell you! It's very enjoyable stomping around as Wario, In fact, Because of this game, Wario is officaly one of my favorite Mario characters now! It's mainly because His personality, I know some of you guys hate Mario with all of your might, But everybody is titled to their own opinion....This is one of those games that I have kept with me for VERY VERY long...
Depth-9/10
This game offers SO much for you to do! I mean for one, there are alot of difficulty levels to choose from, such as Easy, Medium, Hard, and even Super hard! I mean, what kind of game offers a Super hard difficulty? Only true expert games can get through this mode in one piece...The game is about 4 worlds long, so It will probably take you about 5 hours to beat at least.
Difficulty-7/10
Like I said in the depth section, the game does offer 4 difficulty levels, including Very hard. But other then this, the game still can be pretty challenging at most points, but It is Nintendo, So what to expect? Rarely did I ever ever die in this game, but that is mainly because I have tons of skills at games like this...
Overall-8.9/10
In general, I highly suggest you buy this game, if you needa wario fix, or if you just need a fun challenging platformer to play on the Game boy advance. This game is the way to go! I gave this game a 8.9 because How much fun it is, and how much It offers for the player. So overall, BUY THIS GAME! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT! So bye everybody!

Excellente!   juuldude
Hello everybody, I already have mentioned a few times I would write a review about this game and here it is now I found the time!
Wario Land 4 is one of the first games that came out for the GBA and one of the first Mario-based games for the GBA. It received many positive reviews and I have played this game many times and I'm very positive about it as well. I don't know how I originally got to know this game but since it has been in my mind for a long time I decided to make this review. Let's get this started!
Story: 7
I decided to do the story first as it's useful to know. The story is not very big. Wario reads about a doctor named 'dr. Arewo Stein' who has discovered a pyramid that is said to contain many treasures. Only thinking about money and not about the dangers, Wario races with his car to the Pyramid. When he enters, he sees a black cat who has been following him and it jumps in a hole. Wario does the same and find himself stuck in a deeper part of the pyramid where he has to go through several levels. It's not a great story but it fits as a good Wario story. And it's pretty interesting as there's a story behind the normal story but I won't reveal spoilers! ;)
Gameplay: 10
This is something I normally don't place reviews but I decided to do it for the first time as it's an important part of the game. In Mario games, you usually jump on enemies, destroy them with fireballs or crush them while using a star. Wario games work different. Wario is fatter and strong than Mario so his signature attack is a good ram with his arm muscles. He can jump on most enemies but all enemies aren't effected by that so Wario can use a good ground pound. If Wario jumps from a great height this ground pound can become so powerful that it can smash through several blocks, which is needed to open up some passages. Wario can also dash and break other blocks with this, although this can be done with his ram attack as well. Wario can also crawl, swim without needing to breath and he can pick up enemies and throw them against obstacles to open up new paths.
Wario can also undergo certain effects. If Wario is on fire he runs around like crazy and he can break many blocks. Wario can become flat and go through certain passages. Wario can even become a bat and fly upwards until he touches light or water!
The level idea is simple. You enter a level, you are supposed to find four parts of a crystal that are used to open the boss of a 'passage' and you need to find a 'Keyzer', an ally that will open up the door of the next level. You can also find CD's that you can later listen to in a music room. However, to get out of a level you need to find a Frog Switch but if you press this you have a limited time before you start to lose your score and ultimately, faint! But if you collect enough stuff and coins then you will get a highscore with a bronze, silver or gold crown by your name!
There are also pipes that bring you to puzzle rooms that usually reward you with diamonds and where you have to throw the doctor around like he's an enemy to break bricks and hit switches.
There are 6 different passages and all are themed differently. There are two small ones, one at the beginning and one at the end and four major ones. The major ones have these themes: Toys, Horror, Nature and Technics. The toy world has levels with block doors, dice blocks, living doodles, pencils and domino races. The horror world has ghosts, magic carpets, lava, and abandoned buildings. The nature world doesn't change a lot; Levels with palm trees, flowers and bees, underwater monsters and a monsoon jungle. The mechanic world is maybe the passage with the most various levels: A factory, a dump yard, a freezer and a pinball machine. The levels are very different from each other and have unique enemies and challenges so that's a great part of this game.
All in all, there is too much to tell everything but the gameplay is just very good and very big, even better than the Mario games in my opinion.
Graphics: 10
If you have ever played a Mario game or a Mario-based game you know that the graphics are usually stunning. This game is no exception. The enemies have interesting looks, the game design is good, the backgrounds fit in with the themes. There are levels with a lot of funky colours, levels with caves and cave floors, levels with machines and so on. Wario, his allies and enemies are easy to recognize and it's not hard to tell who is who. Flames are realistic, water has those patterns you usually see, enemies have funny designs. There are many different backgrounds specially made for levels and levels can contain more than 5 backgrounds!
Sound: 10
This game has many interesting soundtracks. There are 18 unique levels with 17 of them having an unique soundtrack. There is also an overworld music, a shop music, two boss musics, a 'hurry up!' music, a credits music, and even more. The soundtracks have many tunes that fit in with the theme. For example, one soundtrack for a level that's very cold contains many ice like tunes. A soundtrack for a level with toy blocks contains cheery tunes. And a level with a lot of trash and garbage contains... a rock music? That's no problem, it still fits the theme.?
Addictiveness: 9
This game is very addicting. I have played it many times, as you can easily pick up with this game and it's easy to play this even when you have just started. As the levels and the bosses can be replayed as much as you want you can just come back for those. Or you can play to discover more secrets, try to get a better highscore or pick up treasures that you forgot. Why I didn't rate it a 10 then? It's just that the game isn't very big in means of levels and bosses. So after a little while you already have seen everything you want to.
Depth: 8
Like I said in the previous section, there aren't many levels and bosses. But the levels and the bosses itself are pretty big in a way. They require difficult tactics, there are level-unique enemies, even the bosses have unique enemies, there are many small and big puzzles, there are also many things like magic carpets, pinballs, lianas! You can tell the creators put a lot of effort in the levels, enemies, challenges, puzzles and bosses.
Difficulty: 7
Maybe one of the parts that's less interesting is the difficulty. There are three modes of difficulty: Normal, hard and S-hard (super-hard). They don't bring a lot however, the only things that differ are shorter time limits and extra enemies. Then again, I have only played the normal mode so I don't know a lot about it but in general, the levels are easy to pick up and even though you can have a tough time with some levels and puzzles you will easily find out the solutions. I didn't have a lot of trouble with this game in general.
This is the end of my review, as you can see, the gameplay part is very large but that's because I found it the most interesting part of the game. If you have questions about things I didn't cover, feel free to ask them as I can tell more in this review but it would get messy. I hope you had fun reading this and until next time, review readers! Have fun with writing reviews yourself!

Best Game of the Wario Land Series   luigi25

In my opinion, Wario Land 4 is the best game of the Wario Land trilogy. I rate every category a perfect 10 including: the graphics, music, gameplay, storyline, and content. I would have to say that this has to be my favorite game on the Gameboy Advance, and for the most part, one of my favorite video games ever! It is right up there with great classic games like Donkey Kong Country 2, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Bros. 3. There is a lot to talk about with the fourth game of the Wario franchise.

Graphics 10/10: Whenever I reviewed Wario Land 3, I talked about how animated the graphics in that game looked. Wario Land 4 looks even better on the 32-bit Gameboy Advance. The sprites and backgrounds have even more detail to them than that game had. Wario Land 4 looks a lot like many of the Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z games. It was released in late 2001 whenever those games were very popular. This fourth Wario game looks almost like a cartoon! This looks like a game that was perfectly designed for a handheld gaming system that was fairly new at the time. What a great looking game!

Music 10/10: The soundtrack of Wario Land 4 has the most variety to it of any other video game I have played so far. The music is catchy and fun to listen to from start to finish. The musical numbers are also a big part of what gives this game that animated feel, and it sounds very cartoonlike. I like how in some of the songs you can hear a girl singing in Japanese. Wario Land 4 sounds very much like a Japanese anime! The title song is also one of my favorites. The only way to experience the music of this game is to listen to the soundtrack in the Vizzed Video Game Music Room (or play the game). I think it sounds better than the classic Sonic games!

This has to be one of my favorite parts of the fourth installment. The track for "Toy Block Tower" is one of my favorites. I liked the trumpet that plays in that song. Some of the others like "Arabian Night" are also pretty cool too. The best part is the ending where you get a collection of the best songs from the whole game that play as Wario is riding off in the desert in his big car! That scene is a perfect way to end the game and the Wario Land series, even though it wasn't the end. From beginning to end, this is one of my favorite video game soundtracks ever!

Gameplay 10/10: This is a very long section because there are a lot of things about Wario Land 4 that will make you want to come back and replay this game a lot. This Wario game is a lot more straightforward than the previous game (Wario Land 3) on Gameboy Color and is more of a return to the traditional gameplay style of the first ones in the trilogy. You have the overworld map of the pyramid and a kind of status screen of the individual levels of each area of the pyramid. The player can see if they have found the stone tablets and CDs on each level. Wario can die in this game, but he also has a lot of health. I don't find myself dying much from running out of health except for on the boss fights.

What will really make newcomers want to play this game is the first level which is a tutorial level. This part shows off Wario's basic moves and how to perform them. It basically shows people how to play the game, which I like. There is a new move called the Supercharge that is performed by holding down the R button while pressing the right or left arrow keys. This maneuver is used for plowing through a lot of blocks or for breaking those dark green blocks that Wario cannot break with his normal charge attack. I feel like Wario Land 4 is the best game for new players of the series to check out because of how self-explanatory it is. About all the games (except for WL3) are like this.

In order to make progress in this game Wario has to find all 4 stone tablets in each level. The pieces are found in treasure chests and are necessary for unlocking the boss stage in each area. The player also has to find the key on each stage in order to unlock the door to the next stage. There are also optional CD pieces in each level that are used to play sound effects in the game's sound room. I didn't find it all that hard to find these items on the levels. You just had to do some exploring in the first part of the stages before you hit the Frog Switch.

After you hit the Frog Switch, a timer is set off, but the player can now reach different parts of the level that were not accessible before. You can explore these new areas in order to find more tablets, the key, CDs, and even more optional items such as: jewels and coins that are worth points in this game. However, you have to find your way back to the beginning of the level before time runs out and jump into the vortex after hitting the switch. It seems like the game does give you plenty of time to do so on the early levels of the game, but towards the end this becomes more challenging which is the way a game should be.

This time Wario starts the game with his basic abilities just like in Wario Land 2, and he also has the Supercharge ability. Wario Land 4 is lot more straightforward than the third game because you don't have to find treasures in order to gain back your basic moves. All you have to do is find the 4 tablets and the key on each of the stages in order to make progress and unlock the boss areas. All this has to be done in a certain amount of time which is a lot like the way the levels in the Super Mario and first Wario Land games were designed.

Wario can die in this game too if he takes too much damage from enemies. He starts out each level with only 3 hearts, but the player can find more heart pieces within the levels. There is also a treasure chest in some of the stages that give you full health. Another thing worth mentioning, is that there are two modes to this game: Normal Mode and Hard Mode. Players have the option of playing this game in either mode after selecting an empty save file. There is also another S-Hard Mode that is unlocked by completing the game in Hard Mode. WOW! I think playing this game in Normal Mode is challenge enough! I don't feel like playing all these modes are all that exciting or different from normal mode and can just be skipped.

In order to complete Wario Land 4 100%, players have to find the mandatory stone pieces and keys, but they also have to find the CDs and beat the bosses under a certain amount of time. Yeah, the boss fights are timed. You have to beat the bosses of each world under a certain time limit. Wario does have full health to start with, but it can be very difficult to keep from taking damage in these parts of the game. You have to figure out how to avoid getting hit and land a lot of hits of your own on these bosses all under a certain time limit. The first boss (Spoiled Rotten) is a joke it is so easy, but the next one (Cractus) is a lot more difficult!

As the clock ticks down to the last minute, one of your treasure chests float away. Wario must have all 12 chests after defeating the final boss (The Golden Diva) at the end of the game in order to get the best ending and rescue the Princess in her prettiest form. If you don't have many treasures at the end, Wario will rescue the Princess, but she will not look anything like a Princess, she'll look more like a monster! You can go back and try to beat the bosses more quickly in order the retain all 12 treasures and rescue the Princess in her proper, more attractive form. This is an extra challenge that can be pretty hard to do because of the way you can't go back and try again if you mess up until you beat all of them again.

The design of Wario Land 4 is pretty cool, and like with all the other games, it is big on exploration. You don't have to keep up with as much as you did in the third game in order to know where you are going and not get lost. The stages and areas also have a lot of variety with: an island paradise, jungles, factories, toy block levels, domino levels (LOL!), haunted house stages, a fire/ice level, etc. It doesn't go overboard with exploration like in Wario 3 and keeps things more simple. The stone tablets are easy to find, you just have to look for them. In order to do this Wario has to undergo some his classic transformations from Wario Land 2 and 3.

His transformations for Wario Land 4 include: Bouncy Wario, Bubble Wario, Fat Wario, Flat Wario, Hot Wario , Zombie Wario, Bat Wario, Snowball Wario, Puffy Wario, and Frozen Wario. The transformation system is basically the same with no new moves. These transformations can become helpful in reaching secret areas where tablets, keys, CDs, hearts, coins (that have no other function but to give the player a higher score in this Wario game), and jewels are found. They can also hinder your progress, especially on the boss fights. It would not be right to not talk about the transformations and no Wario Land game would be the same without them.

Story 10/10: Wario Land 4 starts out with Wario's car breaking down on him. He wonders through a jungle where he discovers a pyramid. Wario was reading about this pyramid that morning and how it was full of all kinds of valuable treasures worth millions! Wario already has more than enough money from finding all the treasures from before in the music box world, but he wants more. Although, in the process, Wario ends up doing more than just stealing treasure. He finds this black cat, and to quote The Lonely Goomba "a scientist that looks like he has a brain tumor"!

Wario follows the cat throughout the pyramid and fights these strange creatures (A Giant Piranha Plant, Cuckoo Clock, Giant Teddy Bear, and a Catbat) along the way before reaching The Golden Passage to the final boss (The Golden Diva). It turns out this pyramid was once ruled by this beautiful princess named Princess Shokora. She was turned into the black cat that led Wario to this pyramid by the Golden Diva who has taken over the pyramid, thrown out Princess Shokora, and turned her into a cat. So, Wario is not only stealing treasure, but also rescuing a princess, and a scientist who got lost here too. This is not something Wario started doing much of until he saved the Music Box world in the third game, but in the fourth one, he does much more than that!

Although, if Wario loses some of his treasure chests on the boss fights, he won't be able to restore Princess Shokora to her true form. She'll remain ugly! The storyline for Wario Land 4 is hilarious! Nintendo did something a lot more creative than what they did with the second and third games this time around. However, after Wario does all this, the game shows another cat, a white one, wondering the streets. Could this be another princess for Wario to unintentionally rescue and another opportunity for him to steal even more treasure!?

Content 10/10: Wario Land 4 isn't as long as the other two previous games are, but it does take a good bit of time to try and complete. This is about a 3 and 1/2 hour long game which is typical for any good platformer. The game takes place inside the pyramid Wario wondered into in the jungle. The pyramid is broken up into 6 different passages: The Entry Passage, Emerald Passage, Ruby Passage, Topaz Passage, Sapphire Passage, and The Golden Pyramid. The main passages: Emerald, Ruby, Topaz, and Sapphire passages, are broken up into several different levels. These levels are pretty long, and some of them take up to 30 minutes to complete. Luckily, there aren't that many levels in this Wario Land game, but it still has a fair amount of content to it without being as insanely long like the other games.

Difficulty 5/10: There is no doubt that Wario Land 4 is a lot more straightforward, and isn't as much of a puzzle to figure out like the third game was. You don't need a sheet of paper in order to keep from getting confused as to which level to play next. The game clearly displays where the player goes after finishing the previous one. Getting to that level requires all 4 stone tablets and the key in order to unlock the gateway to the next stage. The player also has to find all these items under a certain amount of time, or Wario will die and have to replay the whole thing again. The tablets and keys aren't hard to find, and you have plenty of time to enter the vortex at the start of the stage before time runs out.

This never gets to be much of a problem except for on some of the later levels. Even then, it isn't that difficult. Wario also can collect a lot of heart pieces in the stages, so he can take a lot of hits from enemies before dying. The levels themselves aren't that hard, but the boss areas kind of are. Wario starts out with full health, but he must land a lot of hits on these bosses under a certain amount of time. He also has to avoid taking damage himself. These boss stages are what takes practice to master successfully, and this is where the transformations can slow you down as well. These bosses take so many hits to defeat, and they are timed. I'd say when you factor in all this, Wario Land 4 has a decent amount of difficulty but isn't as hard as the previous game.

Overall 10/10: This has got to be one of the longest reviews I have ever written!! The reviews I did for the other Wario Land games were also pretty long, but Wario Land 4 has lot of things to discuss. It isn't that long of a game, but there are so many things about it that I felt like needed to be talked about. The graphics, sound, content, difficulty, plot, and the gameplay had a lot that needed to be explained. A game doesn't get this high of a rating without explaining why it does. Wario Land 4 has been a very memorable game even though it was released years after I lost interest in video games. It wasn't until early in 2015 that I started playing it, and since then I have been hooked! I recommend giving it a try, and I'm sure there are probably still some other things I forgot mention about the game that need explaining.

Again Wario doesn't fail to disappoint! The series is again a treasure seeking adventure. The game play is very much like the older games, nothing new, except that many abilities that you would have had to get like the jump smash and jump to break bricks is already there! Along with a few new moves like throwing and dashing. The game graphics are better than I expected, think Metroid for GBA. Overall another great Wario game for any fan to have. The only downside to me is the new life system, but unlike Mario, you have a health bar instead of one or two hit death.
